• Android API Target Level 5 and 6 for Ubuntu

  Today i installed Ubuntu 10.4 and Eclipse Galileo. Then I downloaded the Android SDK and tried to install all packages via the Android SDK Tools. But unfortunately, only the Target Levels 3, 4, 7 and 8 were available. API Level 5 and 6 are missing. Does anybody know the reason for this? I already did a Google search and there seems to be nobody with the same problem. I also tried to restart it and nothing happens, the API Levels are still missing.

• How can I create a profiler GUI in WPF?

  I am looking to create a task profiler in WPF with an UI similar to the one of incredibuild. Eg, timed tasks appear as strips on their respective line. Have a look at: http://baoz.net/wp-content/2009/06/ib1.png to see what I mean. I am unsure what the best way to tackle this problem is? Should I override the Panel class creating a custom layout panel for this or might there be an existing control/library out there that can fit my needs. I have so far had a look at various charting controls but am unsure of weither they can be tweaked to achieve this behaviour or not. I am really hoping for someone who has been using WPF for a while to help me narrow down my search. It is not exactly easy to know what to google for either :)

  I need to search through a directory which contains many sub directories, each which contain files. The files read as follows question1234_01, where 1234 are random digits and the suffix _01 is the number of messages that contain the prefix, meaning they are apart of the same continuing thread. find . -name 'quest*' | cut -d_ -f1 | awk '{print $1}' | uniq -c | sort -n example output: 1 quest1234 10 quest1523 This searches for all the files then sorts them in order. What I want to do is print all the files which end up having the most occurrences, in my example the one with 10 matches. So it should only output quest1523_01 - 11

My question is (1) Are there any existing open source python package or modules or application which implements this functionality that I can use or study from? (2) If the answer to the first question is NO. which algorithm should I follow to create such web application? Can I simply use the python built-in dictionary object for this job? so that the dictionary object's key will be the english word and the value will be the explanation. is this OK in term of performance?   Some of my users download several pdf files from an internet website regularly. They'd like to automate the process to save a few minutes every day, and most importantly, to minimize errors. I tried mechanize but failed as mechanize does not process javascripts. Since the download links in the remote site are all triggered by javescript, I am looking for solutions to automate the browser itself. I search here (Stackoverflow) and internet and found nothing in how to fix this. Any one else have this problem? Or, are there any other ideas on how to let the application know that the DB is ready?

But it looks like blackberry doesn't have an internal api for creating single line Edit field. I have created a Custom Field by extending BasciEditField overriding methods like layout, paint. In paint i am drawing a rectangle with getpreferred width and height. But the cursor is coming at default position (top-left) in Edit Field. Can any body tell me how i can draw it where my text is(i.e in middle of Edit Field by calling drwaText()). Thanks,

I need to use TreeSet and I can't use contains because they use compareTo, and equals/compareTo pair are implemented in an incompatible way and I can't change that. For example, if I were looking for "p2", then I would like to know that "s1" has "p2, p7, p8" and "s3" has "p2, p5". Please let me know if you require any more information.   In my JSP page I am using post method while submitting the page. So once I go from Page 1 to page 2. In Page 2, If I press F5 I am getting alert as "To display this page, Firefox must send information that will repeat any action (such as a search or order confirmation) that was performed earlier." I knew this question is a bit sarcastic but please give me an Idea. I can't change my method from POST to GET because I need to send large amount of data. Thanks in advance... Edited: In my Page1.JSP I call onClick function in that function I call action as "/page2servlet.do". Now, In Java side I use Spring Framework. With MVC Object I return to page2.jsp.   When indexing a couchdb view, you can emit an array as the key such as: emit(["one", "two", "three"], doc); I appreciate the fact that when searching the view, the order is important, but sometimes I would like the view to ignore it. I have thought of a couple of options. 1. By convention, just emit the contents in alphabetical order, and ensure that looking up uses the same convention. 2. Somehow hash in a manner that disregards the order, and emit/search based on that hash. (This is fairly easy, if you simply hash each one individually, "sum" the hashes, then mod.) Note: I'm sure this may be covered somewhere in the authoritative guide, but I was unsuccessful in finding it.

  Hi, I want to develope a graphicintensive application. It should be hardwareaccelerated with DirectX. Also it must looking good, so I use a LayeredWindow for nice shadoweffects. But now I have a big problem, because I cannot draw with DX on a LayeredWindow. So I search for a possibility to render with DX into a bitmap, so I can use it for the layeredwindow. I found a way to get a stream of the rendersurface, but this brings up my processor to 100%, because I must render the layeredwindow up to 75 times per second. Thank you, if you can help me, or you know a better way to draw with DirectX a Window with unregular Border and Shadows.

