  • How was programming done 20 years ago?

    - by Click Upvote
    Nowadays we have a lot of programming aids that make it easier to work, including: IDEs Debuggers (line by line, breakpoints, etc) Ant scripts, etc for compiling Sites like Stackoverflow to help if you're too stuck on a bug. 20 years ago none of these things were around, which tools did people use to program and how did they make do without these tools? I'm interested in learning more about how programming was done back then.

  • Startup in Windows 7

    - by iira
    Hi, I am trying to add my program run in Windows 7 startup, but it does'nt works. My program has embedded uac manifest. My current way is by adding String Value at HKCU..\Run I found a manual solution for Vista from http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/w7itprosecurity/thread/81c3c1f2-0169-493a-8f87-d300ea708ecf 1. Click Start, right click on Computer and choose “Manage”. 2. Click “Task Scheduler” on the left panel. 3. Click “Create Task” on the right panel. 4. Type a name for the task. 5. Check “Run with highest privileges”. 6. Click Actions tab. 7. Click “New…”. 8. Browse to the program in the “Program/script” box. Click OK. 9. On desktop, right click, choose New and click “Shortcut”. 10. In the box type: schtasks.exe /run /tn TaskName where TaskName is the name of task you put in on the basics tab and click next. 11. Type a name for the shortcut and click Finish. Additionally, you need to run the saved scheduled task shortcut to run the program instead of running the application shortcut to ignore the IAC prompt. When startup the system will run the program via the original shortcut. Therefore you need to change the location to run the saved task. Please: 1. Open Regedit. 2. Find the entry of the startup item in Registry. It will be stored in one of the following branches. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run 3. Double-click on the correct key, change the path to the saved scheduled task you created. Is there any free code to add item with privileges option in scheduled task? I havent found the free one in torry.net Thanks a lot.

  • What is wrong with the JavaScript event handling in this example? (Using click() and hover() jQuery

    - by Bungle
    I'm working on a sort of proof-of-concept for a project that approximates Firebug's inspector tool. For more details, please see this related question. Here is the example page. I've only tested it in Firefox: http://troy.onespot.com/static/highlight.html The idea is that, when you're mousing over any element that can contain text, it should "highlight" with a light gray background to indicate the boundaries of that element. When you then click on the element, it should alert() a CSS selector that matches it. This is somewhat working in the example linked above. However, there's one fundamental problem. When mousing over from the top of the page to the bottom, it will pick up the paragraphs, <h1> element, etc. But, it doesn't get the <div>s that encompass those paragraphs. However, for example, if you "sneak up" on the <div> that contains the two paragraphs "The area was settled..." and "Austin was selected..." from the left - tracing down the left edge of the page and entering the <div> just between the two paragraphs (see this screenshot) - then it is picked up. I assume this has something to do with the fact that I haven't attached an event handler to the <body> element (where you're entering the <div> from if you enter from the left), but I have attached handlers to the <p>s (where you're entering from if you come from the top or bottom). There are also other issues with mousing in and out elements - background colors that "stick" and the like - that I think are also related. As indicated in the related question posted above, I suspect there is something about event bubbling that I don't understand that is causing unexpected behavior. Can anyone spot what's wrong with my code? Thanks in advance for any help!

