I followed everything described by the video and the post: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KY3V79t5tKA http://www.ubuntututorials.com/remote-desktop-ubuntu-12-04-windows-7/ However, I can establish a connection yet there is no display. What I get is only a screen with random background. I'm wondering anyone got a similar problem. Is it because of the v14.04? Thank you

    I have this problem after damage I think hit the OS GNU GRUB version 1.99-21ubuntu3 Minimal bash-like line editing is supported. For the first word, TAB lists possible command completions. Anywhere else TAB lists possible device or file completions. I read the thread that was posted before but I don't have an ubuntu cd because I used "windows installer" ..... please don't tell me to uninstall it and install it again because I have important files and I don't want to lose. please help

    I cannot seem to install the windows platform sdk when i have visual studio 2010 installed,i followed the error code the sdk was getting and it said i need to unistall the 2010 redistribute runtimes,i did that and it has still not fixed the problem,this is very anoying as i have tried different things and been at it for atleast 5 hours now,did anyone else get this problem and know a work around? This is the order i tried install vs 2010, remove redis runtimes, install platform sdk (failed), install redis x86/x64, install service pack 1 for vs Thanks

    Installed Ubuntu over a Windows8 trial. After installation, Windows8 still tries to boot. Wiped disk clean with Acronis and reinstall Ubuntu. Windows8 still tries to start, but goes to blank screen. Ubuntu never tries to boot. Naturally live mode works fine. What do you think of wiping disk again, install Windows7 and try using GRUB approach or do you know how to remove Windows from the cleaned disk?
