  • Mapping to a different view based on child type

    - by Ryan Burnham
So i have a situation where i have common base type but i need to map to a different view based on the child type. It looks like i can use a generic mapping class to handle the inheritance http://geekswithblogs.net/nharrison/archive/2010/07/09/inheriting-a-class-map-in-fluent-nhibernate.aspx But how can i conditionally map to a different view based on the child type? I see an EntityType property but it says its obsolete and will be made private in the next version. As an example i have a base class of ContactInfo is standard between contact types but the values come from different places depending on the contact type, this I'll handle through the sql view.

  • Unable to pass attribute from controller to view

    - by MDS
I'm using Spring MVC 3 for a web app. In the app a URI template is supposed to be handled by a controller method, which then passes an attribute to a view. Currently, the controller does handle the request, and it even forwards to the correct view. However, it does NOT pass the attribute to the view. Below are the URI template, controller method and relevent jsp tags. Anyone see what is wrong? URI: /home/{status} Controller: @RequestMapping("/home") @Controller public class HomeController { ... ... @RequestMapping(value="/{status}") public String homeStatusView(@PathVariable("status") String status, ModelMap model) { model.addAttribute("status", status); return "home"; } } JSP: ... <c:if test="${not empty status}"> <span class="status">Your status is available...</span> </c:if> ...

  • Can't remove a view included using a include tag

    - by Julio Rodrigues
Removing a view that was included using a <include> tag seems to have no effect. ViewGroup currentPersonContainer = (ViewGroup) root.findViewById(R.id.propria_pessoa_container); if (dto.occupation!= null) { . . . } else { root.removeView(currentPersonContainer); } After the root.removeView(currentPersonContainer); I can still find it in root and the view is still visible. How can I remove a view included in a xml layout resource file?

  • MySql Union not getting executed in a view

    - by aLL0i
Hi, I am trying to create a view for a UNION of 2 select statements that I have created. The UNION is working fine when executed individually But the problem is only the 1st part of the UNION is getting executed when I am executing it as a view. The query I am using is as below SELECT DISTINCT products.pid AS id, products.pname AS name, products.p_desc AS description, products.p_loc AS location, products.p_uid AS userid, products.isaproduct AS whatisit FROM products UNION SELECT DISTINCT services.s_id AS id, services.s_name AS name, services.s_desc AS description, services.s_uid AS userid, services.s_location AS location, services.isaservice AS whatisit FROM services WHERE services.s_name The above works fine when i execute it separately. But when I use it as a view, it does not give me the results of the services part. Could someone please help me with this?

  • How do you set Android ViewPager to encompass only one View or Layout?

