• JQuery with css3 keydown keyCode = 37 and 39

  I have tested both ways. jquery animation and css3 transition, and css3 is a little bit faster. But i have a problem with the following code: $(document).keydown(function(e){ if (e.keyCode == 39) { var DocHeight = $(document).height(); $('.container').css("margin-top","-="+DocHeight) } }); if i hit twice on keyCode 39 (arrow to the right) than my transition is outer space. Does anyone has an solution for this thing? outer space maybe not the correct word. But the problem is. if i hit twice the arrow key i'll get the last request, in other words... animation is started, and another animation start from the position that i don't want. example: hit #1 margin-top is at 0px and goes to 1024px. but when i hit it twice the margin-top is at 23px, and it stops at 1047px. This is not what i want. It has to stop at 1024px. I hope so.

  According to Five Simple Database Design Errors You Should Avoid by Anith Sen, using a common-lookup table to store the possible statuses for an entity is a common mistake. Why is this wrong? I disagree that it's wrong, citing the example of jobs at a repair service with many possible statuses that generally have a natural flow, eg.: Booked In Assigned to Technician Diagnosing problem Waiting for Client Confirmation Repaired & Ready for Pickup Repaired & Couriered Irreparable & Ready for Pickup Quote Rejected Arguably, some of these statuses can be normalised to tables like Couriered Items, Completed Jobs and Quotes (with Pending/Accepted/Rejected statuses), but that feels like unnecessary schema complication. Another common example would be order statuses that restrict the status of an order, eg: Pending Completed Shipped Cancelled Refunded The status titles and descriptions are in one place for editing and are easy to scaffold as a drop-down with a foreign key for dynamic data applications. This has worked well for me in the past. If the business rules dictate the creation of a new order status, I can just add it to OrderStatus table, without rebuilding my code.

• ResXResourceWriter Chops off end of file

  I'm trying to create a .resx file from a dictionary of strings. Luckily the .Net framework has a ResXResourceWriter class. The only problem is that when I create the file using the code below, the last few lines of my generated resx file are missing. I checked my Dictionary and it contains all the string pairs that I expect. public void ExportToResx(Dictionary<string,string> resourceDictionary, string fileName) { var writer = new ResXResourceWriter(fileName); foreach (var resource in resourceDictionary) { writer.AddResource(resource.Key, resource.Value); } } Unfortunately, it is a little difficult to show the entire resx file since it has 2198 (should have 2222) lines but here is the last little bit: ... 2195 <data name="LangAlign_ReportIssue" xml:space="preserve"> 2196 <value>Report an Issue</value> 2197 </data> 2198 <data name="LangAlign_Return BTW, notice that the file cuts off right at the end of that "n" in "LangAlign_Return". The string should read "LangAlign_ReturnToWorkspace". The file should also end at line 2222.

• XSD: Different sub-elements depending on attribute/element value

  Another XSD question - how can I achieve that the following XML elements are both valid: <some-element> <type>1</type> <a>...</a> </some-element> <some-element> <type>2</type> <b>...</b> </some-element> The sub-elements (either <a> or <b>) should depend on the content of <type> (could also be an attribute). It would be so simple in RelaxNG - but RelaxNG doesn't support key integrity :( Is there a way to implement this in XSD? Note: XML schema version 1.1 supports <xs:alternative>, which might be a solution, but afaik no reference implementation (e.g. libxml2) supports this yet. So I'm searching for workarounds. The only way I've come up with is: <type>1</type> <some-element type="1"> <!-- simple <xs:choice> between <a> and <b> goes here --> <a>...</a> </some-element> <!-- and now create a keyref between <type> and @type -->

• ctrl+click or shift+click not always firing the onclick event

  Hi, I recently discovered that different browsers handle the onclick event differently when the control of shift key is pressed. Also; I'm wondering if the behaviour differs for each version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Opera. Finding a logical pattern in this behaviour would be even nicer, but I don't think there is :). • Send Special Keys to Gtk.VteTerminal

