• Different url scheme for Zend Framework

  For our CMS we have a site manager that defines the site's tree structure (sitemap if you want to call it that). A possible url is www.example.com/our-team/developers/chris/ which would map in the tree structure to the node chris, child old developers which is in turn a child of out-team. All this is in place and working the the wonderfully implemented Nested Set behavior in doctrine. The only thing is that i'm struggling to get it working in the front end of our website. By default Zend framework's request object expects controller/action/key/value/key/value/... URI scheme but that isn't quite fitting my needs, i would like to skip the whole controller, action and key part and restrict to values. Something like value1/value2/value3/value4/... Anyone has an idea how to accomplish this?

  I have a splitview with a pop over master view using UINavigationController. The problem is I have some custom text views in the header of the nav controller and when it switches to the pop-over view the style of the nav bar changes. This makes the colors of the text clash since they are no longer using the correct settings for the new navbar style. How do you determine the proper default text colors for a given navigation bar (style)? The issue is because I'm using a split view in the iPad but you should be able to determine the proper colors for an iPhone nav bar too.

  mjustin in his question 1 and question 2 says that TWideStringField.Size property for UTF8 fields in Delphi 2009 dbExpress is 4 times larger than the logical field size (max number of characters in the field). I inclined to consider this a dbExpress bug. That is what Delphi 2009 Help says: The interpretation of Size depends on the data type. The meaning of Size for data types that use it is given in the following table. For all other data types, Size is not used and its value is always 0. ftString - Size is the maximum number of characters in the string. I am using FibPlus 6.9.9 and it follows the above documentation - the string field size is the maximum number of characters, not bytes. So the question also implies the following question: Are DbExpress drivers in Delphi 2009 unusable for unicode databases?

• How to setup .htaccess to rewrite to different folder

  I'm moving my site to a new host but I need to have my current server continue to handle requests (not all files can be moved to the new server). So I added a parked domain to my old server (old.mydomain.com) and I want all requests to it to be written to the files from the old site. My old site (mydomain.com) was hosted internally in a folder (/public_html/mydomain/) and I want all requests to old.mydomain.com to be rewritten to the same folder. So if mydomain.com/blog was internally at /public_html/mydomain/blog I now want old.mydomain.com/blog also to reach /public_html/mydomain/blog. Here is the .htaccess that I'm trying to use: RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^old\.mydomain\.com/* RewriteRule ^(.*)$ mydomain/$1 [NC,L] but for some reason as soon as I add the $1 in the rewrite rule I get an internal error. Any ideas?

List<Entry<String, Integer>> li = new LinkedList<Entry<String, Integer>>(); would do the job for a list but I would rather have the performance of an array. I tried Entry<String, Integer>[] = new Entry<String, Integer>[10]; but that doesn't seem to work.

• Supporting different locale regions using Rails i18n

  I'm using the standard Rails I18n API to localise some of our views. This is working really well, but we now have a few use cases for regional changes to the en locale. The API guide mentions that this isn't supported directly, and other plugins should be used. However, I'm wondering whether there's a simpler way to do this. I already have en.yml, so in theory I could just create en-AU.yml and en-US.yml which are effectively clones of en.yml but with a few regional changes applied. I could then add additional English - American and English - Australian options to our configuration which would map to the new region-specific locales and allow users to use a region-specific locale. The only problem I can think of with this is that it isn't DRY -- I would have duplicate translations for all common English words. I can't see a way around this. Are there any other disadvantages to this approach, or should I just bite the bullet and dive into one of the plug-ins such as Globalize2 instead?

• Locking behaviour is different via network shares

  I have been trying to lock a file so that other cloned services cannot access the file. I then read the file, and then move the file when finished. The Move is allowed by using FileShare.Delete. However in later testing, we found that this approach does not work if we are looking at a network share. I appreciate my approach may not have been the best, but my specific question is: Why does the below demo work against the local file, but not against the network file? • Email to be sent out from a dedicated server with different IP

  We have three domains hosted on one dedicated server each with its own dedicated IP. Domain A - Has the server primary IP address (default server IP) Domain B - Has its own IP address Domain C - has its own IP address If an email goes out from Domain B then it uses the Domain A IP address in outgoing and this makes emails from Domain B using PHP go straight to spam box of Gmail etc. Is there any way to change the source IP depending on where the email originates from in PHP? What should we change to fix this?

Meaning solutions that are either more readable or faster(optimized) or simply best-practice. • Winforms: calling entry form function from a different class

  I'm kinda new to programming and got a question on what is a good practice. I created a class that represents a ball and it has a function Jump() that use 2 timers and get the ball up and down. I know that in Winforms you got to call Invalidate() every time you want to repaint the screen, or part of it. I didn't find a good way to do that, so I reference the form in my class, and called Invalidate() inside my ball class every time I need to repaint to ball movement. I want my user to be able to display all leads from a certain date (e.g. today, yseterday), and choose the timezone. E.g. if I want to see all leads that were generated yesterday in EST timezone, I need to first convert (or read) all the datetime values to EST, and then only select those who are in the right range (yesterday). What would be the best way to do that?

  Suppose I have the following query: select * from A, B, C, D where A.x = B.x and B.y = C.y and A.z = D.z I have indexes on A.x and B.x and B.y and C.y and D.z There is no index on A.z. How can I give a hint to this query to use an INDEX hint on A.x but a USE_HASH hint on A.z? It seems like hints only take the table name, not the specific join, so when using a single table with multiple joins I can only specify a single strategy for all of them. Alternative, suppose I'm using a LEADING or ORDERED hint on the above query. Both of these hints only take a table name as well, so how can I ensure that the A.x = B.x join takes place before the A.z = D.z one? I realize in this case I could list D first, but imagine D subsequently joins to E and that the D-E join is the last one I want in the entire query. A third configuration -- Suppose I want the A.x join to be the first of the entire query, and I want the A.z join to be the last one. How can I use a hint to have a single join from A to take place, followed by the B-C join, and the A-D join last?