    - by Kyle
I am struggling with the concepts needed to properly implement a view pager. By following some tutorials and referencing developer.android.com, I am able to get a view pager almost fully functional. The pager will flip through several text views that have been setup to say "My Message 0" through "My Message 9". The problem is that the view pager also flips the button on the bottom of the activity and the red block that is right above the button. I would like to have the view pager only cycle through the text. Would you please help me understand what I'm doing wrong? I have an activity that represents a dashboard: public class DashBoard extends FragmentActivity { private static final int NUMBER_OF_PAGES = 10; private ViewPager mViewPager; private MyFragmentPagerAdapter mMyFragmentPagerAdapter; public void onCreate(Bundle icicle){ super.onCreate(icicle); setContentView(R.layout.dashboard); mViewPager = (ViewPager) findViewById(R.id.viewpager); mMyFragmentPagerAdapter = new MyFragmentPagerAdapter(getSupportFragmentManager()); mViewPager.setAdapter(mMyFragmentPagerAdapter); } private static class MyFragmentPagerAdapter extends FragmentPagerAdapter{ public MyFragmentPagerAdapter(FragmentManager fm) { super(fm); } @Override public Fragment getItem(int index) { return PageFragment.newInstance("My Message " + index); } @Override public int getCount(){ return NUMBER_OF_PAGES; } } and a class for the page fragment: public class PageFragment extends Fragment { public static PageFragment newInstance(String title){ PageFragment pageFragment = new PageFragment(); Bundle bundle = new Bundle(); bundle.putString("title", title); pageFragment.setArguments(bundle); return pageFragment; } @Override public void onCreate(Bundle icicle){ super.onCreate(icicle); } @Override public View onCreateView(LayoutInflater inflater, ViewGroup container, Bundle icicle){ View view = inflater.inflate(R.layout.dashboard, container, false); TextView textView = (TextView) view.findViewById(R.id.textViewPage); textView.setText(getArguments().getString("title")); return view; } } and finally, my xml for the dashboard: <RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools" android:id="@+id/dashbaordLabel" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" > <android.support.v4.view.ViewPager android:id="@+id/viewpager" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_alignParentTop="true" android:layout_alignParentLeft="true" /> <TextView android:id="@+id/textViewPage" android:layout_width = "match_parent" android:layout_height= "wrap_content" /> <Button android:id="@+id/newGoalButton" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="@string/stringNewGoal" android:layout_alignParentBottom="true" android:layout_alignParentLeft="true" android:onClick="createNewGoal" /> <RelativeLayout android:id="@+id/SpaceBottom" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="75dp" android:layout_above="@id/newGoalButton" android:background="@color/red" > </RelativeLayout> </RelativeLayout> A note about my xml, I tried wrapping the text view in some view pager tags eg: <android.support.v4.view.ViewPager android:id="@+id/viewpager" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_alignParentTop="true" android:layout_alignParentLeft="true" > <TextView android:id="@+id/textViewPage" android:layout_width = "match_parent" android:layout_height= "wrap_content" /> </android.support.v4.view.ViewPager> But all that did was make the text view disappear from the screen, while the button and red block still cycled as in the original issue.

  • How to integrate KVC in MVC?

    - by Paperflyer
So I have an MVC-application in Cocoa. There are some custom views, a controller and a model. Of course, the views need to know some stuff, so they get their data from the controller. However, they do not use accessors in the controller, they use KVC with a keypath that calls right through to the model: // In view.m time = [timeSource valueForKeyPath:@"theModel.currentTime"]; // timeSource is a pseudo-delegate of the view that holds the controller This simplifies things a great deal and technically, the views still don't know the model in person (that is, in pointer). But of course, they access it directly. Is that a usual (or at least sensible) usage of KVC and MVC? Or how would you implement this kind of communication?

  • Cannot use Html.ActionLink in asp.net mvc spark files

    - by midas06
I'm using the spark view engine with my asp.net mvc application. In my aspx pages, I can succesfully use Html.Actionlink, but when I attempt it in spark files, it doesnt show up in intellisense, and when i try to run it anyway, i get: Dynamic view compilation failed. c:\Users\midas\Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\ChurchMVC\ChurchMVC\Views\Home\Index.spark(73,25): error CS1061: 'System.Web.Mvc.HtmlHelper' does not contain a definition for 'ActionLink' and no extension method 'ActionLink' accepting a first argument of type 'System.Web.Mvc.HtmlHelper' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) I do have system.web.mvc referenced, and I have added in _global.spark. None of that helps. Any ideas?

  • Android drawing cache

    - by Seva Alekseyev
Please explain how does the drawing cache work in Android. I'm implementing a custom View subclass. I want my drawing to be cached by the system. In the View constructor, I call setDrawingCacheEnabled(true); Then in the draw(Canvas c), I do: Bitmap cac = getDrawingCache(); if(cac != null) { c.drawBitmap(cac, 0, 0, new Paint()); return; } Yet the getDrawingCache() returns null to me. My draw() is not called neither from setDrawingCacheEnabled(), nor from getDrawingCache(). Please, what am I doing wrong?