  Hi I have this OSS Project called Monocaffe connections manager which uses the Gtk.VteTerminal widget from PyGTK. A nice feature is that it allows the users to send commands to different servers' consoles (cluster mode) using a Gtk.TextView for the input. The way I send key strokes to each Gtk.VteTerminal is by using the feed_child method. For common keys there's no problem: I simply feed what the TextView receives to all the terminals, but when doing so with special keys I get into a little trouble. For "Return" I catch the event and feed the terminal a '\n'. For back-space is the same, catch the event and feed a '\b'. def cluster_backspace(self, widget): return self.cluster_send_key('\b') The problem comes with other keys like Tab, Arrows, Esc which I don't know how to feed as str to the terminal to recognize them. In the case of Esc is a real pain, because the users can edit the same file on different servers using vi, but cannot escape insert mode. Anyway, I'm not looking for a complete solution, just ideas since I've ran out of them. Thanks.

• WPF - Extend ListView with checkable AND selectable ListViewItems

  Hi there. I already read many examples on extending ListViews with checkboxes bound with IsSelected. But I want something more. I want a seperation between the checked and selected state, so i get a ListBox that has a single selected item, but can have multiple checked items. Unfortunately ListViewItem does not have a property for checked and I dont see a possibility to get the ListView to work with a custom CheckableListViewItem. Of course i could use a List of objects with a checked property as ItemSource, but I dont think thats a good way to go. Checked or not is a matter of the list or item-container, not of the object listed in it. Beside that I dont want all my classes like user, role, group to have counterparts like checkableUser, checkableRole and checkableGroup. The behaviour i want can be easyly accomblished for the UI with a <DataTemplate x:Key="CheckBoxCell"> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal"> <CheckBox /> </StackPanel> </DataTemplate> and a <GridViewColumn CellTemplate="{StaticResource CheckBoxCell}" Width="30"/> But without a binding on the checkbox i cant check if it is checked or not. Is there any way to accomplish something like that? The perfect solution for me would be to have listView1.SelectedItem, listView1.CheckedItems and maybe a listView1.UncheckedItems and of course listView1.CheckItem and listView1.UncheckItem. • Formating a table date field from the Model in Codeigniter

  Hi, I', trying to re-format a date from a table in Codeigniter. The Controller is for a blog. I was succesfull when the date conversion happens in the View. I was hoping to convert the date in the Model to have things in order. Here's the date conversion as it happens in the View.   I have an object called MyItem that references children in the same item. How do I set up an nhibernate mapping file to store this item. public class MyItem { public virtual string Id {get;set;} public virtual string Name {get;set;} public virtual string Version {get;set;} public virtual IList<MyItem> Children {get;set;} } So roughly the hbm.xml would be: <class name="MyItem" table="tb_myitem"> <id name="Id" column="id" type="String" length="32"> <generator class="uuid.hex" /> </id> <property name="Name" column="name" /> <property name="Version" column="version" /> <bag name="Children" cascade="all-delete-orphan" lazy="false"> <key column="children_id" /> <one-to-many class="MyItem" not-found="ignore"/> </bag> </class> This wouldn't work I don't think. Perhaps I need to create another class, say MyItemChildren and use that as the Children member and then do the mapping in that class? This would mean having two tables. One table holds the MyItem and the other table holds references from my item. NOTE: A child item could have many parents.

  I want to use a slightly customized rememberme functionality with spring security (3.1.0). I declare the rememberme tag like this: <security:remember-me key="JNJRMBM" user-service-ref="gymUserDetailService" /> As I have my own rememberme service I need to inject that into the RememberMeAuthenticationFilter which I define like this: <bean id="rememberMeFilter" class="org.springframework.security.web.authentication.rememberme.RememberMeAuthenticationFilter"> <property name="rememberMeServices" ref="gymRememberMeService"/> <property name="authenticationManager" ref="authenticationManager" /> </bean> I have spring security integrated in a standard way in my web.xml: <filter-name>springSecurityFilterChain</filter-name> <filter-class>org.springframework.web.filter.DelegatingFilterProxy</filter-class> Everything works fine, except that the RememberMeAuthenticationFilter uses the standard RememberMeService, so I think that my defined RememberMeAuthenticationFilter is not being used. How can I make sure that my definition of the filter is being used? Do I need to create a custom filterchain? And if so, how can I see my current "implicit" filterchain and make sure I use the same one except my RememberMeAuthenticationFilter instead of the default one? • RegQueryValueEx not working with a Release version but working fine with Debug

  Hi. I'm trying to read some ODBC details form a registry and for that I use RegQueryValueEx. The problem is when I compile the release version it simply cannot read any registry values. Is there some other way? I use Visual Studio 2005. Maybe it's a bug in VS? Almost forgot - the error code is 2 (as the key wouldn't be found).

