    I currently have an email address, [email protected], that I currently use to forward to a gmail account that I've used for years. I currently have it set, so I can send email from my [email protected] instead of [email protected]. This is done through the web ui on my current domain name, provider, gandi.net. What are the main differences between this arrangement, and setting up a Google Apps for your domain setup, where I'm explicitly listing in the dns records to point records to point to Google's app mail server?

  • Working around Gmail mailing-list “feature.”

    I'm using Google Apps for my domain's e-mail via IMAP. Whenever I send mail to a mailing list, I don't receive a copy of my own mail back in my inbox. According to Google, this is a "feature." Is there a way to disable this "feature" so that all mail I send to mailing lists appears in my inbox just like all other e-mail? Perhaps something along the lines of this method for disabling Google's spam filter??

    my domain has a domain extension that since my country is not supported by Google Apps I can't use that lovely GApps services for that domain. I need free email service of GApps the most, so I decided to give a go to "Send mail as" feature of a regular Gmail account and add my domain emails to that personal Gmail. I have a question: Do I need a SMTP server for my domain to receive email from others? Thanks in advance :)

    Hi, I've just updated my app with the latest WPF toolkit and I've now got an issue with my styling. When I bind some data with, for example, two columns to the grid, the spare area at the right shows the name of the ViewModel in the header. I can understand why, because the data grids data context is the ViewModel and I'm defining my header style as follows ... <WpfToolkit:DataGridHeaderBorder <Border BorderBrush="Blue" BorderThickness="0,1,0,0"> <TextBlock Text="{Binding}" Margin="4,0,4,0" /> </Border> </WpfToolkit:DataGridHeaderBorder> Do I now need a separate style for the 'spare column' or something?     Hi, I have a big background image for my views's background, which also can be tiled (it's repeadable). When switching from one Activity to another i want the background to behave like on the homescreen (the background moves only a bit, but the foreground moves one screen with). Is this possible and how?   • NSDictionary with key => String and Value => c-Style array

    I need an NSDictionary which has key in the form of string (@"key1", @"key2") and value in the form of a C-style two-dimentional array (valueArray1,valueArray2) where valueArray1 is defined as : int valueArray1[8][3] = { {25,10,65},{50,30,75},{60,45,80},{75,60,10}, {10,70,80},{90,30,80},{20,15,90},{20,20,15} }; And same for valueArray2. My aim is given an NSString i need to fetch the corresponding two-dimentional array. I guess using an NSArray, instead of c-style array, will work but then i cannot initialize the arrays as done above (i have many such arrays). If, however, that is doable please let me know how. Currently the following is giving a warning "Passing argument 1 of 'dictionaryWithObjectsAndKeys:' from incompatible pointer type" : NSDictionary *myDict = [NSDictionary dictionaryWithObjectsAndKeys:valueArray1,@"key1", valueArray2,@"key2",nil];

  • User management for google apps

    Hi guys, I'm modifying our collaboration system so it can be listed on google applications. A small issue I'm facing is the registering of user details. By default whenever someone logs into their google Apps account they pretty much are logged into the application. For every action taken by a registered login in user I store the user ID of that signed in user whenever an update is made in the database. However the google apps user sign in process is different in this respect that there isn't anything visible as a user ID for me to work with. Any ideas?

  • iPhone apps causing battery to drain out

    Hi, Recently my iPhone battery started to discharge in just one day. I do not use my iPhone much (less than 1 hour a day). and then while discussing it with couple of colleagues, I heard that there are some apps which even if installed on your iPhone can cause your battery to drain out faster. It does not matter if you are not using those apps, only having them installed was enough to cause battery drain. I have heard this from couple of my techie friends as well and thus had to put some credibility to it. Being an iPhone developer, I don't think that is possible. Do you think if this is possible for an app to cause battery drain just by being installed there on iPhone?

    I have a Django project with about 10 apps in it. But the admin interface only shows Auth and Site models which are part of Django distribution. Yes, the admin interface is up and working but none of my self-written apps shows there.     In WPF using IDataErrorInfo and Style I want to create form where I can provide end user three different status while validating data To make the scenario more clear 1) I have textbox next to it I have icon which provides end user what kind of input textbox expects - Initial status with information icon 2) As soon as user enter data it validates it and decides whether it is valid or not - most of the time it will show cross (X) icon saying invalid data 3) As it is validating on UpdateSourceTrigger="PropertyChanged" it will turn cross icon to green check mark as soon as it gets validated i.e [ ] i (tooltip- Any valid user name ) [Ga ] X (tooltip- Invalid user name. Must be 5 char long) [Gaurav ] * (it will show only correct icon, meaning valid value) How can I achieve this using IDataErrorInfo and Style, I tried doing that but as soon as my form gets loaded it invalidates all the data and shows cross icon at the first time. I want to show different tooltip and different icon for three states (Initial info, Invalid data, Valid data)

    I have a column Definition for each colume that extends AbstractColumnDefinition these columns are put in a DefaultTableDefinition PART OF a PagingScrollTable example: NAME | SIZE | RES | DELETE | this style (AT THE END OF THE PAGE ) is added to the column names if you notice all of them are with a cursor pointer , meaning a hand shows up when i hover above each one. I want to remove the cursor for some cells in the header like delete. HOW DO YOU set/add/remove a style on a particular cell of the header table of a PagingScrollTable? Are there more up to date, widely adopted standards? Most guidelines omit specifying file encoding and line endings. Sun recommends mixed tabs and spaces. The Eclipse IDE defaults to Eclipse's standard, which is tabs only. The Maven style guide is spaces only. Many style guides, such as JBoss, follow Sun's guidelines, but prefer K&R braces instead of OTBS. Each Apache project has it's own style guide, with slight differences between each one.

For example: - For each user of my ASP.NET application there is a folder with Word documents on my server - The ASP.NET application displays the available documents in a grid to the user - When clicking on one of the documents in the grid, the Word document is loaded in an IFrame which contains the Office 2010 web apps Word interface and editing of the document can take place - After editing, the document can be saved to the server, and the ASP.NET grid displays an updated status Would such a scenario be possible? But what I can't figure out is how to redirect other domains that's outside google apps. I have a domain at google apps, that work's perfectly. When I create a cname that points at either my appid.appspot.com or www.appsdomain.com it just goes to google.com. What do I need to do so the other domains point to my appengine application. ..fredrik

    Is it better for a collection of ASP.NET web apps to share the same session database, or should each one have its own? If there is no significant difference, having a single database would be preferable due to easier maintenance. Background My team has an assortment of ASP.NET web apps, all written in either Monorail 1.1 or ASP.NET MVC 1.0. Each app currently uses a dedicated session state database. I'm working on adding a new site to that list, and am debating whether I should create another new session database, or just share an existing one with another app.

  • Centralized Credentials Service For Various Apps

    We are researching the possibility to build a centralized credentials storage for internal applications. These apps (vb6, vb.net, web apps in asp.net, etc) are using various instances of SQL servers and iSeries. We want to implement a central credentials facility that would act as a security broker. Basically it should work like this: Client app supplies AppID (I am Sales Application) and EnvironmentID (I am running in QA environment) and in return will get either a connection object (preferred) or encrypted connection string that will allow said application to connect to resources it needs. There will be cases when application needs to connect to two (or more) database resources (i.e. to SQL and iSeries). What are looking at DP API at the moment, but I am not convinced that DP API is the solution as it tied in with machine key. In our case using machine key isn't feasible, so I want to know if there are other approaches available.
