  • Does MySQL allow two primary keys on one table?

    CREATE TABLE Orders -> ( -> ID SMALLINT UNSIGNED NOT NULL, -> ModelID SMALLINT UNSIGNED NOT NULL, -> Descrip VARCHAR(40), -> PRIMARY KEY (ID, ModelID) -> ); Basically, this appears to me to be creating two primary key on one table. Is that correct? I thought that we could create a number of unique keys in one table, but only one primary key. How is it that my system is allowing the creation of multiple primary keys? Please advise: what are the rules governing this?

  • Textbox is disabled after adding text dynamically in codebehind

    Can't quite work out what is happening but The background is that I am dynamically adding table rows in a web page and some of the cells hold controls such as dropdowns etc. One of the columns pulls a size into it. However the column I am having issues with is the next column which takes the text from teh previous dropdown and shows the appropriate price. On doing htis however the textbox which is being created appears to turn into a label as I cannot select or adjust the text that has been put in there. var gotPrice =(from a in getPrice.Sizes where a.Size1 == Size.SelectedValue select a).First(); TextBox Price = new TextBox(); Price.Width = 100; PriceField.Controls.Add(Price); PriceField.Text = gotPrice.RackRate.ToString(); I have tried then calling .Enabled but still the text box is not editable. any help appreciated.

  • Require reasonably random results from an SQL SELECT query within a Joomla article (Cache enabled)

    Setup: Joomla website on LAMP stack I have a MySQL table containing some records, these are queried by a simple SELECT on the Joomla article, as pasted below. This specific Joomla website has Caching turned on in Joomla's Global Configuration. I need to randomize the order in which I display the resultset, each time the page is loaded. Regular php/mysql would offer me two approaches for this: 1. use 'order by RAND()' or any of a number of methods to allow a SELECT query to return reasonably random results. 2. once php gets the result from the SELECT into an array, shuffle the array to get a reasonably random order of array items. However, as this Joomla instance has Caching turned ON in its Global Configuration, either of the above approaches fails. The first time I load the page the order is randomized, however any further reloads do not cause the order to change, as the page is delivered from cache. The instant the Cache is disabled, both approaches (shuffle/order by rand) work perfectly. What am I missing? How do I override the Global Cache for this specific article? A very simple requirement, that is met by both php and mysql reasonably well, is blocked by the Joomla Cache that I cannot turn off.     I haveasp:GridView displaying client requests using asp:SqlDataSource. I want to limit displayed information by client: View.aspx has to display everything, View.aspx?client=1 has to display only requests from client ID #1. So I'm using <asp:QueryStringParameter Name="client" QueryStringField="client" /> for query "EXEC getRequests @client". Everything works properly when some client is specified. But don't - if not. I tested my SP using SSMS - it works properly in both cases - when parameter is specified and when it isn't (NULL passed explicitly). What have I do?

    hello, i have games in my sqLite DB with the attribute starting_date( t.date :starting_date). i would like to know all the games that have alreday started so i am using this lines of code: Game.find :all,:conditions=>"starting_date <= #{Date.today}" Game.find_by_sql("SELECT * FROM "games" WHERE (created_at < 2010-05-13)") the result is nill,even though i know that i have games that have already started like this one : #<Game id: 1, team_1_id: 2, team_2_id: 1, status: 2, team_1_points: nil, team_2_points: nil, starting_date: "2010-05-05", winner: 1, sport: "football", country: nil, league: "calcio", created_at: "2010-04-07 00:09:21", updated_at: "2010-05-13 00:57:19"> what am i doing wrong here?

    I am considering building several C#/.NET4 applications all using a central, cloud based database. In addition, several LAMP (MySQL) web shops will be accessing the cloud DB. MySQL is the database that I'm most familiar with, and my default selection for the cloud DB would be MySQL on Amazon or Joyent. However, I was wondering what development "extras" are available for SQLServer in VisualStudio 2010 that are not available for MySQL. Are there any "killer features" that should make me consider SQLServer instead of MySQL?

  • Does this query fetch unnecessary information? Should I change the query?

