• Jboss EAP 5 and Tomcat 6 on the same Win env. (Jboss gets Toncat`s home page when`s up)

  Hi guys, I`m newbie to Java technologies, just trying to catch up some idea of it. I was trying to build a java environment to play with Eclipse, Mysql, Tomcat and Jboss and integrate these together. I did: 1. Installed jdk1.6.0_20 (including JAVA_HOME and path variables; I work on Win Vista), mysql 5 and eclipse-jee-galileo (the latest one, 3.6 I believe) and all went good - java programs are compiled and run getting a DB connection. 2. Installed Jboss enterprise-installer-5.0.1.jar with localhost:8080 and this also went good - run.bat started it and I could log in as admin thru its home page. I integrated it with eclipse and could start and stop it from there too. 3. I got apache-tomcat-6.0.26-windows-x86 and this also runs and stops from command line and from eclipse. But this one uses localhost:8080 without asking. Now the problem is when I start jboss I get Tomcat home page and I can`t fix it. Is it probably because both now use localhost:8080? BTW, does Jboss EAP 5 contain Tomcat inside and I shouldn't add that Tomcat separately? Thanks for you help in advance, Eddie

• Windows with Plesk Panel installs ActiveState Python 2.5.0 - any thoughts?

  I expect to run Pylons on a Windows Server 2003 and IIS 6 on a Virtual Private Server (VPS). Most work with the VPS is done through the Plesk 8.6 panel. The Plesk panel has a lot of maintenance advantages for us. However, this Plesk configuration installs ActiveState Python 2.5.0. The Parallels Plesk documents for 8.6 and version 9 insist that only this configuration should be installed. I'm not eager to settle for the baseline 2.5.0. but don't see any safe upgrade path. How has ActiveState Python 2.5.0 been for other users? Can you replace the Parallels\Plesk\Additional\Python with another distribution? I don't want to break Plesk, please. Previously, I followed these instructions, Serving a Pylons app with IIS - Pylons Cookbook Using the default web site IP address, I had Python 2.6.3 installing the ISAPI-WSGI dll in IIS so that I successfully ran Pylons in a virutalenv through IIS using the IP address, no domain name. I would be so happy if I could run this successful configuration for my domains while I must use Plesk. Tips and solutions appreciated.

• Selenium RC: how to capture/handle error?

  Hi, My test uses Selenium to loop through a CSV list of URLs via an HTTP proxy (working script below). As I watch the script run I can see about 10% of the calls produce "Proxy error: 502" ("Bad_Gateway"); however, the errors are not captured by my catch-all "except Exception" clause -- ie: instead of writing 'error' in the appropriate row of the "output.csv", they get passed to the else clause and produce a short piece of html that starts: "Proxy error: 502 Read from server failed: Unknown error." Also, if I collect all the URLs which returned 502s and re-run the script, they all pass, which leads me to believe that this is a sporadic network path issue. Question: Can the script be made to recognize the the 502 errors, sleep a minute, and then retry the URL instead of moving on to the next URL in the list? The only alternative that I can think of is to apply re.search("Proxy error: 502") after "get_html_source" as a way to catch the bad calls. Then, if the RE matches, put the script to sleep for a minute and then retry 'sel.open(row[0]' on the URL which produced the 502. Any advice would be much appreciated. • Mixed Mode C++ DLL function call failure when app launched from network share. Called from unmanage

  Mixed-mode DLL called from native C application fails to load: An unhandled exception of type 'System.IO.FileLoadException' occurred in Unknown Module. Additional information: Could not load file or assembly 'XXSharePoint, Version=0.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=e0fbc95fd73fff47' or one of its dependencies. Failed to grant minimum permission requests. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131417) My environment is: Native C application calling a mixed mode C++ DLL, which then loads a C# DLL.. This works correctly when loaded from a local drive, but when launched from a network drive, it fails with the above messages. The call to LoadLibrary succeeds, as does the GetProcAddress. The load error happens when I call the function. I have digitally signed the C application, and I've performed "strong name" signing on the 2 DLLs. The PublickKeyToken in the message above does match the named DLL. I have also issued the CASPOLcommands on my client to grant FullTrust to that strong name keytoken. When that failed to work, I tried the CASPOL command to grant FullTrust to the URL of the network drive (including path to my application's directory); no change in results. I tried removing all dependencies, so that there was just the initial mixed-mode DLL... I replaced the bodies of all the functions with just a return of a "success" integer value. Results unchanged. Only when I changed it from Mixed Mode to Win32, and changed the Configuration Properties General Common Language Runtime Support from "Common Language Runtime Support" to "No Common Language Runtime Support" did calling the DLL produce the expected result (just returned the "success" integer return value).

