• ASP.NET permissions issues

  Im using Windows Server 2008, IIS7, .NET 4 and when I use the FileUpload control to save a file to a directory I get : Access to the path 'C:\xxx\Websites\CMS\Admin\test' is denied. I have given the test folder full control permissions for NETWORK SERVICE but it makes no difference. I have given full control to the Everyone user but makes no difference. It might have something to do with the fact that up in the CMS folder there is a MVC web application and in the CMS\Admin folder there is a web forms web application. It is the web forms web application that is trying to upload the file and getting the permissions error. Can anyone offer a suggestion.

• Catch/Raise event on table data update C#

  Hi, I have 24/7 service which keeps setup (configuration data) for charging, routing and etc in the Sql Server. Once it is started it loads the data from table using Linq2SQL and use the data through all the application. And we need a solution to update the setup data in the table without restarting the application. So I am interested is it possible to catch/determine that the table was updated so I can refresh the setup data in the application. I mean is it possible to have events which will raise when there is any delete, update or insert on the table. Thank you.

  I am testing the performance of a data streaming system that supports continuous queries. This is how it works: - There is a polling service which sends data to my system. - As data passes into the system, each query evaluates based on a window of the stream at the current time. - The window slides as data passes in. My problem is this, when I add more queries to the system, I should expect the throughput to decrease because it can't cope the data rate. However, I actually observe an increase in throughput. I can't understand why this is the case and I am guessing that it's something to do with the way the JVM allocates CPU, memory etc. Can anyone shed any light to my problem?

  I am using a vpn service from certain server. I was given with a root account, and when I connect with a root account, the command line looks like below. root@xa9g82:/etc/# Then I used useradd to add an account called 'temp' When I connected to the server with temp, then the command line only has a single character. $ The user information is not shown, neither the path. Also, note that, in root's command line I can use tab to automatically complete the filename, however 'temp's command line inserts tab space, when I press tab. It is very inconvenient. I am using Ubuntu 10.04. How can I resolve this issue?

  Hi all, I am calling a service which has the following annotation: @Transactional(rollbackFor=ExceptionA.class) public void myMethodA(....) throws ExceptionA { . . } I am calling this method from an other method in another Spring Bean. @Transactional(rollbackFor=ExceptionB.class) public void mainEntryPointMethod(....) throws ExceptionB { . try { myMethodA() } catch (ExceptionA exp) { . } . } My problem is that if myMethodA throws an exception, my transaction (which is passed from mainEntryPointMethod - myMethodA by default propagation) will be marked for rollback. Is there a way in which the 'rollbackFor' for the inner method can be overriden? Thanks in advance Chris

  Does anyone know of a library out there (preferably in C#) that will take classes and generate XML or flat files suitable for feeds to Amazon Marketplace Web Services?   Hi all, Im my current project we need to interface with sharepoint to store and retrieve various documents. This has previously been done by referencing the Microsoft.Sharepoint dlls directly and going from there. As I don't know a lot about sharepoint yet I have been doing some research. Most of the examples I find actually refer to using the Sharepoint web services themselves (the various vti_bin ones shown in http://www.sharepointmonitor.com/2007/01/sharepoint-web-service/). I cant seem to find the differences in approaches. This current project was written a few years ago so maybe the web services weren't available then? Cheers

If this is looking like a good candidate for the too-hard basket, perhaps you could suggest an alternative. I want to be able to parse Twitter messages for dates. The tweets I'd be looking at would be ones which users are directing at this service, so they could be coached into using an easier format, however I'd like it to be as transparent as possible. Is there a good middle ground you could think of?

  For the background: I'm developing a device application which offers connection to Google Drive. My end-users will need to login to their Google Account and authorize my application to access their Google Drive. I'm using OAuth 2.0 to do this. But my concern is that I don't want users to navigate away from my application using the links on the Google Login page. Basically, I don't want them to use my application to browse the internet. Question: Will I violate any terms of service/usage if I hide or change the href the links using GreaseMonkey or TamperMonkey? The changes will only be on the client side and I won't alter any processing at all. I already checked https://developers.google.com/terms/ but I found no item related to modifying the pages on client side. Thanks in advance.

  I am receiving data from a web service, and some of the strings have html entities in them, for example: {"prop": "htmlentity - é"} The &eacute; is not being parsed to é. My question is twofold: 1. Is this even supposed to happen? I looked through the JSON spec the best I could, but couldn't find any reference to html entities. 2. What is the right way to do this with a DataContractJsonSerializer, if there is a right way?

