  • Does it make sense to implement OAuth for a 2 party system?

    I'm under the impression that OAuth is for authentication between three parties. Does it make sense to implement OAuth in a context where there is just a client and server. We have a server, and a client (HTML/javascript). Currently we authenticate via the normal "post credentials to server, get a cookie, use cookie to authenticate all subsequent requests" method. Will implementing OAuth be a benefit in this situation?

  • Is Internet Explorer 8 the next IE6?

    So Microsoft has stated that Internet Explorer 9, the first version of IE with wide support for HTML5 (including CSS3), will not be available on Windows XP. Given that Windows XP is still the dominant PC operating system, are web developers doomed to a prolonged future of supporting another inferior (in terms of supported features) yet stubborn browser. Does the fact that Microsoft will support XP until April of 2014 and will never support IE9 on XP mean that IE8 will be the dominant browser for the next three years?

In terms of my development would it be better to: Cover Java in more depth to acquire a more intermediate level of ability Learn a new programming language (if so which) to a similar level as my current Java ability Spend timing learning introductory discrete maths, algorithms and data structures I'm also open to any other possibilities that would be beneficial but that could be covered in about 3 months.

SQL Server 2012 had non-updateable columnstore that required the base table to exist in rowstore form.     I have just set up my new system by creating three partitions on a whole hard disk (/boot,/home,swap and /(root)) .I saw this article and now i am getting those errors and the system provide me with some options (I to ignore, S to skip mounting or M for manual recovery). I am forced to choose skip mounting because i don't know what manual recovery is. Despite the error i get i think that the system boots ok because i can use the system but this error is very annoying.
