  • No compile errors when reference added, but errors seen upon build

    A solution was just converted from VS 2008 to VS 2010. My VS 2010 build is failing with the popular "The type or namespace X could not be found". When I go to the project and go to Add References and add the appropriate project dll, the class name appears in blue text as if .NET found the correct class. However, when I go to the Build menu and select "Build Solution" I get the "namespace not found error" and the class name is no longer blue. Thanks.

  • Why can you reference an imported module using the importing module in python

    I am trying to understand why any import can be referenced using the importing module, e.g #module master.py import slave and then >>>import master >>>print master.slave gives <module 'slave' from 'C:\Documents and Settings....'> What is the purpose of the feature? I can see how it can be helpful in a package's __init__.py file, but nothing else. Is it a side effect of the fact that every import is added to the module's namespace and that the module's namespace is visible from the outside? If so, why didn't they make an exception with data imported from other modules (e.g don't show it as part of the module's namespace for other modules)?

  • Reference inherited class's <T>ype in a derived class

    I don't know if its possible or not, but here's what I need. I'm toying around with something and want to know if its possible since you can't create your own data type based on a sealed type such as int, Int32, Int64, etc. I want to create a top-level class that is defined of a given type with some common stuff. Then, derive this into two subclasses, but in this case, each class is based on either and int or Int64 type. From THAT instance, create an instance of either one and know its yped basis for parameter referenc / return settings. So when I need to create an instance of the "ThisClass", I don't have to know its type basis of either int or Int64, yet IT will know the type and be able to allow methods/functions to be called with the typed... This way, If I want to change my ThisClass definition from SubLevel1 to SubLevel2, I don't have to dance around all different data type definitions. Hope this makes sense.. public class TopLevel<T> { ... } pubic class SubLevel1 : TopLevel<int> { ... } public class SubLevel2 : TopLevel<Int64> { ... } public class ThisClass : SubLevel1 { ... public <based on the Int data type from SubLevel1> SomeFunc() { return <the Int value computed>; } }

  • Reference a internal class from a Windows Workflow Activity

    I'm creating a custom Workflow activity for use within TFS2010. In the same assembly I have a XAML activity and a C# code activity. The XAML activity references the code activity. When the assembly is deployed to our clients, I only want them to be able to use the Workflow activity. The code activity is of little use by itself and would no doubt confuse them. I thought the logical way to do this would be to set the code activity class to internal: the XAML is in the same assembly and should be able to access it. However, when I do that I get an error in the XAML saying that the assembly can't be found. Is there a way to make activities internal/hidden?

    Hi StackOverflow, Can someone tell me the correct way of passing multiple vectors to a function that can take only a single argument? (specifically for pthread_create (..) function) I tried the following but it does not seem to work :-( First, I created the following structure struct ip2 { void* obj; int dim; int n_s; vector<vector<vector<double> > > *wlist; vector<int> *nrsv; struct model *pModel; }; The threads that I have created actually needs all these parameters.     Afternoon all, I really need your help as this is a Nightmare! I was earlier having a problem with referencing a 3rd Party Dll (Here) but have overcome this problem and am now having a problem referencing my own classes! Everything seems fine at build with no errors at all but when I go to run the application it comes up with the following Compilation Error: Compiler Error Message: CS0234: The type or namespace name 'Secure' does not exist in the namespace 'source_extranet' (are you missing an assembly reference?) The line that the Error points to this line in the class: source_extranet.Secure.BackendCustomData newdata = new source_extranet.Secure.BackendCustomData(); This line of code points to a class in the same folder as the calling code class. I have scoured Google looking for an answer and haven't found anything that points me to an answer to my problem. Any help would be AMAZING!

When the user clicks the hyperlink I'm trying to close the parent dialog (the dialog that this content is in) but it's not doing anything. I know that the alert gets hit and that there is an object for parent.$('#dialog'); so not sure why it won't close the parent dialog

I am looking for a way to group them by Color, but with a maximum of 2 items per group (sorting is not important). I am building it in a similar fashion to facebook's system, so messages are grouped into threads, etc. My related models are: MsgThread - main container of a thread Message - each message/reply in thread Recipience - ties to user to define which users should subscribe to this thread Read - determines whether or not a user has read a specific message My relationships look like class User < ActiveRecord::Base #stuff... has_many :msg_threads, :foreign_key => 'originator_id' #threads the user has started has_many :recipiences has_many :subscribed_threads, :through => :recipiences, :source => :msg_thread #threads the user is subscribed to end class MsgThread < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :messages has_many :recipiences belongs_to :originator, :class_name => "User", :foreign_key => "originator_id" end class Recipience < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :user belongs_to :msg_thread end class Message < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :msg_thread belongs_to :author, :class_name => "User", :foreign_key => "author_id" end class Read < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :user belongs_to :message end I'd like to create a new selector in the user sort of like: has_many :updated_threads, :through => :recipiencies, :source => :msg_thread, :conditions => {THREAD CONTAINS MESSAGES WHICH ARE UNREAD (have no 'read' models tying a user to a message)} I was thinking of either writing a long condition with multiple joins, or possibly writing giving the model an updated_threads method to return this, but I'd like to see if there is an easier way first.     Hi, I've just added a ttf file to the project (c# 2008 express) as "file" and build option to embeded resource. I'm having problems when trying to set this font like this: (I know the next line is wrong...) this.label1.Font = AlarmWatch.Properties.Resources.Baby_Universe; Error 1 Cannot implicitly convert type 'byte[]' to 'System.Drawing.Font' C:\Users\hongo\Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\AlarmWatch\AlarmWatch\Form1.Designer.cs 57 32 AlarmWatch I know it is byte[] cause I've set the option build as embeded resource, but...comparing with this line that is correct "this.label1.Font = new System.Drawing.Font("OCR A Extended", 24F, System.Drawing.FontStyle.Regular, System.Drawing.GraphicsUnit.Point, ((byte)(0)));" How can I set this.label1 to use the new font??? thanks

I know the plusses and minuses of using the connection to the database when running unit tests, and I still want to use it. Yet, every time when I run the tests with the NUnit tool, they all fail due to my Data Context being null. I heard something about having a separate config file for the tests assembly, but i am not sure whether I did it properly, or whether that works at all.

    Given an Oracle Merge statement with a rejection limit, is there a shorthand way to identify how many rows were rejected, without being forced to query the rejection destination? The rejection destination has records pre-merge, so would currently have to be counted twice and the difference taken, but it seems like there should be a counter exposed, given that it has to be aware of whether it has exceeded the rejection limit.

  • Display user name in reference to user id in django template

    I expect this is an easy question. For some reason, I don't have a solution yet. I have an object set from django reversion: version_list. Each object in the set has a user id attached to it. How do I grab the user names that correspond to the user ID's? To try to be clearer, if each object in version_list has a name, date, and user id, how can I join the version_list set with the user table to figure out what user id goes with which name? This is done in the view, or the template?
