I want to develop another small application (Web) to do this deployment process without going though VS IDE. I heard about System.Deployment and Microsoft.Build.BuildEngine name spaces.     Hi, Is there a built-in way to create vCard files in the .NET Compact Framework? If not, what is a good library for this? I have found this one which after some adaptations would seems to be able to do the job on the Compact Framework: http://thoughtproject.com/Libraries/vCard/index.htm But I'm not sure if there is not a build-in or more standard way to do it.   • Is F# a poor choice for a functional language

    Hi, To me, I think F# is a bad choice due to the fact that it uses threads behind the scenes. To me, threads are too "heavy" due to things like context switching. I can see why Erlang is a good choice because it uses light weight processes. Am I wrong? Cheers Paul

    I can't seem to find a good explanation of "Leader/Follower" pattern. All explanations either simply refer to it in the context of some problem, or are completely meaningless. Can anyone explain to the the mechanics of how this pattern works, and why and how it improves performance over more traditional asynchronous IO models?     is it possible to create "Mail Contact" in Exchange with C#? any tips in where to start there is allot of info on how to create a mailbox (which is good), but I do not need it now I need to do that for the "Mail Contact" that everybody in the company has access to! so basically the "mail contacts" can be for people with external email addresses that all our users can see and send email too (GAL) oh and we have Microsoft Exchange 2007

  • How to use the Bass library to convert audio to another format (using C#)

    Good day everyone and happy holidays. I'm trying to create a "simple" program that allows me to create a list of video files (Youtube video's to be precise) that are then run through by my program and converted any given format to pure MP3 audio. For this purpose I'm trying to use the BASS.dll and well it isn't going so well. I was wondering if anyone has used BASS to convert from one audio format to another? Or is there another library better suited for this?

  • What is a 'better' approach to query/save from server: DTO or Wcf Data Services?

    From my perspective, the Data Services and their query approach is useful when querying simple object graphs from your server-side domain model. But when you want to query complex dependencies I couldn't create anything good out of it. The classic DTO approach is fine-grained and can handle everything, but the downside is that you have to create Dto classes for every type of server-request which is time consuming and you have to synchronize the Dto type with your domain entity/business logic.

    M2Crypto.X509.X509 objects have a verify(pkey) method, which provide a means of testing that a given certificate does in fact sign a specified key. This is a good and useful thing -- except that sometimes the certificate I want to verify in this way is invalid without the use of an intermediate certificate, which this API does not appear to allow a way to specify. Is there an alternate means of validating a certificate / private key pair which will work even when the certificate is unable to stand alone?