  I've started trying out the C++11 standard and i found this question which describes how to call your ctor from another ctor in the same class to avoid having a init method or the like. What's the reason behind this and how should i fix it? I've tried moving the lines(lines) to the body with this->lines = lines; instead and it works fine.   Let's say I have a class called Medium which can represent different types of media. • Faster image loading

  I want to display about 5-8 images on my page, one by one, but I would like them to pre-load one and not loading them each time i switch to anohter image. I have seen some examples where they have all images (hidden) on the page something like: <a href=""><img id="img1" src="images/image1.png" class="image" alt="" /></a> <a href=""><img id="img2" src="images/image1.png" class="image" alt="" /></a> <a href=""><img id="img3" src="images/image1.png" class="image" alt="" /></a> And the unhide the current image. And what I have is one image that i change it's src attribute for path for new images from th array. SwitchNextImage: function(){ var theimg=document.getElementById("imgContainer"); this.currentIndex = this.currentIndex+ 1 == this.totalImageCount ? 0 : this.currentIndex + 1; theimg.src=this.slideimages[this.currentIndex].src; } The first method is obviously faster loading. But requies static links. My questions is how can I make my method more faster loading?

  How do I go about the [HandleError] filter in asp.net MVC Preview 5? I set the customErrors in my web.config file <customErrors mode="On" defaultRedirect="Error.aspx"> <error statusCode="403" redirect="NoAccess.htm"/> <error statusCode="404" redirect="FileNotFound.htm"/> </customErrors> and put [HandleError] above my Controller Class like this: [HandleError] public class DSWebsiteController: Controller{ [snip] public ActionResult CrashTest() { throw new Exception("Oh Noes!"); } } Then I let my controllers inherit from this class and call CrashTest() on them. Visual studio halts at the error and after pressing f5 to continue, I get rerouted to Error.aspx?aspxerrorpath=/sxi.mvc/CrashTest (where sxi is the name of the used controller. Off course the path cannot be found and I get "Server Error in '/' Application." 404. This site was ported from preview 3 to 5. Everything runs (wasn't that much work to port) except the error handling. When I create a complete new project the error handling seems to work. Ideas? --Note-- Since this question has over 3K views now, I thought it would be beneficial to put in what I'm currently (asp.net mvc 1.0) using. In the mvc contrib project there is a brilliant attribute called "RescueAttribute" You should probably check it out too ;)

• centos: linking lib that doesn't have a .pc file for pkg-config

I think I've managed to get the required dependencies installed using yum: sudo yum install librsvg2 sudo yum install cairo The Makefile contains: MYCFLAGS=`pkg-config --cflags librsvg-2.0 cairo-pdf` -Wall -Wpointer-arith -Wstrict-prototypes -Wmissing-prototypes -Wmissing-declarations - Wnested-externs -fno-strict-aliasing MYLDFLAGS=`pkg-config --libs librsvg-2.0 cairo-pdf` After typing 'make', the first couple of lines of output are: cc `pkg-config --cflags librsvg-2.0 cairo-pdf` -Wall -Wpointer-arith -Wstrict-prototypes -Wmissing-prototypes -Wmissing-declarations -Wnested-externs -fno-strict-aliasing `pkg-config --libs librsvg-2.0 cairo-pdf` svg2pdf.c -o svg2pdf Package librsvg-2.0 was not found in the pkg-config search path. Perhaps you should add the directory containing `librsvg-2.0.pc' to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable No package 'librsvg-2.0' found There is no librsvg-2.0.pc on this system (but there is when I installed this using macports on my macbookpro). How should I get this package linked? Should I change the Makefile, and if so, to what? Should I generate the .pc files, and if so, how? Or is there another way to resolve this? Or, has anyone been successful at installing svg2pdf on centos, and, if so, how did you manage it? I don't have much experience on linux, so I might be missing something obvious.

