  • Wpf progressbar not updating during method calculation

    Hey guys, In my app, i have an import option, to read info from a .csv or .txt file and write it to a database. To test, i"m just using 200-300 lines of data. At the beginning of the method, i calculate number of objects/lines to be read. Every time an object is written to the database, i want to update my progressbar. That's too late to show feedback to the user. Can anyone help me solve this. EDIT : I'm also trying to show some text in labels to tell te user what is being done, and those aren't udpated till after the method is complete. Thanks in advance.

    In one of my Selenium test cases, I try to ensure that certain pages can't be accessed. Instead, HTTP return code 403 should be given. However, here Selenium terminates test execution with the following exception: com.thoughtworks.selenium.SeleniumException: XHR ERROR: URL = http://user:[email protected]/admin Response_Code = 403 Error_Message = Forbidden Any way to work around that?

  • Running Visual Studio 2005, 2008, and 2010 on same system.

    I have around 50 projects in Visual Studio 2005 that I am building a new development machine for and I'd like to slowly move those projects to VS 2008 but also have 2010 available for select new projects. Can this work? Are there any gotchas for this sort of setup? Any general advice for running multiple versions of Visual Studio on the same system would be greatly appreciated. Specifically related to managing a controlled migration of projects to new versions but being able to selectively keep some on old versions.

  • updating changes from one database to another database in the same server

    I have a copy of client database say 'DBCopy' which already contains modified data. The copy of the client database (DBCopy) is attached to the SQL Server where the Central Database (DBCentral) exists. Then I want to update whatever changes already present in DBCopy to DBCentral. Both DBCopy and DBCentral have same schema. How can i do it programatically using C#.NET maybe with a button click. Can you give me an example code as how to do it?. I am using SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition and VS 2008 SP1. In the actual scenario there are about 7 client database all with same schema as the central database. I am bringing copy of each client database and attach it to Central Server where the central database resides and try to update changes present in each copy of the client database to central database one by one programatically using C# .NET . The clients and the central server are physically seperate machines present in different places. They are not interconnected. I need to only update and insert new data.     My Application having TreePanel Element and I have to select the root node at the begining to add child node underit. When I try to click on root node using its XPATH String locator = "//div[@id='resultPropertyTree']/div/table/tbody/tr/td"; selenium.clickAt(locator,"0,1"); The entire element is going invisible hence script throwing debug exception saying the element is invisible/not got the focus etc. Can anybody help me out on handling above is appreciated.     I have a browser which takes certain parameters as options as shown below. testbrowser.exe -id=test -url=http://www.google.com/. Below is my selenium code. selenium = new DefaultSelenium("localhost", 4444, "*custom "+testBrowser+" -id=test -url=", "http://www.google.com/"); selenium.start(); selenium.open("http://www.yahoo.com"); When i execute this i am getting the below error. java.lang.RuntimeException: Could not start Selenium session: Failed to start new browser session: Error while launching browser at com.thoughtworks.selenium.DefaultSelenium.start(DefaultSelenium.java:103) I think the problem is with options that my browser requires as the same code works fine with firefox or IE.   • Native Mouse events with Flash and Selenium

    I understand that Selenium does not support Flash, but it is my understanding that I should be able to do some simplistic testing of Flash by using Selenium's built in native mouse support and doing mouse up/down events based on coordinates. Is this correct? I can't seem to get it working. I'm trying to test on this page: http://mandy-mania.blogspot.com/2010/04/sneak-peek-of-final-season-of-lost-dvd.html and all I'm trying to do is click on the flash object so it plays the video. I've tried all sorts of commands, MouseOver, MouseDown, MouseDownAt, MouseUp, MouseUpAt, etc. So, I'm wondering if this just theoretically doesn't work or if I'm just doing something wrong. The xpath I'm using is //object[@id='player'], although I've tried a number of different combinations. And yes, I've also tried just the straight click command. Any suggestions? Thanks!

  • Complex derived attributes in Django models

    What I want to do is implement submission scoring for a site with users voting on the content, much like in e.g. reddit (see the 'hot' function in http://code.reddit.com/browser/sql/functions.sql). My submission model currently keeps track of up and down vote totals. Currently, when a user votes I create and save a related Vote object and then use F() expressions to update the Submission object's voting totals. The problem is that I want to update the score for the submission at the same time, but F() expressions are limited to only simple operations (it's missing support for log(), date_part(), sign() etc.) From my limited experience with Django I can see 4 options here: extend F() somehow (haven't looked at the code yet) to support the missing SQL functions; this is my preferred option and seems to fit within the Django framework the best define a scoring function (much like reddit's 'hot' function) in my database, and have Django use the value of that function for the value of the score field; as far as I can tell, #2 is not possible wrap my two step voting process in a suitably isolated transaction so that I can calculate the voting totals in Python and then update the Submission's voting totals without fear that another vote against the submission could be added/changed in the meantime; I'm hesitant to take this route because it seems overly complex - what is a "suitably isolated transaction" in this case anyway? use raw SQL; I would prefer to avoid this entirely -- what's the point of an ORM if I have to revert to SQL for such a common use case as this! (Note that this coming from somebody who loves sprocs, but is using Django for ease of development.) Before I embark on this mission to extend F() (which I'm not sure is even possible), am I about to reinvent the wheel? Is there a more standard way to do this? It seems like such a common use case and yet in an hour of searching I have yet to find a common solution...

