  • link_to syntax with rails3 (link_to_remote) and basic javascript not working in a rails3 app?

    i am wondering if the basic link_to syntax is completely broken in current rails3 master or if i am doing some wrong syntax here. = link_to "name", nil, :onlick => "alert('Hello world!');" should actually produce an alert on click. very simple. does not work on my rails3 project! (also no error output!) any ideas? for the general link_to syntax i could not find an example where i could combine a link_to_remote with a confirmation, remote and html class (see my try below) = link_to "delete", {:action => "destroy", :remote => true, :method => :delete, :confirm => "#{a.title} wirklich L&ouml;schen?" }, :class => "trash" even the rails3 api does not help me here: http://rails3api.s3.amazonaws.com/index.html help!

  • How does the HUD prioritize commands?

    Every now and then I want to reach the "Edit Preferences" menu item in Firefox, and the HUD makes this very convenient. ALT + "Edi" will suggest exactly that to me. Something that I find annoying however is that if I complete the work "Edit" instead, the HUD will switch to suggest "Network Edit preferences" instead. While this is a perfectly valid match as well, it seems like an inconsistent behaviour to me. Could someone explain in more detail how the matching works, so that I can make better use of the HUD?

    Hi, I wrote an application and now I'm making a tray-icon. Now I want to set a multi-line tooltiptext to the tray-icon. But I don't know how. I know how to do this with Swing: component.setToolTipText("<html>Line 1<br>Line2</html>"); But this doesn't work with AWT. Also serarating lines by \n doesn't work.     I have HTML page which contains line: <iframe id="xyz" width="900" height="250" scrolling="no"..></iframe> From my firefox extension i'm trying to get the iframe height. so i'm registering the browser to a event as follow in my extension: appcontent.addEventListener("DOMContentLoaded",myfunction); where appcontent is browser object, myfunction(event): function { var framelist =window.content.document.getElementsByTagName("iframe"); for(var i=0;i<framelist.length;i++) { if(framelist[i].id == "xyz") var frameheight=framelist[i].height; } } when i tried to load this page intially frameheight gives 250 as per in html page but then it gives 0 as height. What would be the cause for this behaviour. is any other script changing the value of iframe height in between ? Help me

So added the timestamp: new Date().getTime() part. That fixed the IE issue. I want o know why this happens in jQuery? Do I need to include a timestamp parameter to URL to avoid caching in all jQuery Ajax calls?

    Hello, I have a PHP page (a.php) which is already sending these headers: <?php header('Cache-Control: no-cache, no-store, max-age=0, must-revalidate'); header('Expires: Mon, 26 Jul 1997 05:00:00 GMT'); header('Pragma: no-cache'); ?> And on the PHP page (a.php) , it has a link to another page (b.html) on b.html, it has a javascript code to: <script type="text/javascript"> history.go(-1); </scirpt> It seems to me that, when the browser is "going back" to a.php,the content isn't fresh at all. Would you please advise me if generating a completely fresh page on history.go(-1) is possible? Thank you.

    Is there a way to test the url you're entering in a step, to see if Google Analytics will recognize it? What I'd like to do is provide some web page or some web service with a URL, and get a pass or fail. It passes if Google Analytics recognizes a page hit to the url. Let me give some context. We've been having issues with our goal funnel steps in Google Analytics. The instructions on adding steps say not to use the domain. e.g. DO NOT use : http://www.mysite.com/step1.html INSTEAD use: /step1.html Our custom CRM uses friendly urls and as a result GA is having a hard time picking up on them. So we've experimented with changing around url we've placed in the step, however we've got to wait a day to see if the new url we've provided is going to work! Hence why we're looking for something quicker.

  • How could I insert a string into the response stream anywhere I want?

    There may be an easy way to do this but I can't see it... I created a simple Http Module that starts a timer on the PreRequestHandler and stops the timer on the PostRequestHandler to calculate the time it took the page to load. I then create some simple html and write my results to Response.Write. Since I'm doing this in the PostRequestHandler it's adding my results after the </html> tag. That's fine for testing but I need in a scenario where the page needs to validate. I can't seem to figure out how I could manipulate the Response object to insert my results before the </body> tag. Response.Write and Response.Output.Write don't have that flexibility and I couldn't see a way to work with the Response as a string. Am I missing something easy?

The problem is that i should be able to move that element around, but if i append it to my DOM i can't drag it at all. So is the live()-function solution? If it is, how should i use it? However, when I go to mysite.com/myapp/index I do not get redirected to the login page even though I am logged out. Why is that and how do I fix it?

    I am sure there is a better way to do what I am doing in my apps. The current one I am trying to improve is a list of military cadences. The way I am doing it now is by loading html files in a web view. What I would like to be able to do is have one view set up and just be able to add the text portion of what I would be displaying with the html file. What would be the best method. I know this is probably a pretty simple thing to do with a sting or array but I am at the very beginner level and would need to be pointed in the right direction to do it.

  • Firefox running infinitely even after condition met in jquery function

    The following function is called with setTimeout(function () { get_progress(fileID,fileName)},8000); upon a form submit. The purpose of the function is to get read_file.php to read a txt file that stores the file upload status from a form (in percentage). Upon reaching 80%, my Firefox seems to run infinitely even when HEAD returns an error.     What I got so far: It all begins with an HTML form which prompts the user for a username and password. From there it post the acquired user/pass to a servlet, GateKeeper. GateKeeper determines if the user/pass combination match any records in the MySQL database. Here is the sql I use: SELECT id FROM Users WHERE username='?' AND password=MD5('?') where the ? indicate information provided the previous HTML form. What I need now: I need some way to store the username and id of the record in the database. GateKeeper redirects the user to a control panel upon success. Therefore, I need a method to reference the username to display simple greetings, etc and also the id so it eliminates unnecessary calls to the database. The control panel may make AJAX calls to Servlets that preform some sort of task to the MySQL database.

  • Ubuntu does not recognize install files (easytether)

    I am running Ubuntu 12.4 64amd. I cant get easy tether to install regardless of which version I use (32 or 64bit.) I keep getting an error when I try to run it in the command line. It tells me it not a valid deb file. If I click it on the desktop the instal manager comes up but the install button is not highlighted for me to click to install it that way. Please help. I'll be using my phone as internet modem

  • KineticJS issue with repeatable mouse event

    I have noob issue here (i obviously missing something). I simplified it from my bigger application: When i click blue rectangle, i add another layer to the stage that includes red rectangle (clickable), when i clik this red rectangle it removes second layer with red rect. Problem: When i click blue rect second time, nothing happens :( i.e. app works only once, and i need to add/remove second layer(with red rect) repeatedly. I then put the website sourcecode into a variable like so source = website.read() When I just print the source it comes out formatted correctly, however when I try to iterate through each line each character is it's own line. for example when I just print it looks like this <HTML> title</html> When I do this for line in source: print line it looks like this < H T M L ... etc I need to find a string that starts with "var" and then print that entire line.
