• Prevent Outlook from automatically deleting meeting emails

  I'm using Outlook Web Access to read my email. When I receive a meeting notice and acknowledge it, Outlook adds it to my calendar then deletes the email. Is there a way to disable Outlook automatically deleting the meeting email? There doesn't seem to be any way to configure this in Options - Messaging and Options - Calendar. Note that I'm using Outlook Web Access and not the desktop client. From the copyright date this appears to be Outlook 2007. Follow-up: Based on edusysadmin's comment I logged-in using IE8, which exposed a setting not available in Firefox - "Move out-of-date meeting requests and responses to the Deleted Items folder". However unchecking this box doesn't seem to impact the auto-delete behavior. Follow-up 2: Keep in mind I am using Outlook Web Access via a web browser. I do not have the thick client Outlook installed.

  Hi All, I'm having problem with my GPO changes, that I'd like to force to my terminal server users here's what I've done: I've made some necessary changes in one of the Domain Controllers to disable the GPO which applies to my Terminal Server user OU and then I go to the Terminal Server mstsc /admin console to perform the GPo refresh by using /force parameter, however I got this error instead: C:\Documents and Settings\Adminisratorgpupdate /force Refreshing Policy... User Policy Refresh has not completed in the expected time. Exiting... User Policy Refresh has completed. Computer Policy Refresh has not completed in the expected time. Exiting... Computer Policy Refresh has completed. but then the changes still got no effect yet as I logged in to the terminal server ? is there any way of how to make it in effect immediately please ? Thanks

• How can I restore my deleted calendar data in Windows Live Mail ?

  I have been using the calendar in Windows Live Mail for months now. When I logged on yesterday, all of the data and appointments I have been inputting for months is gone. The calendar is completely blank. I have performed a system restore with no luck. I have run in safe mode with no luck. I have run a check disk in DOS with no luck. Any other ideas on what I can do to find my calendar info? Could the file be corrupt? I rely on this calendar and all of my info is gone, so any help will be greatly appreciated.

• Sharing information between nodes in Beowulf Cluster

  I am setting up a beowulf cluster and I've been reading that it might be necessary to make the home directory of the cluster users shared between them (assuming this users are local to each machine). The other case is leave each user with its own home and the communication is up to the master node. Another idea that came up was to use an LDAP unique user logged on each machine in the cluster, that keeps the idea of the shared home between nodes (but is only one home of one user).   Possible Duplicate: How do you run windows explorer as a different user? Is it possible to start a Windows Explorer with the rights of another domain user? I tried to do the following to start a Windows Explorer on my computer as my domain Administrator, but without success: Right click on C:\Windows\explorer.exe to select Run as different user, Enter the domain administrator credentials: Domain\Administrator ************ The windows explorer session only opens with my current user rights (Domain\me). The reason behind my question is that I want to change some folder rights on a domain shared disk and I need the Domain\Administrator user rights to do it. Usually, I do it by login as Domain\Administrator on the server hosting the shared disk but I would like to be able to do it from my PC, logged as my current login (Domain\me). EDIT As seen in the linked posts, it is not possible anymore on Windows Vista or 7. On Windows XP, the solution is to do: runas /user:domain\username "explorer /separate"

• Active X Control issue on Terminal Server 2003

  I have a security camera system which can be viewed remotely via a web browser. It works excellent only with IE 6 and up and requires an ActiveX control "ERViewer.ocx". Some users require to view the cameras via Windows Terminal Server, but when they try to open the link to the DVR they get the prompt ti install the ActiveX and then the browser crashes when they try to install it. I logged in as admin and got the same issue. I called the tech support of the DVR but they have no idea, in other words, the usual useless tech support. Here is what I get in the error log Faulting application iexplore.exe, version 7.0.6000.16735, faulting module ERViewer.ocx, version 1.6.0.8, fault address 0x000064d7. I am sure it could be some kinda permission getting an ocx to run in IE. What else can I tweak?

