I've never forked a project before, but this project is very similar to something that I need/want.   I installed xampp back around January 2009, and CF8 to test coldfusion on my macbook (note: I do not think that this issue is related to CF, but only xampp). I only ever used the apache part of xampp, and this was working for over a year. In the last couple of months at the most I've started getting the following error message (even for none CF sites, and non .cfm pages, the error occurs for .html files..): Access forbidden! You don't have permission to access the requested object. It is either read-protected or not readable by the server. • Compiling zip component for PHP 5.2.11 in MAMP PRO

  I installed MAMP PRO on my Macbook Pro (10.6) some time ago. Now I would like to use zip functions in php. I found that I must add zip.so to my extension folder and edited php.ini. On my computer I have two different versions of PHP one in MAMP folder and other in user/lib which was pre-installed on my system. Now I wish to compile my zip library for MAMP version. I got zip sources for my version of PHP then in terminal called function /Applications/MAMP/bin/php5/bin/phpize so it uses mamp php version ./configure make then I moved compile zip.so to extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20060613. When MAMP is launched it returns this error [11-Apr-2010 16:33:27] PHP Warning: PHP Startup: zip: Unable to initialize module Module compiled with module API=20090626, debug=0, thread-safety=0 PHP compiled with module API=20060613, debug=0, thread-safety=0 These options need to match in Unknown on line 0 Can somebody explain to me how to do this the right way.

• Kaspersky AV is slowing down my connection significantly

  Hi, I'm using Kaspersky AV 2010, and I've noticed recently in Firefox (DownThemAll download manager) that my download speed has been significantly reduced after installing Kaspersky (from 450 kb/s to 30 kb/s!!). I can solve the issue temporarily by pausing protection and then resuming it again. But it's getting frustrating since I have to do this every few hours. Also another issue I have with the AV (which could be related) is that it forces all network traffic to go through it! (Nod32 didnt do that). Any idea what could be causing this? Your help is much appreciated

• Determinism in multiplayer simulation with Box2D, and single computer

  I wrote a small test car driving multiplayer game with Box2D using TCP server-client communcations. I ran 1 instance of server.exe and 2 instance of client.exe on the same machine that I code and compile the executables. I type inputs (WASD for a simple car movement) into one of the 2 clients and I can get both clients to update the simulation. There are 2 cars in the simulation. As long as the cars do not collide, I get the same identical output on both client.exe. I can run the car(s) around for as long as I could they still update the same. However, if I start to collide the cars, very quickly they go out of sync. My tools: Windows 7, C++, MSVS 2010, Box2D, freeGlut. My Psuedocode: // client.exe void timer(int value) { tcpServer.send(my_inputs); foreach(i = player including myself) inputs[i] = tcpServer.receive(); foreach(i = player including myself) players[i].process(inputs[i]); myb2World.step(33, 8, 6); // Box2D world step simulation foreach(i = player including myself) renderer.render(player[i]); glutTimerFunc(33, timer, 0); } // server.exe void serviceloop { while(all clients alive) { foreach(c = clients) tcpClients[c].receive(&inputs[c]); // send input of each client to all clients foreach(source = clients) { foreach(dest = clients) { tcpClients[dest].send(inputs[source]); } } } } I have read all over the internet and SE the following claims (paraphrased): Box2D is deterministic as long as floating point architecture/implementation is the same. (For any deterministic engine) Determinism is gauranteed if playback of recorded inputs is on the same machine with exe compiled using same compiler and machine. Additionally my server.exe and client.exe gameloop is single thread with blocking socket calls and fixed time step. Question: Can anyone explain what I did wrong to get different Box2D output?

