• Import/commit to svn branch from a different codebase

  I am trying to migrate to svn from a not-so-famous version control system (lets call it nsfvc). svn trunk was created some time ago from nsfvc's trunk. There is an active branch in nsfvc that I have to import to svn branch. The diff between nsfvc's trunk and branch is huge (updates, renames, additions, deletions, moves). So the question is simple, how can i correct this ,but "$a = new myClass();" is not inside the function, since in .NET world can do this, i believe PHP also possible. And one more question is, what is the modify of function in A.php ,if i have not state private/public/protected???

• Does a CPU assigns a value atomically to memory?

  Hi! A quick question I've been wondering about for some time; Does the CPU assign values atomically, or, is it bit by bit (say for example a 32bit integer). If it's bit by bit, could another thread accessing this exact location get a "part" of the to-be-assigned value? Think of this: I have two threads and one shared "unsigned int" variable (call it "g_uiVal"). Both threads loop. On is printing "g_uiVal" with printf("%u\n", g_uiVal). The second just increase this number. Will the printing thread ever print something that is totally not or part of "g_uiVal"'s value? • How do I get the raw dimensions of a bitmap in an ImageView?

  It seems like I might be overlooking something obvious, but I can't figure out how to retrieve the raw (unscaled) dimensions of a bitmap being displayed in an ImageView. For example, if I load a bitmap using Bitmap b = BitmapFactory.decodeResource(...), I can get those dimensions from b.getWidth() and b.getHeight(), and I could pass the bitmap into an ImageView using setImageBitmap(b). But if I have a subclass of ImageView, is there any way to retrieve those dimensions without having to pass them in explicitly? I guess I'm looking for a getImageBitmap() analog of ImageView's setImageBitmap() method, which would retrieve a Bitmap object that I can call getWidth() and getHeight() on. Any other way to retrieve the original dimensions would work too, though.

• Updating counters through Hibernate

  This is an extremely common situation, so I'm expecting a good solution. Basically we need to update counters in our tables. As an example a web page visit: Web_Page -------- Id Url Visit_Count So in hibernate, we might have this code: webPage.setVisitCount(webPage.getVisitCount()+1); The problem there is reads in mysql by default don't pay attention to transactions. So a highly trafficked webpage will have inaccurate counts. The way I'm used to doing this type of thing is simply call: update Web_Page set Visit_Count=Visit_Count+1 where Id=12345; I guess my question is, how do I do that in Hibernate? And secondly, how can I do an update like this in Hibernate which is a bit more complex? update Web_Page wp set wp.Visit_Count=(select stats.Visits from Statistics stats where stats.Web_Page_Id=wp.Id) + 1 where Id=12345;

• How to prevent unit test from using util from test project?

  I am using eclipse and I have two projects, project1 and project1-test. Below is the example layout of my projects: project1 -src --my.package ----MyClass.java --my.package.util ----util.java project1-test -src --my.package ----MyClassTest.java --my.package.util ----util.java MyClass.java makes a static call to the util.java in project1. MyClassTests.java is testing MyClass.java. When the test class runs, it fails and complains that MyClass.java is referencing a method in util.java that doesn't exist. Under project1, the method being referenced exists in util.java but under project1-test, the method doesn't. When I run MyClassTests.java, the util.java that is being referenced from MyClass.java is from project1-test when it should be project1. Is there some way to make MyClass.java not reference util.java from project1-test when running MyClassTest.java?

• Using an ActiveX object from an Outlook hosted webpage - possible?

  I'm trying to do the following: We have an outlook plugin, written in .NET (and C++). It does various things, and is manually installed on the end users machines (usually via AD deployment or similar) We are changing our search to use a webpage-based search, but from within outlook. That part is ok, however we want to communicate from the webpage to the surrounding outlook application. We can call into outlook by exposing an ActiveX object from our plugin, however we get security warnings, even if it's signed and marked as safe for scripting. Is this even possible? Has anyone done it? Anyone have a better way of doing it? We only need to pass in a small amount of data (a message id), and only from the webpage to outlook [update]: This is the error: automation server can't create object. We can get around it a bit by turning things off in IE, but thats not a good way to do it! Thanks

• Customized annotation problem

  I want my custom UIView (.Xib View) to appear when user tabs on pins (not apple's callOutBubble) and in that UIView there should be a button which fires an IBAction on touched down event. Therefore I have added an AddObserver method to MKAnnotationView. which responds to touch events over pin in MKMapView. I have also added 3 buttons over that XIB view, which have also assigned IBActions. But when I run my application, buttons in the customized annotation view are not responding to IBAction (Touch Down). Why does this happen, and how can I fix it? I need to call a method when those 3 buttons are tabbed.

