  • The frame buffer layout of the current display cannot be made to match...

    - by adambox
    I get this error when I have VM running in VMWare Workstation on my work PC and try Remote Desktop-ing in from my iMac at home. I just upgraded VMWare Workstation to 7.0 from 6.0 and now I'm getting it when I try to resume my VM at work. It then asks me the scary question of whether I want to preserve or discard the suspended state. I don't want to lose stuff! ack! Update I backed up my VM and tried hitting that "discard" button and the result was a reboot of the VM. I then tried restoring to a snapshot, and none of my snapshots work! Is there anyway to fix this so I can run 7 but still have my old snapshots? The frame buffer layout of the current display cannot be made to match the frame buffer layout stored in the snapshot. The dimensions of the frame buffer in the snapshot are: Max width 3200, Max height 1770, Max size 22659072. The dimensions of the frame buffer on the current display are: Max width 3200, Max height 1600, Max size 20512768. Error encountered while trying to restore the virtual machine state from file "C:\Documents and Settings\adam\My Documents\My Virtual Machines\dev\Windows XP Professional.vmss". What do I do so I don't break things horribly?

  • embedding layout inside each tab? - (each tab has its own activity)

    - by Abhi
    I have started with the HelloTabwidget example and it works fine. Now what I am trying to do is have a layout inside each tab. here is what the code looks like myApp extends TabActivity { TabHost tabHost; onCreate() { setContentView (R.layout.main); tabHost = getTabHost(); TabHost.tabspec spec = tabHost.newTabSpec(..).setIndicator(...). setContent(new Intent().setClass(...)); tabHost.addTab(spec); : } } myTab1Actvity extends Activity { ListView myLV; EditText myET; onCreate() { setcontentView (TAB1_LAYOUT); myLV = findViewById(..); : myLV.setAdapter(aa); myET.setOnKeyListener(....) registerforContextMenu(myLV) } } when I run here is the stack trace ERROR/AndroidRuntime(691): java.lang.NullPointerException ERROR/AndroidRuntime(691): at android.widget.TabHost.dispatchWindowFocusChanged(TabHost.java:295) ERROR/AndroidRuntime(691): at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchWindowFocusChanged(ViewGroup.java:661) ERROR/AndroidRuntime(691): at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchWindowFocusChanged(ViewGroup.java:661) ERROR/AndroidRuntime(691): at android.widget.TabHost.dispatchWindowFocusChanged(TabHost.java:295) ERROR/AndroidRuntime(691): at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchWindowFocusChanged(ViewGroup.java:661) ERROR/AndroidRuntime(691): at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchWindowFocusChanged(ViewGroup.java:661) ERROR/AndroidRuntime(691): at android.view.ViewGroup.dispatchWindowFocusChanged(ViewGroup.java:661) ERROR/AndroidRuntime(691): at android.view.ViewRoot.handleMessage(ViewRoot.java:1819) ERROR/AndroidRuntime(691): at android.os.Handler.dispatchMessage(Handler.java:99) ERROR/AndroidRuntime(691): at android.os.Looper.loop(Looper.java:123) ERROR/AndroidRuntime(691): at android.app.ActivityThread.main(ActivityThread.java:4363) ERROR/AndroidRuntime(691): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invokeNative(Native Method) ERROR/AndroidRuntime(691): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:521) ERROR/AndroidRuntime(691): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit$MethodAndArgsCaller.run(ZygoteInit.java:860) ERROR/AndroidRuntime(691): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit.main(ZygoteInit.java:618) Does the code's flow look OK? basically each Tab has its own activity and each tab has its own layout. It appears that something is wrong in the TabHost - but I am unable to pinpoint it. Any suggestions/Qs you hav e will be very helpful.

  • In Sharepoint I need to include a preview image for the screen of selecting layout for a new page.

