  • Asynchronous sockets in C#

    - by IVlad
    I'm confused about the correct way of using asynchronous socket methods in C#. I will refer to these two articles to explain things and ask my questions: MSDN article on asynchronous client sockets and devarticles.com article on socket programming. My question is about the BeginReceive() method. The MSDN article uses these two functions to handle receiving data: private static void Receive(Socket client) { try { // Create the state object. StateObject state = new StateObject(); state.workSocket = client; // Begin receiving the data from the remote device. client.BeginReceive( state.buffer, 0, StateObject.BufferSize, 0, new AsyncCallback(ReceiveCallback), state); } catch (Exception e) { Console.WriteLine(e.ToString()); } } private static void ReceiveCallback( IAsyncResult ar ) { try { // Retrieve the state object and the client socket // from the asynchronous state object. StateObject state = (StateObject) ar.AsyncState; Socket client = state.workSocket; // Read data from the remote device. int bytesRead = client.EndReceive(ar); if (bytesRead > 0) { // There might be more data, so store the data received so far. state.sb.Append(Encoding.ASCII.GetString(state.buffer,0,bytesRead)); // Get the rest of the data. client.BeginReceive(state.buffer,0,StateObject.BufferSize,0, new AsyncCallback(ReceiveCallback), state); } else { // All the data has arrived; put it in response. if (state.sb.Length > 1) { response = state.sb.ToString(); } // Signal that all bytes have been received. receiveDone.Set(); } } catch (Exception e) { Console.WriteLine(e.ToString()); } } While the devarticles.com tutorial passes null for the last parameter of the BeginReceive method, and goes on to explain that the last parameter is useful when we're dealing with multiple sockets. Now my questions are: What is the point of passing a state to the BeginReceive method if we're only working with a single socket? Is it to avoid using a class field? It seems like there's little point in doing it, but maybe I'm missing something. How can the state parameter help when dealing with multiple sockets? If I'm calling client.BeginReceive(...), won't all the data be read from the client socket? The devarticles.com tutorial makes it sound like in this call: m_asynResult = m_socClient.BeginReceive (theSocPkt.dataBuffer,0,theSocPkt.dataBuffer.Length, SocketFlags.None,pfnCallBack,theSocPkt); Data will be read from the theSocPkt.thisSocket socket, instead of from the m_socClient socket. In their example the two are one and the same, but what happens if that is not the case? I just don't really see where that last argument is useful or at least how it helps with multiple sockets. If I have multiple sockets, I still need to call BeginReceive on each of them, right?

  • IE6 "frame" layout with 100% height and scrollbars

    - by Joe
    I want to achieve a simple "frame" layout with fixed header, fixed left navigation area, and a main content area that fills 100% of the remainder of the viewport with scrollbars if necessary. My best attempt is below - but when I add enough content to the main div to force scrolling, I see that the scrollbar extends below the bottom of the viewport. What am I doing wrong? Or what is IE6 doing wrong and how can I fix it? NB please don't recommend using a more recent browser - I'd love to but can't. <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" > <head> <title></title> <style type="text/css"> html, body { height:100%; margin:0; padding:0; overflow:hidden; } div { border:0; margin:0; padding:0; } div#top { background-color:#dddddd; height:100px; } div#left { background-color:#dddddd; float:left; width:120px; height:100%; overflow:hidden; } div#main { height:100%; overflow:auto; } </style> </head> <body> <div id="top">Title</div> <div id="left">LeftNav</div> <div id="main"> Content <p> Lorem ipsum ... </p> ... repeated several times ... </div> </body> </html>

  • Large file upload into WSS v3

    - by Rubens Farias
    I'd built an WSSv3 application which upload files in small chunks; when every data piece arrives, I temporarly keep it into a SQL 2005 image data type field for performance reasons**. Problem come when upload ends; I need to move data from my SQL Server to Sharepoint Document Library through WSSv3 object model. Right now, I can think two approaches: SPFileCollection.Add(string, (byte[])reader[0]); // OutOfMemoryException and SPFile file = folder.Files.Add("filename", new byte[]{ }); using(Stream stream = file.OpenBinaryStream()) { // ... init vars and stuff ... while ((bytes = reader.GetBytes(0, offset, buffer, 0, BUFFER_SIZE)) 0) { stream.Write(buffer, 0, (int)bytes); // Timeout issues } file.SaveBinary(stream); } Are there any other way to complete successfully this task? ** Performance reasons: if you tries to write every chunk directly at Sharepoint, you'll note a performance degradation as file grows up (100Mb).