  • Ajax problem after deleting a div, then creating a new one

    - by Matt Nathanson
    I'm building a custom CMS where you can add and delete clients using ajax and jquery 1.4.2. My problem lies after I delete a div. The ajax is used to complete this and refresh automatically.. But when I go to create a new div (without a hard refresh) it puts it back in the slot of the div I just deleted. How can I get this to completely forget about the div i just deleted and place the new div in the next database table? link for reference: http://staging.sneakattackmedia.com/cms/ //Add New client // function AddNewClient() { dataToLoad = 'addClient=yes'; $.ajax({ type: 'post', url: '/clients/controller.php', datatype: 'html', data: dataToLoad, target: ('#clientssidebar'), async: false, success: function(html){ $(this).click(function() {reInitialize()}); //$('#clientssidebar').html(html); $('div#' + clientID).slideDown(800); $(this).click(function() { ExpandSidebar()});}, error: function() { alert('An error occured! 222');} });}; //Delete Client // function DeleteClient(){ var yes = confirm("Whoa there chief! Do you really want to DELETE this client?"); if (yes == 1) { dataToLoad = 'clientID=' + clientID + '&deleteClient=yes', $.ajax({ type: 'post', url: '/clients/controller.php', datatype: 'html', data: dataToLoad, success: function(html) { alert('Client' + clientID + ' should have been deleted from the database.'); $(this).click(function() {reInitialize()}); $('div#' +clientID).slideUp(800); }, error: function() { alert('error'); }});};}; //Re Initialize // function reInitialize() { $('#addnew').click(function() {AddNewClient()}); $('.deletebutton').click(function() {clientID = $(this).parent().attr('id'); DeleteClient()}) $('.clientblock').click(function() {clientID = $(this).attr('id'); ExpandSidebar()});}; //Document Ready // $(document).ready(function(){ if ($('isCMS')){ editCMS = 1; $('.deletebutton').click(function() {clientID = $(this).parent().attr('id'); DeleteClient()}); $('#addnew').click(function() {AddNewClient()}); $('.clientblock').click(function() {clientID = $(this).attr('id'); ExpandSidebar()}); $('.clientblock').click(function() {if (clickClient ==true) { $(this).css('background-image', 'url(/images/highlightclient.png)'); $(this).css('margin-left' , '30px'); }; $(this).click(function(){ $(this).css('background-image', ''); }); $('.uploadbutton').click(function(){UploadThings()}); }); } else ($('#clientscontainer')) { $('#editbutton').css('display', 'none'); }; }); Please help!!!

XAML: <Window x:Class="TestClick828374.Window1" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="Window1" Height="300" Width="300"> <StackPanel Margin="10"> <ContentControl Content="{Binding TheImage}" MouseDown="ContentControl_MouseDown"/> </StackPanel> </Window> Code-Behind: using System; using System.Windows; using System.Windows.Controls; using System.Windows.Media; using System.Windows.Media.Imaging; using System.ComponentModel; namespace TestClick828374 { public partial class Window1 : Window, INotifyPropertyChanged { #region ViewModelProperty: TheImage private Image _theImage; public Image TheImage { get { return _theImage; } set { _theImage = value; OnPropertyChanged("TheImage"); } } #endregion public Window1() { InitializeComponent(); DataContext = this; TheImage = new Image(); TheImage.Source = new BitmapImage(new Uri(@"c:\test\rectangle.png")); TheImage.Stretch = Stretch.None; TheImage.HorizontalAlignment = HorizontalAlignment.Left; } #region INotifiedProperty Block public event PropertyChangedEventHandler PropertyChanged; protected void OnPropertyChanged(string propertyName) { PropertyChangedEventHandler handler = PropertyChanged; if (handler != null) { handler(this, new PropertyChangedEventArgs(propertyName)); } } #endregion private void ContentControl_MouseDown(object sender, System.Windows.Input.MouseButtonEventArgs e) { //how to get the coordinates of the mouse click here on the image? } } }

  • The tale of how the PowerShell CmdLets got installed with Azure SDK 1.4

    - by Enrique Lima
    I installed the Azure SDK 1.4 while rebuilding my laptop and ran the installation for the Windows Azure Service Management PowerShell CmdLets. Kicked off the installation script for the WASM PowerShell CmdLets by locating the path to which WASM PowerShell CmdLets was deployed to. Double clicked the startHere command. It will then open the WASM installation dialog. Click Next. Click Next. Notice the red x next to the Azure SDK 1.3, the problem is I have SDK 1.4 Here is the workaround, I go back to the location of the deployed WASM sources. Go into the setup path, then scripts>dependencies>check. Now, locate the CheckAzureSDK.ps1 file, and right-click, then edit. This is the content in the ps1 file, it check for the specific version of the Azure SDK, in this case, it is looking for version 1.3.11133.0038. We need for it to check for version 1.4.20227.1419 Now, save your ps1 file, go back to the open WASM install dialog, and click rescan. This time it should pass, then click next. A Command prompt window will appear, click any key. This completes the installation, click Close.

