• Problem with outputting html via AJAX

  Hello I am new to JS and AJAX, but I have to do my homework. I choose jQuery, so it little easy now. I want to get a html via AJAX request, but in result it looks, ex: <fieldset id=\"item4\" class=\"item\"><legend>Odno\u015bnik 4<\/legend> I set response content-type to text/html.   I have windows 2008 r2 installed on my server, so iis 7.5 is. I am not able run any of the class.net applications on iis. one of the compression modules throws exception. • Wordpress: Issues trying to display all comments in one page

  Hi, I'm trying to modify my wordpress theme (inove) to display all comments in the same page instead of 50 comments per page. I opened the comments.php file, commented out calls to paginate_comments_links() and and set the wp_list_comments() as follows: wp_list_comments('type=comment&callback=custom_comments&per_page=100&page=1'); The problem is, whenever someone posts a comments, the comment form appends '/comment-page-2/' to the URL after submitting the comment, even though I've specified that all comments to be displayed on the same page. Any idea what I could be missing? Appreciate your help

  I'm writing a controller helper that sets the proper response headers for my REST controller action. It's pasted below and should be simplified enough for those who aren't familiar with Zend Framework to understand what I'm doing. My question is: Are these codes correct for their respective responses, and in the case of "access denied" do I use a 401 or 403? • getting error 500 with .htaccess when pointing an existing file / folder (mod_rewrite)

  i made a simple .htaccess file to expose the problem. I want that all request made to the folder redirect to a subfolder file "app/index.php" RewriteEngine On RewriteRule (.*) app/index.php [QSA] And this works fine on with the basic url of my hoster (like http//myname.hosting.com/htaccessFolder The problem is that i have a domain pointing on this folder, and when accessed to it, server return Internal Server Error 500. If i do this : RewriteEngine On RewriteRule (.*) somefile.php [QSA] Redirection works only when file does not exists (404 not found error occured). when the file exists i get a 500 error too. I've asked the hosting support without success for the moment..

• Should i use TabContainer for multiple pages?

  I'm considering if it is a good idea to use an ASP.Net TabContainer-Control in the way that every TabPanel contains content of a different page. For example: Next i want to implement in my application is the masterdata management. Normally i would create one aspx page for every masterdata-table (f.e. Customer - MD_Customer.aspx). Then i would add a link into my Menu to this page. Now i'm thinking of creating one aspx page for all(Masterdata.aspx) with a Tabcontainer and an UpdatePanel for every type of Masterdata. The link it the menu could have an additional MDType as URL-Parameter. My main concerns are related to performance(one "page" for every TabPanel currently means 7 "pages" in one) and maintainability because of increasing complexity. Is it a good approach or a bad idea? • building an XML service parsing library

  This is more of a design question I suppose. My company offers a web service to our client that spits data out in a custom xml format. I'd like to build a java library we can offer so our customers can just feed it the url and we will turn it into a set of POJOs built from the response. I can obviously just create a library that will do some simple xml parsing and building of the POJOs but I'm looking to build something a bit more robust. My brain is pulling me in a million directions, wondering if anyone has some pointers or some code to poke at. Was thinking about adding an Abdera extension, but it's not really a syndication format that fits the Abdera model. And most of the popular service libraries (twitter, facebook) all rely on standards format parsers, of which our format isn't.

• AutoComplete textbox and "Hide Pointer While Typing" in windows

  How can the "Hide Pointer While Typing" option be disabled by application? I'm having an issue with the cursor hiding and not getting it back without pressing escape or losing window focus. The application has been written in C# and uses WPF. A technology specific answer is not required because it'll likely be possible using any technology. Here's the scenario: A user can type in a TextBox and an AutoComplete list shows up below the box. Once the user starts typing though, he/she can no longer select an item from the drop down because there is no mouse cursor. I noticed that Firefox does not have this behavior. For example, while typing in a URL in the address bar the mouse cursor never disappears. There are other places I've seen this behavior so I know it must be possible. Any help is greatly appreciated!

• Centralized way of organizing urls in Jersey?

  Forgive me if I am asking an obvious question (maybe I missed it in the docs somewhere?) but has anyone found a good way to organize their URLs in Jersey Java framework? I mean organizing them centrally in your Java source code, so that you can be sure there are not two classes that refer to the same Url. For example django has a really nice regex-based matching. I was thinking of doing something like an enum: enum Urls{ CARS ("cars"), CAR_INFO ("car", "{info}"); public Urls(String path, String args) ... } but you can imagine that gets out of hand pretty quickly if you have urls like: cars/1/wheels/3 where you need multiple path-ids interleaved with one another... Any tips?