  I run a website Cucumbertown with an initial pay load of nearly 9KB zipped. All my js is delayed loaded with requirejs and modernizer is the only exception. Now all my webpages are Nginx cached and only 10-15% hits go to the backend proxy. And the cache is invalidated by logged in users as proxy_cache_bypass. So for an anonymous user its nearly always a cache hit. I have some basic OS tuning with default via ip dev eth0 initcwnd 15 net.ipv4.tcp_slow_start_after_idle 0 Despite an all cache & large initcwnd my pages still take 2.5 – 3 seconds. I have a yslow score of And page speed at Are there strategies that can help deliver webpages even faster than this? Deliver pages at 1+ second time for 10KB payload? Notes: My servers run of a fairly good data center from Linode at Fremont.

  I'm on OSX 10.6.8 and would like to enable the root user. I found Apple's KB article, however this point Click the lock in the Directory Utility window. Enter an administrator account name and password, then click OK. Choose Enable Root User from the Edit menu. is not possible, because there is no "Edit Menu" Icon! • How can I download a phpbb forum with wget including password protected sections?

  I want to make a download of a forum I moderate, before it closes for good. There's some useful info on it I want to save for myself and I don't want to export the data to another webserver, I just want the pages. Mind you, I'm a user at the forum, not the admin. Now, I googled this and found it can be easily done with wget: How can I download an entire (active) phpbb forum? I used: wget -k -m -E -p -np -R viewtopic.php*p=*,memberlist.php*,faq.php*,posting.php*,search.php*,ucp.php*,viewonline.php*,*sid*,*view=print*,*start=0* -o log.txt http://www.example.com/forum/ I experimented with this, but I can only achieve downloading the publicly visible sections, not the sections you have to log in for. I tried to achieve this by using a Firefox plugin to make a cookies.txt (while my session is logged into the forum) and add --load-cookies file cookies.txt to the command, but still I only get the publicly visible sections. Any suggestions to make this work?

• sudo/su command for Red Hat Server 5.4

  Without going into too much detail, I need to execute one linux command on redhat with root user access. Red Hat Server 5.4 does not recognise the sudo command. The command su can be used to switch to the root user on redhat, but su cannot be done in one line. For example the command: su ; cd opt/storage/RootAccessFolder will not work because this only switches you to root, then executes the cd command once you have logged out from the root user. I guess what i'm looking for is like a.. sudo cd opt/storage/RootAccessFolder but I say again, sudo doesn't work. Any ideas?

• Mysterious problem...can remotely connect to a system but can't browse back out.

  I have LogMeIn installed on my home system. I went on travel and my wife called saying that none of our home systems could browse the internet. I thought I would try to connect to my home system using logmein. Surprisingly, I was able to connect to my home system and log in without any problems using logmein. When I opened a browser from my home system, I indeed could not browse. I opened a command prompt and tried to ping my router (192.168.1.1) and it failed/timed out. How is this possible? I can remotely connect to my system but once logged in cannot even ping my router. What's up with that?

I have a legacy system that needs to an account, constantly logged into console for applications to function as required (Some old PROCOMS modem software for customers without Internet access but a telephone (Dial-up? Separate issue, don't get me started -.-)). When an update is applied to this machine that requires a restart (Server 2003) I would like an e-mail alert to be sent.

• NGINX : Proxy pass intercepting 5xx errors - Possible to differentiate between ones fired by backed vs ones fired by nginx itself?

  We use proxy_intercept_errors ( http://wiki.nginx.org/HttpProxyModule#proxy_intercept_errors ) with our backends. We intercept a number of status codes, including a few 5xx ones. Our 5xx (each 500 has its own) handler has an access_log so we can see all the 5xx errors returned to the user in a nice clean logged format. The issue with this is that as it stands now, we cannot tell weather a 5xx was returned to the user by nginx or intercepted from our backend. Is there any way to differentiate between the two?   I created a virtual machine using VirtualBox 3.2 and Ubuntu Server 10.04 x64. Everything works fine. I logged in. I mounted the VBoxGuestAdditions.iso file. However, I can't for the life of me find where in the operating system this was done so I can get the additions installed. I've tried /media, /cdrom, /mnt, etc... I'm obviously new at this. Can someone help figure out how to install the guest additions and how to locate the mounted file? Thanks.