  • Galleria jQuery plugin briefly shows all images in IE 7 & 8

    - by hollyb
    I'm using the galleria jQuery plugin on a site. When the gallery first loads, all of the images appear briefly & vertically in ie 7 & 8. This doesn't happen when i isolate the gallery, only when i put it on a somewhat heavy page. This leads me to believe that it happens when the page is a little slow to load. Does anybody know a way to fix this? I feel like an overflow: hidden should fix this, but I've applied it along with a height in every container I could think of. Anybody have any ideas? Here is my css: .galleria{list-style:none;width:350px; overflow:hidden; height: 70px;} .galleria li{display:block;width:50px;height:50px;overflow:hidden;float:left;margin:4px 10px 20px 0;} .galleria li a{display:none;} .galleria li div{position:absolute;display:none;top:0;left:180px;} .galleria li div img{cursor:pointer;} .galleria li.active div img,.galleria li.active div{display:block;} .galleria li img.thumb{cursor:pointer;top:auto;left:auto;display:block;width:auto;height:auto} .galleria li .caption{display: inline;padding-top:.5em; width: 300px; } * html .galleria li div span{width:350px;} /* MSIE bug */ html: <ul class="gallery"> <li class="active"><img src="1.jpg" cap="A great veiw by so and so. • mciSendString cannot save to directory path

    - by robUK
    Hello, VS C# 2008 SP1 I have a created a small application that records and plays audio. However, my application needs to save the wave file to the application data directory on the users computer. The mciSendString takes a C style string as a parameter and has to be in 8.3 format. However, my problem is I can't get it to save. And what is strange is sometime it does and sometimes it doesn't. Howver, most of the time is failes. However, if I save directly to the C drive it works first time everything. I have used 3 different methods that I have coded below. The error number that I get when it fails is 286."The file was not saved. Make sure your system has sufficient disk space or has an intact network connection" Many thanks for any suggestins, [DllImport("winmm.dll",CharSet=CharSet.Auto)] private static extern uint mciSendString([MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPTStr)] string command, StringBuilder returnValue, int returnLength, IntPtr winHandle); [DllImport("winmm.dll", CharSet = CharSet.Auto)] private static extern int mciGetErrorString(uint errorCode, StringBuilder errorText, int errorTextSize); [DllImport("Kernel32.dll", CharSet=CharSet.Auto)] private static extern int GetShortPathName([MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPTStr)] string longPath, [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPTStr)] StringBuilder shortPath, int length); // Stop recording private void StopRecording() { // Save recorded voice string shortPath = this.shortPathName(); string formatShortPath = string.Format("save recsound \"{0}\"", shortPath); uint result = 0; StringBuilder errorTest = new StringBuilder(256); // C:\DOCUME~1\Steve\APPLIC~1\Test.wav // Fails result = mciSendString(string.Format("{0}", formatShortPath), null, 0, IntPtr.Zero); mciGetErrorString(result, errorTest, errorTest.Length); // command line convention - fails result = mciSendString("save recsound \"C:\\DOCUME~1\\Steve\\APPLIC~1\\Test.wav\"", null, 0, IntPtr.Zero); mciGetErrorString(result, errorTest, errorTest.Length); // 8.3 short format - fails result = mciSendString(@"save recsound C:\DOCUME~1\Steve\APPLIC~1\Test.wav", null, 0, IntPtr.Zero); mciGetErrorString(result, errorTest, errorTest.Length); // Save to C drive works everytime. result = mciSendString(@"save recsound C:\Test.wav", null, 0, IntPtr.Zero); mciGetErrorString(result, errorTest, errorTest.Length); mciSendString("close recsound ", null, 0, IntPtr.Zero); } // Get the short path name so that the mciSendString can save the recorded wave file private string shortPathName() { string shortPath = string.Empty; long length = 0; StringBuilder buffer = new StringBuilder(256); // Get the length of the path length = GetShortPathName(this.saveRecordingPath, buffer, 256); shortPath = buffer.ToString(); return shortPath; }

