  Hello there, Does anyone tell me if it's possible to use WCF without .NET 3.0? Our company develops a 3-tier client-server end-user solution based on .Remoting. One of the limitation of our project is using .NET 2.0. Unfortunately .NET 3.0 framework is too large to be included in our installation package and I don't know if MS license allows this. But WCF might helps us to drastically reduce our efforts in some tasks. Does anyone have a chance to use WCF from Mono? Thanks in advance -- Murat

  Hello, I have a form that is generated on a customer's website (lets say customer.com) with javascript that a user fills out and it sends to my site (app.com). I would like to be able to provide information to the customer such as how effective their AdWords campaign was and what search engines users used to end up filling out the form. I have started looking at the multiple domain linking option but I am not sure this is the right way. Is there a way to query what search engine and key words they used and pass this along with the form?

• Latex change color of intext citing with hyperref package and natbib

  I am using the natbib and hyperref package in conjunction with my latex document. I would like to change to the color of my hyppereferenced citations (the box around the citation) from the ugly baseline green to a more muted (violet or navy blue). However, in using the suggested code to do this, I can not get the citation link colors to change.   Hi I am am trying to complete an assignment, where it is ok to consult the online community. I have to create a graph class that ultimately can do Breadth First Search and Depth First Search. I have been able to implement those algorithms successfully however another requirement is to be able to get the successors and predecessors and detect if two vertices are either predecessors or successors for each other. I'm having trouble thinking of a way to do this. • MySQL and Matlab

  I want to interact with a MySQL database from Matlab. I found a mysql "library" for matlab here and the same on mathworks. I followed the instructions to compile the library and the compilation seems to be successful. I get a mex32 file at the end. Only, the instructions on the first page refer to a Dll that I need to use (I guess that a Dll was supposed to be generated). I am not familiar with the mex compiler or with compiling external modules for Matlab. Am I missing something trivial? Where is the Dll supposed to be? Thanks.

We are storing the hash and the binary file in a SQL DB. This works fine when we upload the same instance of a file. But when we save a new instance of the file from the DB (with today's date as the create/modify) on the file-system and then check the new hash versus the MD5 stored in the DB they do not match, and therefor fail a duplicate check. How can we check for a file hash excluding the file attributes? or is there a different issue here?

• WPF Visual States and the transitions between them

  I'm trying to define many different states in my app (around 7 in my case) and I have defined each one of them with a "Default Transition" of zero seconds, but the animation that accompanies each state goes for 1 second. When I fire up my app I have a button than goes through the states one by one, when I go "State1" - "State2" it looks perfect, but when I tell my app (which should be in State2 now) to go to "State3" it reverts all the objects in my scene back to their base state, and then animates to "State3", why doesnt it go from "State2" to "State3". I was hoping to only define each state's end position without defining a starting position as this would really take a long time to do. Can this be done? Any examples? Cheers, Mark

• Google Maps: How to prevent InfoWindow from shifting the map

I noticed that if I have a map marker near the edge of my map border ... that if I click the marker icon so that the InfoWindow will display, my entire map shifts so that the markers InfoWindow is centered. I don't want my map to shift. Question: How do I prevent the map from shifting when InfoWindows are near the end of the map border (which causes the InfoWindow by default to center & shift the map)?

  Hi folks, I'm trying to develop a GUI application for an embedded platform, without any windowing whatsoever and I'm doing that with DirectFB, and it suits my needs very fine. Since the embedded I develop for is not that powerful, I would really like to try to develop on my own Ubuntu desktop. The problem is Framebuffer is conflicting with X.org causing me to leave the whole desktop, and shutdown X.org just to see the result of my changes. Is there a good framebuffer simulator that suits my needs? Qt has one, called QVFb, but it only works for developing Qt apps, and the VNC back-end of DirectFB always crash. So, any ideas?

  Hi, I'm fairly new to Shoes and ran into two problems. First I want to set a mask using a partially transparent png, like this: mask do image "images/stencilMask.png" end Is this possible somehow or can only vector shapes be used? Apart from that, I noticed a small bug(?) when trying to set a transparent color as a stroke on any kind of text, like this: title "Hello", :stroke => rgb(1.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.5) The transparency simply isn't applied.   Hi. We have some Delphi code that uses the BDE to Access SQL Server 2008 through the SQL Server Native Client ODBC driver (2005 version). Our issue is that we're experiencing some deadlock issues in a loop doing inserts to multiple tables. The whole loop is done within a [TDatabase].StartTransaction. Looking at the SQL Server Profiler we clearly see that at one point during the loop the SPID (Session ID?) change, and then we naturally end up with a deadlock. (Both SPID doing inserts to the same table) It seems like the BDE at some point does a second connection to the DB... (Although I would love to skip the BDE, it's currently not possible. ) Anyone with experiences to share?

