  • Google bot .net and AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport dilemma

    Hi, i have a .net mobile web site where i use sesion state and due to nature of mobile networks/phones (not all supports session cookies) i had to use <sessionState cookieless="AutoDetect"/> It works fine but because each new session redirected with "AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1" i have a feeling that google won't like this. Here is a small sample from my server logs supportForumReadTopic.aspx id=38 80 - 66.249.71.80 Mozilla/5.0+(compatible;+Googlebot/2.1;++http://www.google.com/bot.html) 302 supportForumReadTopic.aspx id=38&AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1 Mozilla/5.0+(compatible;+Googlebot/2.1;++http://www.google.com/bot.html) 200 As you see each new hit from google will get 302 to itself. I have a genericmozilla5.browser file where i define google bot as cookie supporting browser in order to get .net not to use cookieless urls but not sure how this 302 would effect me. Any one had smilar exprience? Any ideas? Suggestions? Thanks

    uploading multiple files from client to server with asp.net I have been looking at the asp.net upload control but that is for one file (unless someone knows a better way to do it). http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.web.ui.webcontrols.fileupload.aspx For what I want to do I don't even really need a browse. I know the files off of the client are at a certain location. Is it possible to create a collection of *HttpPostedFile*s and upload those? http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.web.httppostedfile.aspx I don't think it is possible but would be glad to be proven wrong. Is there a different asp.net method or control that will easily allow uploading multiple files from client to server?

    Perhaps it's a syntax error, but I never assume that. I have a -dead- simple AJAX test set up: http://www.mcphersonindustries.com/bucket/api.php is a file with simply: <?php echo "test"; ?> And I have Apache as localhost with this jQuery bit running: $(document).ready(function() { function doAjaxPost() { $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "http://www.mcphersonindustries.com/bucket/api.php", data: "null", success: function(resp){ console.log("Response: '" + resp + "'"); }, error: function(e){ console.log('Error: ' + e); } }); } doAjaxPost(); }); So Firebug spits out Response: '' each time, but nothing's coming through the request.     I have read a few articles mentioning converters from one language to another. I'm a bit more than skeptical about the use of such kind of tools. Does anyone know or have experiences let's say about Visual Basic to Java or vs converters? Just one example to pick http://www.tvobjects.com/products/products.html, claims to be the "world leader" or so in that aspect, However if read this: http://dev.mysql.com/tech-resources/articles/active-grid.html There the author states: "The consensus of MySQL users is that automated conversion tools for MS Access do not work. For example, tools that translate existing Access applications to Java often result in 80% complete solutions where finishing the last 20% of the work takes longer than starting from scratch." Well we know we need 80% of the time to implement the first 80% functionality and another 80% of the time for the other 20 %.... So has anyone tried such tools and found them to be worthwhile?

    Hi all, I am building a small facebook application. I am using asp.net and currently working with the fb:req-choice control (tied along with fb:request-form and fb:multi-friend-selector). Problem is, that when I specify the redirect url for when the user clicks my invitation, instead of getting what I specified: http://apps.facebook.com/myApp/forum.aspx?tId=1&ref=app&code=2.74rRNejG7tpAOqgDCNf8qA__.3600.1275202400-106570384737670%7CPi8JpoHDW3xGuq2lxdZl1d4CLUU.     I have Python 3.1.2 and I'm using Windows XP. Where can I see Python's implementation of the Mersenne Twister? In the Python docs it is stated that the Mersenne Twister was written in C and the Python History and License ( http://docs.python.org/py3k/license.html?highlight=mersenne%20twister ) states that "The _random module includes code based on a download from http://www.math.keio.ac.jp/matumoto/MT2002/emt19937ar.html." random.py imports _random which apparently has the Mersenne Twister implementation in it. I can't seem to locate _random. Any thoughts?

