  • Button click doesn't call function even when button attribute OnClick is set to that function

    Hi, I have an aspx page with two buttons, one of the buttons has an OnClick attribute to a function that should be run when clicked. When the other button is clicked there is an if statement checking if the page is a postback, if it is then I run some statements that need to be run when that button is clicked. That postback button works fine. However, the other button, when it's clicked the function it's supposed to call never executes, and the statements inside if (Page.IsPostBack) get executed instead. What can I do to fix this? Is there a way to make the button that calls a function not do a Post back?

    I have a flowLayoutPanel which I am programatically adding new panelLayouts to. Each panelLayout has a pictureBox within it. It's all working nicely, but I need to detect when that picture box is clicked on. How do I add an event to the picture? I seem to only be able to find c# examples.... my code to add the image is as follows... ' add pic to the little panel container Dim pic As New PictureBox() pic.Size = New Size(cover_width, cover_height) pic.Location = New Point(10, 0) pic.Image = Image.FromFile("c:/test.jpg") panel.Controls.Add(pic) 'add pic and other labels (hidden in this example) to the big panel flow albumFlow.Controls.Add(panel) So I assume somewhere when I'm creating the image I add an onclick event.   • Background worker not working right

    I have created a background worker to go and run a pretty long task that includes creating more threads which will read from a file of urls and crawl each. I tried following it through debugging and found that the background process ends prematurely for no apparent reason. Is there something wrong in the logic of my code that is causing this. I will try and paste as much as possible to make sense.     I'm trying to use the right_aws (1.10.0) GEM with Rails, and I've reduced my problem to a 3-line irb session. The following works require 'rubygems' require 'right_aws' sqs = RightAws::Sqs.new("xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx", "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx") while this fails require 'rubygems' require 'right_aws' sqs = RightAws::SqsGen2.new("xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx", "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx") with NameError: uninitialized constant RightAws::SqsGen2. I see the class definition in the GEM source, the documentation is old but seems accurate, but I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. And while you're at it, is there any reason if I'm building something new, I'd want to use the older interface?

  • Tinyurl API Example - Am i doing it right :D

    Hi ... we use super-long Hashes for the Registration of new Users in our Application. The Problem is that these Hashes break in some Email Clients - making the Links unusable. I tried implementing the Tinyurl - API, with a simple Call, but i think it times out sometimes ... sometimes the mail does not reach the user. I updated the Code, but now the URL is never converted. Is Tinyurl really so slow or am i doing something wrong? (I mean hey, 5 Seconds is much in this Times) Can anybody recommend me a more reliable service? All my Fault, forgot a false in the fopen. But i will leave this sample of code here, because i often see this sample, wich i think does not work very reliable: return file_get_contents('http://tinyurl.com/api-create.php?url='.$u); This is the - i think fully working sample. I can see from the server log files that the script does not arrive on the Project page. I am new to webrat and quite new to ruby and I am now thoroughly confused. I have no idea why the response.body is gone. I have no idea where I am. I speculated that I had to wait for the page request, but all documentation says that webrat nicely waits till all redirects, pageloads, etc are finished. (At least I think I read that). Besides I find no method to wait for the page in the webrat API. Can someone give some tips on how to proceed with debugging this?

WhatPulse only updates the image once every 24 hours, so I am going to make an application to keep track of that for me, only with realtime stats.     Hi I've been searching for a way to do this, but could not find anything I want to have a: a disabled input text field, called #XX. This input will store the selected value from datepicker (as this input is disabled I won't be able to use this to trigger the datePicker) A button, besides #XX. When user clicks this button, datePicker will show. User will select the date, and this date will be assigned to disabled input #XX. I want this so user can't change manually -by typing crap- the selected date Also, should I validate if date was entered using #XX.val()? or is there a better way? Thanks

    Does anyone know of a good tutorial on the distinction between the MPMoviePlayer vs AVAudioPlayer vs MPMusicPlayer? I want to play audio from an mp3 file available at an external URL. Ideally it is played in an iPod-like audio view. I toyed with MPMoviePlayer but it appears to be more suitable for video, as when audio starts a "movie playing" message displays, the controls disappear and a white quicktime splash page displays. I would like the standard ipod audio controls to display all the time, and to customize the image behind them.