• DotNetNuke + PayPal

  A DotNetNuke i'm supporting has had a paypal "buy now" button and other variations with custom fields for a while now. About 2 weeks ago (somewhere in March 2010) they all stopped working. The problem manifested such that once you clicked the "buy now" button, Paypal site would throw a scary error page to the effect of: "Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log" Once I verified no cheeky content editor changed the page, I went digging for answers. The main source incompatibility of PayPal's simple HTML forms is that DNN includes a form on every page, and nested forms are not really supported. As blogged here and lamented here, the solution I came up with is simply to modify the form enctype to 'application/x-www-form-urlencoded' as illustrated below: 1: <input type="image" border="0" 2: src="https://www.paypal.com/en_US/i/btn/btn_buynowCC_LG.gif" 3: name="submit" 4: alt="PayPal - The safer, easier way to pay online!" 5: onClick="this.form.action='https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr'; this.form.enctype='application/x-www-form-urlencoded';this.form.submit();" /> One would think that PayPal would want the masses submitting HTML in all manners of "enctype", but I guess every company has it's quirks. At least my favorite non-profit can now continue and accept payments. Sigh.

• Disable creation of appointment when typing into Outlook calendar

  Outlook (both 2010 and 2007) has a "feature" that creates an appointment if I type some text while the calendar window has focus. This keeps biting me every now and then when I erroneously have focus on the calendar window and start typing. To me, this feature is twice as annoying: There is no easy way to escape out of it - I end up using mouse to select the newly created bogus event and then to delete it. Sometimes, if the focus is on an already existing event, such spurious typing changes the text without an easy way to undo. Question: is there a way to make Outlook stop creating/modifying events upon typing, forcing me instead to double click an event or Ctrl-N in order to process my input?

  I'm happy to announce that the Endeca UI Design Pattern Library - now titled the Endeca Discovery Pattern Library - is once again providing guidance and good practices on the design of discovery experiences.  Launched publicly in 2010 following several years of internal development and usage, the Endeca Pattern Library is a unique and valued source of industry-leading perspective on discovery - something I've come to appreciate directly through  fielding the consistent stream of inquiries about the library's status, and requests for its rapid return to public availability. Restoring the library as a public resource is only the first step!  For the next stage of the library's evolution, we plan to increase the scope of the guidance it offers beyond user interface design to the broader topic of discovery.  This could include patterns for architecture at the systems, user experience, and business levels; information and process models; analytical method and activity patterns for conducting discovery; and organizational and resource patterns for provisioning discovery capability in different settings.  We'd like guidance from the community on the kinds of patterns that are most valuable - so make sure to let us know. And we're also considering ways to increase the number of patterns the library offers, possibly by expanding the set of contributors and the authoring mechanisms. • CentOS/Apache killing connections

  Getting a really strange error. Basically, whenever I browse to my server (http://[ip_address] or http://[hostname]), it doesn't load, and my active SSH connection drops out. I installed CentOS 5.5, and then httpd and PHP 5.3. No other applications where installed, so I can't imagine it's something else causing it. I also reinstalled CentOS 5.5 again, completely fresh, the only thing I did to it was yum install httpd, and it still caused this issue. I've changed nothing in the config or anything else. Driving me mad, has anyone heard of this? It's really frustrating since everytime I attempt to debug this issue, I get kicked off SSH and have to log back in. Theres nothing in the Apache error logs, and nothing in the access log recording my attempt. • Update openssl in debian squeeze

  There is this CVE-2014-0224 bug in openssl so I would like to update my affected # openssl version OpenSSL 0.9.8o 01 Jun 2010 But there is no update for squeeze. I read the it is already fixed in squeeze-LTS. What I am supposed to do? Will there be an fix for squeeze and I just need to wait? Should I install an openssl update manually? How? I tried to install openssl-0.9.8za and openssl-1.0.1h with wget, ./config, make, make install but openssl version is still that same. I also tried config parameters but with this build fails.

  Hi friends, I'm badly affected with 'Google AppEngine-Google' UserAgent.. receiving 5/6 requests per second on http server. This bot is crawling my site just like GoogleBot does. • Mounting Google Driva via WebDav directly on Google

  I would like to mount on my RPi my Google Drive using davfs2 but I did not find any direct way to do it for Google Drive. There are instructions on how to use dav-pocket to indirectly do that but these are from 2010. Google group discussions about the lack of direct WebDAV access to Google are roughly from the same time and I could not find any other way to do the mount. Has anything changed and would anyone know if Google enabled WebDAV - and if so what is the URL? An alternate synchronization system would be fine as well (rsync for instance) - I did not find any particular infos either Thank you!