  • Get HDD (and NOT Volume) Serial Number on Vista Ultimate 64 bit

    - by TheAgent
    Hi all. I was once looking for getting the HDD serial number without using WMI, and I found it. The code I found and posted on StackOverFlow.com works very well on 32 bit Windows, both XP and Vista. The trouble only begins when I try to get the serail number on 64 bit OSs (Vista Ultimate 64, specifically). The code returns String.Empty, or a Space all the time. Anyone got an idea how to fix this? EDIT: I used the tools Dave Cluderay suggested, with interesting results: Here is the output from DiskId32, on Windows XP SP2 32-bit: To get all details use "diskid32 /d" Trying to read the drive IDs using physical access with admin rights Drive 0 - Primary Controller - - Master drive Drive Model Number________________: [MAXTOR STM3160215AS] Drive Serial Number_______________: [ 6RA26XK3] Drive Controller Revision Number__: [3.AAD] Controller Buffer Size on Drive___: 2097152 bytes Drive Type________________________: Fixed Drive Size________________________: 160041885696 bytes Trying to read the drive IDs using the SCSI back door Drive 4 - Tertiary Controller - - Master drive Drive Model Number________________: [MAXTOR STM3160215AS] Drive Serial Number_______________: [ 6RA26XK3] Drive Controller Revision Number__: [3.AAD] Controller Buffer Size on Drive___: 2097152 bytes Drive Type________________________: Fixed Drive Size________________________: 160041885696 bytes Trying to read the drive IDs using physical access with zero rights **** STORAGE_DEVICE_DESCRIPTOR for drive 0 **** Vendor Id = [] Product Id = [MAXTOR STM3160215AS] Product Revision = [3.AAD] Serial Number = [] **** DISK_GEOMETRY_EX for drive 0 **** Disk is fixed DiskSize = 160041885696 Trying to read the drive IDs using Smart Drive 0 - Primary Controller - - Master drive Drive Model Number________________: [MAXTOR STM3160215AS] Drive Serial Number_______________: [ 6RA26XK3] Drive Controller Revision Number__: [3.AAD] Controller Buffer Size on Drive___: 2097152 bytes Drive Type________________________: Fixed Drive Size________________________: 160041885696 bytes Hard Drive Serial Number__________: 6RA26XK3 Hard Drive Model Number___________: MAXTOR STM3160215AS And DiskId32 run on Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit: To get all details use "diskid32 /d" Trying to read the drive IDs using physical access with admin rights Trying to read the drive IDs using the SCSI back door Trying to read the drive IDs using physical access with zero rights **** STORAGE_DEVICE_DESCRIPTOR for drive 0 **** Vendor Id = [MAXTOR S] Product Id = [TM3160215AS] Product Revision = [3.AA] Serial Number = [] **** DISK_GEOMETRY_EX for drive 0 **** Disk is fixed DiskSize = 160041885696 Trying to read the drive IDs using Smart Hard Drive Serial Number__________: Hard Drive Model Number___________: Notice how much lesser the information is on Vista, and how the Serial Number is not returned. • How to access the Desktop Composition Engine from a WinForms app?

    - by MusiGenesis
    Is it possible to access Desktop Composition Engine in Windows Vista from a winforms application? The DCE apparently involves applications rendering to DCE buffers instead of directly to the screen. Since a winforms app has no way of getting information about the monitor's refresh rate and scanline status (other than via DirectX), animation in a winforms app is subject to tearing effects. With DCE enabled, the tearing effects are lessened but still there (apparently the DCE can still grab a buffer that your app is halfway through writing to and render it to the screen, thereby producing the half-one-frame-half-of-the-next tearing effects). Is there any way for my winforms app to communicate with the DCE and possible avoid rendering during buffer switchover times?

  • retreving long text (CLOB) using CFQuery

    - by CFUser
    I am using CFQuery to retrieve the CLOB field from Oracle DB. If the CLOB filed contains the Data less than ~ 8000, then I can see retrieved the value ( the o/p), however If the value in CLOB field size is more than 8000 chars, then its not retrieving the value. in <cfdump> i can see the query retrieved as 'empty String' though the value exists in Oracle DB. I am using the Oracle Driver in CFadim console enabled 'Enable long text retrieval (CLOB).' and 'Enable binary large object retrieval (BLOB). ' set 'Long Text Buffer (chr)' and 'Blob Buffer(bytes) ' values to 6400000 any suggestions to retrieve the full text?