  • Continuous integration with ClearCase and long-updating snapshot views

    - by Yulia Rogovaya
Hi, I need to set up a continuous integration system. We use ClearCase version control and only snapshot views due to platform restrictions. I have tried setting up Hudson and Luntbuild. They both show the same behaviour. In a view, we have lots of libraries that are used for build but are strictly read-only. The CI system executes cleartool lshistory and finds a change in the VCS. After that, it executes cleartool setcs, which causes update of the view. This can take about half an hour, which is very undesirable for CI. Why wouldn't it update only the changed elements, which were previously obtained by cleartool lshistory? Is there a CI system that can do this?

  • database design question

    - by Leonardo
Hi all, I am building a database as a simple exercise, it could be hosted on any database server, so I am trying to keep things as much standard as possible. Basically what I would like to do is a 'code' table that get referenced by other entities. I explain: xcode id code r role p property code r admin r staff p title .... then I would like to have some view like: role (select * from code where xcode='r') r admin r staff property (select * from code where xcode='p') p title then, suppose we have an entity myentity id - 1 role - admin (foreign key to role) title - title (foreign key to property) Obviously I cannot create foreign key to a view, but this is to tell the idea I have in mind. How can I reflect such behaviour using whenever possible, standard sql syntax, then as a second option, database additional features like trigger ecc... ? Because if I tell that role and title in myentity are foreign key to 'code', instead of the views, nothing would stop me to insert a role in title field. thanks Leonardo

  • NHibernate - I have many, but I only want one!

    - by MartinF
Hello, I have a User which can have many Emails. This is mapped through a List collection (exposed by IEnumerable Emails on the User). For each User one of the Emails will be the Primary one ("Boolean IsPrimary" property on Email). How can I get the primary Email from User without NHibernate loads every email for the User ? I have the following two entities, with a corresponding table for each public class User { public virtual int Id { get; set; } public virtual IEnumerable<Email> Emails { get; set; } // public virtual Email PrimaryEmail { get; set; } - Possible somehow ? } public class Email { public virtual int Id { get; set; } public virtual String Address { get; set; } public virtual Boolean IsPrimary { get; set; } public virtual User User { get; set; } } Can I map a "Email PrimaryEmail" property etc. on the User to the Email which have "IsPrimary=1" set somehow ? Maybe using a Sql Formula ? a View ? a One-To-One relationship ? or another way ? It should be possible to change the primary email to be one of the other emails, so i would like to keep them all in 1 table and just change the IsPrimary property. Using a Sql Formula, is it be possible to keep the "PrimaryEmail" property on the User up-to-date, if I set the IsPrimary property on the current primary email to false, and then afterwards set the PrimaryEmail property to the email which should be the new primary email and set IsPrimary to true ? Will NHibernate track changes on the "old/current" primary Email loaded by the Sql Formula ? What about the 1 level cache and the 2 level cache when using SqlFormula ? I dont know if it could work by using a View ? Then i guess the Email could be mapped like a Component ? Will it work when updating the Email data when loaded from the View ? Is there a better way ? As I have a bi-directional relationship between User and Email I could in many cases of course query the primary Email and then use the "User" property on the Email to get the User (instead of the other way around - going from User to the primary Email) Hope someone can help ?

  • ASP.NET MVC reminds me of old Classic ASP spaghetti code...

    - by EdenMachine
I just went through some MVC tutorials after checking this site out for a while. Is it just me, or does MVC View pages brinig back HORRIBLE flashbacks of Classic ASP spaghetti code with all the jumping in and out of HTML and ASP.NET with yellow delimiters everywhere making it impossible to read? What ever happened to the importance of code/design separation?? I was really sold on the new technology until the tutorials hit the View page development section. Or am I missing something? (And don't say you can use the template to help because it's jsut moving the spaghetti to another location - sweeps it under the rug - it doesn't fix the problem)

  • OWA 2010 calendar is it possible to get the 2003 week view back or customize it?

    - by Scott Szretter
In OWA (Exchange Outlook) 2003 calendar, there was a week view, which was a simple list type view, showing the day, time, and details. In OWA 2010, this is gone and the week view shows a more graphical view with boxes spanning the time slots. It is very difficult to read when you have many appointments. Is there a way to get a list style view, or some way to customize the views in OWA 2010 so I can build one?