  • RavenDB - Can I create/query an index, from an application that doesn't share the CLR objects that were persisted?

    - by Jaz Lalli
    This post goes some way to answering this question (I'll include the answer later), but I was hoping for some further details. We have a number of applications that each need to access/manipulate data from Raven in their own way. Data is only written via the main web application. Other apps include batch-style tasks, reporting etc. In an attempt to keep each of these as de-coupled as possible, they are separate solutions. That being the case, how can I, from the reporting application, create indexes over the existing data, using my locally defined types? The answer from the linked question states As long as the structure of the classes you are deserializing into partially matches the structure of the data, it shouldn't make a difference. The RavenDB server doesn't care at all what classes you use in the client. You certainly could share a dll, or even share a portable dll if you are targeting a different platform. But you are correct that it is not necessary. However, you should be aware of the Raven-Clr-Type metadata value. The RavenDB client sets this when storing the original document. It is consumed back by the client to assist with deserialization, but it is not fully enforced It's the first part of that that I wanted clarification on. Do the object graphs for the docs on the server and types in my application have to match exactly? If the Click document on the server is { "Visit": { "Version": "0", "Domain": "www.mydomain.com", "Page": "/index", "QueryString": "", "IPAddress": "127.0.0.1", "Guid": "10cb6886-cb5c-46f8-94ed-4b0d45a5e9ca", "MetaData": { "Version": "1", "CreatedDate": "2012-11-09T15:11:03.5669038Z", "UpdatedDate": "2012-11-09T15:11:03.5669038Z", "DeletedDate": null } }, "ResultId": "Results/1", "ProductCode": "280", "MetaData": { "Version": "1", "CreatedDate": "2012-11-09T15:14:26.1332596Z", "UpdatedDate": "2012-11-09T15:14:26.1332596Z", "DeletedDate": null } } Is it possible (and if so, how?), to create a Map index from my application, which defines the Click class as follows? class Click { public Guid Guid {get;set;} public int ProductCode {get;set;} public DateTime CreatedDate {get;set;} } Or would my class have to be look like this? (where the custom types are defined as a sub-set of the properties on the document above, with matching property names) class Click { public Visit Visit {get;set;} public int ProductCode {get;set;} public MetaData MetaData {get;set;} } UPDATE Following on from the answer below, here's the code I managed to get working. Index public class Clicks_ByVisitGuidAndProductCode : AbstractIndexCreationTask { public override IndexDefinition CreateIndexDefinition() { return new IndexDefinition { Map = "from click in docs.Clicks select new {Guid = click.Visit.Guid, ProductCode = click.ProductCode, CreatedDate = click.MetaData.CreatedDate}", TransformResults = "results.Select(click => new {Guid = click.Visit.Guid, ProductCode = click.ProductCode, CreatedDate = click.MetaData.CreatedDate})" }; } } Query var query = _documentSession.Query<ReportClick, Clicks_ByVisitGuidAndProductCode>() .Customize(x => x.WaitForNonStaleResultsAsOfNow()) .Where(x => x.CreatedDate >= start.Date && x.CreatedDate < end.Date); where Click is public class Click { public Guid Guid { get; set; } public int ProductCode { get; set; } public DateTime CreatedDate { get; set; } } Many thanks @MattJohnson.

  • Touchpad not working on HP

    - by Grayson
    Everything worked fine in Ubuntu 10.04, flawless in fact, I admired the way the Operating System had handled such a unique touchpad so well. I have an HP Pavilion dv6. The touchpad and left, middle, and right click buttons are all on the trackpad, and it the bottom end depresses to click accordingly for each kind of click. In 10.04, everything worked fine, upon upgrading to Ubuntu 10.10 things became... odd. The scroll on the side would work, as would the left click. The right click wouldn't work however, but if you would lightly tap the exact right corner of the touchpad, the right click menu would come up, though it was inconsistent and difficult to make it do so. I have applied a fix I found on the older Ubuntu Forums for a similar issue, and it restored the normal left and right click, but it isn't as fluid, and there isn't the vertical scroll feature, which I do rather like to have... I would just like things to be as it was, if this is possible, please, please tell me how to do so. Thank you.

