• IIS8 Asp.net State service remote connection failure

  Recently we upgrade our web server to windows server 2012 with IIS8. We have this issue when users try to connect the asp.net state service to this web server remotely. It always popup Unable to make the session state request to the session state server. Please ensure that the ASP.NET State service is started and that the client and server ports are the same. If the server is on a remote machine, please ensure that it accepts remote requests by checking the value of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\aspnet_state\Parameters\AllowRemoteConnection. If the server is on the local machine, and if the before mentioned registry value does not exist or is set to 0, then the state server connection string must use either 'localhost' or '127.0.0.1' as the server name. In IIS7 / 7.5 we use the same way and it works fine. As long as the state service is running and firewall is set properly, we don't have any problem. However, in IIS8 it doesn't work. (We even turn off firewall to test it) Thanks for helping.

  Is there any possibility to display selected item of the ComboBox (after popup closing) in a way that is different from its displaying in DropDown List (There are players number and name in the dropdown list, but after list closing I want to see only its number). How can I change a background for the player with some Flag? As far as I know, all of that can be done with triggers, but are they supported in Silverlight 4, VS2010, Silverlight Toolkit 4? • a floating toolbar in WTL

  I've created a multimedia app that uses DirectShow to display multiple media streams simultaneously. The app is a WTL MDI application. For video windows, I use a CWindowImpl derived class - one per CChildFrame. I'd like to add controls to the video windows (volume ctrls etc). I'd initially thought about adding a slider (volume) control and a couple of buttons to a context menu - but later thought that this might not be the best approach. I was looking at MS Word 2007 - which has a floating toolbar that allows you to change options on highlighted text. I'd like to implement a similar floating toolbar for the video controls. I googled around a bit and found an old post about floating toolbars in WTL. The response was - for a floating toolbar, create a popup window and make it's parent the main window. I think that this sounds like a reasonable approach. my questions: Is this a good approach, or is there a more standard approach for a floating toolbar now in WTL? Should I make the toolbar a child of the video window or the CChildFrame that contains the video window, in order to ensure that it always remains on top of the video? How can I implement transparency in the floating toolbar, as in the floating toolbar in MS word?

  Hi, I wonder if anyone can help with a jQuery problem I am having. I am using the tooltips from the Jquery Tools library to create a popup window when mousing over an hrefed image, this I want to use to cusomise the call to change the content in the DIV. • Javascript error when integrating django-tinymce and django-filebrowser

  I've set up django-filebrowser in my app without any bugs, I already had django-tinymce set up and it loads the editor in the admin forms. • How do I create a .NET Web Service that Posts items to a users Facebook Wall?

  I'm currently toying around with the Clarity .NET Facebook API but am finding certain situations with authentication to be kind of limiting. I keep going through the tutorials but always end up hitting a brick wall with what I want to do. Perhaps I just cannot do it? I want to make a Web Service that takes in the require credentials (APIKey, SecretKey, UsersId (or Session Key?) and whatever else I would need), and then do various tasks: Post to users wall, add events etc. The problem I am having is this: The current documentation, examples and support provide a way to do this within the context of a Web site. Within this context, the required "connect" popup can be initiated and allow the user to authenticate and and connect the application. From that point on the Web can go on with its business to do what it needs to do. If I close the browser and come back to the page, I have to push the connect button again. Except this time, since I was already logged into facebook, I don't have to go through the whole connection process. But still ... How do applications like Tweetdeck get around this? They seemingly have you connect once, when you install their application, and you don't have to do it again. I would assume that this same idea would have to applied towards making a web service because: You don't know what context the user is in when making the Web service call. The web service methods being called could be coming from a Windows Form app, or code behind in a workflow.

• weird swing heavyweight object lightweight objects problem

  Hello, We have a problem in our swing based application since we've upgraded our java version from 6u5 to 6u18 (The application runs over WinXP). Our application contains a Canvas object which resides in a JFrame. The application draws things on the canvas. Every time we drag a lightweight swing object (popup or another frame) over the canvas, it has a refresh problem. It blinks - becomes black. The problem only resolves after we move the swing component away from the canvas and click on it again. We think this problem is related to the fact the the canvas is a heavyweight object. And we know there were changes done in the new versions of java on the mixing of heavyweight and lightweight objects issue. Some more details: 1) Our problem reproduces in java 6u14 and 6u16. 2) Everything works fine in java 6u5. Another strange thing: We have 2 types of stations running our application. The first type has a ATI FireGL7100 PCI-E graphics card. The second type has a Matrox G450 PCI graphic card. The problem does not reproduce on the Matrox based station in any java version. • javascript addEventListener onStateChange not working in IE

  Hi, I have two colorbox popup boxes which show a youtube video in each. When they're finished playing, I'm trying to have them automatically close the colorbox window. This code below works perfect in firefox, but in IE I can't get addEventListener to work. I've tried attachEvent with no success. Can anybody offer any suggestions as to how to solve this? It seems simple but I'm exhausted trying to find a solution. • Problem after dismissing a modal view used in conjunction with a uisplitviewcontroller

