  • Latex: Make \listoffigures look like \listoftables or \lstlistoflistings

    I've got a list of listings at the end of my document following my list of tables and my list of figures. The thing that is really annoying me is that they look the same except the list of listings doesn't leave a line gap between chapters. I've had a good google around and people have asked the same question but don't seem to have had any response. Is their any reason why they don't look the same and it be made to look concise?

    I am about to start on a project where I need to display maps with cross streets and possibly directions. I know there are a lot of API for the web, but I was wondering what the best solution is for a desktop application. I know of Bing Maps and I believe there are some Google Maps solutions out there as well. Any help or information on good mapping API's would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • Why does the web page I fetch with Perl look odd?

    I have a Perl script to open this page http://svejo.net/popular/all/new/ and filter the names of the posts but except headers everything seems encrypted. Nothing can be read. When I open the same page in a browser everything looks fine including the source code. How is it possible to encrypt a page for a script and not for a browser? My Perl script sends the same headers as my browser (Google Chrome).

    I've got some code which works fine in IE but unfortunately not in Google Chrome/Firefox. It relies upon calling a click() event on a button from javascript. Reading around it seems that this is an IE specific extension (doh). Is there any way I can do a similar thing in chrome + firefox? Thanks

"Device API version is 7 (Android 2.1)" The application never starts, instead, it shows that frame with: "The application (...) has stopped unexpectedly..."     I have Oracle 10g installed on Windows in C:\oracle. If I stop all Oracle services, is it safe to backup by just copying the entire directory (e.g., to C:\oracle_bak), or am I significantly better off using expdp? Pointers to docs/websites very welcome, I wasn't able to Google up anything relevant.

  • unwanted space before and after nested html table using Internet Explorer 8

    I have an html table nested in an html table cell. I want the nested table to use the full size of the cell it is nested in. When I use firefox or google chrome I get the result I want but when I use Internet Explorer 8 (even if I use td style="height="100%") the height of the nested cell depends on it's content. As a result I get whitespace before and after my nested table.

    I am getting an error that says: error: looser throw specifier for 'virtual CPLAT::CP_Window::~CP_Window()' On the destructor, I have never heard of this before and some Google Searches say this might be a GCC 4 problem, which I would not be sure how to work around since I need GCC 4 to build a Universal Binary.     What is the generic algorithm or process that is commonly used to dynamically render portions of a scrolling area? For example, in Google Maps, when the user scrolls past the bounds of the currently rendered area, a grey checkerboard pattern is displayed within the not-yet-rendered portions while the application loads and renders those areas. I'm looking specifically for the approach, or the mathematics, related to filling a graphics area in chunks based on what has just come into view. If possible, I'm looking for anything relevant to the GDI+ process of doing so.

At the moment, when the onLocationChanged() method is called, the application stores the current GPS longitude and latitude in a database and calls the animateTo() method to the current position. Using SDK 1.5, how would I go about connecting these points with a coloured line drawn on the MapView using an Overlay?.