For now my issue is concerned with three columns of the table. First is : Area Code Second is : Zone Code Third is: Value The relationship between these three is: 1 Area Code has 6 different Zone code's and all those 6 Zone codes have corresponding "Value" I need a data structer that would give me the flexibility to get a "Value" for a Zone code, which falls under a particular Area code. I have the same zone codes for all the Area codes: Zone codes are: 111, 222, 333, 444, 555, 666 After surfing your stackoverflow, I thought I can go with this structure: Map<Integer, Map<Integer, Double>> retailPrices = new HashMap<Integer, Map<Integer, Double>>(); Map<Integer, Double> codes = new HashMap<Integer, Double>(); where reatailPrices would hold an Area Code and a Map of Zone code as Key and "Value" as Value. but when I am trying to populate this through a SQL resultset, I am getting the following error: The method put(Integer, Map<Integer,Double>) in the type Map is not applicable for the arguments (Integer, Double) on line: `while(oResult.next()) retailPrices.put((new Integer(oResult.getString("AREA"))), (pegPlPrices.put(new Integer(oResult.getString("ZONE_CODE")), new Double(oResult.getString("VALUE"))))); }` please help me figure out this problem. Am I following the right approach?

• In Rails, a Sweeper isn't getting called in a Model-only setup

  I'm working on a Rails app, where I'm using page caching to store static html output. The caching works fine. I'm having trouble expiring the caches, though. I believe my problem is, in part, because I'm not expiring the cache from my controller. All of the actions necessary for this are being handled within the model. This seems like it should be doable, but all of the references to Model-based cache expiration that I'm finding seem to be out of date, or are otherwise not working. In my environment.rb file, I'm calling config.load_paths += %W( #{RAILS_ROOT}/app/sweepers ) And I have, in the /sweepers folder, a LinkSweeper file: class LinkSweeper < ActionController::Caching::Sweeper observe Link def after_update(link) clear_links_cache(link) end def clear_links_cache(link) # expire_page :controller => 'links', :action => 'show', :md5 => link.md5 expire_page '/l/'+ link.md5 + '.html' end end So ... why isn't it deleting the cached page when I update the model? (Process: using script/console, I'm selecting items from the database and saving them, but their corresponding pages aren't deleting from the cache), and I'm also calling the specific method in the Link model that would normally invoke the sweeper. Neither works. If it matters, the cached file is an md5 hash off a key value in the Links table. The cached page is getting stored as something like /l/45ed4aade64d427...99919cba2bd90f.html. Essentially, it seems as though the Sweeper isn't actually observing the Link. I also read (here) that it might be possible to simply add the sweeper to config.active_record.observers in environment.rb, but that didn't seem to do it (and I wasn't sure if the load_path of app/sweepers in environment.rb obviated that).

  I'm working on a mysql query in a Drupal database that pulls together users and two different cck content types. I know people ask for help with groupwise maximum queries all the time... I've done my best but I need help. This is what I have so far: # the artists SELECT users.uid, users.name AS username, n1.title AS artist_name FROM users LEFT JOIN users_roles ur ON users.uid=ur.uid INNER JOIN role r ON ur.rid=r.rid AND r.name='artist' LEFT JOIN node n1 ON n1.uid = users.uid AND n1.type = 'submission' WHERE users.status = 1 ORDER BY users.name; This gives me data that looks like: uid username artist_name 1 foo Joe the Plumber 2 bar Jane Doe 3 baz The Tooth Fairy Also, I've got this query: # artwork SELECT n.nid, n.uid, a.field_order_value FROM node n LEFT JOIN content_type_artwork a ON n.nid = a.nid WHERE n.type = 'artwork' ORDER BY n.uid, a.field_order_value; Which gives me data like this: nid uid field_order_value 1 1 1 2 1 3 3 1 2 4 2 NULL 5 3 1 6 3 1 Additional relevant info: nid is the primary key for an Artwork every Artist has one or more Artworks valid data for field_order_value is NULL, 1, 2, 3, or 4 field_order_value is not necessarily unique per Artist - an Artist could have 4 Artworks all with field_order_value = 1. What I want is the row with the minimum field_order_value from my second query joined with the artist information from the first query. In cases where the field_order_value is not valuable information (either because the Artist has used duplicate values among their Artworks or left that field NULL), I would like the row with the minimum nid from the second query.