To access it I have to: click wrench click tools click extensions on world clock, click "options" click save" and then I can use it. What am I missing here, there must be an easier way. Is there a way to just click something and have all my extensions in a dropdown, i.e. in one click? I couldn't find this on a list of chrome hotkeys.

  • How can i change background image of a button when hover or click in XAML for Windows 8?

    - by apero
    I got a question about changing the background image of a button when it's clicked. I tried searching on google but i couldn't find something that worked for me. Well here's my code <Button Grid.Column="0" Grid.Row="0" x:Name="btnHome" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" BorderBrush="{x:Null}" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" Click="btnHome_Click" PointerEntered="btnHome_PointerEntered"> <Button.Template> <ControlTemplate TargetType="Button"> <Border x:Name="RootElement"> <VisualStateManager.VisualStateGroups> <VisualStateGroup x:Name="CommonStates"> <VisualState x:Name="MouseOver"> <Storyboard> //I want my background change here </Storyboard> </VisualState> <VisualState x:Name="Pressed"> <Storyboard> //And here </Storyboard> </VisualState> </VisualStateGroup> </VisualStateManager.VisualStateGroups> <Border.Background> <ImageBrush ImageSource="images/back_button.png"/> </Border.Background> </Border> </ControlTemplate> </Button.Template> </Button> i also tried this private void btnHome_PointerEntered(object sender, PointerRoutedEventArgs e) { BitmapImage bmp = new BitmapImage(); Uri u = new Uri("ms-appx:images/back_button_mouseover.png", UriKind.RelativeOrAbsolute); bmp.UriSource = u; ImageBrush i = new ImageBrush(); i.ImageSource = bmp; btnHome.Background = i; } But unfortunately this worked neither

  • Formatting the output of a custom tool so I can double click an error in Visual Studio and the file opens

    - by Ben Scott
    I've written a command line tool that preprocesses a number of files then compiles them using CodeDom. The tool writes a copyright notice and some progress text to the standard output, then writes any errors from the compilation step using the following format: foreach (var err in results.Errors) { // err is CompilerError var filename = "Path\To\input_file.xprt"; Console.WriteLine(string.Format( "{0} ({1},{2}): {3}{4} ({5})", filename, err.Line, err.Column, err.IsWarning ? "" : "ERROR: ", err.ErrorText, err.ErrorNumber)); } It then writes the number of errors, like "14 errors". This is an example of how the error appears in the console: Path\To\input_file.xrpt (73,28): ERROR: An object reference is required for the non-static field, method, or property 'Some.Object.get' (CS0120) When I run this as a custom tool in VS2008 (by calling it in the post-build event command line of one of my project's assemblies), the errors appear nicely formatted in the Error List, with the correct text in each column. When I roll over the filename the fully qualified path pops up. The line and column are different to the source file because of the preprocessing which is fine. The only thing that stands out is that the Project given in the list is the one that has the post-build event. The problem is that when I double click an error, nothing happens. I would have expected the file to open in the editor. I'm vaugely aware of the Microsoft.VisualStudio.Shell.Interop namespace but I think it should be possible just by writing to the standard output.

  • WindowsFormsApplicationBase SplashScreen makes login form ignore keypresses until I click on it - how to debug?

