• Javascript - how to change elements content inside a page when using iframes, using dom, not jquery

  Hello all, I have this iframe and as u can see it call a js function with the onload trigger. <iframe name="top" id="top" width="99%" height="20%" src="top.htm" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" onload="log_in()"></iframe> What i need to do is to effect the element inside "top.htm" (change innerHTML and stuff like that) from that function. But the problem is that the funnction does not recognize the elements of the "top.htm" page, only the ones in index.htm (the page with the iframes). p.s. i have to use DOM and i have to use iframes. Any one knows how to do that? 10x :-)

• CSS: float:left with a margin-right doesn't push all elements away

  I'd like all my content to flow around an image. To do this, I simply did img#me { width: 300px; float: left; margin-right: 30px; } This works for text wraping, but other elements go behind it. For example <style> h2 { background: black; color: white; } </style> <img id="me" src="http://paultarjan.com/paul.jpg" /> <h2>Things!</h2> Then the h2 background flows right past the 30px margin. • java xml pretty printing - preserve empty elements and white pace

  Basically, I am looking for a java library that will take this: <foo><bar> </bar><baz>yadda</baz></foo> And pretty print it to this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <foo> <bar> </bar> <baz>yadda</baz> </foo> e.g. preserving whitespace AND blank elements The closest I have got was with dom4j like so: OutputFormat format = OutputFormat.createPrettyPrint(); format.setTrimText( false ); However, this does not honor the whitespace unless the element contains other character data. I'm not opposed to writing something on my own, but I would think this has already been done, why reinvent the wheel?

• In python: how to apply itertools.product to elements of a list of lists

  I have a list of arrays and I would like to get the cartesian product of the elements in the arrays. I will use an example to make this more concrete... itertools.product seems to do the trick but I am stuck in a little detail. arrays = [(-1,+1), (-2,+2), (-3,+3)]; If I do cp = list(itertools.product(arrays)); I get cp = cp0 = [((-1, 1),), ((-2, 2),), ((-3, 3),)] But what I want to get is cp1 = [(-1,-2,-3), (-1,-2,+3), (-1,+2,-3), (-1,+2,+3), ..., (+1,+2,-3), (+1,+2,+3)]. I have tried a few different things: cp = list(itertools.product(itertools.islice(arrays, len(arrays)))); cp = list(itertools.product(iter(arrays, len(arrays)))); They all gave me cp0 instead of cp1. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

• How to add dimensions to dynamic img elements

  I use a Json call to get a list of image addresses, then I add them individually to a div like this. <div id="container"> <img src="A.jpg" alt="" /> <img src="B.jpg" alt="" /> ... </div> Unfortunately the image dimension is not part of the Json information but I do need them for later JQuery DOM interactivity. Do any of you JQuery geniuses know of a code that would flawlessly add the width and height to the individual image elements in the container after they load? I was thinking maybe the code could wait for the images to have a width bigger than 5px then add the new width and height to the element. But I wouldn't know how to go about that and make it work stably. Thank you so much!

I´ve read something about bind but is there a different Way to etablish something like this? • Executing <script> elements inserted with .innerHTML

  I've got a script that inserts some content into an element using innerHTML. The content could for example be: <script type="text/javascript">alert('test');</script> <strong>test</strong> Problem is that the code inside the <script> tag doesn't get executed. I googled it a bit but there were no apparent solutions. If I inserted the content using jQuery $(element).append(content);the script parts got eval'd before being injected into the DOM. Has anyone got a snippet of code that executes all the <script> elements? The jQuery code was a bit complex so I couldn't really figure out how it was done.

  I'm using the Blueprint CSS grid for my HTML page. I have a table which I want to show/hide - linking it to a button, using jQuery. The problem is that everytime I click on the button to show/hide the table, everything on the page shifts slightly left-right. Is this a common problem? Does anyone know what could be causing this and what I could do to fix the other elements of the page such that they do not move? Edit: grammar.

  The next, prev, nextAll and prevAll methods are very useful, but not if the elements you are trying to find are not in the same parent element. What I want to do is something like this: <div><span id="click">hello</span></div> <div><p class="find">world></p></div> When the span with the id "click" is pressed, I want to match the next element with the class "find", which in this case is not a sibling of the clicked element so next or nextAll won't work.

  I'm building an hybrid Android App using Phonegap/Apache Cordova. My app should get data from my web api. I'm using JSON to serve the data to the APP.   I want to add a set of lists to the children of another DOM element: var req_subsets = $("#req_subsets"); $.each(subsets, function(index, subset) { var subset_list = $("<ul></ul>"); // add DOM elements to subset_list req_subsets.append(subset_list); }); However, only one DOM element is ever added. This makes me suspect that when I assign a new value to subset_list, the old one is overwritten. If that is the problem, how do I avoid it? If not, what else am I doing wrong? UPDATE: I changed something else, and I'm almost entirely certain that this is fixed.

I am currently using: $rcount = mysql_num_rows($result); for ($j = 0; $j <= $rcount; $j++) { $row = mysql_fetch_row($result); $patients = array($row[0] => $row[2]); } I would like this to return an array like this: $patients = (bob=>1, sam=>2, john=>3, etc...) Unfortunately, in its current form, this code is either copying nothing to the array or only copying the last element.

  I have to find recursively if there is any repeated element in an integer array v. The method must have the following signature: boolean hasRepeatedElements(int[] v) I can't see any way of doing that recursively without having to define another method or at least another overload to this method (one that takes for example the element to go after or something). At first I thought about checking for the current v if there is some element equal to the first element, then creating a new array with L-1 elements etc but that seems rather inefficient. Is it the only way? Am I missing here something?

• Nokogiri: add <tbody> after <table> elements as FireFox does

  i have a problem: Firefox adds <tbody> whether it's there or not, after <table>. I have no problem with this. Nokogiri doesn't add it. I need Nokogiri to emulate Firefox's behavior. How can i add tbody after <table> elements to a given HTML page ? If tbody is already there, then move on to the next <table>....until all <tbody> tags are placed by Nokogiri. Thank you.

  I am trying to show and hide an inline element (eg a span) using jquery. If I just use toggle(), it works as expected but if I use toggle("slow") to give it an animation, it turns the span into a block element and therefore inserts breaks. Is animation possible with inline elements? I would prefer a smooth sliding if possible, rather than a fade in. • Mobile web on nokia devices not displaying centain elements

  So i have a site which is rendered with our in-house portal engine. It resizes images and adjusts style-sheets automatically in real-time. Issue is that some html elements are inexplicably disappearing due to what only can be described as HTML compatibility. But the problem is not consistent. And only seems to be an issue on some nokia devices. I have tried to install the Nokia Mobile Browser Emulator... but its the worst piece of software i have seen in my life... after 4 hours of installing and uninstalling different versions of JRE, i still can't get it to install. • Change background colour of individual elements on the fly

  Hi, Is there a way in CSS or JQuery where I can dynamically change the background of li tags so they get slightly lighter for each element until it gets to white. For example say I had a list of 10 li elements. The first would have a red (#ff0000) background, the next one would then be a lighter shade of red, and so on and so on until we got to the last one which would have a background of white (#FFFFFF) The list can be any length and i just want the background colour to go from one colour e.g. red to another colour e.g. white. My site uses JQuery so if I have to use that I don't mind. Thanks