  • How do we group in BIRT without wasting lines, and still only printing the group item on the first l

    - by paxdiablo
    When grouping in BIRT, we frequently want the grouping value to show up on the first line as follows: Group User Reputation ------ --------------- ---------- Admins Bill The Weasel 51,018 Mark Grovel 118,101 Users pax_my_bags 73,554 Jon Scoot **,***,*** <- overflow clueless 92,928 The normal way of acheiving this is to lay out the group in the designer as follws: +---------+--------+--------------+ Tbl Hdr | Group | User | Reputation | +---------+--------+--------------+ Grp Hdr | [Group] | | | +---------+--------+--------------+ Grp Dtl | | [User] | [Reputation] | +---------+--------+--------------+ Grp Ftr | | | | +---------+--------+--------------+ Tbl Ftr | | | | +---------+--------+--------------+ which, unfortunately, lays out the data in exactly that way, with the grouped value on a different line: Group User Reputation ------ --------------- ---------- Admins Bill The Weasel 51,018 Mark Grovel 118,101 Users pax_my_bags 73,554 Jon Scoot **,***,*** <- overflow clueless 92,928 This is particularly painful with data where there's lots of groups with only one user since we use twice as much space as needed. If we move the [Group] data item down to the Grp Dtl line, we get it printed for every line in the group. How, in BIRT, do we merge the two lines Grp Hdr and the first Grp Dtl?

  • Parse values from a text file in C

    - by Mohit Deshpande
    Say I have written to a text file in this format: key1/value1 key2/value2 akey/withavalue anotherkey/withanothervalue I have a linked list like: struct Node { char *key; char *value; struct Node *next; }; to hold the values. How would I read key1 and value1? I was thinking of putting line by line in a buffer and using strtok(buffer, '/'). Would that work? What other ways could work, maybe a bit faster or less prone to error? Please include a code sample if you can!

  • C Programming: malloc and free within a loop

    - by kouei
    Hi all, I just started out with C and have very little knowledge about performance issues with malloc() and free(). My question is as such: if I were to call malloc() followed by free() in a while-loop that loops for, say, 20 times, would it run slower compared to if I were to call free() outside the loop? I am actually using the first method to allocate memory to a buffer, read a string of variable length in a file, perform some string operation, and then clear the buffer after every iteration. If my method results in a lot of overhead then I'd like to ask for a better way for me to achieve the same results. Sorry for my bad English. Thanks and regards, K

  • openmp in mex : stackoverflow error

    - by Edwin
    i have got the following fraction of code that getting me the stack overflow error #pragma omp parallel shared(Mo1, Mo2, sum_normalized_p_gn, Data, Mean_Out,Covar_Out,Prior_Out, det) private(i) num_threads( number_threads ) { //every thread has a new copy double* normalized_p_gn = (double*)malloc(NMIX*sizeof(double)); #pragma omp critical { int id = omp_get_thread_num(); int threads = omp_get_num_threads(); mexEvalString("drawnow"); } #pragma omp for //some parallel process..... } the variables declared in the shared are created by malloc. and they consumes with large amount of memory there are 2 questions regarding to the above code. 1) why this would generate the stack overflow error( i.e. segmentation fault) before it goes into the parallel for loop? it works fine when it runs in the sequential mode.... 2) am i right to dynamic allocate memory for each thread like "normalized_p_gn" above? • zlib memory usage / performance. With 500kb of data.

    - by unixman83
    Is zLib Worth it? Are there other better suited compressors? I am using an embedded system. Frequently, I have only 3MB of RAM or less available to my application. So I am considering using zlib to compress my buffers. I am concerned about overhead however. The buffer's average size will be 30kb. This probably won't get compressed by zlib. Anyone know of a good compressor for extremely limited memory environments? However, I will experience occasional maximum buffer sizes of 700kb, with 500kb much more common. Is zlib worth it in this case? Or is the overhead too much to justify? My sole considerations for compression are RAM overhead of algorithm and performance at least as good as zlib.

  • Specifying --host1 as localhost with port 8983 in autobench

In all the examples that I have seen in the autobench tutorial, --host1 is a website (such as, www.test.com). Can anyone suggest how to use localhost taking the port as 8983? Thanks, in advance.