    - by Tom Bushell
    My WinForms app has a simple modal login form, invoked at startup via ShowDialog(). When I run from inside Visual Studio, everything works fine. I can just type in my User ID, hit the Enter key, and get logged in. But when I run a release build directly, everything looks normal (the login form is active, there's a blinking cursor in the User ID MaskedEditBox), but all keypresses are ignored until I click somewhere on the login form. Very annoying if you are used to doing everything from the keyboard. I've tried to trace through the event handlers, and to set the focus directly with code, to no avail. Any suggestions how to debug this (outside of Visual Studio), or failing that - a possible workaround? Edit Here's the calling code, in my Main Form: private void OfeMainForm_Shown(object sender, EventArgs e) { OperatorLogon(); } private void OperatorLogon() { // Modal dialogs should be in a "using" block for proper disposal using (var logonForm = new C21CfrLogOnForm()) { var dr = logonForm.ShowDialog(this); if (dr == DialogResult.OK) SaveOperatorId(logonForm.OperatorId); else Application.Exit(); } } Edit 2 Didn't think this was relevant, but I'm using Microsoft.VisualBasic.ApplicationServices.WindowsFormsApplicationBase for it's splash screen and SingleInstanceController support. I just commented out the splash screen code, and the problem has disappeared. So that's opened up a whole new line of inquiry... Edit 3 Changed title to reflect better understanding of the problem

  • R programming function without ()

    So, I Have the following very simple map.r file. I'm trying to have the user type "click" in interactive mode and then have the function . Since it's a function, the user has to type "click()" how can I make it so that they only have to the word (w/o parentheses), and then have that function do something with the img. So the user types: mydist("image.pnm") click //And then the function click does what it's supposed to mydist <- function(mapfile) { img <- read.pnm(mapfile) plot(img) } click <- function() { //Prompt user to click on img }

