  • Error when calling Render method on reporting services 2008

    Hi, I've moved my web application to a new server, when it calls the render method on the reporting services 2008 web service it brings back the error "Client found response content type of '', but expected 'text/xml'. The request failed with an empty response". It works fine on my development machine. Does anyone know what might be causing this? Many thanks, Chris.

How do i use Powershell to add a particular domain user or group to a specific reporting role in SSRS2005 (say the Content Manager or Browser role)? Is there a simple one or two line script to achieve it? Thanks! Note: this is definately programming related (not server admin), but i am also going to ask this on SF.

  • Looking for smtp service with reporting features

    Hello, Because the IP of the SMTP server that is being used by my Gridserver account at Mediatemple is blacklisted I'm looking for an off site SMTP service to send mails from my PHP application to (verification mails, notifications, etc). I'm using CampaignMonitor.com for mass mailings, but for all other mails I would like to use another service. I've checked out smtp.com and smtp-server.com which look okay, but maybe there are better out there? A reporting feature for undeliverables are a huge plus!

Where can I find a full list of all error codes returned, and a description of what they mean?

    We have a xml column in SQL Server 2008. We need to do reporting off the data in the xml so we're going to select the xml into a flat table. The flat table has columns that correspond to various nodes in the xml. What is the best way to do this using SSIS? Is this a good approach? Or should we just try and write the reports directly off the xml column?

    I was wondering if its possible to have some kind of SQL error reporting that sends me an email that includes the error and the website that it's been found on. I'd like to take this precaution because of hosting multiple drupal systems. There is a PHP error variant: http://drupal.org/project/php_errors Hope you guys know a way to become aware of any possible SQL errors by not loggin in to check the error report.

  • [Silverlight] Suggestion – Move INotifyCollectionChanged from System.Windows.dll to System.dll

    I just submitted a suggestion on Microsoft Connect to move the INotifyCollectionChanged from System.Windows.dll to System.dll. You can review it here: https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/details/560184/move-inotifycollectionchanged-from-system-windows-dll-to-system-dll Here’s the reason why I suggest that. Actually I wanted to take advantages of the new feature of Silverlight/Visual Studio 2010 for sharing assemblies (see http://blogs.msdn.com/clrteam/archive/2009/12/01/sharing-silverlight-assemblies-with-net-apps.aspx). Everything went fine until I try to share a custom collection (with custom business logic) implementing INotifyCollectionChanged. This modification has been made in the .NET Framework 4 (see https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/details/488607/move-inotifycollectionchanged-to-system-dll) so maybe it could be done in Silverlight too. If you think this is justifiable you can vote for it.

  • PHP does not return errors at all

    I am running PHP and nginx and I use a production version of php.ini. So the variable display_error is set to Off and there is a good reason I want it this way. But for certain files I need to enable error reporting. I used ini_set to turn on error reporting. But a simple code snippet like: <?php error_reporting(E_ALL); ini_set("display_errors", 1); echo "hi"errorrrrr ?> does not trace the error. It simply returns a HTTP 500 Internal Server Error message. What should I do to enable error reporting?

  • Why didn't IE8 support border-radius, evil or ignorance?

    When I think back to the time of the release of IE7, I was surprised that there wasn't border-radius support. It seems like an obviously great idea to have a css-property name for rounded corners, which can potentially make a site look less like it came from the computer stone-age. Finally, today we have IE9 and Microsoft finally decided to play ball with the rest of the world. But the question remains, why didn't Microsoft bother to support border-radius in IE8? The problem probably became obvious to the company as the growing chorus of complaints from web developers got louder after the release of IE7. Was the company so isolated or in group-think mode that they were blind for that many years? Or did Microsoft have some additional motive to suppress the border-radius property?
