    Okay so have a database that uses the time functions for a list of events and then displays the data as: echo "<b>Time Frame:"; echo "$time_start"; echo "&nbsp;-&nbsp;"; echo "$time_end"; Although that displays the time as 11:00:00 if i want the time to be 11:00 am. Is there anyway to make this time display as a standard "11:00"? and also if in the mysql datababse enter it as military time (ex. 13:00) to make it display 1:00pm? I have tried many things.     OK as the title says I've got a div which is prepended and dynamically loaded. The problem I have is that I can't split the css on this one as it parses also whole strings. The usage is like that: I've got a @username somewhere in the string. If the user hovers it a div with informations will get prepended to the current username. Now there is the problem that I've allowed users to post images in this text also. As the autolinker is flexible it doesn't know the image sizes and restrictions and I want to leave it like that! So I define css classes which look like that: .minpost img{ max-height: 30px; max-width: 30px; } Of course I don't need to mention that this attribute is also inherited by the prepended div. And that I don't want to! nifty little tricks like !important won't work for me. So I am asking you guys. If you need further informations just ask?!

    We repeatedly see that when an apache2 update arrives and is installed it causes the libapache2-mod-php5 package to be removed and does not subsequently re-install it automatically. We must subsequently re-install the libapache2-mod-php5 manually in order to restore functionality to our web server.     I like to test kmymoney. When trying to install there are a lot of kde packages that are needed by this program. That's ok, I'm using Unity and there are no kde packages installed at this moment. So, when I like to remove all this packages after testing kmymoney, how can I do that? sudo apt-get install kmymoney >> /some/folder/kmymoney.txt gives me the output of apt-get, but that's not what I'm looking for.     Recently I encountered dependencies resolve issues when using APTITUDE (it is my favorite). Nevertheless, I started to feel that APTITUDE does not behave as it is supposed to be in 64 bits systems while apt-get works fine. Can someone confirm that APTITUDE is buggy in Ubuntu 11.10 amd64?     I started using Ubuntu 12.10 today, and put in my social networking details in Online Accounts under System Settings. I like being able to chat with my Facebook friends in Empathy, but I don't necessarily want my tweets to go to Facebook. I want to remove Facebook from Gwibber, but not Empathy. How do I do this? There is nothing in Gwibber preferences and I can't see how to do it in Online Accounts. The reason I want to remove it is that it isn't clear enough which accounts are posted to and I don't necessarily want the feeds mixing together.

    i have some problem. First i upgraded ubuntu to 12.04 and all of packages. But after that i have a lot of problems so i decided to downgrade to 11.10. After i did that i have two kernels 3.2.x and 3.0.x. I found a lot of solutions how to remove older kernels but i have no idea how to remove newer kernel ? I dont see 3.2 kernel when im using a 3.0 kernel. But i see it in grub. When i type uname -r in terminal i see only 3.0.x kernel which im using at the moment.. Any solutions to delete 3.2 kernel ?

(it is not notify-isd) Is it possible to set what notifications to see? If not, how to remove this completely? Update edit: Removing notification-demon (that being it seems the culprit, as an answer suggests) involves removing some important applications: Lubuntu-desktop is a metapackage I guess. But what about removing deluge and update-notifier? Can I add these back without getting back the notifier?? I do not want in any case to remove these two.

    My notebook has a widescreen display so vertical space is an absolute premium for me. When I installed Ubuntu 11.10 I was disappointed to see that a new icon confusingly named "Dash Home" had been added to the very top of the Unity launcher. I can't move it to the bottom (by dragging it) and it doesn't have a context menu with which to remove it (by unchecking "Keep In Launcher"). It's horrible. How can I remove it from the Unity launcher and reclaim the space that was taken from me? (I realize that if it's removed I'll have to open the dashboard with the super key - I'm fine with that)

    I have been trying for some time to remove the Skype icon in the upper panel in Ubuntu 11.10, but to no avail. I have went into dconf, went to desktop - unity - panel, and I looked to delete 'Skype' from the whitelist. But Skype isn't in the whitelist! And it's showing up on the panel! Something smells fishy here, and I was wondering if anyone had an answer as to a) how I can actually remove the Skype icon from the gnome panel and b) why an icon still show up there if it isn't in the whitelist? Also, if it's relevant, I use Unity. EDIT: So, the only solution for this issue is the scorched earth strategy of removing sni-qt?

