So I use Todo-List externally, to keep track of the things I need to get done. Would be nice to have it all in one place.     I wanted to use HAProxy for my web app for load balancing purpose. I am trying to add a new rabbitmq node dynamically in HAProxy server using command : haproxy -p /var/run/haproxy.pid -sf $(cat /var/run/haproxy.pid). I am doing tcp connection mode with leastconn balance algorithm in load balancing. What is expected is when there is 3 connection in one rabbitmq, I add a new rabbit server in HAProxy server. so the next connection would pass to 2nd rabbitmq server which is not happening in my case. It distributes the connection in haphazardly manner.   • Dynamically add Server 2008 NLB Nodes

    Hi All, I have a small NLB cluster for Terminal Servers. One of the things we're looking at doing for this particular project (this is for a college class) is dynamically creating Terminal Servers. What we've done is create policies for a certain OU, that sets the proper TS Farm properties and installs the Terminal Server role and NLB feature. Now what we'd like to do is create a script to be run on our Domain Controller to add hosts to the preexisting NLB cluster. On our Server 2008 R2 Domain Controller, I was thinking of running the following PowerShell script I've kind of hacked together. Any thoughts on if this will work? Is there any way I can trigger this script to run on the DC once all the scripts to install roles are done on the various Terminal Servers? Thanks very much in advance!!   • Add bookmarks to Delicious and Google Bookmarks at the same time

    I have used delicious.com (or back then, del.icio.us) to store my bookmarks for a long time now, and I love it. I was looking through some of my Google services, and realized they have a bookmarking service that integrates with your Google searches (I thought they had a bookmarking service before, but it went away? Maybe not). I like delicious just fine - I'm not interested in leaving. But I also like how my Google bookmarks are highlighted (and I'm guessing, brought to the top) in my search results so I can easily tell if I've bookmarked a site (kind of like the "promote up" feature). I can't even count the number of times I search for a site only to find I've been there months or years ago. If sites I've bookmarked in the past are highlighted in my search results, it makes it easier to pick which search result to go to. My question is around bookmarking tools: Is there a bookmarklet or Firefox addon that will let me save a bookmark to multiple services at the same time, in this case, Google and Delicious? Or maybe a service to sync my delicious bookmarks to Google bookmarks on a regular basis? I have used the Delicious addon since the beginning - it would just be nice to add a bookmark to multiple services with 1 addon. For that matter, it would be nice to add Evernote into the mix - click 1 button to save the page to Evernote, and bookmark the page in Google and delicious. EDIT on 7/30/2009 - Summary: A proposed solution is to use the Delicious addon and the GMarks addon to keep the 2 services in sync. I was not able to get the 2 addons to keep everything in sync, so it was also suggest to use the Google Toolbar with the Delicious addon to keep everything in sync. I personally have reservations with letting Google know about every single site I visit, I believe this solution will work, so I am accepting it as the answer. I still wish there was a solution that would let you post a bookmark/page to multiple services at the same time (delicious, google, evernote, digg, diigo, etc.). Thanks!

  • Windows 7 Users unable to add Windows 2003 server printers

    Hi there I just rolled out a few Windows 7 x64 machines and ran into this issue where non-admin users are unable to add printers hosted on a windows 2003 server. It works fine on a 2008 server. The issue appears to be with the point and print system. A user will attempt to add the printer, a prompt will come up requiring the user to elevate privileges in order to install a driver, and will fail citing 'access denied'. I found the group policy setting Point and Print Restrictions: When the policy setting is disabled: -Windows Vista computers will not show a warning or an elevated command prompt when users create a printer connection to any server using Point and Print. So I disabled it, verified that the policy was being picked up using rsop, but it still does the same thing. I've also tried the following: Recreating the printers using newer drivers Adding the printer using 32 bit drivers on the 2003 machine, then adding the 64 bit drivers on a Windows 7 machine Adding the printer from a windows 7 machine using print management None of these things work. The security settings are no different than the working printers. Help?