WHERE ..." statement. having a table (without extra constraint), +----------+ | id | name| +----------+ | 1 | a | +----+-----+ now, I would execute following 4 statements "at the same time" (concurrently). UPDATE table SET name='b1' WHERE name='a' UPDATE table SET name='b2' WHERE name='a' UPDATE table SET name='b3' WHERE name='a' UPDATE table SET name='b4' WHERE name='a' is there only one UPDATE statement would be executed with table update? or, is it possible that more than one UPDATE statements can really update the table? should I need extra transaction or lock to let only one UPDATE write values into table? thanks

  • Is there any way to delete an HttpOnly cookie from C# Selenium tests?

    I have a set of C# Selenium tests that need to delete a cookie that has the HttpOnly flag set. Unfortunately the DefaultSelenium.GetCookie() and DefaultSelenium.DeleteCookie() commands aren't able to access the cookie, because it has that HttpOnly flag set. I've confirmed this by removing the flag by hand, and checking that subsequent calls to either of those methods are then happily able to manipulate the cookie in question. Is there any other way to do this via the Selenium .NET client driver? All ideas welcome!

Collect the Cookie information for each call, and store it to a file. Send another call: http://myserver.com:1111/cookie?out=text Store the output (body text) of this file to a separate file for each call made in 4 Open the next URL in the text file given in 1 and repeat steps 1-6. The above is to be run with multi-threading, so that I can send around 5-10 URL requests simultaneously. I have implemented something in Selenium using Java, but have not been able to do the multi-threading approach. Then when I capture the cookie information from here and store it, I open another window to output all the cookie information for that server to my browser window. This works fine when I do outside of Selenium code, but when I do it within the above code, it opens a "Save As..." popup and my tests stop. :-( I wish to save the contents of that second call to a new file, but have not been able to do the same. Also, if I have to send multiple such requests to the server, how would that be possible in Java using a Selenium Framework. Currently, I am opening multiple instances of the framework and running them with different parameters :-(

    Hi All, I have a JSP page populated by javascript resulting in a typical table element cascade . After population I see the text I want using getTable("tableLister.listTable.1.1") The table also has a class=clsDisplayTableBody. I want to click the check box in column 0 for the row of interest.     I have button on the page that being used as a link to another page. So when the user clicks the button they are redirected to the right page. I am using the Selenium extension for PHPUnit and I would like to test that the button is correctly redirecting the user. Here is the HTML that I am trying to test: <button onclick="window.location='/sponsor';" value="Continue" type="button" id="sponsorContinue" name="sponsorContinue">Continue</button> I have tried a lot of different approaches to click the button, but I can't seem to get any of them to work: $this->click("//button[@id='sponsorContinue']"); This command executes and does not throw any errors, but the page isn't redirected. It works fine when I manually click the button. What should I do?

  • Updating database row from model

    Hey everyone, I'm haing a few problems updating a row in my database using Linq2Sql. Inside of my model I have two methods for updating and saving from my controller, which in turn receives an updated model from my view. My model methods like like: public void Update(Activity activity) { _db.Activities.InsertOnSubmit(activity); } public void Save() { _db.SubmitChanges(); } and the code in my Controller likes like: [HttpPost] public ActionResult Edit(Activity activity) { if (ModelState.IsValid) { UpdateModel<Activity>(activity); _activitiesModel.Update(activity); _activitiesModel.Save(); } return View(activity); } The problem I'm having is that this code inserts a new entry into the database, even though the model item i'm inserting-on-submit contains a primary key field. I've also tried re-attaching the model object back to the data source but this throws an error because the item already exists. Any pointers in the right direction will be greatly appreciated. UPDATE: I'm using dependancy injection to instantiate my datacontext object as follows: IMyDataContext _db; public ActivitiesModel(IMyDataContext db) { _db = db; }

    Not sure if this is a bug or if i'm just missing something but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get my cursor back in the winforms designer in visual studio 2010. I opened up an existing project and added a group box, now my cursor is stuck drawing group boxes. I just want the simple pointer cursor back but nothing I do seems to bring it back. I almost expected it to be on the toolbox under "Cursor" but its not.

  • JSF2: Re-render all components on page that have a given ID, without absolute paths

    Is there any way in JSF 2.0/PrimeFaces of re-rendering all components (using the PrimeFaces update="id1 id2..." attribute or the <f:ajax render="..."/> tag) that have got a given ID, regardless of whether they are in the same form that contains the button triggering the AJAX re-render or not? For example, I want my button to re-render all sections on a page that visualize the user's current shopping basket. Right now, I always have to specify the absolute path to the components that I want to get updated, e.g. update=":header:basket :left-sidebar:menu:basket" which is rather impractical if the structure of the page changes (besides, I have not been able to figure out the correct path for one of these components). I already tried to implement a custom EL function like this, which traverses the component tree: update="{utilBean.findAllComponentsMatchingId('basket')}" but at the time that function is evaluated, apparently not the entire component tree has been set up as it doesn't contain the components I am looking for. How can I deal with this? There certainly must be an easy way of doing AJAX-based updates of sections of the page that are not part of the current <h:form>? Thanks!
