  • Partial view postback from a standard Html form with MVC

    I have a file upload button on my MVC view. After the file is uploaded, my FileList partial view on the page should refresh. I tried to upload with Ajax.BeginForm(), but have discovered that Ajax will not submit file data. I've got the file upload working now by using the jQuery Form plugin, which lets you ajaxify the normal Html.BeginForm() submit method. Is is still possible to trigger the partial page update using this method?

Does anyone know of a good plug-in that will allow this or if easySlider allows this? I read the documentation and it didn't look like it had this option.

    Hi! I have a login page with an input of type "password" I would like to have a virtual keyboard to enter the password. I've searched and I found the jquery script for virtual keyboard.   • jQuery tablesorter sorting not working

    I'm using jQuery tablesorter plugin to generate dynamically a table from a csv file, and that part is working fine. However whenever i try to sort the table by clicking on the table headers, firebug reports this problem in the console: parsers is undefined return parsers[i].type;\n Initially i though this problem was being caused by the table not being ready after the document loads, so i fixed that by manually calling tablesorter() after my table was rendered from the csv file. this didn't fix the issue though. Also, at the very end of the table, the table is drawn garbled with some gray areas at the end. I suppose this is related to the error above.   • jQuery - Slideshow with different sized images and text

    I need some sort of slideshow, with text (something like moving boxes would be nice). I have tried several, but i'm always having problems with different sized images (the images can be for eg. 500px x 300px, but the next one can be 500px, 300px), this gives some problems with the pictures ... I hope you understand what i mean. It's very irritating to find a good jquery plugin that can deal with this problem... :( Can anyone find me a good working one or an alternative to jQuery?

    I'm utilizing the jQuery Validation plugin for my form. It lets you change the errorElement and wrap the errorElement using with the wrapper option. But, I want to insert an element within errorElement like this: <label class="error"><em></em>Error message goes here</label> Is there an easy way to accomplish inserting the em tag? I've tried prepending the em tag using the errorPlacement option (see below), but it seems the plugin is replacing the contents of errorElement afterwards. $.validator.setDefaults({ errorPlacement: function(error, element) { error.prepend('<em/>'); error.insertBefore(element); } }); I've also tried prepending the em tag using the showErrors option (see below).     Hi I am trying to delete a row using the DataTables plugin. First I don't get the example at all. What I have this is a user checks the row they want to delete. I do this then var row = $('#id :checked').parents('tr'); So I get the row of the checked checkbox. Lets assume they only check one box( if multiple where choose it might be different - might need a jquery each loop). I then try to do this var position = GlobalVariable.fnGetPosition(row); GlobalVariable.fnDeleteRow(position); position is always null and So I have no clue how to do this. http://datatables.net/api

    Inside of a jQuery plugin I made I have: $.getJSON(base_url,{ agenda_id:defaults.id, action:defaults.action+defaults.type, output:defaults.output },function(json){ return json; }); And in a separate JS file (yes, it comes after the plugin): json = $('#agenda-live-preview').agenda({action:'get',type:'agenda',output:'json'}); alert(json[0].agenda_id); If i do the above $.getJSON and put an alert inside of the $.getJSON it works and returns "3", which is correct. If I do it like the json=$('#agenda-live-preview').agenda(...)... it returns undefined. My JSON is valid, and the json[0].agenda_id is correct also, I know it's in a callback, so how do I get the stuff inside of a callback in a function return?

    Hi everybody. I have an extensible product that allows 3rd party developers to extend it. The aspects that can be extended are documented and interfaces are provided in the SDK. Currently, I'm using COM and I'm getting pretty comfortable with it. I especially like the ability to provide interface versioning in a unified manner. I consider it to be a requirement because you never know what you're gonna need in the future. Just to be precise, here's an example. Let's suppose I have an interface representing a particular feature: class IFeature { public: virtual void DoFeatureTask() = 0; }; Then after the interface is already documented (and someone may have used it in the plugin code) I'm realizing, I need more from this feature. Maybe, there is an option I need to provide. I just define the second version: class IFeature2 { public: virtual void DoFeatureTask(int theOption) = 0; }; I don't mean I intend to have lots of versions. But it just may happen. In COM, because every interface is associated with a GUID, I can query a preferred implementation, determine its presence, and, finally, fall back to a legacy one. But after glancing through C++/COM-related questions, I noticed many recommendations against COM. So maybe it's not the best choice and I'm just too old-school. Can you advise on an alternative?

Considering that resources are already defined in routes.rb I was expecting it to work easily, bute somehow when I click the save button it calls the create method, instead of update, using a POST http request. Any ideas?

  • Can I find and import files into an Ant buildfile at run time?

    I want to create an Ant buildfile, that includes some files as a sort of plugin. So if I want to activate a feature in a project - say pmd-checking - I copy a pmd.xml in a directory and the build.xml get on the start the idea, that pmd.xml exists and imports it, so that new targets can be available to the build. But the 'import' task can only be used as a top-level task, so I have no idea how to relize this functionality. Is this possible with Ant and if so, how can I do it? EDIT: I would prefer a solution, that allows new targets to show up in the listing presented by ant -p.

  • Hide jQuery Accordion while loading

    I am testing a site build with a slow connection and I noticed the jQuery Accordion stays expanded for a long time, until the rest of the site is loaded, and then finally collapses. Not very pretty. I was wondering how I could keep it collapsed through the loading process and only expand when clicked. I am working with the standalone 1.6 version of the accordion plugin. So far it's working fine, but I'm having doubt about the way I'm doing things: jQuery.fn.myMethod = function() { return this.each(function(){ MyScope.doSomething(jQuery(this).attr("id")); }); }; var MyScope = { doSomething: function(id){ // something doSomethingElse(23); // some more code doSomethingElse(55); }, doSomethingElse: function(someInt){ // some code } }; I use MyScope to store all my "private" functions. I don't want the user to be able to go $("p").doSomething(), but I do need to use them. I could move everything in the myMethod function, but it would create a 100 lines long function and people would hate me for it. What's the best practices in this situation? Are there any great tutorials out there regarding this?