  We have a PostgreSQL database. And we have several tables which need to keep certain data in several languages (the list of possible languages is thankfully system-wide defined). For example lets start with: create table blah (id serial, foo text, bar text); Now, let's make it multilingual. How about: create table blah (id serial, foo_en text, foo_de text, foo_jp text, bar_en text, bar_de text, bar_jp text); That would be good for full-text search in Postgres. Just add a tsvector column for each language. But is it optimal? Maybe we should use another table to keep the translations? Like: create table texts (id serial, colspec text, obj_id int, language text, data text); Maybe, just maybe, we should use something else - something out of the SQL world? Any help is appreciated.

• Best way to manage the persistence of a form state, to and from a database

  In a JSP/Servlet webapp, I have to implement a functionality that allows a user to save or restore a form state, that latter containing for instance some search criteria. In other words, the user must be able to save or restore field values of a form, at any time. On the same page that contains that form, there's also another little form that allows him to name his form state before saving it. Then, later he'll be able to recall that state, via a combobox, and refill dynamically the form with the state he selected. I know how to implement that by hand but I would prefer not to reinvent the wheel then I'd like to know if there are some frameworks managing that kind of functionality ? A mix between JSP taglib, filter class, jQuery or other JavaScript frameworks... My research has not give anything yet. Thank you in advance.

• Searching for URL's Relative to Site Root in Javascript Source

  Hi, I am working on a web site with several other developers and we have had problems where people commit JavaScript code with AJAX calls that use URL's relative to the site root. An example would be /Home/Index which will not work if the site is hosted in a virtual directory. To get round the problem we use a $.url() method to convert it to a full path, e.g. $("#container").load($.url("/Home/Index")) I am trying to write a unit test that will search each JavaScript file and find places where the $.url method is not being used. The only problem is that I cannot seem to write a regex expression to do this. I have tried the following: (?!\$\.url\()"(/\w*)+" But this does not work. I cannot find a way to say that I don't want the $.url in front. Does anyone know if this is possible? Note that I need regular expressions that are compatible with .NET Thanks.

• How do I quiet image_submit_tag from params hash?

  Does anyone know how to eliminate the x and y params when you use image_submit_tag with a get method? I have a simple search form, and using get to pass the value in the url. When I use image_submit_tag, it also appends the x and y coords, so I get urls like http://example.com?q=somesearchterm&x=15&y=12 When I have used submit_tag, I can use the :name = nil attribute (was in one of Ryan Bates' Railscasts), but it doesn't seem to work for image_submit_tag. Granted it doesn't affect functionality, but I don't need them and would like them quieted.

• Any way to make GetTypes() less brittle.

  I'm iterating through all the types in GAC, GAC_32 and GAC_MSIL looking for specific types, fundamentally to match those using clauses in my source code, so when I compile the source. I'll know exactly what assembly dll's to provide. I'm getting all the file names from each of those directory and applying GetTypes to each assembly in turn and comparing the returned types against my using list. But the problem I have is that GetTypes() keeps crapping out with an exception, when it can't load the types from a loaded assembly. Is their any way to make GetTypes() less brittle. For instance, when parsing this assembly on my box, {blbmmc, Version=6.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35}, it craps out. Any suggestions welcome. I know this is a fairly lengthly process, but I figure i'll eventually use a subset of common assemblies to search, or possibly cache the list of types-assembly dll name at program start. Thanks.

• Passing parameters among views in a navigation frame INSIDE a custom control

  I created a silverlight 3 application with a navigation frame and 3 views: search, add and edit. I used the app file to pass parameters among the 3 pages, eg: ((App)Application.Current).SNIPSELECTED = currentSnip; Then in the receiving page: currentSnip = ((App)Application.Current).SNIPSELECTED; currentSnip is a SnipItem object: public class SnipItem { public string itemID {get;set;} public string category {get;set;} public string itemDescription {get;set;} public string codeSnip {get;set;} } This worked fine until I decided to make this entire application into a user control and put that inside a second silverlight application with its own navigation frame and app file. The app files are getting confused. The first app file with all my parameter passing is not being read. I know how to pass a simple parameter between views in the first application without the app file (in a query string), but how about these custom types like my currentSnip above?
