Html dynamically repeated border-image

I have a table which border I want to have a sort of zig-zag shape. I want the table to have an automatic size; resizing depending on how big the browser is. But rrathe than just having an image that gets stretched I want a seamless image that gets repeat instead. I found out this can be done with CSS3's Border-image but by looking and Browser Statistics I can see than only about half of all the viewers will be able to see it since no version of IE does yet support it. So I'm looking for an alternate method. What would be the best way of doing it? Thanks in advance!

Align table columns HTML

I finally was able to align the columns in the tables of a page of my website. Though I found the solution I don't understand it. This is a fiddle I prepared. If you delete display: block from the CSS the columns are centered perfectly. The fact is that I don't understand what that instruction is causing problems, doesn't it means that elements are displayed as block elements? Shouldn't it cause the elements (the raw in particular) to fill an entire line? Thanks for your explanation

I am using <form id="frmId" method="post" enctype="Multipart/form-data"> <input type="file" id="file1"/> <input type="submit" id="btnsubmit"/> </form> and in code behind I am trying to get this file. Its not letting me to get the file until I use server side input file control. I don't want to use runat="server" attribute with my file control. Do anyone know how to do this.

RegEx to replace html entities

Hi, all. I'm looking for a way to replace the bullet character in Greasemonkey. I assume a Regular Expression will do the trick, but I'm not as well-versed in it as many of you. For example, "SampleSite.com • Page Title" becoming "SampleSite.com Page Title". The issue is that the character has already been parsed by the time Greasemonkey has gotten to it, and I don't know how to make it recognize the symbol. I've tried these so far, but they haven't worked: newTitle = document.title.replace(/•/g, ""); newTitle = document.title.replace("•", ""); //just for grins, but didn't work anyway

Using javascript on an HTML table?

Hi, few questions, just wondering if anyone can help? I have a table with 1 long row (1000 pixels) and one single column, how do i go about creating a method whereby when the mouse cursor is on the leftmost side of the cell, a variable, lets say X is set to 0, the further right the mouse cursor moves in the cell, the value of X increases. I know that sounds like a strange question but im working on a project where this type of functionality is desired. Is there a javascript method to create this feature? Thanks for any help.

Internet Explorer has an option to save a web page as a text file, with all the tags removed. I need a way to batch process that stuff for a project at work. Or there any command line utilities or libraries that can do the same thing for me? COM-interop with IE(not my first choice!)? It doesn't have to format exactly like IE, just give me plain text.

PHP HTML table is too wide

I have a table that I cannot get to size correctly. The table populates with information from a database via a loop. Sometimes if the data is too long the table extends past where it should. When the data is that long I want the data to wrap in the cells so the table stays where it should. I have tried the normal table data but it isn't working. I have a element that contains options. The element is 150px wide but some of the options are wider. So when rendering, the browser shows the overflow to the right. How can I make the options list overflow to the left? I am building a framework that will validate forms both client-side (javascript) and server-side based on a form requirements specification written in json. The purpose is to get rid of logically equivalent code on the server and client to make the code more maintainable, faster to write, and less buggy. Best practice to structure large html-based project

I develop Rails based website, enjoying using partials for some common "components" Recently, i faced a problem, that states with CSS interference. Styles for one component (described in css) override styles for another components. For example, one component has ... <ul class="items"> ... and another component has it too. But that ul's has different meaning in these two components. On the other hand, i want to "inherit" some styles for one component from another. For example: Let, we have one component, called "post" <div class="post">  <ul class="items"> ... </ul> </div And another component, called "new-post": <div class="new-post">  <ul class="items"> ... </ul>  <div class="tools">...</div> </div Post and new-post have something similar ("post's stuff") and i want to make CSS rules to handle both "post" and "new-post" New post has "subcomponents", for example - editing tools, that has also: <ul class="items"> This is where CSS rules starting to interfer - some rules, targeted for ul.items (in post and new-post) applies subcomponent of new-post, called "tools" On the one hand - i want to inherit some styles On the other hand, i want to get better incapsulation What are the best practices, to avoid such kind of problems ?

Embed external images for use in HTML canvas?

I'm using JavaScript to load an image into my Canvas element in Firefox. This works fine for local images, but throws a security exception for external images. Is there any way to avoid this security exception, one that does not involve my server having to act as proxy to load the image locally (because that would stress my server)? How to handle redirects while parsing HTML? - Python

Hi folks, I'm trying to submit a few forms through a Python script, I'm using the mechanized library. This is so I can implement a temporary API. The problem is that before after submission a blank page is returned informing that the request is being processed, after a few seconds the page is redirected to the final page. I understand if it might sound a bit generic, but I'm not sure what is going on. :) Any ideas?

Html Select tabindex not working correctly in Chrome Browser

The problem is that the tabindex method works perfectly on firefox and internet explorer but not on chrome... I think the problem came from the < g:select name="nationalityAreaId" from="${myValue}" tabindex="6" optionKey="id" value="${user?.profile?.nationalityAreaId}" noSelection="['null': '']"/ But not being a Browser specialist is hurting me on this problem. Has anyone already faced this ? And more importantly, found a solution ? Thanks

New to php and need to format a php page from html statement

My problem is the page shows a vertical line of options. I want to put them into a 4 column table to display instead of just down lhs of page. HTML text field not displaying decimal places of SQL money value

I have a text field who's value is populated from a SQL recordset (below). <input name="txtAmount" id="txtAmount" type="text" size="10" maxlength="10" value="<%=RS("Amount")%>"> In the SQL table, the Amount field (which is a money data type) is inserted correctly, as 5.00 However, in the web page, it displays only as 5 (i.e. the decimal places are missing). Anyone know why this might be and how I can get the decimal places to display in the field? Thanks!