I load the executed Fetchrequest into this NSArray "entityArray" This is what I do to display my data in a UITableView for example to display title in main cell: NSManagedObject *object = (NSManagedObject *)[entityArray objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]; cell.textLabel.text=[object valueForKey:@"title"]; Now I have no clue how to access my relationship image ([object valueForKey:@"image"]), because it contains more than just a string.

• Client side validation script dissapears with $.ajax()

  In my javascript file I'm getting the content of a partial with the following call: $.ajax({ type: "GET", url: value.href.replace(actionType, actionType + 'Partial'), dataType: "html", success: function(result) { $("#DepartmentsAction").html(result); alert(result); } }); Because the partial has the call Html.EnableClientValidation() the resulting html has a static script in it. In the result variable in the ajax call this script is present. In the page where the html gets inserted (#DepartmentsAction) the script has dissapeared. What am I doing wrong?

• Graphical Submit button doesn't 'post' in Firefox or IE

  I've looked all over the net to try and solve this problem, but I can't find any solutions. So far, I've checked 3 different browsers. It does not work on IE or FireFox, but it works just fine in Safari. Here's the problem. When I click the button to submit my form, it forwards me to the 'post' URL page - INSTEAD of posting the data, and going to the thank you page like the script commands. • Create web page launcher, losing focus

  I have created a php webpage. I now want to create a launcher application in android phone, it simply opens the browser with the url "http://<mywebsite>/m". I use uri intent to launch the browser in onCreate function. public void onCreate(...) { .... startActivity(new Intent(Intent.ACTION_VIEW, new Uri(http://<mywebsite>/m))); ... } I execute this program in my G1 phone (Cyan Mod 5). However, when I click the "Home" key, and then re-enter my application through Task list, I lose focus for my last started browser, and the screen blank Any suggestion?! Should I need any code in onResume function to re-focus my web!?

• Running out of memory when getting a bitmap from a server?

After many images the creation of a bitmap returns an exception, but i don't know how to solve this. • How to add parameters to a HTTP GET request in Android?

  I have a HTTP GET request that I am attempting to send. I tried adding the parameters to this request by first creating a BasicHttpParams object and adding the parameters to that object, then calling setParams( basicHttpParms ) on my HttpGet object. This method fails. But if I manually add my parameters to my URL (i.e. append '?param1=value1&param2=value2') it succeeds. I know I'm missing something here and any help would be greatly appreciated. • "Send it to a friend" button on a webpage

  Hey, How often do we see stuff like "Send this page to a friend" on a webpages? Well, I see them quite often. My question is, how do you guys see it's effectiveness? If I hit a webpage that's interesting, and I think my friend would enjoy it, I can just copy the URL from my browser bar, paste it into the email and press "Send" button. In my opinion, it's usually faster and less mistake-aware then the button/link like this on the webpage. In addition, I'm not really sure what this website does with the emails I enter there - don't they store it and then sell for $1/100 addresses to spammers? My question is - when you design a website, do you put such links on the pages (it's often seen on sites with some news/articles)? Does it even make sense?

  I dont have any experience for web services. please give me some suggestion about the task below. the task is: users will send a txt file (size should less than 20K ) from a .NET application, I need to write a web services which runs by jboss 5.x to read this file and edit this file and send the file back to .NET UI to display the edited version. question is that if the txt file is just test string or binary string, are there any restriction of the string length? if it's binary string, can I need to use BinaryReader class to read it? or not need special reader to read it? (this could be a dumn question :P) what if the .NET application can save the file on either the .NET application server or some shared server location, send a download URL to web serivces, can web services download it and read it? JBoss will be run on Linux sever. After edit the file, how do I send it back? Thanks for your help!

• How can I convince IE to simply display application/json rather than offer to download it?

  While debugging jQuery apps that use AJAX, I often have the need to see the json that is being returned by the service to the browser. So I'll drop the URL for the JSON data into the address bar. This is nice with ASPNET because in the event of a coding error, I Can see the ASPNET diagostic in the browser: But when the server-side code works correctly and actually returns JSON, IE prompts me to download it, so I can't see the response. Can I get IE to NOT do that, in other words, to just display it as if it were plain text? I know I could do this if I set the Content-Type header to be text/plain. But this is specifically an the context of an ASPNET MVC app, which sets the response automagically when I use JsonResult on one of my action methods. Also I kinda want to keep the appropriate content-type, and not change it just to support debugging efforts.
