• joomla SEF shows differrent links in Homepage than inner pages !!

  I'm enabling Joomla SEF , and get the following results when I link to an article from a homepage (frontpage) article: anywebsite.com/component/content/article/26/141-Z1-Z2-Z3-Z4 but when linking from other articles I get the result I want which is : anywebsite.com/Categor/141-Z1-Z2-Z3-Z4 and the link is both equal which is : index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=141:Z1-Z2-Z3-Z4&catid=26 any idea?! Edit: Does manually linking with this SEF link is a good idea , instead of waiting for joomla to convert it .. ? atleast as a last resort?

• ASP.NET MVC Alter Markup before Output

  Hi, Excuse my limited knoweldge here. In the past I have used Steve Sanderson's method to HTML encode by default at runtime: http://blog.stevensanderson.com/2007/12/19/aspnet-mvc-prevent-xss-with-automatic-html-encoding/ I have a need to alter img src and a href attributes before they are spat out in the user's browser. There is a solution using JavaScript but this is not ideal for several reasons. Intercepting the compiler is not an option because of unnecessarily using Response.Write for trivial HTML. Is there something I can do with HTTP modules or the view engine? Any thoughts? Cheers.

• Confusing rails div id naming

  I have started using jQuery and rails. I have made a simple form that submits to the database and updates the page without reloading with ajax. In my jQuery functions I used $"#new_comment" for the id name (in my application.js and create.js.erb files) but on my articles/show view file, I named the div "add_comment" and it works.. I renamed it new_comment and it breaks! Can someone explain it please? I get an error: "no action responded to 1" My function in my controller is "create".

  Hi, This is not a specific bug, its more about not knowing how to do something. I've an NSTextView and I need to paint the background of specific ranges of text when the user clicks on a specific part of the text view. I've tried this but I just get erratic behaviour in the sense that sometimes text loses the foreground color or the background doesn't span the whole range: NSLayoutManager *layoutManager = [myTextView layoutManager]; [layoutManager removeTemporaryAttribute:NSBackgroundColorAttributeName forCharacterRange:range]; [[myTextView layoutManager] setTemporaryAttributes:attributes forCharacterRange:range]; For the sake of simplicity assume that range is always a valid string (it is in my testing environment).

• SetSel on EN_SETFOCUS or WM_SETFOCUS doesn't work

  I've ran into next mystic thing in Winapi/MFC, I have an edit box, contents of which I have to select on Tab, Lclick, Rclick, Mclick and so on. The sort of obvious path is to handle the SETFOCUS message and call SetSel(0, -1), which should select all text. But it doesn't work! What's wrong? I tried googling, everyone seems to override Lclilks or handle SetSel in parent windows, but this is wrong from encapsulation point of view, also multiple clicks (user wants to insert something in the middle of the text) will break, and so on. Why isn't my approach working, I tried like 10 different ways, tried to trap all possible focus messages, looked up info on MSDN, but nothing works as expected. Also, I need to recreate the carret on focus, which also doesn't seem to work. SETFOCUS message gets trapped alright. If I add __asm int 3, it breaks every time. It's the create carret and setsel that gets swallowed it seems.

My problem is I want user create template from the admin panel, it means all template will be stored into database including all Dwoo variable and functions.My questions: Is it possible to load dwoo template from database? How to parse dwoo variable or function from database?   How do I replace the html element from ajax response? What I know to is to remove the element, how do I replace that removed tag with ajax response? For example: I have code like this: <ul id="products"> ............... </ul> When I click on a button the ajax call is made to codeginter controller where I recieve the new data pulled from the database and rendered in another view which starts from ul and ends at closing ul. If you are going to use it in some real-world application then this mark-up gets even shorter – I am sure that in most cases the data you display in TreeView comes from database or some domain specific data source. Hacking TreeView TreeView needs some little hacking to make it work as client-side component. Be warned that if you need more than I show you here you need to write a lot of JavaScript code. For more advanced scenarios I suggest you to use some jQuery based tree component. This example works for you if you need something done quickly. Number one problem is getting over the postbacks because in our scenario postbacks only screw up things. Also we need to find a way how to let our client-side code to know that something was selected from TreeView. We solve these to problems at same time: let’s move to JavaScript links. We have to make sure that when user clicks the node then information is sent to some JavaScript function. Also we have to make sure that this function returns something that is not processed by browser. Instead of postback our callback function is used and provided with selected values. In this function we are free to use node text and value as we like. Result I applied some more bells and whistles and sample data to source code to make my sample more informative. So, here is my final dialog box. Seems very basic but it is not hard to make it look more professional using style sheets. Conclusion jQuery components and ASP.NET controls have both their strong sides and weaknesses. In this posting I showed you how you can quickly produce good results when combining jQuery  and ASP.NET controls without pushing to the limits. We used simple hack to get over the postback issue of TreeView control and we made it work as client-side component that is initialized in server. You can find many other good combinations that make your UI more user-friendly and easier to use.

• jQuery Connected Sortable Lists, Save Order to MySQL

  Hello Hoping that using something like this demo it is possible to drag items within and between two columns, and update their order either live or with a "save" button to MySQL. Point being that you can make changes and return to the page later to view or update your ordering. http://pilotmade.com/draggable2.html Doing it for just one column is fine, but when I try to pass the order of both columns, the issue seems to be passing multiple serialized arrays with jQuery to a PHP/MySQL update script. Any insight would be much appreciated.

• How do I memoize expensive calculations on Django model objects?

