• C# WebBrowser.ShowPrintDialog() not showing

  I have this peculiar problem while wanting to print a html-report. The file itself is a normal local html file, located on my hard drive. To do this, I have tried the following: public static void PrintReport(string path) { WebBrowser wb = new WebBrowser(); wb.Navigate(path); wb.ShowPrintDialog() } And I have this form with a button with the click event: private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { string path = @"D:\MyReport.html"; PrintReport(path); } This does absolutely nothing. Which is kind of strange... but things get stranger... When editing the print function to do the following: public static void PrintReport(string path) { WebBrowser wb = new WebBrowser(); wb.Navigate(path); MessageBox.Show("TEST"); wb.ShowPrintDialog() } It works. Yes, only adding a MessageBox. The MessageBox is showing and after it comes the print dialog. I have also tried with Thread.Sleep(1000) instead, which doesn't work. Can anyone explain to me what's going on here? Why would a messagebox make any difference? Can it be some kind of permission problem? I've reproduced this on both Windows 7 and 8, same thing. I made this small application with only the above code to isolate the problem. I am quite sure it works on windows XP though, since an older version of the application I'm working on runs on it. When trying to do this directly with the mshtml-dll instead I also get problems. Any input or clarification is greatly appreciated!

• MSDeploy doesn't deploy to remote server using MSBuild and Visual Studio 2010

  I'm currently running Visual Studio Team System 2010 RC and I'm trying to get the Build Service setup to build my solution and deploy 3 web applications in it. I've created a custom build configuration called Integration and I've setup the "IIS Web site/application name to use on the destination server" on the Package/Publish tab of the Properties for each of the web applications. In my Build Definition I've set the following arguments: /p:DeployOnBuild=True /p:DeployTarget=MSDeployPublish /p:MSDeployPublishMethod=InProc /p:MsDeployServiceUrl=http://my-server-name:8172/msdeploy.axd /p:EnablePackageProcessLoggingAndAssert=True However, when I run the build I get the following error, for all three web applications: Updating setAcl (RightContent). C:\Program Files\MSBuild\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v10.0\Web\Microsoft.Web.Publishing.targets(3481,5): error : Web deployment task failed. (Attempted to perform an unauthorized operation.) I don't think this is my actual problem though. This error is occuring after the following entry in the log: Updating setAcl This is what's causing the error message, but it appears that MSDeploy is trying to deploy to the local IIS on the Build server, not the server I specified with the MsDeployServiceUrl parameter. After looking at the targets file at C:\Program Files\MSBuild\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v10.0\Web\Microsoft.Web.Publishing.targets, I added the EnablePackageProcessLoggingAndAssert, which adds extra logging. The log shows an emptry string for the value of MsDeployServiceUrl. I also noticed in the target that MsDeployServiceUrl has a lowercase s, which is somewhat confusing because the task name MSDeployPublish has an uppercase S. I tried using it using uppercase, then again using lowercase, but neither worked. A couple other things to note: My build service is running as NETWORK SERVICE. The server I'm trying to deploy to is on another domain. I also tried adding /p:username=mydomain\myusername /p:password=mypassword to the MSBuild paramter list, but that didn't help. Does anyone know if I'm supplying the correct parameters? Or provide me with the correct ones? Thanks

• [WPF] Custom TabItem in TabControl

  I've created CustomTabItem which inherits from TabItem and i'd like to use it while binding ObservableCollection in TabControl <TabControl ItemsSource="{Binding MyObservableCollection}"/> It should like this in XAML, but i do not know how change default type of the output item created by TabControl while binding. I've tried to create converter, but it has to do something like this inside convertin method: List<CustomTabItem> resultList = new List<CustomTabItem>(); And iterate through my input ObservableCollection, create my CustomTab based on item from collection and add it to resultList... I'd like to avoid it, bacause while creating CustomTabItem i'm creating complex View and it takes a while, so i don't want to create it always when something change in binded collection. My class extends typical TabItem and i'd like to use this class in TabControl instead of TabItem. <TabControl.ItemContainerStyle> <Style TargetType="{x:Type local:CustomTabItem}"> <Setter Property="MyProperty" Value="{Binding xxx}"/> </Style> </TabControl.ItemContainerStyle> Code above generates error that Style cannot be applied to TabItem. My main purpose is to use in XAML my own CustomTabItem and bind properties... Just like above... I've also tried to use <TabControl.ItemTemplate/> <TabControl.ContentTemaplte/> But they are just styles for TabItem, so i'll still be missing my properties wchich i added in my custom class.

