  • Magento loadByAttribute for Custom Category Attributes

    I have created custom attributes for a category in my module's install script like so: $attrib = array( 'type' => 'varchar', 'group' => 'My Data', 'backend' => '', 'frontend' => '', 'label' => 'My Custom Field', 'input' => 'text', 'class' => '', 'source' => '', 'global' => Mage_Catalog_Model_Resource_Eav_Attribute::SCOPE_STORE, 'visible' => true, 'required' => false, 'user_defined' => false, 'default' => '', 'searchable' => false, 'filterable' => false, 'comparable' => false, 'visible_on_front' => false, 'unique' => true, ); $installer->addAttribute(3, 'custom_field', $attrib); The field shows up fine in the admin, and when I create the category in my script like so: $p_category = Mage::getModel('catalog/category') ->setStoreId(0) ->load(2); $category = Mage::getModel('catalog/category'); $category->setStoreId(0) ->setName('Test Category') ->setCustomField('abcd') ->setDisplayMode('PRODUCTS') ->setAttributeSetId($category->getDefaultAttributeSetId()) ->setIsActive(1) ->setIsAnchor(1) ->setPath(implode('/',$p_category->getPathIds())) ->setInitialSetupFlag(true) ->save(); I can see the value 'abcd' in the Magneto admin interface. But when I call the code below: <?php $category = Mage::getModel('catalog/category')->loadByAttribute('custom_field', 'abcd'); print_r($category); ?> I get no result. But if I loadByAttribute using the 'name' field set to 'Test Category', I DO get a result. So, in the database, I looked into the catalog_category_entity_varchar table and noticed that the 'name' attribute had an entry for both store_id = 0 AND store_id = 1 whereas the 'custom_field' attribute had only an entry for store_id = 1. When I added a store_id = 0 entry for 'custom_field' with the value set to 'abcd' in the catalog_category_entity_varchar table, loadByAttribute got the expected result. My question is, why is the 'name' field getting a store_id = 0 entry in catalog_category_entity_varchar and my custom field is not? How do I load categories by custom attributes?

  • NOOB Memory Problem - EXC_BAD_ACCESS (OBJ-C/iPhone)

    I have been banging my head against the wall for a couple days and need some help. I have a feeling that I am doing something really silly here, but I cannot find the issue. This is the controller for a table view. I put the SQL in line to simplify it as part of the troubleshooting of this error. Normally, it would be in an accessor method in a model class. It gets through the SQL read just fine. Finds the two objects, loads them into the todaysWorkout array and then builds the cells for the table view. The table view actually comes up on the scree and then it throws the EXC_BAD_ACCESS.     I'm using MS SQL 2008. Is it possible to create a script to loop over all tables in a database generating a set of index drop scripts and create scripts separately? What I have to do is drop all indexes on a set of databases to run a heavy data load process but then I want to re-enable all the indexes. I don't want to have to go through each table and script an index drop and then index create. Thanks!

    I have a CSV dump from another DB that looks like this (id, name, notes): 1001,John Smith,15 Main Street 1002,Jane Smith,"2010 Rockliffe Dr. Pleasantville, IL USA" 1003,Bill Karr,2820 West Ave. The last field may contain carriage returns and commas, in which case it is surrounded by double quotes. I use this code to import CSV into my table: BULK INSERT CSVTest FROM 'c:\csvfile.csv' WITH ( FIELDTERMINATOR = ',', ROWTERMINATOR = '\n' ) SQL Server 2005 bulk insert cannot figure out that carriage returns inside quotes are not row terminators. How to overcome?

    Ok so I'm making a "simple" web app using the technologies from the topic, recently I found http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flex/articles/flex_hibernate.html so I'm following it and I try to apply it to my app, the only difference being I'm working on a Mac and I'm using MAMP for the database (so no command line for me). The thing is I'm having some trouble with retrieving/connecting to the database. I have the remoting-config.xml, persistance.xml, a News.java class (my Entity), a NewsService.java class, a News.as class - all just like in the tutorial.   • With sqlalchemy how to dynamically bind to database engine on a per-request basis

    I have a Pylons-based web application which connects via Sqlalchemy (v0.5) to a Postgres database. For security, rather than follow the typical pattern of simple web apps (as seen in just about all tutorials), I'm not using a generic Postgres user (e.g. "webapp") but am requiring that users enter their own Postgres userid and password, and am using that to establish the connection. That means we get the full benefit of Postgres security. Complicating things still further, there are two separate databases to connect to. Although they're currently in the same Postgres cluster, they need to be able to move to separate hosts at a later date. We're using sqlalchemy's declarative package, though I can't see that this has any bearing on the matter. Most examples of sqlalchemy show trivial approaches such as setting up the Metadata once, at application startup, with a generic database userid and password, which is used through the web application. This is usually done with Metadata.bind = create_engine(), sometimes even at module-level in the database model files. My question is, how can we defer establishing the connections until the user has logged in, and then (of course) re-use those connections, or re-establish them using the same credentials, for each subsequent request. We have this working -- we think -- but I'm not only not certain of the safety of it, I also think it looks incredibly heavy-weight for the situation. Inside the __call__ method of the BaseController we retrieve the userid and password from the web session, call sqlalchemy create_engine() once for each database, then call a routine which calls Session.bind_mapper() repeatedly, once for each table that may be referenced on each of those connections, even though any given request usually references only one or two tables. So the create_engine() calls occur on every request... I can see that being needed, and the Connection Pool probably caches them and does things sensibly. But calling Session.bind_mapper() once for each table, on every request? Seems like there has to be a better way. Obviously, since a desire for strong security underlies all this, we don't want any chance that a connection established for a high-security user will inadvertently be used in a later request by a low-security user.

    Hi everybody! In a winforms application i 'm storing one Wingdings char in a SQL Server 2005 field of type NVARCHAR(1). Storing, retrieving and showing up this char in a control works fine. The problem i'm facing is this: how to search for records which have a specific wingding char value: for example Select * from table where FieldWithWingding = valueOfLeftArrowChar How to achieve this? Cursor c = db.rawQuery("SELECT * FROM tbl_staff WHERE PMajor = '%" + spin.getSelectedItem().toString() + "%'", null); Cursor c: it is a cursor for handling my query tbl_staff: my table that consist of PName,PMajor,PCert spin: is spinner that has values which I need for my database query. When I use: if (c.moveToNext()) else (log.d("error query","couldn't do the query!");) It goes to else statement and moveToNext() doesn't work.

  • Possible to cancel paging in ListView using DataPager

    I'm using a datapager control on my listview to perform paging in it. When paging through the table, I need to perform some validations. When these validations are not successfull, the paging should be cancelled. I currently perform the validation in the PagePropertiesChanging event of the ListView, however, the arguments do not provide a Cancel property. protected void MyListView_PagePropertiesChanging(object sender, PagePropertiesChangingEventArgs e) { if (!Validate()) { // cancel the paging action} } Does anyone know if canceling the paging is possible and how to perform it?