  • Programmatically add/delete users in Exchange

    I've got the following set up: ASP.Net site that allows my internal employees to add in new hire information (no secure data, just stuff like name/address/phone) and when they submit this it goes into a database (SQL). Every few minutes a service runs that checks the database and if there are new entries it will add them into Exchange. The issue is I'm not happy with the way the service is doing things, (It's not putting address, etc in it). As I don't have the source code this I'm thinking of recreating it. My issue though is finding a starting point even. I know I'll have to create the scripts through code where the data is retrieved from SQL : Joe Smith 123 Main Street Nowhere, USA 19999 And put that into a powershell cmdlet (not sure exactly the syntax but I can get that figured out unless someone already has it) where the user is created in the Active Directory as a normal user and the mailbox is created simultaneously. From there I just need to fill out fields in Active Directory with the person's address, etc. Finally a deletion routine for when we terminate someone, however I'm sure that it will simply be a cmdlet that is easily shelled out to much like the initial one is, once I can figure out how to start that... Anyone have some good reference points or have already done it and can share?

    I just set up an new DirectAdmin, and I want to prepare it for IPv6 use. My ISP have gave me an range of IPv6 addresses that I can use. Lets say that address is 2a01:7c8:**:1f::. My neworkadapter user DHCP to resolves its IP-addresses. I get the error: connect: Network is unreachable. I decided that I needed an gateway, so I tryed to add one: ip -6 route add default via 2a01:7c8:****::1 dev eth0 (2a01:7c8:**::1 is the gateway of my ISP). But it trows an error: RTNETLINK answers: No route to host. Does somebody know what to do, and how to solve this issue? Thanks a lot!

  • Secretary cannot add appointments to boss's calendar after exchange restore from backup

    The calendar is the Boss's calendar on Exchange. I have set permissions for it through his Outlook to give the secretary and a few other people "Editor" access to his calendar. All the editors can view the calendar, but only he can add new appointments. Anyone else who tries to add an appointment gets "The item cannot be saved in this folder. The folder was deleted or moved or you do not have permission." The permissions are correct, editor. The item hasn't been deleted or moved. It's in his mailbox on exchange. The message says something about the mailbox size, but he is well under the size limit anyway. He is using Outlook 2003, and I have tried accessing it from 2003 and 2007, but I don't think that is related I tried clearing the forms cache and enabling disabled items: no disabled items and clearing cache didn't help. I also tried "Allow all forms" but this apparently doesn't apply in this scenario as we are not using any custom forms. Is there any way to delete just his calendar and then I can exmerge it back in (after exporting to PST of course)? I really can't exmerge out his mailbox, delete it, and exmerge it back in because he works all sorts of hours, but if this is the only way, then I'll have to do it. Is there any other possible solution?

    In Textmate, I am able to add text to several lines at once by clicking and holding the Option key and dragging with the mouse. say I have the following lines: foo 1: foo 2: foo 3: I can easily click and hold option and then drag down with the lines to select the text at the end of each line, and then type "bar" once and it will be added to all lines, as such: foo 1: bar foo 2: bar foo 3: bar Fantastic. The problem I run into, is when my lines aren't the same length, as such foo 19: foo 37842342346: foo 503: Now if I want to add text to the end of each line, I have to either do it manually, or choose enough space so that the longest line is not overwritten, as such: foo 19: bar foo 37842342346: bar foo 503: bar This results in a lot of unwanted whitespace in lines that don't need it. Granted, I could easily run a regular expression search to replace all multiple occurrences of a space with a single one, but I was wondering if there's a way to select all ending of lines at once without having to do that. Any idea? Thanks!