    I recently posted a question which was answered by Bryan Watts, regarding generic repository for nHibernate. I'm trying to design my data access to allow various facets - from ASP.net, WCF and Windows Forms / Windows services. I'm a bit confused re: session management etc.. How would I handle this? I've been checking out code such as: http://membranecms.googlecode.com/svn/ and questions such as: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1207833/nhibernate-linq-session-management But what do i do if i don't just do things in a web based environment..? Do i need to create different repositories for each client? Or do i pass in the ISession into the (for example) UserRepository constructor..? ... as a side note I'm using nHibernate.Linq Also using fluent nHibernate to config my mapping

    I seem to have a problem loading .dll files into my silverlight application. this.pluginDownloader = new WebClient(); this.pluginDownloader.OpenReadCompleted += new OpenReadCompletedEventHandler(pluginDownloader_OpenReadCompleted); this.pluginDownloader.DownloadProgressChanged += new DownloadProgressChangedEventHandler(pluginDownloader_DownloadProgressChanged); String path = String.Format("http://localhost/Resources/Plugins/{0}.dll", this.pluginDetails.AssemblyName); this.pluginDownloader.OpenReadAsync(new Uri(path, UriKind.Relative)); I can manually download the .dll assembly file by navigating to it (eg: http://localhost/Resources/Plugins/myAssembly.dll) but it just stalls the silverlight app when the above code is executed. This works when I launch the project in visual studio so it must be some setting in IIS7. Anyone know how to fix this?

    The following code causes my vs 2008 wpf project to hang, I'm not sure why. Both Part 1 and Part 2 work perfectly fine independently, but when I run them together on an control event (click a button for example) the program hangs. I've also tried shell execute for part 2 - same results. However, this code when run within the form loaded event works fine. Any insights would be truly appreciated.   • How to build an offline web app using Flask?

    I'm prototyping an idea for a website that will use the HTML5 offline application cache for certain purposes. The website will be built with Python and Flask and that's where my main problem comes from: I'm working with those two for the first time, so I'm having a hard time getting the manifest file to work as expected. The issue is that I'm getting 404's from the static files included in the manifest file. The manifest itself seems to be downloaded correctly, but the files that it points to are not. This is what is spit out in the console when loading the page: Creating Application Cache with manifest http://127.0.0.1:5000/static/manifest.appcache offline-app:1 Application Cache Checking event offline-app:1 Application Cache Downloading event offline-app:1 Application Cache Progress event (0 of 2) http://127.0.0.1:5000/style.css offline-app:1 Application Cache Error event: Resource fetch failed (404) http://127.0.0.1:5000/style.css The error is in the last line. When the appcache fails even once, it stops the process completely and the offline cache doesn't work. Those files are probably being looked up in the wrong place, I guess. I either should place them somewhere else or I need something different in the cache manifest, but I have no idea what. I couldn't find anything online about having HTML5 offline applications with Flask. Is anyone able to help me out?

    I have a report that has ~1k columns and ~17k rows and I'm trying to render it to Excel 2007 with SSRS 2008 R2 Nov CTP. SSRS team members have mentioned in multiple places that Excel 2007 format is included in 2008 R2, for instance: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sqlreportingservices/thread/69545568-73cb-4f4c-8f35-44472ba6d013 Now, it's certainly possible that it just hasn't made it into the product yet (at least as of Nov CTP), and if that's the case, that would be good to know, too (and ideally when it would be in the product).     I am creating a WordPress site using Artisteer and various plugins to show off some photo galleries. I have also purchased a e-commerce WordPress theme that I have included as a subdirectory. In this theme they have a share button that I like the functionality of. I want to replicate the button in the front section of the site within the gallery pages.   • Can I port forward to an established reverse ssh tunnel

    I have three computers, A, B and C A has initiated a reverse ssh tunnel to B: ssh -nTNx -p 443 -R 22222:localhost:22 [user]@[server] If I log in to B, I can use 'ssh -p 22222 localhost' and I get a login prompt for A. If I try 'ssh -p 22222 [public IP of B]', it doesn't work What I would like to be able to do is have C connect to A without needing to login to B. So from C I could 'ssh -p 22222 [public IP of B]' and I would get the login prompt for A. I am using debian and shorewall and I have a basic understanding of how things work. I have tried various combinations of REDIRECT and DNAT rules, but haven't had any luck. I have tried using the same port (22222) and a different port (forwarding 22223 from C to 22222 on localhost). My questions is how to link the file choosen from a JFileChooser to a file, and how to convert it to string being able to display and edit it in a TextArea. I have the GUI set up using swing, but the link between actionListener and the JFileChooser is not complete. Any help would be much appreciated.