  I have several TextField columns on my UserProfile object which contain JSON objects. I've also defined a setter/getter property for each column which encapsulates the logic for serializing and deserializing the JSON into python datastructures. The nature of this data ensures that it will be accessed many times by view and template logic within a single Request. To save on deserialization costs, I would like to memoize the python datastructures on read, invalidating on direct write to the property or save signal from the model object. Where/How do I store the memo? I'm nervous about using instance variables, as I don't understand the magic behind how any particular UserProfile is instantiated by a query. Is __init__ safe to use, or do I need to check the existence of the memo attribute via hasattr() at each read? • Dijit.Dialog 1.4, setting size is limited to 600x400 no matter what size I set it.

  I'm trying to set the size of a dijit.Dialog, but it seems limited to 600x400, no matter what size I set it. I've copied the code from dojocampus and the dialog appear, but when i set the size larger, it only shows 600x400. Using firebug and selecting items inside the dialog, I see that they are larger than the dialog, but don't show correctly. I set it up to scroll, but the bottom of the scrollbar is out of view. In firebug, I've check the maxSize from _Widget and it is set to infinity. • Rails paperclip problem

  I have uploaded the video into my rails application by using thoughtbot-paperclip then the video is converted into "flv" format by using ffmpeg. For your reference here I specified some of my model sample code: model.rb: has_attached_file :source,:styles => {:thumb => "137x85>" } If i specified :url or :path option it doesn't worked correctly. In my view I played my video by using the following line: <%= @model.source.url.gsub(/\?.*/,'')%> If i use <%= @model.source.url%>, the video is not played. When do the puts for video url it shows me the video URL as /source/original/sample/sample.fly?22000009. I knew that the last portion is a timestamp, but i want to use <%= @model.source.url%>. What's my mistake here can any one correct me please?

• What's the best way to normalize scores for ranking things?

  hi all, I'm curious how to do normalizing of numbers for a ranking algorithm let's say I want to rank a link based on importance and I have two columns to work with so a table would look like url | comments | views now I want to rank comments higher than views so I would first think to do comments*3 or something to weight it, however if there is a large view number like 40,000 and only 4 comments then the comments weight gets dropped out. So I'm thinking I have to normalize those scores down to a more equal playing field before I can weight them. Any ideas or pointers to how that's usually done? thanks

  I'm doing a study on large Java projects and would like to view the source code for Eclipse. I have gone to this url (http://wiki.eclipse.org/index.php/CVS_Howto) and figured that the most useful cvs repository for me to look at would be this one: :pserver:[email protected]:/cvsroot/eclipse (The Eclipse platform project) However, when looking at this repository, it has so many modules! Which modules should I be trying to check out? I don't necessarily want to build the IDE from source, however, I just want to get the core Eclipse code base to perform some analysis. Would I just check out any modules starting with "org.eclipse..."? Should I be checking out any of the others? Or is there an easier way to get the source? I read somewhere that you can get the source from the binary version of Eclipse but I am unsure where to find the source.

  Tableau is extremely flexible when it comes to visualizing and playing around with datasets, but it is extremely slow when you go into "production mode" and publish a particular view that you've created onto your server. Does anyone know of any tools that can be used to connect to a database, present interactive (or somewhat interactive) dashboards, and perform reasonably well when published to a server? To be clearer, I am looking for something like this -- http://www.corda.com/executive-dashboard-graph-styles.php. I realize that such a product might not exist.   Hello, I was wondering if there is a way to get the URL of the returned resource after a AJAX call in JavaScript? I want to use this with a form, which is in "mysite.com/users/add.html". This is a Spring MVC controller. If the validation of the form fails the controller will return the "users/add" view, but if the validation is OK it will do a redirect to "mysite.com/users/index.html", using return new ModelAndView(new RedirectView("/users/index.html")); Is there a way in JavaScript to find the URL of the returned page?   2 questions: question 1: under what circumstances would this[O(f(n))=O(k.f(n))] be the most appropriate form of time-complexity analysis? question 2: working from mathematical definition of O notation, show that O(f(n))=O(k.f(n)), for positive constant k.? My view: For the first one I think it is average case and worst case form of time-complexity. am i right? and what else do i write in that? for the second one I think we need to define the function mathematically, so is the answer something like because the multiplication by a constant just corresponds to a readjustment of value of the arbitrary constant 'k' in definition of O.

• Django ORM and PostgreSQL connection limits

  I'm running a Django project on Postgresql 8.1.21 (using Django 1.1.1, Python2.5, psycopg2, Apache2 with mod_wsgi 3.2). We've recently encountered this lovely error: OperationalError: FATAL: connection limit exceeded for non-superusers I'm not the first person to run up against this. There's a lot of discussion about this error, specifically with psycopg, but much of it centers on older versions of Django and/or offer solutions involving edits to code in Django itself. I've yet to find a succinct explanation of how to solve the problem of the Django ORM (or psycopg, whichever is really responsible, in this case) leaving open Postgre connections. Will simply adding connection.close() at the end of every view solve this problem? Better yet, has anyone conclusively solved this problem and kicked this error's ass?

  Hello, I am wondering how to limit the amount of tags, the tag_cloud function returns for this plugin. http://github.com/collectiveidea/acts-as-taggable-on Also, I would like to know how to order it so that it orders the tags by the highest count. So the most popular are at the top. I tried to do @tags = Post.tag_counts_on(:tags, :limit = 5) but that did not work. • C#: Recurrence Calandar issue of Lotus notes

  Hi all, I am creating a Recurrence pattern in calendar items. But there is a issue as before clicking "Save and Send Invitations" button of Lotus notes 8.5, i am able to view the "RepeatForUnit" field from document property and based on its value i am identifying the Recurrence type like (D: for daily, W: for Weekly, M: for monthly etc). But, After clicking on the "Save and Send Invitations" button, the Recurrence is getting saved but after that, i am unable to get the "RepeatForUnit" field in Document Properties. Kindly help me, how to identify the Recurrence type and the related fields. Note: I am using Domino.dll using C#.