    - by netadictos
    In Sharepoint 2007, I have created a layout. As you know when the user creates a page he chooses a layout from a listbox. When you select a different element in the listbox, there is a preview image that changes on the left. I thought this was controlled by the node PublishingPreviewImage in the xml of the layout. I have verified that the image exists in that place. It is not working. The code I use is: <File Path="TituloTextoCtrl.aspx" Url="TituloTextoCtrl.aspx" Type="GhostableInLibrary" IgnoreIfAlreadyExists ="TRUE"> <Property Name="PublishingPreviewImage" Value="~SiteCollection/_catalogs/masterpage/$Resources:core,Culture;/Preview Images/titulotextoctrl.png, ~SiteCollection/_catalogs/masterpage/$Resources:core,Culture;/Preview Images/titulotextoctrl.png" /> <Property Name="MasterPageDescription" Value="Plantilla Titulo+Texto+Control" /> <Property Name="ContentType" Value="Titulo+Texto+Control" /> <Property Name="PublishingAssociatedContentType" Value=";#Vialibre_ContentTypeGeneral;#0x010100C568DB52D9D0A14D9B2FDCC96666E9F2007948130EC3DB064584E219954237AF39005215cca003b74e479baa123eb1dc5702;#" /> </File>

  • does log4net AdoNetAppender support sql server 2008?

    - by schrodinger's code
    my config file below: very strange, i have spent a day to find out where i am wrong, but still not working, it still not log anything in the database,but i can output them using RollingFileAppender. Also, the store procedure WriteLog is working well.(I have tested it using sql server studio). I have tried to change the connectionType but not working. Unfortunately I dont have sql server 2000/2005 to test, my log4net version should be the latest one: log4net 1.2.10. • Programmatically controlling a Dojo Accordion

    - by prule
    I have a dijit.layout.AccordionContainer on my page which is defined in the html and created when dojo parses the page on load. Then, as the user interacts with the page I use Ajax to retrieve data and programmatically populate the container (removing existing items first). To illustrate my issue simply, here is some code that doesn't work: function doit() { var accordion = dijit.byId("accordionShell"); accordion.getChildren().each(function(item) { accordion.removeChild(item); }); for (i = 1; i < 5; i++) { var d = new dijit.layout.AccordionPane({title:'hello', content:'world'}); accordion.addChild(d); } } This fails, because only the first item in the accordian is visible. I think the others actually exist, but they are not visible so you can't do anything. I've managed to get around it by: Always ensuring there is 1 item in the accordian (so I never remove the first child) Call accordian.layout() after changing the contents So, this code "works" as long as you always want to see the first item, and don't actually expand any but the first one: function doit() { var accordion = dijit.byId("accordionShell"); var i = 0; accordion.getChildren().each(function(item) { if (i > 0) accordion.removeChild(item); i++; }); for (i = 1; i < 5; i++) { var d = new dijit.layout.AccordionPane({title:'hello', content:'world'}); accordion.addChild(d); } accordion.layout(); } I am using Dojo 1.2.0 - Anyone know what I am doing wrong?

  • Dojo - How to position tooltip close to text?

    - by user244394
    Like the title says i want to be able to display the tooltip close to the text, currently it is displayed far away in the cell. Tobe noted the tooltip positions correctly for large text, only fails for small text. In DOJO How can i position the tooltip close to the text? I have this bit of code snippet that display the tooltip in the grid cells. • back button android

    - by Raogrimm
    i am having trouble implementing the back button properly. all of the code snippets i have seen have not worked for me. what i am trying to do when i press the back button is just go back to the previous list. pretty much i have a list within a list and i just want it to go back to the previous list. how would i go about doing this? this is the list i have, every item has a separate list that it has. lets say you click on weapons, you then get a list of different weapon types and so on final String[] weapons = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.weapons); setListAdapter(new ArrayAdapter<String>(ffxidirectory.this, R.layout.list_item, weapons)); lv.setOnItemClickListener(new OnItemClickListener() { public void onItemClick(AdapterView<?> parent, View view, int position, long id) { System.out.println("item clicked: "+weapons[position]); switch(position) { case 0: final String[] axes = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.axes); setListAdapter(new ArrayAdapter<String>(ffxidirectory.this, R.layout.list_item, axes)); break; case 1: final String[] clubs = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.clubs); setListAdapter(new ArrayAdapter<String>(ffxidirectory.this, R.layout.list_item, clubs)); break; case 2: final String[] daggers = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.daggers); setListAdapter(new ArrayAdapter<String>(ffxidirectory.this, R.layout.list_item, daggers)); break; case 3: final String[] great_axes = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.great_axes); setListAdapter(new ArrayAdapter<String>(ffxidirectory.this, R.layout.list_item, great_axes)); break; case 4: final String[] great_katana = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.great_katana); setListAdapter(new ArrayAdapter<String>(ffxidirectory.this, R.layout.list_item, great_katana)); break; case 5: final String[] great_swords = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.great_swords); setListAdapter(new ArrayAdapter<String>(ffxidirectory.this, R.layout.list_item, great_swords)); break; case 6: final String[] hand_to_hand = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.hand_to_hand); setListAdapter(new ArrayAdapter<String>(ffxidirectory.this, R.layout.list_item, hand_to_hand)); break; case 7: final String[] katana = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.katana); setListAdapter(new ArrayAdapter<String>(ffxidirectory.this, R.layout.list_item, katana)); break; case 8: final String[] polearms = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.polearms); setListAdapter(new ArrayAdapter<String>(ffxidirectory.this, R.layout.list_item, polearms)); break; case 9: final String[] scythes = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.scythes); setListAdapter(new ArrayAdapter<String>(ffxidirectory.this, R.layout.list_item, scythes)); break; case 10: final String[] staves = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.staves); setListAdapter(new ArrayAdapter<String>(ffxidirectory.this, R.layout.list_item, staves)); break; case 11: final String[] swords = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.swords); setListAdapter(new ArrayAdapter<String>(ffxidirectory.this, R.layout.list_item, swords)); break; } } });