  I have a methode in2.getImagesOneDim() which gives me an array of integers, to be more precise the pixel values of an image. Now i want to create one big array with all the pixel values of all the images. Therefore I have to call this method several times. Now I would like to concatenate the previous output to the current output until all images are read. In some kind of pseudo code, where the + is a concatination ... : for (int i = 1; i < 25; i++) { ConArray = ConArray + in2.getImagesOneDim("../images/"+i); } How would I do this in java ?

• Permissions for Large Variables to Be Sent Via Stored Procedures (SQL Server)

  I can't figure out a way to allow more than 4000 bytes to be received at once via a call to a stored procedure. I am storing images in the table that are around 15 - 20 kilobytes each, but upon getting them and displaying them to the page, they are always exactly 3.91 KB in size (or 4000 bytes). Do stored procedures have a limit on how much data can be sent at once? I double-checked my data, and I am indeed only receiving the first 4000 characters from the varbinary(MAX) field. Is there a permission setting to allow more than 4k bytes at once?

  I have a bash script that uses a few variables (call them $foo and $bar). Right now the script defines them at the top with hard coded values like this: foo=fooDefault bar=barDefault .... # use $foo and $bar What I want is to be able to use the script like any of these: myscript # use all defaults myscript -foo=altFoo # use default bar myscript -bar=altBar # use default foo myscript -bar=altBar -foo=altFoo An ideal solution would allow me to just list the variable that I want to check for flags for. Is there a reasonably nice way to do this? I've seen getopt and I think it might do about 70% of what I'm looking for but I'm wondering if there is a tool or indium that builds on it or the like that gets the rest.

  Hi guys, I have this thing that i need to do and some advices will be greatly appreciated. I have a Sql server table with some phone calls.For each phone call i have the start and end time. What i need to accomplish: a stored procedure which for a certain period of time, let's say 5 hours at a x interval, lets say 2 minutes returns the number of connected calls. Something like: Interval Nr of Calls Connected 01-01-2010 12:00:00 - 01-01-2010 12:05:00 30 01-01-2010 12:05:01 - 01-01-2010 12:10:00 10 ............. Which will be the fastest way to do that?   I'm using the following code to post to the server which is then sent to a MYSQL query to find matches via search. $.ajax({ url: '/search/spotlight/', data: "q=" + $(this).val(), success: function(data) { } }); When Q's val has spaces in it, it's creating problems. I'm wondering if I'm handling this correctly? Do I need to encode the value in the AJAX call? Or is this a problem on my backend, which is ColdFusion Right now JQUERY is posting the following to the server: /search/spotlight/?q=FirstName%20LastName is this right?

Assume $cog is a cached selector of multiple items. $cog.fadeOut('slow',function(){ alert('hey'); }) In that example, of $cog is a jQuery object of 4 DOM elements, the above will fade each element out one by one, and trigger an alert each time on the callback (4 alerts). I'd like to only call the alert when all 4 elements are done with their fadeOut function. This: $cog.fadeOut('slow',function(){ }) alert('hey'); when run, will show an alert, then the $cog elements disappear (I'm guessing due to timing issues with the fadeOut animation) Is there a way when calling a function against multiple DOM objects in a jQuery object to know when it's done with the last item?

• Git is deleting an ignored file when i switch branches

  I have one branch (let's call it B) that ignores a certain file, which isn't ignored in some other branches (eg branch A). When i switch from branch B to branch A, then back to B again, the file has been deleted. Is this normal? I can sort of see how it would happen, in the sense that branch B thinks it's not there, and branch A thinks that it is, so when i go back to B it 'tidies it away'. But it's kind of annoying. When I include some function from a header file in a C++ program, does the entire header file code get copied to the final executable or only the machine code for the specific function is generated. For example, if I call std::sort from the <algorithm> header in C++, is the machine code generated only for the sort() function or for the entire <algorithm> header file. I think that a similar question exists somewhere on Stack Overflow, but I have tried my best to find it (I glanced over it once, but lost the link). If you can point me to that, it would be wonderful.

  HI, I would like to profile my c++ application on linux. I would like to find out how much time my application spent on CPU processing vs time spent on block by IO/being idle. I know there is a profile tool call valgrind on linux. But it breaks down time spent on each method, and it does not give me an overall picture of how much time spent on CPU processing vs idle? Or is there a way to do that with valgrind. Thank you.

  Currently me and my friend are developing a website, for what we will call 'projects' we just have a basic auto increment id in the database used to navigate to projects such as oururl.com/viewproject?id=1 but we started thinking, if we have alot of posted projects thats going to be a LONG url. So we need to somehow randomly generate a alphanumerical string about 6 characters long.   I am trying to change the color of the text of tabbar item,programmatically. But my apps gets crashed with error at console : *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '-[_UIAppearance setTitleTextAttributes:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x79f5790' *** First throw call stack: Not sure, why i am getting a crash. Also please suggest, if there is any other way to change the font color of the tabbar items. Thanks