  • Create Chemistry Equations and Diagrams in Word

    - by Matthew Guay
    Microsoft Word is a great tool for formatting text, but what if you want to insert a chemistry formula or diagram?  Thanks to a new free add-in for Word, you can now insert high-quality chemistry formulas and diagrams directly from the Ribbon in Word. Microsoft’s new Education Labs has recently released the new Chemistry Add-in for Word 2007 and 2010.  This free download adds support for entering and editing chemistry symbols, diagrams, and formulas using the standard XML based Chemical Markup Language.  You can convert any chemical name, such as benzene, or formula, such as H2O, into a chemical diagram, standard name, or formula.  Whether you’re a professional chemist, just taking chemistry in school, or simply curious about the makeup of Citric Acid, this add-in is an exciting way to bring chemistry to your computer. This add-in works great on Word 2007 and 2010, including the 64 bit version of Word 2010.  Please note that the current version is still in beta, so only run it if you are comfortable running beta products. Getting Started Download the Chemistry add-in from Microsoft Education Labs (link below), and unzip the file.  Then, run the ChemistryAddinforWordBeta2.Setup.msi. It may inform you that you need to install the Visual Studio Tools for Office 3.0.  Simply click Yes to download these tools. This will open the download in your default browser.  Simply click run, or save and then run it when it is downloaded. Now, click next to install the Visual Studio Tools for Office as usual. When this is finished, run the ChemistryAddinforWordBeta2.Setup.msi again.  This time, you can easily install it with the default options. Once it’s finished installing, open Word to try out the Chemistry Add-in.  You will be asked if you want to install this customization, so click Install to enable it. Now you will have a new Chemistry tab in your Word ribbon.  Here’s the ribbon in Word 2010… And here it is in Word 2007.   Using the Chemistry Add-in It’s very easy to insert nice chemistry diagrams and formulas in Word with the Chemistry add-in.  You can quickly insert a premade diagram from the Chemistry Gallery: Or you can insert a formula from file.  Simply click “From File” and choose any Chemical Markup Language (.cml) formatted file to insert the chemical formula. You can also convert any chemical name to it’s chemical form.  Simply select the word, right-click, select “Convert to Chemistry Zone” and then click on its name. Now you can see the chemical form in the sidebar if you click the Chemistry Navigator button, and can choose to insert the diagram into the document.  Some chemicals will automatically convert to the diagram in the document, while others simply link to it in the sidebar.  Either way, you can display exactly what you want. You can also convert a chemical formula directly to it’s chemical diagram.  Here we entered H2O and converted it to Chemistry Zone: This directly converted it to the diagram directly in the document. You can click the Edit button on the top, and from there choose to either edit the 2D model of the chemical, or edit the labels. When you click Edit Labels, you may be asked which form you wish to display.  Here’s the options for potassium permanganate: You can then edit the names and formulas, and add or remove any you wish. If you choose to edit the chemical in 2D, you can even edit the individual atoms and change the chemical you’re diagramming.  This 2D editor has a lot of options, so you can get your chemical diagram to look just like you want. And, if you need any help or want to learn more about the Chemistry add-in and its features, simply click the help button in the Chemistry Ribbon.  This will open a Word document containing examples and explanations which can be helpful in mastering all the features of this add-in. All of this works perfectly, whether you’re running it in Word 2007 or 2010, 32 or 64 bit editions. Conclusion Whether you’re using chemistry formulas everyday or simply want to investigate a chemical makeup occasionally, this is a great way to do it with tools you already have on your computer.  It will also help make homework a bit easier if you’re struggling with it in high school or college. I will be primary using the Eclipse Language IDE. I will not bore you with the history just what is needed for a .NET developer to get up and running. I will provide links, screenshots and a few brief code tutorials. Links to documentation. The Official Eclipse FAQ’s Links to binaries. Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers the Galileo Package (based on Eclipse 3.5 SR2)  Sun Developer Network – Java Eclipse officially recommends Java version 5 (also known as 1.5), although many Eclipse users use the newer version 6 (1.6). That's it, nothing more is required except to compile and run java. Installation Unzip the Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers and double click the file named Eclipse.exe. You will probably want to create a link for it on your desktop. Once, it’s installed and launched you will have to select a workspace. Just accept the defaults and you will see the following: Lets go ahead and write a simple program. To write a "Hello World" program follow these steps: Start Eclipse. Create a new Java Project: File->New->Project. Select "Java" in the category list. Select "Java Project" in the project list. Click "Next". Enter a project name into the Project name field, for example, "HW Project". Click "Finish" Allow it to open the Java perspective Create a new Java class: Click the "Create a Java Class" button in the toolbar. (This is the icon below "Run" and "Window" with a tooltip that says "New Java Class.") Enter "HW" into the Name field. Click the checkbox indicating that you would like Eclipse to create a "public static void main(String[] args)" method. Click "Finish". A Java editor for HW.java will open. In the main method enter the following line.      System.out.println("This is my first java program and btw Hello World"); Save using ctrl-s. This automatically compiles HW.java. Click the "Run" button in the toolbar (looks like a VCR play button). You will be prompted to create a Launch configuration. Select "Java Application" and click "New". Click "Run" to run the Hello World program. The console will open and display "This is my first java program and btw Hello World". You now have your first java program, lets go ahead and make an applet. Since you already have the HW.java open, click inside the window and remove all code. Now copy/paste the following code snippet. Java Code Snippet for an applet. 1: import java.applet.Applet; 2: import java.awt.Graphics; 3: import java.awt.Color; 4:  5: @SuppressWarnings("serial") 6: public class HelloWorld extends Applet{ 7:  8: String text = "I'm a simple applet"; 9:  10: public void init() { 11: text = "I'm a simple applet"; 12: setBackground(Color.GREEN); 13: } 14:  15: public void start() { 16: System.out.println("starting..."); 17: } 18:  19: public void stop() { 20: System.out.println("stopping..."); 21: } 22:  23: public void destroy() { 24: System.out.println("preparing to unload..."); 25: } 26:  27: public void paint(Graphics g){ 28: System.out.println("Paint"); 29: g.setColor(Color.blue); 30: g.drawRect(0, 0, 31: getSize().width -1, 32: getSize().height -1); 33: g.setColor(Color.black); 34: g.drawString(text, 15, 25); 35: } 36: } The Eclipse IDE should look like Click "Run" to run the Hello World applet. Now, lets test our new java applet. So, navigate over to your workspace for example: “C:\Users\mbcrump\workspace\HW Project\bin” and you should see 2 files. HW.class java.policy.applet Create a HTML page with the following code: 1: <HTML> 2: <BODY> 3: <APPLET CODE=HW.class WIDTH=200 HEIGHT=100> 4: </APPLET> 5: </BODY> 6: </HTML> Open, the HTML page in Firefox or IE and you will see your applet running.  I hope this brief look at the Eclipse IDE helps someone get acquainted with Java Development. Even if your full time gig is with .NET, it will not hurt to have another language in your tool belt. As always, I welcome any suggestions or comments.

