    I have the following code: Dim DumpXlApp As Excel.Application = New Excel.Application Dim DumpWkBk As Excel.Workbook DumpWkBk = System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.BindToMoniker(FilePath) DumpXlApp = DumpWkBk.Parent DumpXlApp.Visible = True I can't get the DumpWkBk workbook to become visible. Is the issue DumpXlApp = DumpWkBk.Parent line? I don't think it is the BindToMoniker line because I can do things with DumpWkBk.

  • eclipse + maven + tomcat debugging

    I'm developping a web application in Eclipse and I'm using maven, spring and tomcat. Now the problem I have is that debug as = debug on server doesn't work. I just get exceptions. (and yes I've created the server) If I use the mvn command to compile it, put the war in my tomcat webapps dir and start my tomcat the application works fine. But for the functionallity I'm now working on debugging would be usefull.

    Hi, I need to give my user a web interface to change the session timeout interval. So, each installation of the application might have different timeouts for their sessions, but they web.xml cannot be different. Is there a way to set the session timeout programatically, so that I could use, say, ServletContextListener.contextInitialized() to read the configured interval and set it upon application startup?     I am implementing a simple(hopefully) security manager within an application. Is it better to have predefined(static) roles, custom roles(dynamic)? I am leaning more towards dynamic groups or roles only because then it would not require a redeploy to update the system. Also, what would be the best approach to define resources in general? The application has a database that can hold either the static or dynamic values.

  • In C# ,how do I terminate a thread that has had its call stack corrupted?

    I have a thread in my application that is running code that can potentially cause call stack corruption ( my application is a testing tool for dlls ). Assuming that I have a method of detecting if the child thread is misbehaving, how would I terminate it? From what I read, calling Thread.Abort() on the misbehaving thread would be equivalent to raising an exception inside it.I fear that that not be a good idea, provided the call stack of the thread might be corrupted.Any suggestions?

However, the application checks every time it is run: the delay property seems to be ignored.     I was trying to fetch remote notification info when the app was not running,so I was told that I can get from : UILocalNotification *localNotification = [launchOptions objectForKey:UIApplicationLaunchOptionsRemoteNotificationKey] in method: - (BOOL)application:(UIApplication *)application didFinishLaunchingWithOptions:(NSDictionary *)launchOptions ,but still can't get info. Then I use alertView to show the info on iPhone(launch without Xcode),still can't get the info. Any other issue would cause this? Please let me know if you have any ideas.

    Right now I have four customized QDockWidgets on the left side of my application. When you start the application, each one is visible, but very small because of the visibility of each one. I would like for three of the QDockWidgets to nest behind one primary one to give that one priority and the entire left side of the screen.     I was hoping someone could explain why my application when loaded uses varying amounts of RAM. I'm speaking about a compiled version that uses the exe directly. It's a pretty basic applications and there are no conditional branches in the startup of the application. Yet every time I start it up the RAM amount varies from 6MB-16MB. I know it's on the small end of usage anyways but I'm curious of why this happens.
