  • Silverlight ItemsControl vertical scrollbar, using a wrappanel as ControlTemplate

    I have a collection of elements, each one with a name and a subcollection of image blobs. I want to display an Accordion, with each item representing each of the MainElements. inside each element, I display the images in the subcollecion of said MainElement. The Accordion gets resized by the user, so I use a wrappanel for presenting the images. When the accordion is wide enough, the images reorder themselves fitting as many as posible in each row. the problem comes when the wrappanel only displays one image per row (because there's no space enough for more), the image list continues, but I can't see all the images, because they don't fit inside the control's height. I need a vertical scrollbar to be displayed inside the AccordionItem so I can scroll down the image list.     Hello! I have two UserControls ("UserControlParentView" and "UserControlChildView") with MVVM pattern implemented in both controls. Parent control is a container for Child control and child control's property should be updated by data binding from Parent control in order to show/hide some check box inside Child control. Parent Control Description UserControlParentViewModel has property: private bool isShowCheckbox = false; public bool IsShowCheckbox { get { return isShowCheckbox; } set { isShowCheckbox = value; NotifyPropertyChanged("IsShowCheckbox"); } } UserControlParentViewModel - how I set DataContext of Parent control: public UserControlParentView() { InitializeComponent(); this.DataContext = new UserControlParentViewModel(); } UserControlParentView contains toggle button (in XAML), bound to UserControlParentViewModel's property IsShowCheckbox <ToggleButton Grid.Column="1" IsChecked="{Binding IsShowCheckbox, Mode=TwoWay}"></ToggleButton> Also Parent control contains instance of child element (somewhere in XAML) <local:UserControlChildView IsCheckBoxVisible="{Binding IsShowCheckbox}" ></local:UserControlChildView> so property in child control should be updated when user togggle/untoggle button. Child control contains Boolean property to be updated from parent control, but nothing happened! Breakpoint never fired!     How can I recursivly bind a Treeview to an XDocument, mapping each XML Element to a Node in the Treeview?     For a few months I have been successfully using David Justices Default Button example in my SL 3 app. This approach is based on an attached property. After upgrading to SL4, the approach no longer works, and I get a XAML exception: "Unknown parser error: Scanner 2148474880" Has anyone succesfully used this (or any other) default button attached behaviours in SL4? Is there any other way to achieve default button behaviour in SL4 with the new classes that are available? Thanks, Mark

  • Silverlight MouseLeftButtonDown event not firing

    For the life of me, I can not get this to work. I can get MouseEnter, MouseLeave, and Click events to fire, but not MouseLeftButtonDown or MouseLeftButtonUp.     I have a grid, 3 by 3 (3 rowdefinitions and 3 columndefinitions). I want some content (a StackPanel) in one of those grid cells to scroll. I'm fairly sure this is possible but I cannot figure out how. I've tried adding ScrollViewers and Scrollbar controls to the grid cell I want to scroll, but this usually ends up creating scrolling for the entire page. Edit: My issue is more specificlly how I can get scrolling over a StackPanel. The same happens for {0:u} or {0:s}. Any help would be gratefully received. :)

  • Autocompletebox text in Silverlight

    I'm having trouble getting the autocomplete box in System.Windows.Controls.Input working as I wish. When I start typing the dropdown section that displays the filtered list doesn't show the property that I'm binding to, it shows the class name instead. So in the example below, when I type in my - instead of showing 'My Name' it shows MyNamespace.Person. However, when I select the item from the autocomplete list, it displays the FullName property in the textbox. I'm sure I'm just missing a simple autocomplete box property somewhere but I can't see it. Example code: public class Person { public string FirstName { get; set; } public string LastName { get; set; } public string FullName { get { return string.Format("{0} {1}", FirstName, LastName); } } } In my xaml code behind I create some Person objects and store them in a list and bind that list to an autocomplete box List<Person> people = new List<Person>(); people.Add(new Person { FirstName = "My", LastName = "Name" }); people.Add(new Person { FirstName = "Fernando", LastName = "Torres" }); acbNames.ItemsSource = people; My xaml: <my:AutoCompleteBox Name="acbNames" ValueMemberPath="FullName" /> /* after entering 'my', auto complete displays 'MyNamespace.Person' instead of 'My Name', but displays 'My Name' after selecting the item from the list */

    I have a business application (created from template) and I can change language dynamically by making ResourceWrapper INotifyPropertyChanged and then adding in code: private void Language_SelectionChanged(object sender, SelectionChangedEventArgs e) { Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentCulture = new CultureInfo(((ComboBoxItem)((ComboBox)sender).SelectedItem).Tag.ToString()); Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentUICulture = new CultureInfo(((ComboBoxItem)((ComboBox)sender).SelectedItem).Tag.ToString()); ((ResourceWrapper)App.Current.Resources["ResourceWrapper"]).ApplicationStrings = new ApplicationStrings(); } this works fine on resources referenced/binded in xaml files (i.e. MainPage frame), but it does not update references of anything I have declared in code i.e. InfoLabel.Content = ApplicationStrings.SomeString At the moment I'm not using ResourceWrapper. My question here is how can I change my code so it uses it and updates when ResourceWrapper change. I tried: InfoLabel.Content = ((ResourceWrapper)App.Current.Resources["ResourceWrapper"]) .ApplicationStrings.SomeString but it doesn't work. Any ideas?

    Hello, I have a datagrid with some TextColumn and one DataGridCheckBoxColumn. I bind it with à itemsource that contaned à boolean and i can see that my checkboxes or checked or not by the boolean everything is OK at this point. but the checkboxs cells are in ReadOnly even if i assigne IsReadOnly = False. I cant find the right and clean way to enable the editing. I dont need data validation but juste to be able to edit and check those checkboxes :) If anyone can help! thanks !!

    I have a couple of Storyboards in my view that I would like to trigger from the ViewModel if possible. Is there a simple way or elegant way of doing this. Here is what I am trying to do. Person Clicks on a Button--RelayCommand (In the ViewModel), the Relay Command should then play the storyboard.   • Silverlight 4 MediaElement play sound

    I converted a local sound file to a resource, which built this in my XAML: <UserControl.Resources> <my:Uri x:Key="SoundFiles">file:///c:/Audio/HebrewDemo/Shalom.wav</my:Uri> </UserControl.Resources> I did this by pasting a local disk mp3 filename into source, then clicked on the "dot" by source and chose "Extract Value to Resource". When I run, it tells me that "Uri" is not valid, and sure enough, in the Intellisense, I see other elements that start with "uri" but not just URI by itself. In the real world I want to specify a dynamic mp3 file name. For example, I might have a database of foreign language words used for flashcards, I want to play a sound file on a URL. But I thought I would try to walk before running...