  I'm having a hard time understanding why the following is happening (and how to fix it). I've created an application using the split-view based application. I've added a UiBarButtonItem called showTheModal which calls this method found in RootViewController.m: - (IBAction)showTheModal:(id)sender { theModalController.modalPresentationStyle = UIModalPresentationFullScreen; theModalController.modalTransitionStyle = UIModalTransitionStyleCrossDissolve; [self presentModalViewController:theModalController animated:YES]; if ([detailViewController popoverController] != nil) [[detailViewController popoverController] dismissPopoverAnimated:YES]; The BarButtonItem of course, is shown at the bottom of the Default Root Controller (left side of the of the split view in landscape) or at the bottom of the popup (if in landscape). The modal view is dismissed by a button placed in a toolbar. It calls the following: [self dismissModalViewControllerAnimated: YES]; The problem I'm having is if rotate the screen, while the modal is up. Here is what happens in different scenarios (start refers to the orientation when the showTheModal button is hit, end refers to the orientation when I hit the dismissModal button). 1)Start landscape, end landscape: Everything appears fine. willHideViewController and willShowViewController methods are not called in the RootViewController (as expected) 2) Start landscape, end portrait: UI appears fine. willHideViewController is run TWICE (WHY?) 3) Start portrait, end portrait: UI appears fine. willHideViewController is run once (as expected) 4) Start portrait, end landscape: The 'Root List' button remains in the detail view (right side of the split view. Neither willHideViewController and willShowViewController are invoked (WHY??) Any thoughts as to why #2 and #4 don't behave quite the expected way?

  I'm having a heck of a time trying to figure out how to implement validation in a ListView. The goal is to require the user to enter text in the comments TextBox, but only if the CheckBox is checked. Downside is that these controls are in the EditTemplate of a ListView. • VS2010 asking to upgrade SIlverlight??

  I'm running the absolute latest versions of Silverlight and Visual Studio 2010 Professional and built a solution that contained a WPF project. From there, I added a SketchFlow project (based on Blend 4 RC) and I can run each project within the solution just fine by setting whenever I switch between them as startup projects. From there, I added a Silverlight 4 Business Application (taking all the defaults), and when simply trying to set that as the startup project and running it, VS2010 is giving me the following error after trying to open a web page: Line: 56 (in file TestPage.aspx) Error: Unhandled Error in Silverlight Application Code: 8001 Category: InitializeError Message: Upgrade required If I choose not to debug, I get the Silverlight page saying "This page requires a more recent version of Silverlight"! Clicking "Install Now" on the popup window brings me to Mirosoft's Silverlight page where I see: "The version of Silverlight originally requested is not available. You can get a supported version from this page. This Web browser or operating system may not be compatible with Silverlight. Please review the system requirements and, if you wish to proceed, choose the link for your operating system." If I choose to upgrade anyway, I'm told that I'm running the latest version of Silverlight available. What the heck? I'm running the final versions of VS2010 Pro, Silverlight 4, and the latest version of Expression Blend 4 (RC). Why can't VS2010 run this default Silverlight Business App? Any ideas? Please??   Hi , I have install the Red box plugin by using the following command script/plugin install svn://rubyforge.org/var/svn/ambroseplugins/redbox . It installed successfully. and again ran the following command the following location /myapp/vendor/plugin/redbox/rake update_scripts . It shows me the following output (in /myapp/vendor/plugins/redbox) rake aborted! private method `copy' called for File:Class /home/myapp/vendor/plugins/redbox/Rakefile:28 (See full trace by running task with --trace) I don't know How to solve this ... Then i understand that "rake update_scripts" copying the Js and Css file only. so i manually copied the Redbox.js & redbox.css files into the respective places under /public folder I include the follwoing into my application.html.erb <%= stylesheet_link_tag 'redbox' % <%= javascript_include_tag :defaults % <%= javascript_include_tag 'redbox' % It included in the page successfully. • Troubles Iterating Over A HashMap with JSF, MyFaces & Facelets

  Hi all, I'm having some trouble looping over a HashMap to print out it's values to the screen. Could someone double check my code to see what I'm doing wrong. I can't seem to find anything wrong but there must be something. In a servlet, I am adding the following to the request: Map<String, String> facetValues = new HashMap<String, String>(); // Filling the map req.setAttribute(facetField.getName(), facetValues); In one case "facetField.getName()" evaluates to "discipline". So in my page I have the following: <ui:repeat value="${requestScope.discipline}" var="item"> <li>Item: <c:out value="${item}"/>, Key: <c:out value="${item.key}"/>, Value: <c:out value="${item.item}"/></li> </ui:repeat> The loop is ran once but all the outputs are blank?!? I would have at least expected something in item if it's gone over the loop once. Checking the debug popup for Facelets, discipline is there and on the loop. Printing it to the screen results in something that looks like a map to me (I've shortened the output) : {300=0, 1600=0, 200=0, ... , 2200=0} I've also tried with a c:forEach but I'm getting the same results. So does anyone have any ideas where I'm going wrong? Thanks for any input, Lee

• Jquery getJSON() doesn't work when trying to get data from java server on localhost