  • Jquery Accordion and Fading

    - by Slick Willis
    I am trying to create a jquery accordion that fades the header of the accordion out when the page is loaded then fades it in when the mouse hovers. The accordion also opens when the mouse hovers. I am able to get all of this working, the problem I am having is when the accordion opens the header moves away and the mouse is no longer on it to keep it lit. I would like the links to keep the header lit as well as if the mouse is on the header itself. • Strlen of MAX 16 chars string using bitwise operators

    - by fabrizioM
    The challenge is to find the fastest way to determine in C/C++ the length of a c-string using bitwise operations in C. char thestring[16]; The c-string has a max size of 16 chars and is inside a buffer If the string is equal to 16 chars doesn't have the null byte at the end. I am sure can be done but didn't got it right yet. I am working on this at the moment, but assuming the string is memcpied on a zero-filled buffer. len = buff[0] != 0x0 + buff[1] != 0x0 + buff[2] != 0x0 + buff[3] != 0x0 + buff[4] != 0x0 + buff[5] != 0x0 + buff[6] != 0x0 + buff[7] != 0x0 + buff[8] != 0x0 + buff[9] != 0x0 + buff[10] != 0x0 + buff[11] != 0x0 + buff[12] != 0x0 + buff[13] != 0x0 + buff[14] != 0x0 + buff[15] != 0x0;

  • Does it make sense to have more than one UDP Datagram socket on standby? Are "simultaneous" packets

    - by Gubatron
    I'm coding a networking application on Android. I'm thinking of having a single UDP port and Datagram socket that receives all the datagrams that are sent to it and then have different processing queues for these messages. I'm doubting if I should have a second or third UDP socket on standby. Some messages will be very short (100bytes or so), but others will have to transfer files. My concern is, will the Android kernel drop the small messages if it's too busy handling the bigger ones? Update "The latter function calls sock_queue_rcv_skb() (in sock.h), which queues the UDP packet on the socket's receive buffer. If no more space is left on the buffer, the packet is discarded. Filtering also is performed by this function, which calls sk_filter() just like TCP did. Finally, data_ready() is called, and UDP packet reception is completed."

Here's what I know how to set from .bat: Colors = (color XY) where x and y are hex digits for the predefined colors Prompt = (prompt $p$g) sets the prompt to "C:\etc\etc " the default prompt Title = (title "text") sets the window title to "text" Screen Size = (mode con: cols=XX lines=YY) sets the columns and lines size of the window Path = (SET PATH=%~d0\bin;%PATH%) sets up local path to my tools and appends the computer's path So that's all great. But there are a few settings I can't seem to set from the bat. Like, how would I set these up wihtout using the Properties dialogue: Buffer = not screen size, but the buffer Options like quick edit mode and autocomplete Popup colors Font. And can you use a font on the portable drive, or must it be installed to work? Command history options

  • How can I successfully perform hidden line removal after pass through FBO?

    - by Brett
    Hi All, I'm trying to perform hidden line removal using polygon offset fill. The code works perfectly if I render directly to the window buffer but fails to draw the lines when passed through a FBO as shown below The code I use to draw the objects void drawCubes (GLboolean removeHiddenLines) { glLineWidth(2.0); glPushMatrix(); camera.ApplyCameraTransform(); for(int i = 0; i < 50; i ++){ glPushMatrix(); cube[i].updatePerspective(); glPolygonMode(GL_FRONT_AND_BACK, GL_LINE); glColor3f(1.0,1.0,1.0); cube[i].draw(); glPolygonMode(GL_FRONT_AND_BACK, GL_FILL); if(removeHiddenLines){ glEnable(GL_POLYGON_OFFSET_FILL); glPolygonOffset(1.0, 1.0); glColor3f(1.0, 0.0, 0.0); //fill polygons for hidden line removal cube[i].draw(); glDisable(GL_POLYGON_OFFSET_FILL); } glPopMatrix(); } glPopMatrix(); } For this example, the first pass involves rendering to both the window buffer and a FBO. void firstPass() { glBindFramebufferEXT(GL_FRAMEBUFFER_EXT, 0); glClear(GL_COLOR_BUFFER_BIT | GL_DEPTH_BUFFER_BIT); glViewport(0, 0, fboWidth, fboHeight); glEnable(GL_DEPTH_TEST); glDisable(GL_TEXTURE_2D); drawParticleView(GL_TRUE); glDisable(GL_DEPTH_TEST); glBindFramebufferEXT(GL_FRAMEBUFFER_EXT, framebufferID[0]); glClear(GL_COLOR_BUFFER_BIT | GL_DEPTH_BUFFER_BIT); glViewport(0, 0, fboWidth, fboHeight); glEnable(GL_DEPTH_TEST); glDisable(GL_TEXTURE_2D); drawParticleView(GL_TRUE); glDisable(GL_DEPTH_TEST); } Second pass renders FBO back to window buffer. void secondPass() { glEnable(GL_TEXTURE_2D); glBindFramebufferEXT(GL_FRAMEBUFFER_EXT, 0); glBindTexture(GL_TEXTURE_2D, renderTextureID[0]); glViewport(fboWidth, 0, fboWidth, fboHeight); glMatrixMode(GL_PROJECTION); glLoadIdentity(); glMatrixMode(GL_MODELVIEW); glLoadIdentity(); glBegin(GL_QUADS); glTexCoord2i(0, 0); glVertex2f(-1.0f, -1.0f); glTexCoord2i(1, 0); glVertex2f(1.0f, -1.0f); glTexCoord2i(1, 1); glVertex2f(1.0f, 1.0f); glTexCoord2i(0, 1); glVertex2f(-1.0f, 1.0f); glEnd(); glDisable(GL_TEXTURE_2D); } I don't understand why the two views wouldn't be the same? Am I missing something (obviously I am)? Thanks