• FMOD Compiling trouble

  I'm trying to get started with FMOD but I'm having some issues compiling the example code in this tutorial: http://www.gamedev.net/reference/articles/article2098.asp I'm using MinGW, I placed the libfmodex.a file in MinGW's include folder (I also tried linking directly to the filename) but it doesn't work. Here's the output. • What is the difference between .get() and .fetch(1)

  I have written an app and part of it is uses a URL parser to get certain data in a ReST type manner. So if you put /foo/bar as the path it will find all the bar items and if you put /foo it will return all items below foo So my app has a query like data = Paths.all().filter('path =', self.request.path).get() Which works brilliantly. Now I want to send this to the UI using templates {% for datum in data %} <div class="content"> <h2>{{ datum.title }}</h2> {{ datum.content }} </div> {% endfor %} When I do this I get data is not iterable error. So I updated the Django to {% for datum in data.all %} which now appears to pull more data than I was giving it somehow. It shows all data in the datastore which is not ideal. So I removed the .all from the Django and changed the datastore query to data = Paths.all().filter('path =', self.request.path).fetch(1) which now works as I intended. In the documentation it says The db.get() function fetches an entity from the datastore for a Key (or list of Keys). So my question is why can I iterate over a query when it returns with fetch() but can't with get(). Where has my understanding gone wrong?

On both I'm getting the SharedPreferences using MODE_PRIVATE (if it matters) by sp = getPreferences(MODE_PRIVATE); on each activity's onCreate() I'm calling sp.getBoolean(IntroActivity.SHOW_INTRO, true) On the IntroActivity this works fine.   I want to load to new AppDomin some assembly which has a complex references tree (MyDll.dll - Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.dll - Microsoft.Vbe.Interop.dll - Office.dll - stdole.dll) As far as I understood, when an assembly is been loaded to AppDomain, it's references would not be loaded automatically, and I have to load them manually. • What, if any, printable character did a user type based on the values in a given System.Windows.Form

  As a workaround for a problem, I think I have to handle KeyDown events to get the printable character the user actually typed. KeyDown supplies me with a KeyEventArgs object with the properities KeyCode, KeyData, KeyValue, Modifiers, Alt, Shift, Control. My first attempt was just to consider the KeyCode to be the ascii code, but KeyCode on my keyboard is 46, a period ("."), so I end up printing a period when the user types the delete key. So, I know my logic is inadequate. (For those who are curious, the problem is that I have my own combobox in a DataGridView's control collection and somehow SOME characters I type don't produce the KeyPress and TextChanged ComboBox events. These letters include Q, $, %.... This code will reproduce the problem. Generate a Form App and replace the ctor with this code. • string auto splitting in each loop - jquery

  I have the following jquery code that is looping through the returned json data, for some reason is it splitting the suburb by a space when being assigned as the value but not as the text, I cannot work out why this is happening. • My project is no longer used - how should I feel?

  For the last two years I have been developing and supporting an important project for a big customer. The project included mining data from the customer's existing systems, processing, and displaying and updating in the customer's public home page. The project was defined as crucial by the customer and I was payed good money and flown at the customer's expense to meet key employees. Some months ago, when the project was finished and in maintainance mode, I informed the customer that I am no longer interested in doing it as I had a new opportunity that would not be compatible with my existing customer. I was payed to train one of their employees, flown to meet him, make sure everything works and that he can be safely left in charge of the project. We finished in good terms after I complied with all my obligations and they payed me all they owed me. Some days ago, just out of curiosity, I entered to their website to see how the data continues to be updated and much to my dismay I discovered that the day after my contract was finished my system was "turned off" and it ceased to feed data to the public website. Let's put it clear, there is no issue of money or broken contract here. They are in they full right to do whatever they want with my software. But it is an issue of broken "programmer's ego". Should I feel bad about it (I do). Should I care and check out with my customer if they need some help? Or is it none of my matters?
