  • How do the versions of Guava work?

    I would like to use Guava in a project, but my PM doesn't like the "r05" suffix, saying that it looks like it's not stable. In fact, the part I need is only the Google-Collections 1.0 which is now deprecated (my PM doesn't like that word either). So I don't really get the versioning of Guava/Google-Collections. I'm currently doing the development with GC1.0, but if possible I'll switch to a more recent and stable version.

    I am working on a project on survivable multicasting.I want to propose a hybrid scheme(protection and restoration) for that purpose.Can anyone help me with an approach to decide protection points in a multicast tree??(The protection points will be those points upto which there will be an alternate path from the multicast source(protection) and from protection point to the multicast destination the path will be dynamically restored.).Pls suggest an approach to find the protection points.I found an approach name caterpillar tree which assigns the nodes on the spine of caterpillar tree as protection points.Is there any other such approach..?

    As you see from the title, I want to ask that the case of in maven3 there is no support for $version in pom.xml anymore. Do we have to really write a constant every time in each project in every pom.xml and related configuration files again and again? How can we avoid doing this?   • Jruby rspec to be run parallely

    Hi. Is there something like Spork for Jruby too? We want to parallelize our specs to run faster and pre-load the classes while running the rake task; however we have not been able to do so. Since our project is considerable in size, specs take about 15 minutes to complete and this poses a serious challenge to quick turnaround. Any ideas are more than welcome. Cheers

    hi i wonder if there are some GUI softwares to administrate a svn repo? or do you actually have to log into the ubuntu server with ssh and use all the svn commands to copy the trunk to a branch, merge the data back and forth, copy to a tag, delete and so on. im using netbeans in mac. i think it's only handling the communication between a local project and the repo. not the flows between trunc, branch and tag (creating, deleting, viewing differences etc)

    I am about to launch a beta site, and heroku looks like a great option. The only think that is getting me down is that the only search option is $20/mth for the Websolr add-on. I am sure that Websolr is great, but at this very early point in this project, I rather not light up that expense. Are there any free search options to couple with heroku's Blossom (free) plan. I feel like such a cheapskate!

Now I wish to add files that exist in another folder on my machine... but I keep getting the following: fatal: pathspec 'Users/mic/OnePageCRMVC/MKTsite25-05/index.html' did not match any files However, the file definitely does exist...     I have inherited a SSIS project. I have never worked with SSIS before, and the one thing that seems strange to me, is that there is no way to manage multiple configurations. For each SSIS package we have 3 delpoyment environments, DEV, UAT and PRODUCTION. At the moment I am having to edit the configuration for every package we deploy manually for each change (and there are a lot of packages). Does anyone know of a more graceful way to handle these configuration changes?