  The whole day yesterday I've been trying to solve this but it's proven to be very challenging for me. I'm trying to use this JS to get information from a java application I wrote. $(document).ready(function() { $.getJSON('http://localhost/custest?callback=?', function(json) { alert('OK'); $('.result').html(json.description); }); }); The Java application uses httpServer and is very basic. When I access the page 'http://localhost/custest?callback=?' with Firefox, the browser shows me the server is sending me json data and asks with what to open it with, but when I try it from a webpage using the JS above it doesn't work. The getJSON call is not successful, the alert("ok") doesn't popup at all. If it replace "http://localhost/custest?callback=?" in the JS with "http://twitter.com/users/usejquery.json?callback=?" everything works fine. An interesting thing is that if I send malformed JSON from my java server Firebug gives an error and tells me what is missing from the JSON so that mean the browser is receiving the JSON data, but when I send it correct a JSON string nothing happens, no errors, not even the alert() opens.   It is necessary to implement the following functionality: There is a rectangle "field", its size is 150x100 pixels. Field is split to locations, each location is 10x10 (totally 15x10 locations on the field). There are few "coins" (5, for example), each of them can be dropped into any location. The list of text messages should be displayed in the drop-down list if any coin is clicked (when any message is clicked, drop-down list should be hidden and coin should display the number of selected message from 0 to 9, for example). That should be done with Silverlight 4.0 I am going to implement custom control "Coin", it will have a view (with a circle), it will display some kind of popup-window (please advise, which one), focus will be set to this window. On "FocusLost" window will be closed (without changing message number), if any message from the list will be clicked then its number will be stored inside of coin. Question 1: is there any control that already has required functionality? Question 2: how to implement "drag-and-drop" of coins to the "field" (lets assume, they will be close to the field)? Any thought or ideas will be helpful. Thanks.

The Loading.htm file is just a very slim html document writing out the text "Loading...". DotNetOpenAuth is just too big and I have been thusfar unable to get even the most simplistic, basic, absolute cut and dry implementation of it to work. NerdDinner had a promising implementation, but it is impossible to track down all of the dependant files and scripts. The DotNetOpenAuth website has virtually no information that helps, either, unfortunately. Does ANYONE know of a simple approach to just implementing this that actually explains and details how it is working with some kind of selector? It is talked about so much, but everything I find for it is so difficult to work with that it is really putting my whole team off from even considering it. We want to implement it similar to how stack overflow already does - using a selector that'll popup a login page if it needs to. I realize there is a lot of code that needs to be done for this, but everything just hails and praises dotnetopenauth, and nothing really teaches it. Even the sample projects do not open or compile. It looks like a wonderful library - but it really just isn't clicking for me.

• Get data from database without refresh whole page

  Hello everybody. My project is about a school admin I have a page called : createClass.php, where user inserts grade, profile etc. When he press "submit" page called createdClass.php is loading. Inside this page I have all code which insert data into database and also an "if" structure which says : "Class already exists" if in database is another class with same specifications. Also in second page (createdClass.php) i have a small table which shows the place of each student. First time all cells are green (this means that place is free) and if i click one of them appear a popup window which let me to add info about student from that place. If a place is busy the cell will be red (take a look here : http://screencast.com/t/NzM2YzYxNjct). The big problem is that the cell will be red only after refresh the page (the place ask for data from database). If I press refresh appears "class already exists". To test the code i added in a comment all lines which verify and add respectively classroom . I think my problem can be solved with ajax. I'm waiting for an answer. Regards Stefan

• ModalPopupExtender + ASP.NET AJAX: Can't page grid

  I'm trying to page and sort my datagrid wich is inside a modalpopupextender but I can't page it in any way, already tried with , put the updatepanel inside, outside, in the middle (loL) and it does NOT work. modal popup does not get closed but the grid just dissapear. • Silently catch windows error popups when calling System.load() in java

  I have a Java Swing application, which needs to load some native libraries in windows. The problem is that the client could have different versions of those libraries. In one recent version, either the names changed or the order on which the libraries must be loaded changed. To keep up, we iterated over all possible library names but some fail to load (due to it's nonexistence or because another must be loaded previously). This idea works on older Windows but on latter ones it shows a error popup. I saw on question 4058303 (Silently catch windows error popups when calling LoadLibrary) that I need to call SetErrorMode but I am not sure how to call SetErrorMode from jna. I know the event is firing because this works: $("a[rel]").overlay({ onLoad: function() { alert('popup opened') } }); However, when this alert fires the overlay has not yet appeared on the screen so I wonder if that is part of the problem? • How can I include additional markup within a 'Content' inner property within an ASP.Net WebControl?

  I've searched the site and I cannot find a solution for my problem, so apologies if it's already been answered (I'm sure someone must have asked this before). I have written a jQuery Popup window that I've packaged up as a WebControl and IScriptControl. The last step is to be able to write the markup within the tags of my control. I've used the InnerProperty attribute a few times, but only for including lists of strongly typed classes. Here's my property on the WebControl: [PersistenceMode(PersistenceMode.InnerProperty)] [DesignerSerializationVisibility(DesignerSerializationVisibility.Content)] public something???
