  I have a list called hand and another one called deck, the main goal here is to take the first card (or element ) in the list deck and put it in the list hand when i call the fnction draw... I'm clueless is there a way like in O-Object to change the content of hand permenantly? and i initialy define hand empty because the player has no card to start. (define hand '())

• Web site aggregation with twitter widget SSL issue

  Hello! I'm seeking for solution how to isolate widget included by partial to main site. Issue appear when user access site with https. Ie 6,7 shows security confirmation dialog (part of website resources are not in secure zone). First of all I download twitter widget on our side, also I download all CSS and pictures. Then I patched widget JS to point onto downloaded resources. But still has not luck with security warning :( I guess the reason of this issue is AJAX request to twitter, but there is no idea how to sole it. (Just to create some kind of proxy on our side). • ASP.NET 32-bit machine compiled now trying to run on 64-bit machine

  I have an ASP.NET app that was compiled on a 32-bit machine. There are many different assemblies that are referenced. I opened the web site's main dll with ILDASM and looked at the .corflags. It stated it was ILONLY. However, when I run the web site locally on the 64-bit machine (Windows XP Pro 64-bit), I get "is not a valid Win32 applciation". Shouldn't the app run as 64-bit since it was compiled with "AnyCPU"? How can I get this to work? I am using .NET 3.5.

• Infopath - changing sql servers

  I have an InfoPath form which has sort of a master-detail pattern, with two tables in the underlying main datasource. I am trying to migrate this to a new SQL Server - same database, just moved from a SQL2005 machine to a SQL2008 machine. If I change the servername, it also wants me to change the database and tables. If I select the same database and master table, the bindings are maintains for the master table. But there doesn't appear to be a way to select multiple tables when you change the datasource, so you lose the detail bindings. Am I missing something - I'm pretty new to InfoPath.

  Hello again. I'm in the process of designing and testing various ideas for an application whose main functionality will be to notify users of occurring events and offer them with a choice of actions for each. The standard choice would be to create a queue of events showing a popup in the taskbar with the events and actions, but I want this tool to be the less intrusive and disrupting as possible. What I'm after is a good book or papers on studies of how to maximize user productivity in these intrinsically disruptive scenarios (in other words, how to achieve the perfect degree of annoying-ness, not too much, not too little). The user is supposedly interested in these events, they subscribe to them and can choose the actions to perform on each. I prefer books and papers, but the usual StackOverflow wisdom is appreciated as well. I'm after things like: Don't use popups, use instead X Show popups at most 3 seconds Show them in the left corner Use color X because it improves readability and disrupts less That is, cognitive aspects of GUI design that would help users in such a scenario.

  First a bit of background: I have a WPF application, which is a GUI-front-end to a legacy Win32-application. The legacy app runs as DLL in a separate thread. The commands the user chooses in the UI are invoked on that "legacy thread". If the "legacy thread" finishes, the GUI-front-end cannot do anything useful anymore, so I need to shutdown the WPF-application. Therefore, at the end of the thread's method, I call Application.Current.Shutdown(). Since I am not on the main thread, I need to invoke this command. However, then I noticed that the Dispatcher also has BeginInvokeShutdown() to shutdown the dispatcher. So my question is: What is the difference between invoking Application.Current.Shutdown(); and calling Application.Current.Dispatcher.BeginInvokeShutdown();

  While ASP.NET MVC seems to be a viable technology praised by a lot of developers, I can't seem to find enough reasons to devote my energy and time for it. The main reason is that I don't find enough .NET jobs asking for it. Companies still use WebForms and it works just fine for them. I am not self employed where I get to choose the technology I like. I would rather use my time improve my skills in SilverLight, JQuery, Javascript, SQL, LINQ.. etc. Even Photoshop! So I got interested in webformsmvp.com. I get to still use WebForms and use better testing methods. Anyone who has experience with it can tell me what they didn't like about it?

  §3.10 section 9 says "non-class rvalues always have cv-unqualified types". That made me wonder... int foo() { return 5; } const int bar() { return 5; } void pass_int(int&& i) { std::cout << "rvalue\n"; } void pass_int(const int&& i) { std::cout << "const rvalue\n"; } int main() { pass_int(foo()); // prints "rvalue" pass_int(bar()); // prints "const rvalue" } According to the standard, there is no such thing as a const rvalue for non-class types, yet bar() prefers to bind to const int&&. Is this a compiler bug? EDIT: Apparently, this is also a const rvalue :)