    I have this classifieds website, and I have about 7 tables in MySql where all data is stored. I have one main table, called "classifieds". In the classifieds table, there is a column called classified_id. This is not the PK, or a key whatsoever. It is just a number which is used for me to JOIN table records together. Ex: classifieds table: fordon table: id => 33 id => 12 classified_id => 10 classified_id => 10 ad_id => 'bmw_m3_92923' This above is linked together by the classified_id column. Now to the Q, I use this method to fetch all records WHERE the column ad_id matches any of the values inside an array, called in this case $ad_arr: SELECT mt.*, fordon.*, boende.*, elektronik.*, business.*, hem_inredning.*, hobby.* FROM classified mt LEFT JOIN fordon ON fordon.classified_id = mt.classified_id LEFT JOIN boende ON boende.classified_id = mt.classified_id LEFT JOIN elektronik ON elektronik.classified_id = mt.classified_id LEFT JOIN business ON business.classified_id = mt.classified_id LEFT JOIN hem_inredning ON hem_inredning.classified_id = mt.classified_id LEFT JOIN hobby ON hobby.classified_id = mt.classified_id WHERE mt.ad_id IN ('$ad_arr')"; Is this good or would this actually fetch unnecessary information?     Hi, I have a db with two tables like these below, page table pg_id title 1 a 2 b 3 c 4 d tagged table tagged_id pg_id 1 1 2 4 I want to select the pages which are tagged, I tried with this query below but doesn't work, SELECT * FROM root_pages LEFT JOIN root_tagged ON ( root_tagged.pg_id = root_pages.pg_id ) WHERE root_pages.pg_id != root_tagged.pg_id It returns zero - Showing rows 0 - 1 (2 total, Query took 0.0021 sec) But I want it to return pg_id title 2 b 3 c My query must have been wrong?? How can I return the pages which are not tagged correctly? Thanks.

The following code of course works fine, but selects all the columns, some of which I'm simply not interested in: var errors = (from error in db.ELMAH_Error select error).ToList(); return View(errors); I'm brand spanking new to MVC2 + L2E, so maybe I'm just not thinking in the right mindset yet, but this seems counter-intuitive. Is there an easy way to select a limited number of columns, or is this just part of using an ORM?

I only want to update the row in the import table with the id of the banner from the banner table if the count is equal to 1.

    I am attempting to return a rowcount from a subquery as part of a result set. Here is a sample that I've tried that didn't work: SELECT recordID , GroupIdentifier , count() AS total , (SELECT COUNT() FROM table WHERE intActingAsBoolean = 1) AS Approved FROM table WHERE date_format(Datevalue, '%Y%m%d') BETWEEN 'startDate' AND 'endDate' GROUP BY groupIdentifier What I'm attempting to return for 'Approved' is the number of records for the grouped value where intActingAsBoolean = 1. I have also tried modifying the where clause by giving the main query a table alias and applying an AND clause to match the groupidentifier in the subquery to the main query. None of these are returning the correct results. The query as written returns all records in the table where intActingAsBoolean = 1. This query is being run against a MySQL database.

    Hello there I've a table with about 130 000 records with telephonenumbers. The numbers are all formated like this +4311234567. The numbers always include international country code, local area code and then the phonenumber and sometimes an extension. There is a webservice which checks for the caller's number in the table. That service works already. But now the client wants that also if someone calls from a company which number is already in the database but not his extension, that the service will return some result. Example for table. **id** | **telephonenumber** | **name** | 1 | +431234567 | company A | 2 | +431234567890 | employee in company A | 3 | +4398765432 | company b now if somebody from company A calls with a different extension for example +43123456777, than it should return id1. But the problem is, that I don't know how many digits the extensions have. It could have 3,4 or more digits. Are there any patterns for string kind of matchings? The data is stored in a sql2005 database. Thanks

Things I have done: -mysql_real_escape_string all inputs -validate all inputs after escaping em -Placed random alpha numerics before my table names -50character salt + Ripemd passwords Heres where I think I am slacking: -I know know nothing about sessions and securing them. How unsafe/safe is it if all you are doing is: session_start(); $_SESSION['login']= $login; and checking it with: session_start(); if(isset($_SESSION['login'])){ -I heard something about other forms of injection like cross site injection and what not... -And probably many other things I dont know about. Is there a "checklist"/Quicktut on making php secure? I dont even know what I should be worried about.I kinda regret now not building off cakephp since I am not a pro.
