The game I'm working on is not one of these but it's a good reference. What are some methods you can apply to the game or the design that increases the appeal of the game to the user? Of course you can make it prettier but what are some other methods you can use? For example: Visual cues, game design changes, user interface arrangement, etc.

    I want to pass some ArrayList X into method a(Collection someCol) that takes Collection as an input. How can I do this? I thought an ArrayList was a Collection and thus I should be able to "just do it" but it seems that Collection is an interface and ArrayList implements this interface. Is there something I can do to make this work ... if you understand the theory that would also help me and possibly lots of other people. Thanks

  • Facebook PHP SDK - can't pass parameters to getLoginUrl()

    I'm using the Facebook PHP SDK for simple login with extended permissions. I'm using the example code from the SDK docs, but I found that I need to manually clear out the FB session data otherwise if($user) comes back as true even though the user is logged out. I have the app going to logout.php upon logout; this page clears out the session vars and redirects to the app home page. Once I clear out the FB session data, log in/log out works fine. However, it stops working if I pass $params to the getLoginUrl function.   • In 2011 is it truly necessary to still degrade js?

    Serious question. I tried most of the famous websites (including facebook) and I can say that tons of functionality doesn't degrade at all with js disabled. I've been always told that js should degrade gracefully, but does this still applies in these day and age? ie6 support is being dropped by several sites, and most of the web2.0 relies heavily on js (especially ajax, I even found some sites that doesn't let you login without js enabled). What are your thought about it?

  • How to pass an int value on UIButton click inside UITableView

    So I have a view controller with a single UITableView that shows a string to the user. But I needed a way to have the user select this object by id using a normal UIButton so I added it as a subview and the click event works as expected. The issue is this - how can I pass an int value to this click event? I've tried using attributes of the button like button.tag or button.accessibilityhint without much success. How do the professionals pass an int value like this? Also it's important that I can get the actual [x intValue] from the int later in the process. A while back I thought I could do this with a simple NSLog(@"the actual selected hat was %d", [obj.idValue intValue]); But this doesn't appear to work (any idea how I can pull the actual int value directly from the variable?).
