I couldn't find such attribute for radio element in context of XUL. So I guess it's some custom attribute? If it is, then how it is evolving through the lines, first declaration, then several assignments? It has also selected, which means can have multiple custom attributes? How can those attributes be used later?

• CSS dropdowns on touch-based clients. Are pure CSS dropdowns going to become extinct?

  My company is starting to move toward adding the iPad as a browser i have to test my work on. This got me thinking... Since touch-based clients don't have a :hover state are pure CSS dropdowns going to go away? Then i thought even if you add some javascript to make the menus popup on click... What happens when the menu item (that expands to another menu) is also a link. How do you tell the difference between a click to see the menu or a click to go to that link?

Rob Conery tweeted the following a couple of hours ago: Class name of the day: "Maybe<T>". Method of the day: "ToMaybe<T>()". He then went on to offer a Tekpub coupon to anyone who could guess where it came from. He linked to a further tweet which had a clue and from that I worked out that it was Entity Framework Code-Only but while trying to determine the usage someone else answered to which Rob replied ...EF CodeOnly - dealing with uncertainty.... So my question boils down to what exactly is he referring to with uncertainty and how does this fit in to Entity Framework Code-Only?

• Entity framework : [Set all the entities with internal access specifier]

  Hi, By virtue of my application, I need to seperate my business entities from the entities created by EF4. I need to restrict the entities to only access the repository from where they are translated (using translator) to business entities shared at business and service layer. I thought of restricting them by specifying them as internal. Now there are more than 40 entities in my application so manually setting them as internal is a difficult job. In one of the forums the answers suggested using the T4 templates. But even those templates read from the entity framework access specifier. When I try to manually try to specify all the properties and class access specifiers as internal it gives me an error saying that the entity set should also be set to internal, but there is no option for the same. I am using VS 2010 and Entity Framework 4. Any suggestions???

  I have a span that is generated through javascript, with its css class as follows: .class1{ width:25px; height:25px; background-image: url(pic.png); background-repeat:no-repeat; background-position: center; cursor:pointer; margin-left:10px; } The problem is on, the html page, i can see the pointer -cursor, but not the background image,over the span, in IE7. In IE6, both get shown , no problems.

  I am using SQL Server Compact 3.5 edition with Entity Framework and I want to have exclusive lock on the database as documented here http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms171817.aspx. However when you pass this in a connection string to Entity Framework it does not respect this at all.   Given a block container <div> this is a very long string which contains a bunch of characters that I want to break at container edges. </div> are there any css properties I can set to force it to break when it reaches the container width, regardless of the contents of the string, for example a break like: this is a ve ry long stri ng which ... is pretty much what I want. Right now, it seems to always prefer to break at whitespace characters or other special characters (such as /).

  Hello all, I am pretty new to the Zend framework and looking to build an application with pretty tight password security. I have been trying to follow the user guides in relation to password salting but haven't had any luck so far. I have setup my database and table adapter (As described in the documentation on the Zend Framework site but it didn't seem to finish the example (or I am not following well enough!) I have started with: $authAdapter = new Zend_Auth_Adapter_DbTable($dbAdapter, 'users', 'username', 'password', "MD5(CONCAT('".Zend_Registry::get('staticSalt')."', ?, password_salt))" ); But from here, what is done with the password salt? • Should I use Drupal or Kohana-type framework for a web "application"

  The debate is that I need a PHP Framework/Drupal with the flexibility to add custom features to a potentially large application (web and with an api). However, with a framework, like Kohana, I see myself tackling and re-inventing the wheel with the simple stuff like account management and cms stuff. Account management and quick data collection, like fast form creation, are tedious in Kohana but appear incredible simple in Drupal. On the other hand, based on my limited Drupal experience, I doubt building rapid custom "features" and allowing users to create "groups" and to manage their own roles within those groups is something Drupal can easily accomplish. To simplify, is Drupal capable of true Web Applications; where the application is a service and provides custom results to each user? Can it provide a dashboard-like interface for users to change their settings or preferences? Can it aggregate data from particular users to provide better results/info to others? If so, please point me to some knowledge :-)

