    please explain how to get high capacity architectures with both the default asp.net web forms and mvc models with regard to being able to serve millions of page views. i want to know how to set up each model from DB clustering, to caching, logical/ physical tiers, load balancing iis servers, scaling out or up, session state management and so on... is one more scalable than the other? thanks all.

Now my ASP.NET MVC action just returns some special "success-JSON" and the user is redirected using Javascript. Is there any way to implement automatic redirect (without Javascript call)?

    I have an ASP.NET MVC application with a separate project added for tests. I know the plusses and minuses of using the connection to the database when running unit tests, and I still want to use it. Yet, every time when I run the tests with the NUnit tool, they all fail due to my Data Context being null. I heard something about having a separate config file for the tests assembly, but i am not sure whether I did it properly, or whether that works at all.

    Hi, now this is probably an stupid question but i'm new to mvc and can't seem to get it working. Here is what i would like to be able to do with the urls/routes: 1) www.domain.com/name/home/index 2) www.domain.com/home/index where both the home controllers are seperate controllers and the name part will very but all must go to the same controller and the name should be an param for all the actions in there.     Hi, i'm creating a mvc application and i'll use under subdomain like _http://myapp.mycompany.com, this subdomain is pointing to app subdirectory, but my actions are generated with applicationPath (subdirectory) always: _http://myapp.mycompany.com/myapp/Home/About. i want _http://myapp.mycompany.com/Home/About only, without applicationPath prefix. Exists any configuration for this?? I'm using the correct methods: <%= Html.ActionLink("About", "About", "Home") % Actions rendered without ApplicationPath prefix, is possible in asp.net routing? * Please, ignore undescore prefix in urls, but i'm novice in stackoverflow and i can't post valid urls =/

    I wonder how long will an ASP.NET (MVC) application run, when no new requests come in? Lets say I'm using an IOC Container ans have a Singleton Object serving to the clients. As far as I know it will serve different page requests. But how long will it live when no new request come in? Is there any timeout (maybe configured through IIS) that says when my app will shut down?

But we want to ask users to authenticate again if they close the tab and try to access any of the website urls.

For example, I keep all curly braces on the same lines as their declaring class, method, etc, but when generating a controller, it completely disregards my settings.