Is there any way of doing disable-output-escaping="yes" for the entire document?

If it has a NOT before word or quoted words it belongs to NotWords If it has 0 or more more spaces before the word or quoted phrase it belongs to AllWords. So the end result should be something similar to: AllWords: (energy, food, "olympics 2010") AnyWords: (terrorism, "government", cups) NotWords: (Transport) What would be a good way to do this?

• Convert data retrieved from MySQL database into JSON object using Python/Django

  I have a MySQL database called People which contains the following schema <id,name,foodchoice1,foodchoice2>. The database contains a list of people and the two choices of food they wish to have at a party (for example). I want to create some kind of Python web-service that will output a JSON object. An example of output should be like: { "guestlist": [ {"id":1,"name":"Bob","choice1":"chicken","choice2":"pasta"},{"id":2,"name":"Alice","choice1":"pasta","choice2":"chicken"} ], "partyname": "My awesome party", "day": "1", "month": "June", "2010": "null" } Basically every guest is stored into a dictionary 'guestlist' along with their choices of food. At the end of the JSON object is just some additional information that only needs to be mentioned once. The question that I have is regarding the method that I need to utilize to grab the data from my database, and create the JSON object. Do I need to use a standard Model/View structure of Django or can I get away with something that is much simpler since what I need to do is really simple?

  I'm working on a verification-tool for some VHDL-Code in MATLAB/Octave. Therefore I need data types which generate "real" overflows: intmax('int32') + 1 ans = -2147483648 Later on, it would be helpful if I can define the bit width of a variable, but that is not so important right now. When I build a C-like example, where a variable gets increased until it's smaller than zero, it spins forever and ever: test = int32(2^30); while (test > 0) test = test + int32(1); end Another approach I tried was a custom "overflow"-routine which was called every time after a number is changed. This approach was painfully slow, not practicable and not working in all cases at all. Any suggestions?

All I want to do is take a list of variables (that I define) and run the same procedure for them: pseudo-code - not really a good example, but gets the point across... for i in varlist['a','b','c'] do FREQUENCIES VARIABLES=varlist[i] / ORDER=ANALYSIS. end I've noticed that people seem to just use R or Python SPSS plugins to achieve this basic array functionality, but I don't know how soon I can get those configured (if ever) on my installation of SPSS. I'm trying to detect when a radio button is called (intRev_yes), check if a div is empty, slide down another div and then call a custome function which dynamically creates a date field. if(this.id=="intRev_yes"){ if($('div#mainField').is(':empty')){ $('.intRevSections').slideDown('slow',function(){ current=-1; addIrField(); }); } } When I alert out at each stage, after getting to the end (i.e. addIrField()), the script seems to go back to the slideDown() section and recalls addIrField(). I can't understand why, there are no loops. current is used as an index for the date field.

• Save a camera photo with an overlayed image - iphone SDK

  I think this should be simple but I am having some difficulty implementing it. I take a photo from the camera, the user can then move and scale it. They then choose "use" and they get a preview of their image. Now what I want to do is overlay an image on top of this preview image - which is also ok. But the part I am having difficulty is then I want to save the photo taken WITH the image that is over it into the library. I just have a UIView with my overlay image about the UIView where my camera photo is previewed. I guess I just need to take a screen capture of these? I don't want to loose resolution OR end up with my UI buttons etc in the final image. Any suggestions or links would be really useful. Thanks :-)

  I have this code set up to navigate to a certain .html document depending on what's selected from a ListBox: Private Sub FileList_SelectedIndexChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles FileList.SelectedIndexChanged HelpWindow.Navigate(System.AppDomain.CurrentDomain.BaseDirectory & "help\" & fileArray(FileList.SelectedIndex, 1)) End Sub The problem is, when I first select something in the ListBox, it successfully navigates to that file and displays it. But when I select something a second time it doesn't change. All of the paths it's trying to navigate to are correct. I've checked this 1000 times. Anyone have any clues why this isn't working?   Hi, We're having a lot of corrupted profiles lately on our profile share. At the moment I have no clue why, but I decided to switch to one mandatory profile since the users can all use the same and there is no need to have seperate profiles for each user. Here's what I did. I logged into the Terminal server with a new user and configured some stuff (imported certificates and a few files). Then I logged out. Later as admin I copied the profile to another server and renamed it to bsilo. I made sure the user hive settings were adjusted. Everyone had access to the hive. I shared the bsilo folder with full access for everyone. I set the NTFS permissions to read, read & execute, list folder contents for domain users. I also renamed NTUSER.DAT to NTUSER.MAN. Now I set a env variable %manprofile% on the Terminal server that points to \server\bsilo\ntuser.man I set the env var as terminal services profile path for a test user. When I log in I as the user get the following output The system cannot find the path specified. Can somebody point me in the right direction.