• How to set WCF threads to schedual differently

  Hi, I'm running a winservice that has 2 main objectives. Execute/Handle exposed webmethods. Run Inner processes that consume allot of CPU. The problem is that when I execute many inner processes |(as tasks) that are queued to the threadpool or taskpool, the execution of the webmethods takes much more time as WCF also queues its executions to the same threadpool. This even happens when setting the inner processes task priority to lowest and setting the webmethods thread priority to heights. I hoped that Framework 4.0 would improve this, and they have, but still it takes quite allot of time for the system to handle the WCF queued tasks if the CPU is handling other inner tasks. Is it possible to change the Threadpool that WCF uses to a different one? Is it possible to manually change the task queue (global task queue, local task queue). Is it possible to manually handle 2 task queues that behave differently ? Any help in the subject would be appropriated. Gilad.

  hi, i am very new in android development as well as in java. i had developed an application that gets an image url from a site and wanted to download it into the device and later on i would like to enable users to set it as wallpapers. however, i am met a problem when assigning onclick event to a button. Once i uncomment the line in red, it will pop up a box stating that the application was stopped unexpectedly.   I am developing a small application with images and trash box icon on right hand bottom. I have multiple images floating in the main window, and using mouse I can move image from one corner to other corner of window, left, right, top and bottom. I can't figure out how do I catch an event when a image touches and panel (with trash box image), in the right hand corner. Does anybody knows which event or handler to listen? This is not a drag and drop case since my images are floating so no point using drag and drop. Thank you

• How to change a UIBarButtonItem in a UINavigationBar

  I'm trying to set up a list of items that can be edited. I have a main view, with a UINavigationBar at the top and a UITableView directly under it. I'd like to have my "edit" button change to a "done" button on click, but I can't figure out how to do it. If I could do it in the code (not it interface builder), I could just replace it, but I can't even do that. I've seen some code using [self.navigationItem], but in my case self is a UIView. It also feels a bit odd to be using a UINavigationBar when I don't want navigation (this is one page only), but I want a toolbar with a title and and a button, so I don't think really have a choice.

  As I understood after reading the chapter related to The Linux Device Model in the Linux Device Drivers 3rd Edition, when a new device is configured, the kernel follows more or less this sequence: The Device is registered in the driver core (device_register(), what includes device initialization) A kobject is registered in the device model It provokes a hotplug event Bus and drivers are checked to see which one matches with the device Probe Device is binded to the driver My main doubt is, in step 1, when is device_register() called and what info should be yet in the device struct? Is it called by the bus to which the device is connected? Any example in the code? Have I misunderstood something? :)

• Maven jaxb2:xjc/jaxws:wsimport to be added in eclipse?

  I have a library I am creating based on some WSDL/XSD definitions. I am having a problem having the compiled classes added in the eclipse project. I can see that with a 'mvn compile' that the .class files are generated, as well as the .java files. The problem is that even though the .class files are generated, eclipse is still showing an error on the import statement "import com.whatever.SomeService_Service" that was generated by one of the plugins. I tried forcing the source to go into the project/src/main/java directory, but when the project is cleaned, it deletes files that I have created. Has anyone run into this before/found a way to get it to recognize that the class files are there? Thanks.

  Hi all, I'm creating a firefox add-on, and I have a situation where if someone clicks on a specific item in my toolbarbutton menupopup, I want to display some text to appear beside the mouse for a couple seconds. I don't mean mouseover text, because when they click on the item, the I close the menupopup. I mean something like what's shown at this site: http://www.kingsquare.nl/cursormessage The normal way of doing this would be with javascript and a div that would have the text I want to show. Unfortunately, I've discovered that the toolbarbutton can't have an effect on the main window, which is where I'd need to place the div to show. I've tried getting JQuery to work and haven't been successful either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

• Multiple MCs, Single Listener, AsBroadcaster

  I'm currently working trying to have multiple MCs inside a container MC which when they mini MCs are clicked will broadcast a message so that I can act upon them. This would be simple in AS 3 as it would be mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, obj); however, this is AS 2 and so I am semi-forced to use the broadcastMessage('myMessage'); and mc.addListener(obj); event handler. The main problem is that the broadcaster isn't broadcasting any messages. The second problem is that there are 5 MCs and when I click one of them, I get 5 trace messages about the click. I can't seem to keep the MC clicks unique even though they are all given separate instance names vie the properties panel. Any help would be appreciated.   My Delphi program relies heavily on Outlook automation. Outlook versions prior to 2007-SP2 tend to get stuck in memory due to badly written addins and badly written Outlook code. If Outlook is stuck, calling CreateOleObject('Outlook.Application') or GetActiveObject ... doesn't return and keeps my application hanging till Outlook.exe is closed in the task manager. I've thought of a solution, but I'm unsure whether it's good practice or not. I'd start Outlook with CreateOleObject in a separate thread, wait 10 seconds in my main thread and if Outlook hangs (CreateOleObject doesn't return), offer the user to kill the Outlook.exe process from my program. But since I don't want to force the user to kill the Outlook.exe proccess, as an alternative I also need a way to kill the new thread in my program which keeps hanging now. My questions are: a, Is this good practice b, How can I terminate a hanging thread in Delphi without leaking memory? Is there a way?