  • MVP - asp.net - passing information via views - confused

    - by ekynox
Hi, I've just started to play around with MVP in asp.net. One thing I quite cant figure out is how do I pass information, i.e. an integer variable from one view(webform) to another. Let's I have a customerlistView which is mapped to a customerlist.aspx page. From it I select a customer and it's record id. Say I want to display the customer's details in another view (i.e customerDetailView, customerdetail.aspx). How do I achieve that ? Does that mean customerlistView would call the presenter of the customerdetail and cause a page redirect ? Any ideas ? thanks

  • How to correctly size containing views

    - by Gerry
I have an Activity that will display a custom view made up of 2 parts. I want one part to be 1/3 of visible screen height, the other part to be 2/3. I can override onMeasure and use display metrics to find the height of the display, but this does not account for the battery bar or view title sizes. DisplayMetrics dm = new DisplayMetrics(); ((WindowManager)contxt.getSystemService(Context.WINDOW_SERVICE)).getDefaultDisplay().getMetrics(dm); int height = dm.heightPixels; How can I tell the height of the displayable area? I'm prepared to override the layout or whatever. What is the Android best practices? I've seen other questions along this line, but they are inconclusive.

  • Javascript code in ASP.NET MVC Partial Views (ASCX) or not?

    - by Alex
Is there a "best practice" for placing Javascript code when you have many partial views and JS code that's specific to them? I feel like I'm creating a maintenance nightmare by having many partial views and then a bunch of independent Javascript files for them which need to be synced up when there is a partial view change. It appears, for maintenance purposes, better to me to put the JS code with the partial view. But then I'm violating generally accepted practices that all JS code should be at the bottom of the page and not mixed in, and also I'd end up with multiple references to the same JS file (as I'd include a reference in each ASCX for intellisense purposes). Does anyone have a better idea? Thank you!

  • Adding a Categorylist to all pages with MVC4

    - by Sidriel
I'm new with MVC4 and just MVC. I have a homecontroller and a categorycontroller. The categorycontroller sends data from the model to the categoryIndex view. That's works fine. But now I want to add the categorylist on all the available controllers. I already fixed this to add in all classes return view(db.categorys.ToList()); and add categoryIndex to the shared folder. In _layout.cshtml I'm adding a@RenderPage("~/")` and this works. But when I have to pass more than only the (db.categorys.ToList()) in the return it goes wrong. How can I fixed this problem. How do I add the categorylist too every controller and page properly?

I have tried initializing a variable in the index method of the books controller but get exactly the same results. Thanks in advance! BTW had to make the links text because of stackoverflow limit.

  • Rendering Views as String with Spring MVC and Apache Tiles

    - by lynxforest
I am trying to reuse some of my tiles in a controller which is returning a json response to the client. I would like to return a json response similar to the following format: { 'success': <true or false>, 'response': <the contents of an apache tile> } In my controller I would like to perform logic similar to this pseudocode: boolean valid = validator.validate(modelObj) String response = "" if(valid){ response = successView.render() // im looking for a way to actually accomplish // this, where the successView is the apache tiles view. // I would also need to pass a model map to the view somehow. }else{ response = errorView.render() } writeJsonResponse(httpResponse, /* a Map whose json representation looks like the one I described above. */)

  • how to force onLayout

    - by rekisum
Hi i want to design a custom View where I need to recalculate my layout and redraw when user changes something. To force a onLayout(), the only solution that works for me until now is: onLayout(true, 0, 0, 0, 0); invalidate(); Of course that gives me a lint error and I have to add a @SuppressLint("WrongCall"). So there must be a smarter solution. Calls of forceLayout or requestLayout didn't work. Probably they only put a request on a stack but don't react immediately. As my view has no child elements and I do the drawing inside all by myself, could be I'm bypassing some Android design guides and abusing some principles. Can live with the lint error but maybe someone already found a solution. Thanks!
