  Hi all! I have an Array of Class elements, and by an int variable i need to resize this array to the last X elements. So for example i have an array with: Array[0] = Msg1 Array[1] = Msg2 Array[2] = Msg3 Array[3] = Msg4 Array[4] = Msg5 Array[5] = Msg6 Array[6] = Msg7 Array[7] = Msg8 Array[8] = Msg9 Array[9] = Msg10 and i need to have only the last 8 elements in the array. i cannot use the Array.Resize function because the result would be: Array[0] = Msg1 Array[1] = Msg2 Array[2] = Msg3 Array[3] = Msg4 Array[4] = Msg5 Array[5] = Msg6 Array[6] = Msg7 Array[7] = Msg8 and i need something like this: Array[0] = Msg3 Array[1] = Msg4 Array[2] = Msg5 Array[3] = Msg6 Array[4] = Msg7 Array[5] = Msg8 Array[6] = Msg9 Array[7] = Msg10 How can i do this? i hope my problem is clear.   I am working outside of magento store root folder (1.4) and I would like to get customers order totals, and date of last order. I have started with this: $customer = Mage::getModel('customer/customer')->load($entity_id); $customerTotals =Mage::getResourceModel('sales/sale_collection') ->setCustomerFilter($customer) ->load() ->getTotals(); echo $customerTotals->getNumOrders(); echo money_format('$%i',$customerTotals->getLifetime()); This seems to be giving me totals from the wrong customer... • How to remember last state with Jquery?

  I have a menu with submenus that can be toggled (hide/show type deal). Is there a relatively easy way to remember last state of the menu? (I hide/show submenu when clicking on a header and change a style of the header so the background arrow will change (up/down)). It works fine, but I'd like it to remember last state, so when user goes to another page on the site and gets back, the menu shows the same way as user left it. I'm not really good with cookies so any help will be appreciated. Yeah, menu is generated dynamically from the db using PHP. There are now only 2 headers with submenus, but there will be more so I'd need some method that's "scalable" for any number of submenus. • Using ContentProviderOperation to update and insert contacts

  Hello, I faced the problem updating/insertng contacts on Android 2.0+. There is no problem to insert a new contact when phone book is empty but when I did it 2nd time some fileds like TEL, EMAIL are doubled and tripped etc. but N, FN, ORG are ok (one copy). After getting and advice of other member this forum I updated a contact first and then ContentProviderResult[] returned uri's with null then I do an insert action and it went ok but after that I made an update and all contacts are aggregated into one - i got 1 contact insted 3 which existed in phone book. This one was damaged, the contact fields are randomly built. I set Google account. Please note that we have item_id=5 in array, but we don't have item_id=5 in database. I can use INSERT ... ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE, but this way image_id=5 will be inserted into talbe items. How to avoid inserting new key? I just want item_id=5 be skipped because it is not in table. Of course, before execution I can select existing keys from items table; then compare with keys in array; delete nonexistent keys and perform INSERT ... ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE. But maybe there is some more elegant solutions? Thank you.

We know that the worst case complexity for SEARCH operation in sorted array is O(lg N), if we use Binary Search, where N are the number of items in an array. What is the worst case complexity for the search operation in the array that includes duplicate values, using binary search?? Will it be the be the same O(lg N)?? Please correct me if I am wrong!! Also what is the worst case for INSERT operation in sorted array using binary search?? My guess is O(N).... is that right?? 2-) For unsorted array I have used Linear search. Now we have an unsorted array that also accepts duplicate element/values. What are the best worst case complexity for both SEARCH and INSERT operation. I think that we can use linear search that will give us O(N) worst case time for both search and delete operations. Can we do better than this for unsorted array and does the complexity changes if we accepts duplicates in the array.

  I have a WCF service with an object structure similar to this: public class MyClass { public List<MySubItem> SubItems { get; set; } } public class MySubItem { public List<MySubSubItem> SubSubItems { get; set; } } public class MySubSubItem { public string DataValue { get; set; } } public class MyClassDAL { public void InsertMyClass(MyClass myClass) { ctx.MyClasses.InsertOnSubmit(myClass); ctx.SubmitChanges(); } } Sometimes my client will call in with a MyClass that submits only half of the values that it has in the list SubSubItems. Later it calls the insert with the rest of the list. The problem is that when it does this I get a Primary Key violation. The reason is that it is trying to insert the MySubItem again (because there are more items in the SubSubItems owned by the same MySubItem object). How do I deal with this? Do I just call an Update? Do I have to try to separate them out (updates from inserts)? SQL Server 2008 has a really cool Merge functionally. Is there some way to access that from LinqToSQL?