  I have a dropwizard project and I have maintained a config.yml file at the ROOT of the project (basically at the same level as pom.xml). Here I have specified the HTTP port to be used as follows: http: port:9090 adminPort:9091 I have the following code in my TestService.java file public class TestService extends Service<TestConfiguration> { @Override public void initialize(Bootstrap<TestConfiguration> bootstrap) { bootstrap.setName("test"); } @Override public void run(TestConfiguration config, Environment env) throws Exception { // initialize some resources here.. } public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception { new TestService().run(new String[] { "server" }); } } I expect the config.yml file to be used to determine the HTTP port. However the app always seems to start with the default ports 8080 and 8081. Also note that I am running this from eclipse. Any insights as to what am I doing wrong here ?

  My vendor offers a widget creation service where I can login to their page, set initial values of a search form, after the save button is clicked, I can copy & paste the script code on my website to display a product search result widget. I am thinking to change this static widget to a dynamic one. Since my programming knowledge is limited, can experts tell me if it's possible to login https remotely (using cURL) and set search form values equal to values on my page (every time my page content changes, it will change the form value), then save the form. So the widget script I pasted on my page will always be refreshed to new search result. So the issue will involve cross domain, form submission & server/browser communication. I know a little jQuery, PHP, Ajax, cURL but so far I stuck with just having an idea but not really sure how to implement it.

Can I remove the slash or replace it with a difference symbol? If this helps, I am using a server running Nginx and I will not switch to Apache. Thanks! Returns a few links (not specific to ZuckerReports) with tips similar to the following: * log4j.properties or log4j.xml needs to be on the classpath where log4j can find it. I cannot find a file with either of those names anywhere on my server, and yet the report can be run successfully on one of my SugarCRM installations. So I figure log4j must be being configured another way. Can anyone suggest a way to solve this problem? Or explain how I might discover how log4j is configured in ZuckerReports? Or explain how I might compare the working with the non-working installation in order to help find a solution? (I have tried searching for files containing "log4j" in both installations and comparing but all I can find are .jar files (nothing I can read with a text editor), and the .jar files found in each installation appear to be the same.)

• IIS 7 Authentication: Certain users can't authenticate, while almost all others can.

  I'm using IIS 7 Digest authentication to control access to a certain directory containing files. Users access the files through a department website from inside our network and outside. I've set NTFS permissions on the directory to allow a certain AD group to view the files. When I click a link to one of those files on the website I get prompted for a username and password. With most users everything works fine, but with a few of them it prompts for a password 3 times and then get: 401 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials. But other users that are in the group can get in without a problem. If I switch it over to Windows Authentication, then the trouble users can log in fine. That directory is also shared, and users that can't log in through the website are able to browse to the share and view files in it, so I know that the permissions are ok. • Creating static NAT blocks outbound traffic Cisco ASA

  Hi Everyone, I have two web servers sitting behind a Cisco ASA 5505, which I don't have much experience with. I'm trying to create two static NATs. One static NAT that goes to xx.xx.xx.150 and another that goes to xx.xx.xx.151. I've created the static NAT for the .150 web server and it works FINE. Incoming and outgoing traffic work great. This is the staging web server. I now need to duplicate the setup for the production web server. So, I connect the webserver to the firewall, change the public IP address on one of the NICs reboot the server and I have outbound internet access. Then I run the command: static (inside,outside) xx.xx.xx.150 192.168.1.x which is successful. I then run the command: access-list acl-outside permit tcp any host xx.xx.xx.150 eq 80 Which is successful. I then try to browse the internet and I get nothing. I try to telnet in through port 80 and I get nothing (though I'm guessing because the response to the telnet request is being blocked). I've tried this with the production web server and then I tried it with another web server that is for internal testing and have the exact same problem. Both work fine until I run the static NAT rule and then no outbound internet access. I have a feeling that it's something simple that I'm missing, but my limited experience with this device is killing me. Below I've pasted the current configuration. I'm currently trying to get this to work on the .153 server which is the internal testing server. • Failure connecting to Dell MD3200i from XenServer 6.2 pool

  This question also asked at Citrix Forums http://forums.citrix.com/thread.jspa?threadID=332289 I have a MD3200i that is currently working fine with my Xen5.6 pool, but I cannot get a connection to the new 6.2 pool to work. I previously had a problem with a 6.0 upgrade (which is why the old pool is still on 5.6), but rolled back rather than fix it as it wasn't urgent at the time. This install is on new machines - I tried 6.1 first (which had the same problems) then 6.2 was released the second day after installation so I switched to that. I've not installed anything from the Dell resource DVD at this point - I can't find anything saying I should, and everything I have read suggests it shouldn't be necessary. I can ping all 8 ip addresses from both servers in the pool, iscsiadm -m discovery works fine, I can login to the nodes and iscsiadm reports the sessions active correctly. I've added the required sections to multipath.conf, but multipath -ll reports DM multipath kernel driver not loaded immediately after boot.
