  Just installed and migrated a 2008 solution on Vista ultimate 64 and .net 4.0. Everything builds and test run surprisingly well but I got the hang description below while trying to run the app under SQLite (ran fine. Any clues? • Puttting together binding navigators in a project

  I am working on a group project in vb.net, in which all my team members are working on individual tables of a database. All of us are using binding navigator,where the GUI is created by drag and drop from the table. Is it possible to attach all these pieces together with imports or references? Will the changes made to the database while working on the program like table adapter can create problem? Do I need to make all those changes in database before importing ? Can you please give suggestions to put the project together.

• Interacting with java code from C#

  We've written a Java program which we are looking to use and interact with from C#. What are our options? Optimally it would be possible to compile the Java application as a library (.DLL) that we could reference from C# perhaps using P/Invoke. This, however, doesn't appear to be an option according to the first few searches online. We opt to be able to use ASP.NET to built a search engine powered by the Java code, so if this opens up for any other options please let us know.

  I'm trying to follow this documentation on Symfony : http://symfony.com/doc/current/book/forms.html ok so here is my thing, I've externalised my form and created a specific form class for handling the process and being able to reuse it. Should I reinstall it ? When I go here : http://php.net/manual/en/intl.requirements.php I see tht i can install the PECL or the ICU library, but i don't know if I should and if there is any relation with my problem .. • .NET --- Textbox control - wait till user is done typing

  Greetings all, Is there a built in way to know when a user is done typing into a textbox? (Before hitting tab, Or moving the mouse) I have a database query that occurs on the textchanged event and everything works perfectly. However, I noticed that there is a bit of lag of course because if a user is quickly typing into the textbox the program is busy doing a query for each character. So what I was hoping for was a way to see if the user has finished typing. So if they type "a" and stop then an event fires. However, if they type "all the way" the event fires after the y keyup. I have some ideas floating around my head but I'm sure they aren't the most efficient. Like measuring the time since the last textchange event and if it was than a certain value then it would proceed to run the rest of my procedures. let me know what you think. • Where are the static methods in gcc's dump file.c.135r.jump

  When I run gcc with the parameter -fdump-rtl-jump, I get a dump file with the name file.c.135r.jump, where I can read some information about the intermediate representation of the methods in my C or C++ file. I just recently discovered, that the static methods of a project are missing in this dump file. Do you know, why they are missing in that representation and if there is a possibility to include the static methods in this file, too. Update (some additional information): The test program, I'm using here, is the Hybrid OpenMP MPI Benchmark. Update2: I just reproduced the problem with a serial application, so it has nothing to do with parallel sections.

• Python Daemon Subprocess not working at boot

  I am attempting to write a python daemon that will launch at boot. The goal of the script is to receive a job from our gearman load balancing server and complete the job. I am using the python-daemon module from pypi (http://pypi.python.org/pypi/python-daemon/). The nature of the job that it is completing is converting images in the orf (olympus raw image format) to jpeg. In order to accomplish this an outside program is used, ufraw in this case. The problem comes in when I start the daemon at boot, if I launch from the shell it runs perfectly and completes the work. When it starts at boot it is unable to launch the subprocess command. commandString = '/usr/bin/ufraw-batch --interpolation=four-color --wb=camera --compression=100 --output="' + outfile + '" --out-type=jpg --overwrite "' + infile + '"' args = shlex.split(commandString) process = subprocess.Popen(args).wait() I am not sure what I am doing wrong. • Simple Windows.Forms binding is failing using framework 4.0.

  This works under the .net framework 3.5 client. This fails under the .net framework 4.0 client. Was I doing something that was illegal under 3.5 but just happened to work, or is this a bug? • Limitation of Attachment size when using SMTP

  Hi, I wrote a C++ program to send a mail using SMTP. But when I attach any files I notices that a single file's size always is limited to 808 bytes. As an example if I send a text file with 10 KBs, when I download the attachment it has only text worth 808 bytes. If the large file is a zip file, it gets corrupted in unzipping obviously due to CRC failure. I used a MAPI library to send larger files without a problem. Is this a network limitation of SMTP? Can someone please explain why this is happening?? Thank You!!!

• Why can't QFile read from the "~" directory?