    I have an FTP account shared with friends where we upload underground music albums and then we use the links to share the downloads in a music forum. The problem is that the album names are in french so there is a lot of special characters in the name. So the URL looks like http://www.mydomain.com/downloads/Some Band - En français avec des caractères spéciaux (2013) [7'' EP].zip For me it works perfectly and I can download the file by using this URL, but I have read everywhere that special chars are bad in URL. Is there any reason why I must remove the special characters or encode the URL? Is everyone able to access a URL with special characters or will some older browsers not be able to download the files? I really don't care about SEO or anything else. I just want the download links to work for everyone. Since the files are uploaded through FTP, I can't use PHP to remove the special characters with a regex, so I really don't know what to do.

    As you would expect from a DSL aimed at data analysis, R handles missing/incomplete data very well, for instance: Many R functions have an 'na.rm' flag that you can set to 'T' to remove the NAs: mean( c(5,6,12,87,9,NA,43,67), na.rm=T) But if you want to deal with NAs before the function call, you need to do something like this: to remove each 'NA' from a vector: vx = vx[!is.na(a)] to remove each 'NA' from a vector and replace it w/ a '0': ifelse(is.na(vx), 0, vx) to remove entire each row that contains 'NA' from a data frame: dfx = dfx[complete.cases(dfx),] All of these functions permanently remove 'NA' or rows with an 'NA' in them. Sometimes this isn't quite what you want though--making an 'NA'-excised copy of the data frame might be necessary for the next step in the workflow but in subsequent steps you often want those rows back (e.g., to calculate a column-wise statistic for a column that has missing rows caused by a prior call to 'complete cases' yet that column has no 'NA' values in it). to be as clear as possible about what i'm looking for: python/numpy has a class, 'masked array', with a 'mask' method, which lets you conceal--but not remove--NAs during a function call.   • Package management system corrupted. Cannot install or remove packages. U12.04LTS

    Having read other posts, I believe that this may be less about samba than about update system. Below is the log file of the failed installation of Samba. I have been trying without success to install/outstall samba so that I could install anything else ... I cannot either install or remove samba using either update-manager or apt-get (nor indeed Software Centre). One of the errors that I have had to correct is the presence after "removal" (failed) of /usr/share/system-config-samba directory which finally allowed itself to be deleted. That, however was then ... I have U12.04LTS. running on release 63 because I allowed the upgrade to 64 this morning which fell over - no output to monitor - obviously even less support for my graphic chip than I am suffering already (see other posts in this forum). According to my interpretation of the dpkg returned errors there may be some problem with the package files, but if this is the case then it is on servers 'main', 'nantes uni fr' and 'best fr' at the very least if not everywhere. The suggestions offered at Package operation failed and elsewhere have not worked for me. This linked post suggests that a similar error is present in other packages, or that the error is in the 'update system' I have tried ... sudo apt-get remove samba ... autoremove ... install samba ... clean ... update -f all of the above In update-manager I have tried the "reload packages list" which fails to terminate because of the error. I have tried to install and remove samba from the software centre ... :( I am at a loss ... I need help, please! Firstly to recover my apt-get/update-manager/Software Centre so that I can at least carry on with my continuing installation - up to communicating with home network hence need for samba - which brings me to my second requirement ... samba. PS is the issue about "MaxReports" associated or apart? UPDATE! Being heartily sick of restarting FF every 5 seconds I thought I'd try again with Chromium ... and got the same errors from dpkg about corrupt compressed package - coincidence? Of course this was no longer in clipboard when I got here because apport has just errored ... AAARRRGGGH!!! Why does every error clear the clipboard?   • Java: Is there a way to efficiently insert or remove many elements from the middle of a LinkedList?

    I was expecting to find this in Java's LinkedList, since the point of linked lists is to be able to efficiently insert (and remove) anywhere (assuming you have some kind of pointer to the location where you want to insert or remove). I'm not finding anything in the API though. Am I overlooking something? The closest thing I can find to this are the add and remove method in ListIterator. This has some limitations though. In particular, other iterators become invalid as soon as the underlying LinkedList is modified via remove, according to the API.   • How do I remove a LOT of indexed pages from Google?

