    I'm wondering if it's possible (recommended might be the better word) to use sed to convert URLs into HTML hyperlinks in a document. Therefore, it would look for things like: http://something.com And replace them with <a href="http://something.com">http://something.com</a> Any thoughts? Could the same also be done for email addresses?

    After following a tutorial Ive found. Im now redoing it again, without the scaffolding part, to learn it better. However, editing my \app\views\home\index.html.erb to contain: <h1>Rails test project</h1> <%= link_to "my blog", posts_path> I get an error: undefined local variable or method `posts_path' for #<ActionView::Base:0x4e1d954> Before I did this, I ran rake db:create, defined a migration class and ran rake db:migrate, everything without a problem. So the database should contain a posts table. But that link_to command cant seem to find posts_path. That variable (or is it even a function?) is probably defined through the scaffold routine. My question now is; how do I do that manually myself, define posts_path?

  • xcode collect2: ld returned 1 exit status - how to resolve?

    From what I have read this is supposed to be when the linker (not exactly sure how that works) can't find a symbol. the symbol in question is: SCNetworkReachabilityCreateWithAddress as can be seen from the full error message below. the thing is that the correct framework is added to my target. xcode recognises the symbol OK, i.e. there is no error message in the .m file. the .m file is added to the correct target so I'm not at all sure what to do.   • INDY WebService over SSL contains link with HTTP protocol instead of HTTPS in WSDL

    When creating new SOAP WebService server project using Delphi XE2 the wizard allows to set change port and HTTPS properties. Port is set to 443, HTTPS flag is checked, but when trying to connect to created server it returns incorrect transport (HTTP instead of HTTPS) in WSDL and generates HTTP links on the Service Info Page. The auto-generated page is not so important, but wrong information in WSDL file is a problem.   • Can the Subversion client (svn) derefence symbolic links as if they were files?

    I have a directory on a Linux system that mostly contains symlinks to files on a different filesystem. I'd like to add the directory to a Subversion repository, dereferencing the symlinks in the process (treating them as the files they point to, rather than links). Generally, I'd like to be able to handle any working-copy operations with this behavior, but the 'svn add' command is where it starts, I think. The SVN client utility doesn't appear to have any options related to symlink dereferencing in the working copy. I didn't find any references to this in the manual (http://svnbook.red-bean.com/en/1.5/index.html), either. I found a poster on the SVN users mailing list who asked the same question but never received an answer, here: http://markmail.org/message/ngchfnzlmm43yj7h (That poster ended up using hard links instead of symlinks. That technique is not an option, in my case, because the real underlying files reside on a separate filesystem.) I'm using Subversion v1.6.1 on Fedora 11. For what it's worth, I know that there are alternative tools/techniques that could help approximate this behavior, but which I have to discard for various reasons. I've already considered [and dust-binned] these possibilities: - a "union" mount, merging all of the the directories containing the real files, with the SVN working-copy directory as the "top" layer in the union; - copying/moving the real files to the same filesystem as the SVN working-copy, and using hardlinks instead of symlinks; - non-SVN version control systems. These were all neat ideas, and I'm sure they are good solutions to other problems, but they won't work given the constraints of this environment and situation.

    Let say I have the following folders: /A/C /D/B/E /D/B/C (this is a symlink to /A/C created by ln -s) When one of the makefiles tries to use the path /D/B/C/../E it gets a "no file or directory" error. I understand why this happens; /A/E does not exist. However I have to use symlinks to populate the B folder and create the build tree (very long story). Any ideas?

    I just created a script which extracts the article out of a webpage via server-side JS. (If your interested: it's used for http://pipes.yahoo.com/fb55/expandr .) I just got a little problem with internal links. Some pages include links like: /subfolder/subpage.html What I would need to do is fixing them and setting there root, like this: protocol://secondlevel.firstlevel/subfolder/subpage.html I'm using E4X for processing the page. I don't want to show my current creepy try, it's buggy and slow. Does anybody have a solution for me?

    Does anyone know a solution to this problem? I'm unable to open a subdirectory within a symboliclink'd directory. I've confirmed that the paths are correct (even copy & pasted the path into explorer, which parsed it fine). This is a strange, annoying, bug :|.     I'm currently working on a Drupal site (6.*), which when in production mode will be accessed through some kind of http proxy, which means I will have to rewrite all the links for my custom theme if the $_SERVER['HTTP_X_FORWARDED_SERVER'] variable is set to the domain people will access the site from. The site has a lot of internal linking, mostly through Views. My thought is that the easiest way to solve this would be to hook into the url() and/or the l() functions and post process the url before returning it if HTTP_X_FORWARDED_SERVER is set. My problem is that I can't figure out how to hook into these functions, or if it's even possible without touching the core, has anyone had to do this? How did you solve it?

By the time a user finds one of the dynamic content urls, the data on the page has already changed and the user does not find what he was looking for. Further, the dynamic url pages contains links to the permanent urls (which I want Google or any crawler to index). Google crawler controls (webmaster tools) cannot be made to read urls from a page but not index them. Solutions? crawling strategies *system architecture*.

    I have four sheets in a spreadsheet. On each sheet there is a textbox. When I type in the textbox on sheet1, I want the textboxes on sheet2, sheet3, and sheet4 to populate with the same value. I've only gotten stupid answers, so someone with real knowledge would be helpful.

    I made this Applescript script to create symbolic links. Appart from POSIX path of, how can I get the file name, without the path, of the dropped file? on open filelist repeat with i in filelist do shell script "ln -s " & POSIX path of i & " /Users/me/Desktop/symlink" end repeat end open PS: I know this expects many files to be dropped and tries to create many links with the same name, which gives an error. Actually I copied this example from a website and as I don't know almost anything about Applescript, I don't know how to do this for a single file, help on that would be appreciated too.