• DotNetOpenAuth OpenID Provider "Sequence contains more than one element"

  Hello, all, I'm having trouble implementing my OpenID provider with DNOA 3.4.3. Everything was going absolutely peachy until I needed AX support as well. I set AXFetchAsSregTransform in the web config, as recommended by Andrew at http://groups.google.com/group/dotnetopenid/browse_thread/thread/5629a24c0a7e8d99. Doing this caused me to get the exception "Sequence Contains More Than One Element" on my decide.aspx page, however, and I haven't been able to get past it. The following line is throwing the exception: Edit: Strangely enough, this is not the line throwing the error anymore. The SendResponse() is now triggering the exception ClaimsRequest requestedFields = ProviderEndpoint.PendingRequest.GetExtension(); ProviderEndpoint.SendResponse() Any thoughts on why this may be? • Weird vps server issue

  I have an unmanaged linux vps Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric Ocelot). I have LNMP installed. Also php-fpm php-apc, varnish, memcache. I have (or rather had) several live sites on it. under normal load the server uses ~700 mb memory. But since last night its using only 20mb~ memory and a lot of the services seems to be down (according to htop) I only see nginx working and mysql starts up and goes does every few minutes on a loop.   I am having much problems setting up the proxy through app.config. I want 2 ip address to go through my proxy on my local computer. From what i can tell i need to set a proxy then set a bypass list. So i figure .* will match everything and i'll just remove the two i want. So i wrote the below and the 2 ip address (i realize the 2nd is a range) is being bypassed. Maybe i need to more the add to the end? the address are still being bypassed.   Our proxy went down and I tried to update dependencies with maven while it was off. Since then I can't download anything with maven. I get this error for everything. I tried -U option, deleting my local repository and tried different maven version (2.0.9, 2.2.1) but it doesn't work. Any idea how to solve this? Earlier it also said 'repository will be blacklisted' to all of them. • IIS7 Mixed Mode Authentication

  We're getting ready to start migrating some of our IIS6 sites to IIS7, and the application currently uses Forms Authentication. We have started getting some requests from various sites to use the Windows Authentication for the users. While this is easy enough to implement (and I've shown internally that there is no issue with the app, as expected) the question then is how to continue to keep Forms authentication for when Integrated Windows doesn't work. I've seen several walkthroughs on how to have it configured on IIS6, and I could do the same thing on IIS7, but then I have to turn on Classic Mode processing. Any solution should also be back portable to IIS6, if possible, to keep the build tree simple. So what are my options on this? Do I setup the app with Integrated Windows Authentication in IIS7, Forms Auth in the web.config, and redirect 401 errors to an "error page" allowing them to login using forms, then back to the regular app? The case when Forms is likely to be needed is going to be reserved for Contract workers, our support staff, and if someone needs to access it on their site from their Extranet. So primarily it's for our staff to login to check functionality and confirm bug reports. I suggested we just maintain that for our support staff to work, we need a Windows login that will always be live, and then we'll just enforce local responsibility on who can login to the site, but I'm told that we would do better to have Forms Authentication. Any thoughts? I can post some of the links of the articles I've already read through if that would help the forum better narrow my needs. Many thanks. tl;dr: How to do mixed mode authentication (forms, windows) in IIS7 without changing to classic pipeline and still be able to use the build in IIS6 if possible.