  • How to prevent google chrome from caching my inputs, esp hidden ones when user click back?

    - by melaos
    hi there, i have an asp.net mvc app which have quite a few hidden inputs to keep values around and formatting their names so that i can use the Model binding later when i submit the form. i stumble into a weird bug with chrome which i don't have with IE or Firefox when the user submits the form and click on the back button, i find that chrome will keep my hidden input values as well. this whole chunk is generated via javascript hence i believe chrome is caching this. function addProductRow(productId, productName) { if (productName != "") { //use guid to ensure that the row never repeats var guid = $.Guid.New(); var temp = parseFloat($(".tboProductCount").val()); //need the span to workaround for chrome var szHTML = "<tr valign=\"top\" id=\"productRow\"><td class=\"productIdCol\"><input type=\"hidden\" id=productRegsID" + temp + "\" name=\"productRegs[" + temp + "].productId\" value=\"" + productId + "\"/>" + "<span id=\"spanProdID" + temp + "\" name=\"spanProdID" + temp + "\" >" + productId + "</span>" + "</td>" //+ "<td><input type=\"text\" id=\"productRegName\" name=\"productRegs[" + temp + "].productName\" value=\"" + productName + "\" class=\"productRegName\" size=\"50\" readonly=\"readonly\"/></td>" + "<td><span id=\"productRegName\" name=\"productRegs[" + temp + "].productName\" class=\"productRegName\">"+ productName + "<\span></td>" + "<td id=\"" + guid + "\" class=\"productrowguid\" \>" + "<input type=\"text\" size=\"20\" id=\"productSerialNo" + temp + "\" name=\"productRegs[" + temp + "].serialNo\" value=\"" + "\" class=\"productSerialNo\" maxlength=\"18\" />" + "<a class=\"fancybox\" id=\"btnImgSerialNo" + temp + "\" href=\"#divSerialNo" + temp + "\"><img class=\"btnImgSerialNo\" src=\"Images/landing_14.gif\" /></a>" + "<span id=\"snFlag" + temp + "\" class=\"redWarning\"></span></td>" + "<td><input type=\"text\" id=\"productRegDate" + temp + "\" name=\"productRegs[" + temp + "].PurchaseDate\" readonly=\"readonly\" />" + "<span id=\"snRegDate" + temp + "\" class=\"redWarning\"></span></td>" + "<td align=\"center\"><img style=\"cursor:pointer\" id=\"btnImgDelete\" src=\"Images/btn_remove.gif\" onclick=\"javascript:removeProductRow('" + guid + "')\" /><div style=\"display:none;\"><div id=\"divSerialNo" + temp + "\" style=\"font-family:verdana;font-size:11px;width:600px\">" + serialnumbergeneral + "<br /><br />" + getSNImageByCategory(productId) + "</div></div></td>" + "</tr>"; $(".ProductRegistrationTable").append(szHTML); $("a.fancybox").fancybox(); //initialization $("#productRegDate" + temp).datepicker({ minDate: new Date(1996, 1 - 1, 1), maxDate: 0 }); //sanity check //s7test alert('1 '+$("#spanProdID" + temp)); alert('2 '+$("#productRegsID" + temp)); } //end function addNewProductRow i need the id to be refreshed when the user select a new product, but putting another span tag beside it shows that the span will have the new id will the hidden input will still have the previous id. is there an elegant way to workaround this issue? thanks

  • Please help with very simple android widget button click. Getting very frustrated. :(

