• make programmer notepad default files as .txt?

  I am using http://www.pnotepad.org/ (i wouldnt mind switching to something else if it lightweight and has most/all features i like which i'll check on a app by app basis) When i create a new tab/file and save it unless i write .txt i get a file with no extention. Which makes it hard to open since i cant double click it (i dont think i can tell win7 to set a default app for files with no extension) How do i make pnotepad save with a .txt when non are specified?

• Fixing layout in Word document so users entering text doesn't alter spacing

  I have a Word document for users to fill in with a number of headings. I would like them to fill in text in the blank spaces, but without the page shifting down as they type (so in essence they would have a fixed space to enter their answers). Is there any way to do this? The only way I'm aware of which is using the "Text box" shape, which isn't ideal. Thanks

• whats the default username and password for an ubuntu live cd?

  What's the username and password for an ubuntu live cd image? I ask cause I've recently copied the contents of an ubuntu based live iso (easypeasy, the ldistro for nwtbooks) onto a harddisk, but the squash fs is corrupt. Most likely cause I copied it live. :) so it's not autologging in. Is there a username/password for this? Update: I tried username ubuntu and a blank password, it didn't work

From the materials I've been reading I have established I need to have the following URL in place: http://IP/emapp/EmAppServlet?device=#DEVICENAME# If I try and browse to this in a web browser I can a blankHTML page. When my registered phone (CIPC) presses Services - Extension Mobility, it just sits there / delivers a blank page. I figure this isn't coincidence... Any ideas?

  I'm following a video tutorial where the author (who uses textmate) can open files by using "mate". for example mate .git/config will open this config file I'm using textwrangler however so I don't have that option. I did try edit .README once when i tried to open the README file of an application, but it opened a blank README file in textwrangler instead of the file with the text in it so any idea how I can open this .git/config file (or any other file) using textwrangler?   I've created a form in a PDF with Adobe Acrobat Pro. When empy, I want to use it as a template which the user opens, fills in, and saves as a copy to preserve the blank state of the template. Here's the trick : I found both ways to make the document read only - the user can't save the form value, only print them make the document writeable, but in this case the document acting as a template can be modified too. Any ideas? Thanks.

  I use AWN dock on Linux (which behaves much like Windows 7 panes, using one icon for launching an application and managing its windows). It loses Skype (as well as any other application) when it goes minimized to system tray (notification area). Can I disable Skype from minimizing to system tray favouring Win7-like behaviour? Skype version I use is 2.1 beta, but I would not mind reinstalling it in favour of another version. I use Arch Linux with all the latest kernel, x.org and xfce.

  I have a small SSD and I want to reclain the space currently used by the hiberfil.sys (~4GB) by disabling hybernation or perhaps preferably, move it to an HDD. I see under "power Options" that "Sleep/Hibernate After" is set to "Never", yet I have this 4 GB hiberfil.sys file. I don't see any other options pertaining to Hybernation. how do I remove this file and keep it from coming back or relocate it to another drive, an HDD where I would not mind the frivelous writes to take place.

  I want to add usb network support to a real-time Linux distribution we're using at work. USB devices are recognized, but when connecting a usb network adapter no network interface is created. • Is there a way to "lock" the viewport in vim?

  I recently started using Vim with NERDTree. The annoying thing is when I close the buffer, NERDTree expands to fill the rest of the screen, and I have to open another file and reopen NERDTree to get it back to the old layout. Is there a way to "lock" NERDTree in place? Ideally, closing a buffer would replace it with another buffer that's hidden, or open a new blank buffer if no other buffers are open. Thanks!

I am using the IF function to find cells within certain ranges, but want the cell to contain the value if it falls within that specific range. for example: =IF (AA3 is between 150 and 400 then AD3 is equal to AA3 and if not leave blank) my current formula below does not work: =IF(AND(AA3150, AA3<400), AD3=AA3, "" ) where AD3 is the cell I am working in... any suggestions?

• Is there a way to snapshot a running process to disk to restore it later?

  I usually work with a lot of instances of visual studio open to different projects, I was wondering if there is a way to snapshot/hibernate a running process to disk instead of closing it so that I can open it in the same state as it was quickly. I have a ton of free disk space so wouldn't mind saving the entire process snapshot if it would save me the time in opening up the solution and waiting for the projects to load.