I found an applescript that does this with finder windows only: http://hubionmac.com/wordpress/2008/09/finder-fenster-position-und-layout-speichern/ (german) Maybe I could adept it, but I can't believe there's no application for this.

  • How can I use the Chinese IME with a Dvorak layout?

    - by 280Z28
    I use a Dvorak keyboard layout, controlled through the language bar "United States-Dvorak". I'm trying to use the Chinese IME (Simplified, Pinyin), but whenever I switch to that mode, the keys go back to QWERTY, so I can't type... Note: The OS is Windows 7, which has the new Pinyin IME. Edit: I wish I could put my SO rep up for a bounty here. :\ I guess 100 has to do for now.

  • Creating a GTK theme, but Qt and Java apps are not affected, and title bar button layout is ugly

    - by Mr. Pixel
    I'm playing with a gtk2 / gtk3 theme which I use in the Mate desktop. Everything is looking well, even gtk3 apps, but I still have 3 important issues: Java apps ignore the theme QT apps ignore the theme I'm using those nice ubuntu 10 title bar buttons, but the problem is, when only the close button appears, the title bar looks ugly. Can I make it so that it shows the two other buttons, but disabled? I don't know how Ubuntu 10 handled this. Here's a screenshot showing the 3 problems (above is a small java app, below is a Qt app): Under my previous desktop environments, Unity and Cinnamon, both apps seemed to be taking the right theme correctly, but I did not use my custom theme yet. Cinnamon is based on gnome-shell by the way, and mate is a gnome2-fork. Please note that the shown java app explicitely tries to load the gtk theme at runtime. By default, java apps don't, but this one has the necessary code, which worked in unity and cinnamon. Any suggestions how I could make my theme better so these problems disappear? Thank you very much!

  • 3 column layout with css display table, with first row having multiple rows?

    - by Damainman
    I am working on a new website which: Has 3 columns - Each Column being a cell First column has 3 rows (Logo, Nav, icons) - Has a Div with display: table which wraps arround 3 divs with display:table-row. Other two columns only have 1 row. With the middle column being the content area. However since this is my first time using display:table, I am running into some things that aren't so clear to me. I was trying to avoid floating divs. If I need multiple rows with one cell in each row per column, do I embed each cell in a row or just create each row and not declare cells. I understand that browsers automatically create the missing elements but I want to make sure I do this properly to avoid any side effects that might occur due to the browser automatically creating the missing elements. Edit: I think my brain is just over worked, I guess I can accomplish this by just using 3 divs in the first column instead of using a nested table div with the rows. This just popped into my head.

  • Custom android preference type loses focus when typing

    - by Brian
    I created a simple preference class that shows an AutoCompleteTextView control and it displays properly but when i focus on the AutoCompleteTextView and start typing it brings up the keyboard but then immediately loses focus on the control. Any idea why this loses focus? Here's what i did to create the view. the inflated layout is just a basic linear layout with a title textview in it. I could change it to a dialog preference instead I guess but it'd be smoother if it could be part of the base view. @Override protected View onCreateView(ViewGroup parent) { LayoutInflater inflater = (LayoutInflater) getContext().getSystemService(Context.LAYOUT_INFLATER_SERVICE); LinearLayout layout = (LinearLayout) inflater.inflate(R.layout.base_preference, null); if (mHint != null) { TextView hintView = (TextView) layout.findViewById(R.id.PreferenceHintTextView); hintView.setText(mHint); } TextView titleView = (TextView) layout.findViewById(R.id.PreferenceTitleTextView); titleView.setText(getTitle()); AutoCompleteTextView inputView = new AutoCompleteTextView(getContext()); inputView.setGravity(Gravity.FILL_HORIZONTAL); ArrayAdapter<CharSequence> adapter = new ArrayAdapter<CharSequence>(getContext(), R.layout.auto_complete_text_list_item, getEntries()); inputView.setAdapter(adapter); inputView.setThreshold(1); inputView.setOnItemSelectedListener(this); layout.addView(inputView); return layout; }