  • Add files/folders/Apps to a new User Account

    I have created a new user acct. for my roommate. I/we don't really care much for IE, and I'd like to add Google Chrome, and FF for her, to let her choose her own browser. Plus I'd like to add some other apps for her, and transfer some of her personal info that she's been storing on my administrative acct. (i.e. personal photos and such). So, like I said the account is set up. But when I go to use Chrome, it won't open. It, along with other apps are listed in the list of "approved" applications under the parental control list. (Application Restrictions List) But they either don't show up when searched for,( in her acct.) or won't open and operate. One other example is Faststone Capture. And then, I've got one application, Yahoo, "Unchecked", and yet there it is in her account, AND IT WORKS! I do not get it. The purpose to setting up an account for her was to only restrict that she couldn't delete, or uninstall anything on the computer. I don't care, (obviously within reason) what she installs, but NO TAKING AWAY! lol Here is a screen shot of the restrictions list: So, here I sit, wondering what I did wrong, or forgot to do in order for these to work. I don't care if Yahoo works or not. But her photos being transferred, Chrome/FF working, and Faststone Capture working, are a priority for me. If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate any advice. Thanks! OH Edit: Also, my account is an Administrative one. The account I am creating for her is just a Standard User Acct.

  • SQL Server 2008 R2 Error 15401 when trying to add a domain user

    I am trying to add a domain user. I am doing the following. Expand Security Right click on Logins Select New Login... Login name select search Click on location and select entire directory Type username Click checkname The name goes underlined and add some more info Click OK Click OK I then get the following error: I have found http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324321. The Login does exist There is no Duplicate security identifiers Authentication failure I don't think is happening as I can browse AD Case sensitivity should not be the problem as I am doing the checkname and it is correcting it. Not a Local account Name resolution again I can see the AD I have rebooted the server (VM) and the issue is still happening. Any ideas?     when selecting a packet and choosing to follow the stream, wireshark automatically sets a filter that looks something like this: (ip.addr eq 10.2.3.8 and ip.addr eq 10.2.255.255) and (udp.port eq 999 and udp.port eq 899). i'd like to be able to set that myself when following the stream, but have not been able to identify where to do that. setting the display filter has no effect. in fact, after following the stream, whatever display filter is currently set will be replaced by the follow stream formatted filter. is customizing the follow stream filter even possible? thanks

  • Using empty row as default in a ComboBox with Style "DropDownList"?

    Hi board I am trying to write a method, that takes a ComboBox, a DataTable and a TextBox as arguments. The purpose of it is to filter the members displayed in the ComboBox according to the TextBox.Text. The DataTable contains the entire list of possible entries that will then be filtered. For filtering, I create a DataView of the DataTable, add a RowFilter and then bind this View to the ComboBox as DataSource. To prevent the user from typing into the ComboBox, I choose the DropDownStyle DropDownList. That’s working fine so far, except that the user should also be able to choose nothing / empty line. In fact, this should be the default member to be displayed (to prevent choosing a wrong member by accident, if the user clicks through the dialog too fast). I tried to solve this problem by adding a new Row to the view. While this works for some cases, the main issue here is that any DataTable can be passed to the method. If the DataTable contains columns that cannot be null and don’t contain a default value, I suppose I will raise an error by adding an empty row. A possibility would be to create a view that contains only the column that is defined as DisplayMember, and the one that is defined as ValueMember. Alas, this can’t be done with a view in C#. I would like to avoid creating a true copy of the DataTable at all cost, since who knows how big it will get with time. Do you have any suggestions how to get around this problem? Instead of a view, could I create an object containing two members and assign the DisplayMember and the ValueMember to these members? Would the members be passed as reference (what I hope) or would true copied be created (in which case it would not be a solution)? Thank you very much for your help!     Hi, I am quite inexperienced with DNS, so this might be simple. Our main domain foo.com is hosted at provider A. Now, we would like to host bar.foo.com at some other provider B - they have the domain set up with them, so I figure that I can do this by somehow adding the nameserver at provider B to the DNS configuration at provider A.