  • opengl invert framebuffer pixels

    - by ToxIk
    I was wondering was the best way to invert the color pixels in the frame buffer is. I know it's possible to do with glReadPixels() and glDrawPixels() but the performance hit of those calls is pretty big. Basically, what I'm trying to do is have an inverted color cross-hair which is always visible no matter what's behind it. For instance, I'd have an arbitrary alpha mask bitmap or texture, have it render without depth test after the scene is drawn, and all the frame buffer pixels under the masked (full alpha) pixels of the texture would be inverted. I've been trying to do this with a texture, but I'm getting some strange results, also all the blending options I still find confusing.

  • Java multithreaded server - each connection returns data. Processing on main thread?

    - by oliwr
    I am writing a client with an integrated server that should wait indefinitely for new connections - and handle each on a Thread. I want to process the received byte array in a system wide available message handler on the main thread. However, currently the processing is obviously done on the client thread. I've looked at Futures, submit() of ExecutorService, but as I create my Client-Connections within the Server, the data would be returned to the Server thread. How can I return it from there onto the main thread (in a synchronized packet store maybe?) to process it without blocking the server? My current implementation looks like this: public class Server extends Thread { private int port; private ExecutorService threadPool; public Server(int port) { this.port = port; // 50 simultaneous connections threadPool = Executors.newFixedThreadPool(50); } public void run() { try{ ServerSocket listener = new ServerSocket(this.port); System.out.println("Listening on Port " + this.port); Socket connection; while(true){ try { connection = listener.accept(); System.out.println("Accepted client " + connection.getInetAddress()); connection.setSoTimeout(4000); ClientHandler conn_c= new ClientHandler(connection); threadPool.execute(conn_c); } catch (IOException e) { System.out.println("IOException on connection: " + e); } } } catch (IOException e) { System.out.println("IOException on socket listen: " + e); e.printStackTrace(); threadPool.shutdown(); } } } class ClientHandler implements Runnable { private Socket connection; ClientHandler(Socket connection) { this.connection=connection; } @Override public void run() { try { // Read data from the InputStream, buffered int count; byte[] buffer = new byte[8192]; InputStream is = connection.getInputStream(); ByteArrayOutputStream out = new ByteArrayOutputStream(); // While there is data in the stream, read it while ((count = is.read(buffer)) > 0) { out.write(buffer, 0, count); } is.close(); out.close(); System.out.println("Disconnect client " + connection.getInetAddress()); connection.close(); // handle the received data MessageHandler.handle(out.toByteArray()); } catch (IOException e) { System.out.println("IOException on socket read: " + e); e.printStackTrace(); } return; } }

  • SetTimeout() and ClearTimeout() to stop freezing of IE8 and dialog aobut scripts overruning

    - by igl00
    I have some 3rd party software where i can open nsites and run javascript. Because some sites make me stack overflow i ussed the trick wih Registry to modify Styles WRAD to FFFFFF. Still some sites may do stack overflow due to DOM. I thought on start of running each site i would do javascript: setTimeout("window.status='one';",10000); then on then end i would like to clear it - my question is how to if this doesnt have any actual id? Will the usual clearTimeout() without anything inside do it fine?