• 8bpp Bitmap format on the Compact Framework

  Hi friends. I am messing around with Conway's Game of Life - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conway's_Game_of_Life I started out coding algorithmns for winforms and now want to port my work onto windows mobile 6.1 (compact framework). I came across an article by Jon Skeet where he compared several different algorithmns for calculating next generations in the game. He used an array of bytes to store a cells state (alive or dead) and then he would copy this array to an 8bpp bitmap. For each new generation, he works out the state of each byte, then copies the array to a bitmap, then draws that bitmap to a picturebox. void CreateInitialImage() { bitmap = new Bitmap(Width, Height, PixelFormat.Format8bppIndexed); ColorPalette palette = bitmap.Palette; palette.Entries[0] = Color.Black; palette.Entries[1] = Color.White; bitmap.Palette = palette; } public Image Render() { Rectangle rect = new Rectangle(0, 0, Width, Height); BitmapData bmpData = bitmap.LockBits(rect, ImageLockMode.ReadWrite, bitmap.PixelFormat); Marshal.Copy(Data, 0, bmpData.Scan0, Data.Length); bitmap.UnlockBits(bmpData); return bitmap; } His code above is beautifully simple and very fast to render. Jon is using Windows Forms but now I want to port my own version of this onto Windows Mobile 6.1 (Compact Framework) but . . . .there is no way to format a bitmap to 8bpp in the cf. Can anyone suggest a way of rendering an array of bytes to a drawable image in the CF. This array is created in code on the fly (it is NOT loaded from an image file on disk). I basically need to store an array of cells represented by bytes, they are either alive or dead and I then need to draw that array as an image. The game is particularly slow on the CF so I need to implement clever optimised algoritmns but also need to render as fast as possible and the above solution would be pretty dam perfect if only it was available on the compact framework.   Is there a way in CSS to make the background of an element semi-transparent, but still have the text of the element non-transparent? (Without separating the text and background in two elements positioned over eachother.) I've tried <p style="position:absolute;background-color:green;filter:alpha(opacity=60);opacity:.6;"><span style="color:white;filter:alpha(opacity=100);opacity:1;">Hello world</span></p> But it looks like child elements are subjected to the opacity of their parent(s), so 'opacity:1' is still drawn as 'opacity:.6' from the parent.

  Hello, I want to create a footer like facebook, that sticks at the bottom of the page, irrespective of the scroll. <div id="footer"></div> and here is the css style #footer{ position:absolute; left:0px; margin-bottom:0px; vertical-align:bottom; bottom:0px; width:100%; height:25px; background-color:#dfd5d7; overflow:hidden; } It comes fine, when I resize the browser window it does not stick to the bottom but a about 50 pixels up. • CSS Gridlines For Alternating Columns

  I have created a table with 20 rows and 10 columns. I would like to create a gridline separating every two columns. So, between column 2 and 3 there would be a line separating them. There should also be lines separating columns 4 and 5, coulumns 6 and 7, and columns 8 and 9. But I do not want to have a line separating columns 1 and 2, or columns 3 and 4, etc. Is there any way to do this with CSS? I have tried creating a left border on each individual cell of the column, but it does not give me a solid line going down the column. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  In entity framework I have an Entity 'Client' that was generated from a database. There is a property called 'Account' it is defined in the storage model as: <Property Name="Account" Type="char" Nullable="false" MaxLength="6" /> And in the Conceptual Model as: <Property Name="Account" Type="String" Nullable="false" /> When select statements are generated using a variable for Account i.e. where m.Account == myAccount... Entity Framework generates a paramaterized query with a paramater of type NVarchar(6). The problem is that the column in the table is data type of char(6). When this is executed there is a large performance hit because of the data type difference. Account is an index on the table and instead of using the index I believe an Index scan is done. Anyone know how to force EF to not use Unicode for the paramater and use Varchar(6) instead?

  Hello everybody In my App I'm trying to get PSMTabBarControl working, but all I do - nothing... I have copied the framework File in my Frameworks folder of my App, then included it. In my InterfaceBuilder (1.3.2) I was able to drag and drop the PSMTabBarControl to my Window and link it with the NSTabView (PSM - tabView - NSTabView && NSTabView - delegate - PSM), but after i tried a Demo (apple+r) I cant see the Tabs... Tried all I can - but dont know why.. Am I doing sth. wrong? Which other Framework or Source I can use to create Tabs like Firefox oder Safari? Thank you!

• Best way to remove CSS rounded-corner halo?

  I'm getting a tiny rounded corner halo effect that I'd like to get rid of. In this example, look for the effect in the red circle. I seem to recall a while back reading an article on just this problem. Anyone have a link to that article? Otherwise, any good ways to get rid of the halo? It is being caused because the dl has all four corners rounded. This allows the bottom of the dl to be rounded. The dt sits over the dl and has its top left and top right corners rounded. But there is a slight overflow of the dl curve behind the dt curve, causing the halo. My solution is to increase the border-radius of the dl so that it is hidden behind the dt corner. But it seems like a hack and adds a fair amount more CSS. I'm wondering if there is a better solution.
