  • Eclipse RCP: How to troubleshoot plugin dependencies & classpath problems?

    I am working on an RCP project based on eclipse. It has been working fine but recently I thought I'd upgrade it to use a new eclipse version (3.2 - 3.5). After a bit of trouble, it seemed to be working fine. Then I did something. Don't know what. The end result is that I'm getting a classpath error when one of my plugins (A) tries to access a class in one of the dependent plugins (B) (also one of mine). As far as I can see, Plugin A has Plugin B in its' dependency list and the compiler shows no errors. To test, I created a new Plugin C with one class and accessed the class from Plugin A. That works fine. Does anyone have any hints for troubleshooting such issues? A checklist of settings to check? I've been stuggling with this for hours and getting nowhere! Particularly frustrating as it was working until I changed something! Thanks

  • how can I open eclipse and see the project view I last looked at?

    I'm completely mystified. I do not understand why Eclipse does not show me my list of projects! And all the answers I've seen to similar questions do not mention any 'go here and do that' type of answers. I tried 'Import/General/Existing Projects into Workspace/browse-to...' but that told me the project was already in the workspace. But I KNEW THAT! The project menu does not have an 'open project' option!!!! There is no 'open workspace' option. How do people open Eclipse and 'resume working'??? What is the single, dependable, repeatable option for opening the 'project tree' to show my project? [or tell me my expectations that Java people are smarter are way off base!] Thanks, Kimball

  • Best memory settings for eclipse 4.2 (STS 3.1) on Windows 7 64 bit?

    I apoligize in advance if this question is indeed too subjective as SO warns me. My workstation has 8 gb of ram and runs windows 7 64 bit. I use the Spring tool Suite (3.1) but as soon as i am starting to open and modify the spring config (.xml) files, STS becomes incredibly slow. I already tried switching off "build automatically" and to increase memory settings but no luck. How should i change my .ini ? this is what i have set now: -vm C:/Program Files/Java/jdk1.7.0_07/bin/javaw.exe -startup plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher_1.3.0.v20120522-1813.jar --launcher.library plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.win32.win32.x86_64_1.1.200.v20120522-1813 -product org.springsource.sts.ide --launcher.defaultAction openFile --launcher.XXMaxPermSize 4096M -vmargs -Dosgi.requiredJavaVersion=1.5 -Xms512m -Xmx2048m -XX:MaxPermSize=512m My collageu running the same project in IntelliJ, has no problems.   • Can you have 2 completely independent instances of Eclipse running at the same time?

    I'm sure there isn't really a way to do this, but figured it doesn't hurt to ask... I use Eclipse a lot. I'm currently using it for both Java and Python (with PyDev). I often find that I have one project open, with lots of files, say in Java... And then for some reason I have to switch to a Python project for a bit. I want to leave my Java project the way it is, and I don't just want to open tons of Python files in the same place because then I have too much open at once and get a headache and confused. Is there any way I can just leave the Java project exactly the way it is, and sort of open a completely new session of Eclipse? (sort of the way you can do with a browser) Or is this just wishful thinking?

    I have been developing in Snow Leopard (10.6). I believe I have some Java6-only API features and I'd like to find these. I moved my project to Leopard (10.5) -- since Snow Leopard does not support Java 1.5 -- but I am so far unable to make Eclipse give compile errors for a Java API call which I know to have been added in 1.6. Here is what I have done: Project properties - Java Compiler - set everything to 1.5. Preferences - Java - Installed JREs - selected JVM 1.5.0. Project properties - Java Build Path - Libraries - says JRE System Library [JVM 1.5.0] What am I missing? Is there another way to find Java API calls added in 1.6 when using Eclipse in Snow Leopard?     I would like to know whether any body has used Eclipse JavaScript support for developing gnome-exensions. Actually aiming here for the context support which is available in eclipse. And i though if i could add all the java scripts that a extension is inheriting (base scrips) in to a user library, then i could included it as a dependency in my extension project. Have any once done this already ? Does all the methods that are used in a exentions exist in the base scripts ? In what directories does the base scripts exist ? Here are the specific I need for the code: Many companies normally charge a shipping and handling charge for purchases. Create a Web page that allows a user to enter a purchase price into a text box and includes a JavaScript function that calculates shipping and handling. Add functionality to the script that adds a minimum shipping and handling charge of $1.50 for any purchase that is less than or equal to $25.00. For any orders over $25.00, add 10% to the total purchase price for shipping and handling, but do not include the $1.50 minimum shipping and handling charge. The formula for calculating a percentage is price * percent / 100. For example, the formula for calculating 10% of a $50.00 purchase price is 50 * 10 / 100, which results in a shipping and handling charge of $5.00.     How to get the total amount of memory used by 32bit applications and 64bit applications from the command line in Windows. I tried using tasklist /FI "MODULES eq wow64.dll" /FO CSV and then parsing the output and summing. But tasklist just freezes with any command that has something to do with modules (tasklist /m and tasklist /fi "modules eq wow64.dll" freeze). Are there any alternatives? Or some idea why tasklist freezes.

    We have an SQL Server 2005 that is the backend of a web application. The application is partly SharePoint and partly web services accessing the database via Entity Framework. In the performance monitor I am seeing average SQL Logins is ca, 60 per second (max 170), but the average logouts is less than 1. Where can I see the total number of SQL Server logins? Anyone have an idea what could be causing this?

  • Windows Media Player - always show Current Time/Total Time

    I'm using Windows Media Player 12 on Windows 7. When I open a video file then it by default only shows the current position (time). If I click on it once then it changes to format Current Time / Total Time Is there any way to make this format permanent (registry hack/some setting I have not noticed)? Right now every time I close WMP and open another file it's back to the default (only current time) setting.

    I'm doing some massive DB cleanups at the moment. We have two DBs both approaching 400GB and I'm wanting to split the DB's into departments. To do that I need to know the total size of mailboxes within an OU. I've run this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9796101/exchange-listing-mailboxes-in-an-ou-with-their-mailbox-size but this only gives me a list and I need a combined totalitemsize so know how big I need the new DB's to be.