    - by Little Wendy
    I have poured over every example that I can find and I have gone through the official documentation from google. All I am trying to do is create a toast notification from a button click on a widget. I can get the widget (and button) to appear but I can't get my intent to fire. I have seen several examples that show doing this different ways but I just can't get it to work. I haven't felt this helpless with coding in a long time and I'm starting to feel dumb. This is what I have so far: public class simpleclick extends AppWidgetProvider { /** Called when the activity is first created. */ @Override public void onUpdate(Context context, AppWidgetManager appWidgetManager, int[] appWidgetIds) { final int N = appWidgetIds.length; Toast.makeText(context, "doing on update", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); for (int i=0; i<N; i++) { int appWidgetId = appWidgetIds[i]; Intent intent = new Intent(context, simpleclick.class); intent.setAction("ham"); PendingIntent pendingIntent = PendingIntent.getActivity(context, 0, intent, 0); RemoteViews views = new RemoteViews(context.getPackageName(), R.layout.main); views.setOnClickPendingIntent(R.id.Timm, pendingIntent); appWidgetManager.updateAppWidget(appWidgetId, views); } } //@Override public void onReceive(Context context, Intent intent) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub Toast.makeText(context, "action is: " + intent.getAction(), Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); super.onReceive(context, intent); } } My manifest: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <manifest xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" package="com.tblabs.simpleclick" android:versionCode="1" android:versionName="1.0"> <application android:icon="@drawable/icon" android:label="@string/app_name"> <receiver android:name="simpleclick"> <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.appwidget.action.APPWIDGET_UPDATE" /> </intent-filter> <meta-data android:name="android.appwidget.provider" android:resource="@xml/simpleclick" /> </receiver> </application> <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="5" /> </manifest> I would appreciate some help! Thanks, Wendy

  • How to get dropdown menu to open/close on click rather than hover?

    - by TankDriver
    Hello! I am very new to java and ajax/jquery and have been working on trying to get a script to open and close the drop menu on click rather that hover. The menu in question is found on http://www.gamefriction.com/Coded/ and is the dark menu on the right side under the header. I would like it to open and close like the other menu that is further below it (it is light gray and is in the "Select Division" module). The gray menu is part of a menu and the language menu is not. I have a jquery import as well which can be found in the view source of the above link. My Java: <script type="text/javascript"> /* Language Selector */ $(function() { $("#lang-selector li").hover(function() { $('ul:first',this).css('display', 'block'); }, function() { $('ul:first',this).css('display', 'none'); }); }); $(document).ready(function(){ /* Navigation */ $('.subnav-game').hide(); $('.subnav-game:eq(0)').show(); $('.preorder-type').hide(); $('.preorder-type:eq(3)').show(); }); </script> My CSS: #lang-selector { font-size: 11px; height: 21px; margin: 7px auto 17px auto; width: 186px; } #lang-selector span { color: #999; float: left; margin: 4px 0 0 87px; padding-right: 4px; text-align: right; } #lang-selector ul { float: left; list-style: none; margin: 0; padding: 0; } #lang-selector ul li a { padding: 3px 10px 1px 10px; } #lang-selector ul, #lang-selector a { width: 186px; } #lang-selector ul ul { display: none; position: absolute; } #lang-selector ul ul li { border-top: 1px solid #666; float: left; position: relative; } #lang-selector a { background: url("http://www.gamefriction.com/Coded/images/language_bg.png") no-repeat; color: #666; display: block; font-size: 10px; height: 17px; padding: 4px 10px 0 10px; text-align: left; text-decoration: none; width: 166px; } #lang-selector ul ul li a { background: #333; color: #999; } #lang-selector ul ul li a:hover { background: #c4262c; color: #fff; } My HTML: <div id="lang-selector"> <ul> <li> <a href="#">Choose a Language</a> <ul> <li><a href="?iw_lang=en">English</a></li> <li><a href="?iw_lang=de">Deutsch</a></li> <li><a href="?iw_lang=es">Espa&ntilde;ol</a></li> <li><a href="?iw_lang=fr">Fran&ccedil;ais</a></li> <li><a href="?iw_lang=it">Italiano</a></li> </ul> </li> </ul> </div> Thanks!
