How to confogure the destination folder for the build package? Are there a debug and release versions? Is it possible to debug and step through the C++ code in ADT?     I have created an windows service. I want to open some windows based application from this service. But my windows service is unable to start desktop applications. To enable the access I had to do the following steps: Opened the administrative tool "Services" Right clicked on my service and had to select "properties" Then in the "Log On" tab, selected "Allow service to interact with desktop". After that my service can open desired windows based processes. Can I configure my windows service in the code (C#) to access the desktop so that I won't have to change the access permission manually after installation?

  • Delphi 7 - Why does Windows 7 change encoding of characters in runtime?

    I have a delphi 7 form: and my code: when I run this form in Windows 7, I see: In design time, form had polish letters in first label, but it doesn't have them in runtime. It looks ok on Vista or Windows XP. When I set caption of second label in code, everything works fine and characters are properly encoded. First 5 codes of top label on Windows 7: 65 97 69 101 83 First 5 codes of top label on Windows Vista/XP: 165 185 202 234 140 First 5 codes of bottom label on every system: 165 185 202 234 140 Windows 7 changes encoding, why? My system settings seem to be ok. I have proper language set for non-unicode applications in control panel.

    Hi Experts, Who can help me with this: I am working on Win7 x64, with VS.net 2008. I am developping for pocketpc. When my application is deployed to the device emulator it can't connect to my computer / db server. Both de emulator as well the mobile device center are configured to use DMA.     I know about the GetLastInputInfo method but that would only give me the duration since last user input - keyboard or mouse. If a user input was last received 10 minutes ago, that wouldn't mean the system has been idle for 10 minutes - scans, downloads, movies - lots of reasons. So how can we identify whether the system is truly idle or not? Does anyone know what Window's definition of "idle" is? Must be a combination of thresholds - like less than 5% cpu util, less than 3% disk util etc. - along with the user input parameter...anyone knows the exact definition?

E.g given the following directory structure: folder1 folder2 folder3 data.zip info.txt abc.xyz folder4 folder5 data.zip somefile.exe someotherfile.dll The files data.zip and info.txt can appear everywhere in the directory structure. How can I copy the full directory structure, but only include files named data.zip and info.txt (all other files should be ignored)? The resulting directory structure should look like this: copy_of_folder1 folder2 folder3 data.zip info.txt folder4 folder5 data.zip

    i have used a mail function. after inserting every record simultaneously from multiple PC. I have set a timer which ticks for every 2 min. while it ticks it start to check the record and it send the mail. i have used background worker for that.in Bgdworker the mail fn will be called. private void timer_Startsendingemail_Tick(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (!bgw_startsendingemail.IsBusy) bgw_startsendingemail.RunWorkerAsync(); } private void bgw_startsendingemail_DoWork(object sender, DoWorkEventArgs e) { sendingMail(); sendingsms(); } in sendingmail() fn the datas fetch from database and send the mail based on email settings to all the inserted rec. but the prob is the timer triggered for 2 min often , and the process will be working fine and nothing there in log file but sometime the mail is not received by the clients.how to fix the prob. how to find out where it is strucked... its hard to find the problem. any idea over this??????????/

    Does anyone know a solution to this problem? I'm unable to open a subdirectory within a symboliclink'd directory. I've confirmed that the paths are correct (even copy & pasted the path into explorer, which parsed it fine). This is a strange, annoying, bug :|. Example: C:\folder\symbolic_link\dir1\dir2 - opening dir2 fails. C:\folder\symbolic_link\dir1 - works C:\folder\real_directory\dir1\dir2 - works C:\folder\real_directory\dir1 - works

    I have a databound Listbox bound to a generic list as follows (Provider is a very simple class that just includes a single property (Name). ProviderList = new List<Provider>(); //Populate list Providers.ItemsSource = ProviderList; I can save the selected item with no problem but I can't manage to set the selected item from code afterwards. I am trying to do so as follows: int x = Providers.Items.IndexOf((Provider)_Settings["provider"]); However IndexOf() is always returning -1. If I inspect both Providers.Items[1] and _Setting["provider"] at runtime using the immediate window they both return {StoreRetrieveData.Provider} Name: "Greenflag" Am I doing something wrong (well clearly I am)?

  • Temporary files & folders on Windows

    Emulating multithreading by loading a DLL multiple times (it's designed for this). Since LoadLibrary() doesn't really allow it, the DLL copies itself into a temporary file, via GetTempPath() and GetTempFileName(). It's a small file and upon thread destruction it frees the library and deletes the temporary file. Problem now is that the number of threads is configurable (maniacs can pick 50, 100, more) which basically exposes the risk of running unstable, crash and not go through the usual "delete temporary files" routine. Is it okay if I just leave those temporary files to die there? Does the OS usually clean the up by itself? Or should I write an autocleanup routine? If yes, how can I go about saving another temporary file to hold a list with those files, and not hit UAC restrictions or otherwise? Any ideas?

  • Prompts for windows authentication when viewing a page in Web site

    Hello All, When i try to view a PARTICULAR page in my web site, it prompts for user name and password. Irrespective of providing proper user name/password and clicking OK or directly clicking Cancel button, the page is getting loaded properly. I am not sure why the authentication screen appears!!! It happens only for that particular page. Initially I thought it could be with file permission but copy pasted another page (which works fine) and renaming it doesn't solve the problem. Thoughts pl. EDIT I copied the source from the browser for that particular page and saved it as HTML. When i try to open the HTML file, it prompts for authentication.