    There is a (not so) particular kind of shape in Orchard: zones. Functionally, zones are places where other shapes can render. There are top-level zones, the ones defined on Layout, where widgets typically go, and there are local zones that can be defined anywhere. These local zones are what you target in placement.info. Creating a zone is easy because it really is just an empty shape. Most themes include a helper for it: Func<dynamic, dynamic> Zone = x => Display(x); .csharpcode, .csharpcode pre { font-size: small; color: black; font-family: consolas, "Courier New", courier, monospace; background-color: #ffffff; /*white-space: pre;*/ } .csharpcode pre { margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .rem { color: #008000; } .csharpcode .kwrd { color: #0000ff; } .csharpcode .str { color: #006080; } .csharpcode .op { color: #0000c0; } .csharpcode .preproc { color: #cc6633; } .csharpcode .asp { background-color: #ffff00; } .csharpcode .html { color: #800000; } .csharpcode .attr { color: #ff0000; } .csharpcode .alt { background-color: #f4f4f4; width: 100%; margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .lnum { color: #606060; } With this helper, you can create a zone by simply writing: @Zone(Model.Header) .csharpcode, .csharpcode pre { font-size: small; color: black; font-family: consolas, "Courier New", courier, monospace; background-color: #ffffff; /*white-space: pre;*/ } .csharpcode pre { margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .rem { color: #008000; } .csharpcode .kwrd { color: #0000ff; } .csharpcode .str { color: #006080; } .csharpcode .op { color: #0000c0; } .csharpcode .preproc { color: #cc6633; } .csharpcode .asp { background-color: #ffff00; } .csharpcode .html { color: #800000; } .csharpcode .attr { color: #ff0000; } .csharpcode .alt { background-color: #f4f4f4; width: 100%; margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .lnum { color: #606060; } Let's deconstruct what's happening here with that weird Lambda. In the Layout template where we are working, the Model is the Layout shape itself, so Model.Header is really creating a new Header shape under Layout, or getting a reference to it if it already exists. The Zone function is then called on that object, which is equivalent to calling Display. In other words, you could have just written the following to get the exact same effect: @Display(Model.Header) The Zone helper function only exists to make the intent very explicit. Now here's something interesting: while this works in the Layout template, you can also make it work from any deeper-nested template and still create top-level zones. The difference is that wherever you are, Model is not the layout anymore so you need to access it in a different way: @Display(WorkContext.Layout.Header) This is still doing the exact same thing as above. One thing to know is that for top-level zones to be usable from the widget editing UI, you need one more thing, which is to specify it in the theme's manifest: Name: Contoso Author: The Orchard Team Description: A subtle and simple CMS themeVersion: 1.1 Tags: business, cms, modern, simple, subtle, product, service Website: http://www.orchardproject.net Zones: Header, Navigation, HomeFeaturedImage, HomeFeaturedHeadline, Messages, Content, ContentAside, TripelFirst, TripelSecond, TripelThird, Footer Local zones are just ordinary shapes like global zones, the only difference being that they are created on a deeper shape than layout. For example, in Content.cshtml, you can find our good old code fro creating a header zone: @Display(Model.Header) The difference here is that Model is no longer the Layout shape, so that zone will be local. The name of that local zone is what you specify in placement.info, for example: <Place Parts_Common_Metadata_Summary="Header:1"/> Now here's the really interesting part: zones do not even know that they are zones, and in fact any shape can be substituted. That means that if you want to add new shapes to the shape that some part has been emitting from its driver for example, you can absolutely do that. And because zones are so barebones as shapes go, they can be created the first time they are accessed. This is what enables us to add shapes into a zone before the code that you would think creates it has even run. For example, in the Layout.cshtml template in TheThemeMachine, the BadgeOfHonor shape is being injected into the Footer zone on line 47, even though that zone will really be "created" on line 168.

