  • How to manually throw a compiler error in GCC and Xcode

    In xcode, while compiling apps with gcc, I want to throw compilation time errors if things like NSZombieEnabled is on for a distribution release, thus ensuring that compilation will fail and I won't accidentally do something stupid. I did some googling, but could not figure out how to cause the compiler to bail if a certain condition is met. Surely it must be easy, am I just not finding it?

    I am looking through some example Fibonacci sequence clojure code: (def fibs (lazy-cat [1 2] (map + fibs (rest fibs)))) I generally understand what is going on, but don't quite understand the point of lazy-cat. I know that lazy-cat is a macro that is translating to something like this: (def fibs (concat (lazy-seq [1 2]) (lazy-seq (map + fibs (rest fibs))))) What exactly is lazy-seq accomplishing? It would still be evaluated lazily even without lazy-seq? Is this strictly for caching purposes?

    I find Vim's undo to be a bit too coarse. E.g. if I type something like this: a // to go into edit mode to be or not to ve <esc> // to exit insert mode Oops! I made a typo.     Let's say I want to allow my developers to upload their war files to a web app (not the application server itself) running on our intranet and that web app would then run those wars as if they were separate apps deployed individually in our J2EE container. In other words, we are not actually deploying the wars as separate apps in the container - they are simply running side-by-side inside this one web app that acts like a J2EE container. Is that possible? Something like a war virtualization app?

    If you've used GoToMeeting, that's the type of ID I want. I'd like it to be random so that it obfuscates the number of items being tracked and short, so that it's easy to reference manually; UUIDs are way too long. I'd like to avoid hitting persistent storage merely for performance reasons, but I can't think of any other way to avoid collisions. Is 9 digits enough to do something time-based?

    I currently have Magento 1.7 CE installed. I want to use the Magento Product Models, except I want to get the price for the product from an external API (our pricing exists outside of Magento). I know what I could use the Magento API to import all the prices from our existing database, but our pricing changes very often, and we would then need to maintain two databases. Basically I'm wondering if there is something in Magento I can overwrite to call our API instead of the DB?

But how is this done a on a windows? Ruby isn't a recognized internal command (as per the DOS output)? My question is, how can I use this code in my DataSource.