  I've tried the following short example to find out about a bug in a bigger program I am working on. It looks like QFile doesn't support unix (or the shell's) notation for the home directory: #include <QFile> #include <QDebug> int main() { QFile f("~/.vimrc"); if (f.open(QIODevice::ReadOnly)) { qDebug() << f.readAll(); f.close(); } else { qDebug() << f.error(); } } As soon as I replace the "~" with my real home directory path, it works. Is there an easy workaround - some setting to enable? Or do I have to go the "ugly" way and ask QDir for the home directory of the current user and prepend that manually to each path?

  I had to solve this question in which given a string, i had to return the first non repeating character present in the string. I solved it using hashtable and wrote a method which takes a constant reference to the string and returns the first non repeating character. However, when there is no non repeating character present in the string, i return -1 and in the main program i check as follows char c = firstNonRepeating( word ); if (static_cast<int> (c) == -1) cout<<"no non repeating character present\n"; else cout<<c<<endl; is that the correct way to return -1 when required character is not present?

I've migrated the class to IronPython, created a library assembly and referenced it. Now, how do I actually get an instance of that class? The program has 3 buttons: 1) for folder browsing, 2) scan for the selected folder content, and 3) open the file. When user browse the selected folder*(1), user click scan button to scan from the first file until the last available files and listed it text box(2)* and from that user can decide whether to open the files or not*(3)*. I got to do some validation in my program where I got to compare the clients request set with the registered internal capability set. I thought of doing by having internal capability set sorted(will not change once registered) and do Binary search for each element in the client's request set. Is it the best I could get? I'd like to evaluate f[x,y] where x runs over the list l1 and y runs over the list l2, and I'd like to do it without having to make all pairs of the form {l1[[i]],l2[[j]]}. • Issues with the [embed] tag and fonts

  Hi, I have some issue with the [embed] tag. Even if I set the embedFonts property of the textfield to true the text doesn't show up. The thing is that it worked previously and after some changes (not related to fonts) it doesn't. I'd like to understand how the embed process for font works to find the error in my code. I declare : [Embed(source = 'asset/font.ttf', fontName="font", mimeType="application/x-font-truetype")] private static var font:String; to assign the font to the program. Then i call "font" when declaring my textFormat. Is the "fontName" property the link with the textformat ? • Avoiding string copying in Lua

  Say I have a C program which wants to call a very simple Lua function with two strings (let's say two comma separated lists, returning true if the lists intersect at all, false if not). The obvious way to do this is to push them onto the stack with lua_pushstring, which works fine, however, from the doc it looks like lua_pushstring but makes a copy of the string for Lua to work with. That means that to cross over to the Lua function is going to require two string copies which I could avoid by rewriting the Lua function in C. Is there any way to arrange things so that the existing C strings could be reused on the Lua side for the sake of performance (or would the strcpy cost pale into insignificance anyway)? From my investigation so far (my first couple of hours looking seriously at Lua), lite userdata seems like the sort of thing I want, but in the form of a string.

  Normally people say MFC is little clumsy. It makes UI developement slightly difficult to maintain since it has lot of auto generated code. It has good architecture (doc/view) but is not transparent like Win32 programming to understand how window program works in the background. So with this situation, is it good to extend the exposure on MFC programming or better to switch to .NET since for faster UI design with ease in maintenance. How globally companies are looking into MFC as a technology for UI developments. Are they comfortable in supporting their developers to continue with MFC or looking for changing their development technology.

• Programming with midi, and tuning notes to specific frequencies

  I am working on a project in which I need to be able to generate midi notes of varying frequencies with as much accuracy as possible. I originally tried to write my program in Java, but it turns out that the sound.midi package does not support changing the tunings of notes unless the frequencies are Equal Tempered frequencies (or at least it didn't in 1.4, and I haven't been able to find evidence that this has been fixed in recent versions). I have been trying to find a more appropriate language/library to accomplish this task, but since this is my first time programming with MIDI and my need for specific tuning functionality is essential, I have been having considerable trouble finding exactly what I need. I am looking for advice from people who have experience writing MIDI programs as to what languages are useful, especially for tuning notes to specific frequencies. Any links to websites with API docs and example code would also be extremely helpful.

I can output the content of eax with section .bss reg_buf: resb 4 . . . print_register: mov [reg_buf], eax mov eax, SYS_WRITE mov ebx, SYS_OUT mov ecx, reg_buf mov edx, 4 int 80h ret Let's say eax contains 0x44444444 then the output would be "DDDD". Apparently each pair of "44" is interpreted as 'D'. My ASCII table approves this. But how do I get my program to output the actual register content (0x44444444)?