• Grouped UITableView Footer Sometimes Hidden On Quick Scroll

  OK, this one is a puzzler. There is one similar post but it's not similar enough to count, so I'm posting this one. :) I've got a grouped UITableView with a header and footer. The footer includes two UIButton views, side-by-side. Nothing major. Now … there is a toggle button in a UIToolbar at the bottom for more/less info in this table view. So I build my index paths to delete/insert with fade row animation, all the usual ingredients, sandwiched between beginUpdates and endUpdates calls on the UITableView … and this works fine! In also happens that my footer can sometimes be pushed off past the bottom of the display. Here's where it gets weird. If I drag my finger up the display, scrolling the view upward, I should see that footer eventually, right? Well … most of the time I do. BUT, if I flick my finger up, for a faster scroll, the footer is missing. Even if you try to tap in that area - no response. However, if I scroll back down again, just to hide that footer (or rather hide the area where the footer would normally be), and then scroll back up, it's there once again! This only happens when inserting rows. If I delete rows, the footer stays put … unless of course it was already hidden and I didn't perform the aforementioned incantation to get it back. :) I am trying to trace through this, but to no avail. I suppose tracing through scroll operations is a bit of a crazy proposition! Perhaps some creative logging … suggestions, anyone? Or is this a known issue in 3.1 where row insert/deletes are concerned? (I don't recall seeing it until 3.1.)

• Zend: Fetching row from session db table after generating session id

  Hi, I'm trying to update the session table used by Zend_Session_SaveHandler_DbTable directly after authenticating the user and writing the session to the DB. But I can neither update nor fetch the newly inserted row, even though the session id I use to check (Zend_Session::getId()) is valid and the row is indeed inserted into the table. Upon fetching all session ids (on the same request) the one I newly inserted is missing from the results. It does appear in the results if I fetch it with something else. I've checked whether it is a problem with transactions and that does not seem to be the problem - there is no active transaction when I'm fetching the results. I've also tried fetching a few seconds after writing using sleep(), which doesn't help. $auth->getStorage()->write($ident); //sleep(1) $update = $this->db->update('session', array('uid' => $ident->user_id), 'id='.$this->db->quote(Zend_Session::getId())); $qload = 'SELECT id FROM session'; $load = $this->db->fetchAll($qload); echo $qload; print_r($load); $update fails. $load doesn't contain the row that was written with $auth-getStorage()-write($identity). $qload does contain the correct query - copying it to somewhere else leads to the expected result, that is the inserted row is included in the results. Database used is MySQL - InnoDB. If someone knows how to directly fix this (i.e. on the same request, not doing something like updating after redirecting to another page) without modifying Zend_Session_SaveHandler_DbTable: Thank you very much!

  I'm currently working with the versant object database (using jvi), and have a case where I need to query the database based on an object id. What I'm trying to achieve is something along the lines of Employee employee = new Employee("Mr. Pickles"); session.commit(); FundVQLQuery q = new FundVQLQuery(session, "select * from Employee employee where employee = $1"); q.bind(employee); q.execute(); However, I'm finding out the hard way (I get an EVJ_NOT_A_VALID_KEY_TYPE error thrown at me) that this is infact not the way to do it. Anyone got any experience in working with VQL? Your help is much apreciated! A small clarification: The problem is I'm running some performance tests on the database using the pole position framework, and one of the tests in that framework requires me to fetch an object from the database using either an object reference or a low level object id. Thus, I'm not allowed to reference specific fields in the employee object, but must perform the query on the object in its entirety. So, it's not allowed for me to go "select * from Employee e where e.id = 4", I need it to use the entire object. • Generate an ID via COM interop

  At the moment, we've got an unmaintanable ball of code which offers an interface to a third party application. The third party application has a COM assembly which MUST be used to create new entries. This process involves two steps: generate a new object (basically an ID), and update that object with new field values. Because COM interop is so slow, we only use that to generate the ID (and related objects) in the database. The actual update is done using a regular SQL query. What I am trying to figure out if it's possible to use NHibernate to do some of the heavy lifting for us, without bypassing the COM assembly. Here's the code for saving something to the database as I envision it: using(var s = sessionFactory.OpenSession()) using(var t = s.BeginTransaction()) { MyEntity entity = new MyEntity(); s.Save(entity); t.Commit(); } Regular NH code I'd say. Now, this is where it gets tricky. I think I have to supply my own implementation of NHibernate.Id.IIdentifierGenerator which calls the COM assembly in the Generate method. That's not a problem. What IS a problem is that the COM assembly requires initialisation, which does take a bit of time. It also doesn't like multiple instances in the same process, for some reason. What I would like to know is if there's a way to properly access an external service in the generator code. I'm free to use any technique I want, so if it involves something like an IoC container that's no problem. The thing I am looking for is where exactly to hook-up my code so I can access the things I need in my generator, without having to resort to using singletons or other nasty stuff.

(fields for...) <%= submit_tag "Save" %> <% end %> Why is this not working? If I browse to the url: "http://localhost:3000/shifts/update_individual/5" (or any number that corresponds to an existing shift), I get the proper error about having no parameters set, but when I pass parameters without an ID of some sort, it errors out. How do I make it stop looking for an ID at the end of the URL?