• Random DNS Client Issue with BIND9/Windows Server 2003 DNS

  Within our office, we have a local server running DNS, for internal related "domains", (e.g. .internal, .office, .lan, .vpn, etc.). Randomly, only the hosts configured with those extensions will stop resolving on the Windows-based workstations. Sometimes it'll work for a couple weeks without issue on one machine, then suddenly stop working, or it'll happen on another 15 times per day. It's completely random for all workstations. When troubleshooting, I have opened up a command prompt, and issued various nslookup commands for some of these hosts, and they resolve, however I've been told that nslookup uses different "libraries" for name resolution than other applications such as web browsers, email clients, etc. The only solution thus far, is manually restarting the Windows DNS Client on each workstation when this happens. Issuing the ipconfig /flushdns command multiple times helps every now and then, but is not successful enough to even attempt before restarting the DNS Client. I have tried two different DNS servers; BIND9, and Windows Server 2003 R2 DNS, and the behavior is the same. We have a single Netgear JGS524 switch all workstations and servers are connected to within the office, and a Linksys SR224G switch in another department with workstations attached.

• ObservableCollection is not updating Multibinding in C# WPF

  I have a TreeView that creates all its items from databound ObservableCollections. I have a hierarchy of GameNode objects, each object has two ObservableCollections. One collections has EntityAttrib objects and the other have GameNode objects. You could say that the GameNode object represents folders and EntityAttrib represents files. To display both attrib and GameNodes in the same TreeView I use Multibinding. This all works fine in startup, but when I add a new GameNode somewhere in the hierarchy the TreeView is not updated. I set a breakpoint in my converter method but it's not called when adding a new GameNode. It seems that the ObservableCollection is not notifying the MultiBinding of the change. If I comment out the MultiBinding and only bind the GameNode collection it works as expected.   I am on centos5. I installed python26 source with a make altinstall. Then I did a: yum install qt4 yum install qt4-devel yum install qt4-doc From riverbankcomputing.co.uk I downloaded the source for sip 4.10.2, compiled and installed fine. Then from the same site I downloaded and compiled from source PyQt-x11-4.7.3 Both installs were using the python26 version (/usr/local/bin/python2.6). So configure.py, make, and make install worked with no errors.   I'm trying to run an ASP.NET MVC 2 web application under IIS on Windows 7, but I get a 403.14 error. Here are the steps to reproduce: Open Visual Studio 2010 Create a new ASP.NET MVC 2 project called MvcApplication1 Shift+F5 to run the app. You should see http://localhost:{random_port}/ and the page will render correctly. Click on MvcApplication1, and select "Properties". Go to the "Web" section. Select "Use Local IIS Web server" and create a virtual directory. Save. Shift+F5 to run the app. You should see http://localhost/MvcApplication1/ and an IIS error HTTP Error 403.14 - Forbidden The Web server is configured to not list the contents of this directory.. It's clear that for whatever reason, ASP.NET routing is not working correctly. Things I've already thought of and tried: Verified that all IIS features are enabled in "Turn Windows features on or off". Verified that the default website is configured to use .NET 4.0 Reassigned ASP.NET v4 scripmaps via aspnet_regiis -i in the v4.0.30319 directory. Here's the most amazing part - this is on a just-built machine. New copy of Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, clean install of Visual Studio 2010 Premium, no other websites and no other work performed. • TF203015 The Item $/path/file has an incompatible pending change. While trying to unshelve.

  I'm using Visual Studio 2010 Pro against Team Server 2010 and I had my project opened (apparently) as a solution from the repo, but I should've opened it as "web site". I found this out during compile, so I went to shelve my new changes and deleted the project from my local disk, then opened the project again from source (this time as web site) and now I can't unshelve my files. Is there any way to work around this? Did I blow something up? Do I need to do maintenance at the server? I found this question on SO #2332685 but I don't know what cache files he's talking about (I'm on XP :\ ) EDIT: Found this link after posting the question, sorry for the delay in researching, still didn't fix my problem Of course I can't find an error code for TF203015 anywhere, so no resolution either (hence my inclusion of the number in the title, yeah?) EDIT: I should probably mention that these files were never checked in in the first place. Does that matter? Can you shelve an unchecked item? Is that what I did wrong? EDIT: WHAP - FOUND IT!!! Use "Undo" on the items that don't exist because they show up in pending changes as checkins.

