• ASP.NET : What exactly is affected when Javascript is off?

  I've heard different stories about ASP.NET and JavaScript: that it works fine with Javascript turned off, that only some parts don't work, and that nothing works at all. How exactly are ASP.NET applications affected if JavaScript is turned off in a client's browser? What parts don't work (if any)? For example, will RequiredFieldValidators still work? What about UploadControls? AJAX UpdatePanels and AsyncPostBack's? FileUploads? Do page codebehinds still run? Forgive my ignorance, I can't seem to find much about the issue that is in-depth.

• Sync framework 2.0 smart device to server

  We have a requirement very similar to that shown in the Occasionally Connected Application (OCA) diagram on the Introduction to Sync Framework Database Synchronization article. We can't however find any examples on how the clients at the bottom are syncing between each other. Particularly, how a smart device syncs with another client each having a local .sdf database. There are lots of examples of a smart device to a server over wcf where the server is running full sql but not smart device to server with local cache. Does anyone have any ideas or examples. Thanks

  Hi folks, We're working to build the front-end of our application and struggling with selecting a good UI framework since we're not experienced UI people (we're mainly back-end developers). The central issue is that we don't know what we don't know and don't know how to best weigh our different options. At the moment, we're evaluating Flex, ExtJS, and Vaadin.   I found myself needing a simple generic interface, and I wrote it, but it turned out to be pretty much the world's simplest interface. I was wondering if it already exists by some other name. I just want to make sure I'm not reinventing something that is already included with the .NET framework. interface IReceiver<T> { void Receive(T obj); } I can't really find a good list of "standard" interfaces that came with .NET. Does the structure of this interface look familiar to anyone? Have I reinvented something that is already standard? EDIT: I have a data object and a number of objects interested in receiving the data. Objects interested in receiving the data implement the interface, so that 'routing' lists and maps can send the data to them. The idea is full generalization in the routing, the routing will be data-driven.