• Cannot open the device or file specified for office files

  Recently I've noticed on couple of computers that when users try to open Office files or links (to server path) to office files they get this error "Windows cannot access the specified device path or file", but the files itself open up without problems. This happened on 4 Windows XP computers already with Office 2003 installed. One one computer it was XLSX file being opened and every time user executed it, it opened up, but the error pops out. On the other hand when I open it directly from Office it works fine, without error. On another 3 computers it was after user pressed on the link to Access DB and it error out, but Access began MSI configuration (since it was first time user logged in to his computer) and in the end it opened up properly. After closing access and doing it again problem disappeared. Some faulty patch ? Eset Smart Security 4 is installed.

• Windows 7 - Runs in safe mode, crashes in "normal" mode

  A couple of days ago I came back from a meeting to find my laptop had locked up. Power lights still on but the screen was blank (by which I mean black, though still "backlit" so not dead). Didn't respond to anything. I rebooted and it powered up fine and I got to the login screen. I logged in and it seemed to be going fine for about 30 seconds (gmail notifier and pidgin popped up) then the same thing happened - black screen. If I boot into Safe Mode it's all fine, no problems. I've tried removing everything from the startup folders (All users and my login), everything from the Run section of the registry (Local Machine and my login) and I've disabled every service which doesn't run in Safe Mode (assuming anything running in safe mode is OK) but the problem still exists. I've scanned the memory for errors (all fine). Any thoughts on what else I could try?

• Shibboleth: found encrypted assertions, but no CredentialResolver was available

  I've gotten a Shibboleth Server Provider (SP) up and running, and I'm using the TestShib Identity Provider (IdP) for testing. The configuration appears to be all correct, and when I requested my secured directory I was sent to the IdP where I logged in and then was sent back to https://example.org/Shibboleth.sso/SAML2/POST where I am getting a generic error message. Checking the logs, I am told: found encrypted assertions, but no CredentialResolver was available I have rechecked the configuration, and there I have: <CredentialResolver type="File" key="/etc/shibboleth/sp-key.pem" certificate="/etc/shibboleth/sp-cert.pem"/> Both of these files are present at those locations. I've restarted apache and retried, but still get the same error. I don't know if it makes a difference - but only a subdirectory of the site has been secured - the documentroot is publicly available.

• Enable: Asp.net connection pool monitoring with performance monitor

Intro: Im suspecting that an asp.net application is having some issues with the connection pool and that the pool is flooding from time to time. So to make sure, I want to monitor the connection pool. The problem: So I logged in to the asp.net server(The sql database is hosted on a different server) which hosts the website. Started performance monitor. But when I want to select 'Current # pooled and nonpooled connections', I have no instance to select. There fore I can't add it. • Problems with RDC into Win2008 Server

  I'm having the same problem with a variety of new machines that I have built. When I RDC into the machine, the display does not update correctly. I get partial images, or refreshes only every 20-30 seconds. It is completely unusable. Eventually, it will even disconnect even though I am logged in. From RDCing into the machine, it looks like the machine is down, but it is fine. I can connect to it with an monitor and the problem is not visible. I think it is a problem with my network configuration. What should I look for to resolve this?

• Sharepoint 2010 site access denied for Active Dirtectory group member

  I created a blank site in Sharepoint 2010 and in Site Actions-->Permissions I removed all the users and added an Active directory group which has me as member and few others. After this I logged in as myself and it does not show that Portal on Left navigation. If I try to browse to that portal as myself it says "access denied"? I don't know where I am wrong. • MySQL multiple instances: can you specify a separate general_log/general_log_file option?

  Have two working MySQL instances as well as the default instance. I have general logging enabled on the default; this is working fine. On the second instance, I've added: general_log = 1 general_log_file = /path/to/log/file under [mysqld1]. Restarted the instance (using mysqladmin and confirmed it was not running with mysqld_multi report 1), started it back up again, and the only data in the log file are the connect statements from when mysqld_multi report 1 was executed. Are all the instance #1 queries just being logged to the default instance general log file? The default instance is quite busy and has identical database names, tables, etc. so it's difficult to figure out right now.

  I'm currently running V4.7 and I haven't touched any of the user or share settings, and I'm periodically losing read.write permission on both my windows 7 pc and my android tablet connecting over the wireless. Sometime I can access my shares and see the folder directories, but when attempting to open a folder windows denies me access saying I don't have the proper permission. This is after I have logged in with my main account that has full read/write access of everything, same on my android device. This all started when I attempted to delete a large amount of files (8gb) to make more room and about half way through started getting permission errors. What could be causing this? Thanks