• Adding array of images to Firebase using AngularFire

  I'm trying to allow users to upload images and then store the images, base64 encoded, in firebase. I'm trying to make my firebase structured as follows: |--Feed |----Feed Item |------username |------epic |---------name,etc. |------images |---------image1, image 2, etc. However, I can't get the remote data in firebase to mirror the local data in the client. When I print the array of images to the console in the client, it shows that the uploaded images have been added to the array of images...but these images never make it to firebase. I've tried doing this multiple ways to no avail. I tried using implicit syncing, explicit syncing, and a mixture of both. I can;t for the life of me figure out why this isn;t working and I'm getting pretty frustrated. • Testing movie with Flash IDE fails to load file from localhost

  Hi, I'm just wondering if anybody can help me with my simple but frustrating problem. I have created an SWF that loads an XML file from http://localhost/flash/Projects/MEL/Quiz/Quiz/bin/xml/quiz.xml, but I get this error when running the movie using Test Movie in the Flash IDE. Error #2044: Unhandled ioError:. text=Error #2032: Stream Error. URL: http://localhost/flash/Projects/MEL/Quiz/Quiz/bin/xml/quiz.xml at Main/loadConfig()[D:\www\webroot\flash\Projects\MEL\Quiz\Quiz\src\Main.as:126] at Main/configLoadError()[D:\www\webroot\flash\Projects\MEL\Quiz\Quiz\src\Main.as:143] at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEventFunction() at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEvent() at flash.net::URLLoader/onComplete() The error I get if I handle the exception is: [IOErrorEvent type="ioError" bubbles=false cancelable=false eventPhase=2 text="Error #2032: Stream Error. URL: http://localhost/flash/Projects/MEL/Quiz/Quiz/bin/xml/quiz.xml"] Trouble is running the SWF in a browser locally does work, it only throws these errors in the Flash IDE. I have tried a adding wildcard crossdomain.xml file in my root web directory and setting the SWF publish properties for local playback security to Allow network only, but neither of these have solved my problem. I know Windows 7 handles localhost name resolution differently compared to previous versions of Windows but I have even added 127.0.0.1 localhost to my hosts file to no avail. Can anyone shed any light on this issue?

• Problem adding namespaces to MSXML (using setProperty('SelectionNamespaces', ...))

  A while back, I asked a question regarding the usage of namespaces in MSXML. At first, I circumvented the whole thing with the XPath *[local-name()]-hack (see my previous post), but having a crisis of conscience I decided to do things the right way. (Doh!) Consider the following XML: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <Root xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.foo.bar mySchema.xsd" xmlns="http://www.foo.bar" xmlns:ds="http://www.w3.org/2000/09/xmldsig#" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"> <MyElement> </MyElement> </Root> When I try to add these namespaces using IXMLDOMDocument3.setProperty('SelectionNamespaces', NSString);, I get the following error: "SelectionNamespaces property value is invalid. Only well-formed xmlns attributes are allowed.". When removing the namespace xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.foo.bar mySchema.xsd", everything runs smoothly. What am I doing wrong here? Is there an error in the XML? Is MSXML to blame?

• TeamCity stopped working once I added NUnit to the mix

  I'm struggling a lot trying to get our build server going. I am currently running tests in a Windows XP virtual machine, and have installed TeamCity v5.0.3, build 10821. I am using NUnit v2.5.3. I finished the initial setup with TeamCity without any issues at all, provided that I use the sln2008 build runner that makes the entire process almost brainless. It's really quite nice that way, and very satisfying to see your first successful automated build. Now it's time to kick it up a notch and I wanted to get NUnit working. I keep the NUnit 2.5.3 assemblies in an external libs folder in SVN, so I checked that out onto the test system. I selected NUnit 2.5.3 from the build runner options, as the online instructions had recommended. But when I build, I get the following error: Window1.xaml.cs(14,7): error CS0246: The type or namespace name ‘NUnit’ could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) Window1.xaml.cs(28,10): error CS0246: The type or namespace name ‘Test’ could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) Window1.xaml.cs(28,10): error CS0246: The type or namespace name ‘TestAttribute’ could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) Everything compiles great in the IDE. From finding blog posts and submitting comments, I got some advice and confirmed the following: I have the HintPath value set properly in my project file (points to the external lib) I can also do a full Release and Debug build from the command line using msbuild I have tried do use the NUnit installer so nunit.framework.dll gets registered into the GAC I have changed the build agent's logon account to be a user on the test system, rather than LOCAL SYSTEM. Nothing seems to help... can anyone else here offer me some advice on what to try next?