  • Any tool(s) for knowing the layout (segments) of running process in Windows?

    - by claws
    I've always been curious about How exactly the process looks in memory? What are the different segments(parts) in it? How exactly will be the program (on the disk) & process (in the memory) are related? My previous question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1966920/more-info-on-memory-layout-of-an-executable-program-process In my quest, I finally found a answer. I found this excellent article that cleared most of my queries: http://www.linuxforums.org/articles/understanding-elf-using-readelf-and-objdump_125.html In the above article, author shows how to get different segments of the process (LINUX) & he compares it with its corresponding ELF file. I'm quoting this section here: Courious to see the real layout of process segment? We can use /proc//maps file to reveal it. is the PID of the process we want to observe. Before we move on, we have a small problem here. Our test program runs so fast that it ends before we can even dump the related /proc entry. I use gdb to solve this. You can use another trick such as inserting sleep() before it calls return(). In a console (or a terminal emulator such as xterm) do: $ gdb test (gdb) b main Breakpoint 1 at 0x8048376 (gdb) r Breakpoint 1, 0x08048376 in main () Hold right here, open another console and find out the PID of program "test". If you want the quick way, type: $ cat /proc/`pgrep test`/maps You will see an output like below (you might get different output): [1] 0039d000-003b2000 r-xp 00000000 16:41 1080084 /lib/ld-2.3.3.so [2] 003b2000-003b3000 r--p 00014000 16:41 1080084 /lib/ld-2.3.3.so [3] 003b3000-003b4000 rw-p 00015000 16:41 1080084 /lib/ld-2.3.3.so [4] 003b6000-004cb000 r-xp 00000000 16:41 1080085 /lib/tls/libc-2.3.3.so [5] 004cb000-004cd000 r--p 00115000 16:41 1080085 /lib/tls/libc-2.3.3.so [6] 004cd000-004cf000 rw-p 00117000 16:41 1080085 /lib/tls/libc-2.3.3.so [7] 004cf000-004d1000 rw-p 004cf000 00:00 0 [8] 08048000-08049000 r-xp 00000000 16:06 66970 /tmp/test [9] 08049000-0804a000 rw-p 00000000 16:06 66970 /tmp/test [10] b7fec000-b7fed000 rw-p b7fec000 00:00 0 [11] bffeb000-c0000000 rw-p bffeb000 00:00 0 [12] ffffe000-fffff000 ---p 00000000 00:00 0 Note: I add number on each line as reference. Back to gdb, type: (gdb) q So, in total, we see 12 segment (also known as Virtual Memory Area--VMA). But I want to know about Windows Process & PE file format. Any tool(s) for getting the layout (segments) of running process in Windows? Any other good resources for learning more on this subject? EDIT: Are there any good articles which shows the mapping between PE file sections & VA segments?

  • optimal memory layout for read-only/write memory segments.

    - by aaa
    hello. Suppose I have two memory segments (equal size each, approximately 1kb in size) , one is read-only (after initialization), and other is read/write. what is the best layout in memory for such segments in terms of memory performance? one allocation, contiguous segments or two allocations (in general not contiguous). my primary architecture is linux Intel 64-bit. my feeling is former (cache friendlier) case is better. is there circumstances, where second layout is preferred? Thanks

  • How to change the layout of the CreateUserWizard control?

    - by Bazzz
    How to change just the layout (template) of the CreateUserWizard control programmatically? I would to define another layout (not using the horrid table) but continue to use all the event handling and the creation of the user of the CreateUserWizard control. Just for reference, the following code doesn't work, and produces an unexpected result not representing my Template at all. The "InstantiateIn" method of the ITemplate is not called. public partial class b : System.Web.UI.Page { protected void Page_Init(object sender, EventArgs e) { CreateUserWizard createUserWizard = new CreateUserWizard(); createUserWizard.CreateUserStep.ContentTemplate = new Template(); Panel1.Controls.Add(createUserWizard); } } public class Template : ITemplate { void ITemplate.InstantiateIn(Control container) { container.Controls.Add(new TextBox() { ID = "UserName" }); container.Controls.Add(new TextBox() { ID = "Password" }); container.Controls.Add(new TextBox() { ID = "ConfirmPassword" }); container.Controls.Add(new TextBox() { ID = "Email" }); container.Controls.Add(new PlaceHolder() { ID = "ErrorMessage" }); } } }