    A few weeks ago we have figured out that Google has indexed some information we would rather keep in some confidentiality, in the format of individual PDF files. Our assumption was that this was a problem with our robots.txt we had overlooked. Even though we are not sure whether or not this is the case, we are certain that the robots.txt file is in a valid format and is, according to Google's webmaster tools, blocking the files. However, even after this adjustment that has been made weeks ago, Google still has the PDF files indexed, but does tell us further information cannot be provided due to the robots.txt file being present. As you can hopefully understand, this is unwanted behaviour due to the nature of the documents. I am aware that there is a request page being provided by Google for this purpose, but there are a lot of files. Is there an easier way to get Google to remove all of the files from its search engine? If not, is there anything else you could advise us to do besides manually requesting Google to remove every single page? Thanks in advance.

  • How do I remove my Windows 7 setup from a Windows/Ubuntu dual-boot?

    Previously my OS was Window 7 and some day it began to show problems with booting and finally it didn't boot at all. I tried to repair it but it didn't get repaired. Then I installed Ubuntu 14.04 LTS alongside Windows and am impressed much by Ubuntu. So I want to remove all my Windows files. I searched Google to know how to do it and I found OS-Uninstaller. I have some doubts before proceeding with OS-Uninstaller - I need to keep my photos, songs, movies and personal files in my system even if Windows is removed. Normally Windows files are installed in the C Drive. My personal files are not in the C Drive. So will removing Windows files affect my personal files ? Did the OS-Uninstaller affect Ubuntu anyway ? Please note that I want to remove only the Windows installation files(the files added to my system by Windows during its installation). I don't want to change the NTFS partition to any other format since there is a probability that I will install newer version of Windows later.

I am basically getting word frequency so each key is a string and the value is its frequency in the document. The problem however, is that I need to print out these values to a file in descending order of frequency. After making my hashmap, this is the part of my program that sorts it and writes it to a file. //Hashmap I create Map<String, Integer> map = new ConcurrentHashMap<String, Integer>(); //function to sort hashmap while (map.isEmpty() == false){ for (Entry<String, Integer> entry: map.entrySet()){ if (entry.getValue() > valueMax){ max = entry.getKey(); System.out.println("max: " + max); valueMax = entry.getValue(); System.out.println("value: " + valueMax); } } map.remove(max); out.write(max + "\t" + valueMax + "\n"); System.out.println(max + "\t" + valueMax); } When I run this i get: t 9 t 9 t 9 t 9 t 9 .... so it appears the remove function is not working as it keeps getting the same value. I'm thinking i have an issue with a scope rule or I just don't understand hashmaps very well. If anyone knows of a better way to sort a hashmap and print it, I would welcome a suggestion. thanks

  • How do I remove a printer connection without the user's intervention?

    Here's the situation: We're replacing 11 printers with newer models, and we'll be installing them on our print server and sharing them out. The plan is to share the new printers under different names than the ones they're replacing, and un-share the old ones. So I need to come up with a way to remove the client connections to old printers automatically. Clients are mostly Windows 7 with a few XP. My first idea was to call prnmngr.vbs from the login script to remove each old printer explicitly by name. The problem is that some users don't log out when they're done for the day, so I can't count on their login script running before they next need to print. I could remotely run prnmngr.vbs using SCCM, but if it's not 'impersonating' the user, I don't think it will remove their printers. Any ideas? Could I lookup how to access WMI using c# code and write a "trojan" to remove specific printers without requiring the user to do anything? (I'm only half joking). I'm open to any suggestion! Thanks!

  • How do I remove the Conduit toolbar that comes with µTorrent?

    I have recently installed µTorrent in my computer and unfortunately the Conduit adware came bundled with it. Basically, it installs a toolbar on all browsers and replaces the default search and initial homepage to that of Conduit. I have tried to run AdAware and MalwareBytes but both were unable to remove it. Search results on Google tell me to remove the Conduit software in the Control Panel → Remove Programs, but it's not listed there. Other suggestions involved going into the extensions configuration in Chrome, but it's not listed there as well. Anybody had the same problem?

What am I doing wrong ?