Now I'm trying inject this file location from spring inside bean from this class and I specify the init-method of this class. But I get error cannot find the specified file as if its not on a classpath but it is inside war file? I'm building the project with maven and I put file in src/main/resources This is the error I get when trying to read file : Error: src\main\resources\ids.txt (The system cannot find the path specified) That is when I tried this : FileInputStream fstream = new FileInputStream("src\\main\\resources\\ids.txt"); how to reference the properly from the classpath? • Mouse bugginess - SWFObject, Firefox 3 for Mac, and Flash

  I'm pulling my hair out over a problem I'm encountering on Firefox 3.5 & 3.6 on OS X. I'm using SWFobject to embed an AmMap of the US, which has rollover tooltips for various states. The rollovers are working fine in every other browser I've tested, but they're very buggy on FF for Mac--most of the time they don't show up at all, but if I persistently click a state that's supposed to have a hover event, I might catch a glimpse of the tooltip. Here's the code for the SWFObject embed (incidentally, this isn't being done in the document head due to templating reasons). I use jquery to add them: $("#fieldcontainer").append("<div><label for=\"testurl\">Test Url</label><br /><input name=\"testurl[]\" type=\"text\" id=\"testurl_1\" value=\"\" /></div>"); $("#fieldcontainer").append("<div><label for=\"testpath\">Test Path</label><br /><input name=\"testpath[]\" type=\"text\" id=\"testpath_1\" value=\"\" /></div>"); I can easily add a click handler to make those form fields appear. But how would I keep track of what form fields were already added? When multiple fields are selected, the appropriate number of input fields needs to be added to the fieldcontainer div. And if they are unselected, the input fields need to be removed again. I also need to retrieve the value from the options in the select list to add them as identifier in the added input fields...

• Full text index requires dropping and recreating - why?

  Hi all, So I've got a web app running on .net 3.5 connected to a SQL 2005 box. We do scheduled releases every 2 weeks. About 14 tables out of 250 are full text indexed. After not every release, but a few too many, the indexes crap out. They seem to have data in there, but when we try to search them from the front end or SQL enterprise we get timeouts/hangs. We have a script that disables the indexes, drops them, deletes the catalog and then re creates the indexes. This fixes the problem 99 times out of 100. and the one other time, we run the script again and it all works We have tried just rebuilding the fulltext index but that doesn't fix the issue. My question is why do we have to do this ? what can we do to sort the index out?   I have been using this website to learn a lot about C# for a while, but this is my first time posting a question. I look forward to hearing back from some of the seasoned C# veterans! I have been working on a C# 4.0 WPF project and need to figure out how to databind a boolean value. I have a reference to my Application.Current object in a window. My "App" object contains a boolean field called "Downloaded" that is true if the user has downloaded information from a web service. I need to databind a textbox's IsEnabled field to this Downloaded value. Any tips? Here is what I have come up with so far. (Any useful links to better learn WPF XAML are greatly appreciated!) • XCTest.framework build error

  I am using the DropBox Core API in my app and therefore, I must include the XCTest framework, because, when I haven't added the XCTest framework, my app can't connect to dropbox, however when I do add the framework, I get an error while building for the simulator. • Unable to create website error (NEW)

  I copied my ClickOnce deployment to my C:/Inetpub/ folder on my webserver and I deleted my Virtual directory. I deleted the WpfApplication1 folder beneath wwwroot in Win Explorer. Then I turned on Web Sharing for this folder. Then I viewed my IIS Manager and this new Share name appeared under wwwroot. So now under Inetpub folder on my web server I have the following directory path: C:\Inetpub\WpfApplication1\ with contents: Application Files publish.htm setup.exe WpfApplication1.application Next, I remapped both the publishing and installation URL's for the project to http://myserver/WpfApplication1/ And I clicked Publish Now. But after I performed a Publish Now operation, I got the following error on my development server (D610-M): Error 1 Failed to connect to 'http://myserver/WpfApplication1/' with the following error: Unable to create the Web site 'http://myserver/WpfApplication1/'. The Web server does not appear to have any authentication methods enabled. It asked for user authentication, but did not send a WWW-Authenticate header. 1 1 WpfApplication1 On my webserver, when I click Browse from the IIS Manager on the WpfApplication1 directory, it shows me the Install page. But after I click the Browse button, it returns an error which says: The remote name could not be resolved: 'd610-m' (D610-M is the name of my development server). How do I fix this?
